獎項介紹 DISSERTATION OF GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD
金點設計獎源自 1981 年、創立於台灣，是全球華人市場具權威性與影 響 力 之 專 業 設 計 獎 項， 現 由 台 灣 設 計 研 究 院 ( Taiwan Design Research Institute, TDRI ) 辦理獎項與策劃頒獎典禮及相關活動。自 2015 年起，
金點設計獎針對不同目標族群，分設「金點設計獎」、「金點概念設計 獎」及「金點新秀設計獎」等三大獎賽，旨在褒揚傑出的創新設計產品 與作品。
Established in 1981, Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award is the most influential design award in the global Huaren market. The planning and handling of the awards, the prize-giving ceremony, and all other related activities are executed by Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI). In 2015, the Golden Pin Design Award launched three separate awards — the GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD, GOLDEN PIN CONCEPT DESIGN AWARD, and YOUNG PIN DESIGN AWARD. The purpose of each award is to commend outstanding innovation in design within different target demographics.

獎項介紹
金 點 設 計 獎 GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD
金點設計獎參賽作品須為已商品化及上市銷售之作品，申請者可為業 者或設計團隊。每年透過嚴謹公正的專業評審制度，遴選出上百件作 品授予「金點設計獎標章」，代表對於作品品質的肯定，並從中評選 出象徵至高榮譽「金點設計獎年度最佳設計獎」，授予證書及獎座， 具有高度公信力。 The Golden Pin Design Award recognizes commercialized products and completed projects (not concept). The vendor applicant can be a business entity or design team. Each year, through a rigorous and impartial judging process led by industry experts, more than one-hundred products and projects are selected to receive the coveted Design Mark certificate in recognition of outstanding design. A small selection of the Design Mark recipients are then chosen to receive the Best Design trophy. The Golden Pin Design Award certificate and trophy is an influential signifier of quality in design.

金 點 概 念 設 計 獎 GOLDEN PIN CONCEPT DESIGN AWARD
金點概念設計獎針對尚未量產銷售之作品、非客戶委託專案及未實際 執行之提案，開放世界各地學生、設計師或公司，提出與眾不同的新 穎創意或解決方案，為發掘全球創新概念設計之平台。每年評選出「金 點概念設計獎」得獎作品並授予標章使用權，並從中評選出象徵至高 榮譽的「金點概念設計獎年度最佳設計獎」得主，授予證書、獎座及 獎金。 The Golden Pin Concept Design Award is open to products and projects that have not yet been mass-produced, sold on the market or in active development. It welcomes students, designers, and companies from all over the world, and is open for creative ideas and unorthodox solutions that break new ground. The Golden Pin Concept Design Award gathers together innovative design concepts from all around the globe, and creates a platform for future innovation in design. Winners of the annual award are granted the right to use the coveted Design Mark. The Best Design winners receive a certificate, award trophy, and a cash prize.

2021 金點設計獎共收到 2 , 706 件、來自全球 17 地的優秀設計作品參賽， 包括台灣、中國大陸、香港、澳門、新加坡、日本、馬來西亞、韓國、 泰國、德國、加拿大、波蘭、印度、印尼、美國、英國、菲律賓等地作 品，爭取獎項殊榮。經評審團嚴謹評選與討論，今年選出 627 件作品 榮獲「金點設計獎標章」，其中 115 件入圍「金點設計獎年度最佳設計 獎」，最終僅 31 件贏得此獎項最高榮耀。此外，今年亦選出 1 件「金 點設計獎年度特別獎—循環設計」、1 件「金點設計獎年度特別獎—社 會設計」，表彰符合獎項精神、具社會及產業典範意義的作品。
The Golden Pin Design Award 2021 received a total of 2,706 entries from 17 countries and regions all around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Germany, Canada, Poland, India, Indonesia, U.S.A., U.K., and Philippines. Of those entries, 627 were granted the right to use the Design Mark. Another 115 were selected as the Finalists for Best Design, following a rigorous selection process and discussion among the jury. From this shortlist, 31 entries were chosen as the Best Design winners. In addition, the organizer also awarded the Golden Pin Design Award’s Special Annual Award for Social Design and for Circular Design to entries with major social or industrial significance that meet the award criteria.

呼應專輯主題，封面以神話中的公鹿與項鍊為主角，結合象徵孕育 生命的子宮；封底則融合歌曲名稱與台灣特有種植物。外包裝無印 刷，採類木片紙張雷射雕刻，傳達部落樸實質感，更有別於金屬樂 團包裝的殘酷印象。 Echoing the theme of the album, the cover of Myths of the Islands features mythical stags and chains as the central figure, together with the image of a womb to symbolize life. The back cover contains the song titles threaded between specimens of Taiwan’s unique, endemic plant species. Unlike the brutal look that is typical of most metal band covers, the outer packaging of this album was created with natural, rough, woody paper, and the designs are imprinted with laser engraving rather than being printed in ink to convey a sense of tribal simplicity.

We reduced the use of plastic to the greatest extent possible, using one-piece packaging produced mainly from recycled paper and that also has a buffering effect. In addition, the packaging is easy to deconstruct, so that in the various processes from unpacking to recycling, consumers can make their contributions to eco-friendliness.

When a full black background is used, lights—usually the main attraction of a space, are relegated to a helper that enhances the overall experience. We used the most delicate materials to design and interpret the existence of light, in order to align with the focus on cuisine creation and the dining experience.

Instead of purposely replicating traditional elements, we preserved the essence of the original country architecture and used some parts of the original building to create a new look while simultaneously meeting the functional needs of modern people. In doing so, we not only reduced costs, but sustained and passed on traditional culture and crafts knowledge.

透過新大廳的增設與內部空間秩序的整理，彌補既有建築匱乏的 流動性與開放性。新的屏東縣立圖書館總館，在連接圖書館與城 市的同時，也連結了屏東的新與舊，成為市民共同累積回憶的新 城市空間。 By adding a new lobby and re-articulating the existing spatial design, the Pingtung Public Library created an open, inviting space that connects the library to the city just as it connects tradition with contemporary design. This redesign has transformed the library into a brand-new urban space that brings the people of Pingtung together to create new experiences and memories to cherish.

Instead of needles, we used bolts and screws to fix wood so that every solid wood object can be deconstructed and recycled, thereby using eco-friendly methods to create a positive cycle.

Additionally, the protruding rooftop is made of bamboo, a feature that helps to gather rain to divert into drainages and which can be used by nearby areas during dry seasons.

The interior space of this converted Greyhound bus built in the USA back in 1977 has been reimagined as a luxurious barbershop that toys with the exotic splendor of the Oriental Express while retaining the vehicle’s functionality. Through the skillful use of deep-toned veneer, metal, marble, and leather, the designers have created an atmosphere of almost reverential luxury.

2020 桃園文創博覽會「走桃花」，透過編輯地方的採集精神，以 自然山林、人文記憶、產業創新、文化轉譯等視角，重新編整打造 出跨域、共感、創新及設計整合的地方文博會。 The 2020 Creative Expo Taoyuan was developed from the central theme of a Place on the Move. The exhibition included the cultural display "Running Taoyuan," which dug into the hidden charm and value of Taoyuan; the themed display "Fruiting Taoyuan, ” an experiment in the integration of design and Taoyuan’s industries; and "Taoyuan Forest," which combined display and sales with local stories. Collectively, the curation presented a groundbreaking portrayal of Taoyuan that shone a light on unexpected local strengths.

公共消防設備再設計 Demonstration of Public Facility Makeover: Public Fire Safety Equipment Redesign
與內政部消防署跨部會 合作，籌組跨領域團隊，以「公用滅火器」 與「室內消防栓箱」為示範標的，優化台灣消防設備並將成果開 源，促進消防設備產業升級。計畫推動至今，已促成四項消防法規 調修。 In a cooperative effort with Taiwan’s National Fire Agency, the design team used design thinking to make improvements to public fire extinguishers and indoor fire hose cabinets in order to upgrade Taiwan ’ s fire safety equipment and allow it to better blend in with the surrounding living environment. Altogether, this project has contributed to the revision of four Taiwanese fire protection regulations.

導入服務設計研究、籌組跨域設計團隊，並邀請利害關係人共創， 以系統模組化設計，建構一致且安心的公衛環境，並落實於兩間不 同樣態的衛生所。計畫亦提出規範書，可供全台衛生所應用。 The Public Health Center Re-design project recruited an interdisciplinary design team and invited stakeholders to join the co-creation process in this service design pilot study, resulting in the development of a modular design system that was installed it in two different public health centers. The goal of the project was to "create a reassuring consistency in public health venues." The project also developed standard specifications that can be duplicated at other public health centers in Taiwan.

ZenZhou Water-Storing Seedling Pot
藉由「以盆聚水、以繩滴灌」的設計，應用毛細原理將水穩定供給 至植物根部。盆體以回收再生紙漿及天然可分解材料融合製作，兼 具蓄水力與防護力，可不斷蓄接雨水，最後生物分解於土壤中，化 作春泥更護樹。 The ZenZhou Water-Storing Seedling Pot is made of recycled paper and biodegradable materials. It’s special string-drip irrigation design transports water to the roots at a steady rate, improving sapling survival rate by up to
70% with 2-3 times the growth rate of traditional methods. The pot ensures rainwater storage and sapling protection for about a year, after which it naturally decomposes, fertilizing the soil and further nurturing the growing saplings.

2021 金點概念設計獎共收到多達 4 , 965 件、來自全球 25 地的作品，包 括台灣、中國大陸、香港、澳門、日本、韓國、新加坡、馬來西亞、泰 國、印度、印尼、黎巴嫩、挪威、俄羅斯、瑞士、英國、法國、波蘭、 加拿大、美國、墨西哥、澳洲，以及首次參賽的南非、阿爾及利亞、波 士尼亞與赫塞哥維納。經評審團評選，最終有 44 件作品出線，獲得「金 點概念設計獎」及標章使用權，其中再評選出 3 件作品獲得象徵至高榮 譽的「金點概念設計獎年度最佳設計獎」，並授予證書、獎座及獎金新 台幣 40 萬元。此外，今年亦從標章得主中，選出 1 件「金點概念設計 獎年度特別獎—遠雄特別獎」，鼓勵優秀的泛建築領域應用作品。
The Golden Pin Concept Design Award 2021 received 4,965 bold and innovative concepts from designers in 25 countries and regions all around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Norway, Russia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia, — and first-time participation from South Africa, Algeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
44 of those entries were selected as Golden Pin Concept Design Award winners and were granted the right to use the Design Mark. From those winners, three were selected to receive the Best Design trophy and a cash prize of NT $400,000. Moreover, one mark winner was selected to receive a Special Annual Award
“Farglory Award” to honor designers with exceptional talent.

腐生昆蟲黑水虻可轉化廚餘為養分，是有機廢棄物減量的有力貢獻 者，近年漸受產業關注。 Ento.edu 以特殊機構設計，整合飼養流 程於一體，免去傳統養殖過篩蟲體及搬運的麻煩，更可讓學童透過 觀察及操作養殖，體會生命的循環。 Saprobiotic black soldier flies have gradually attracted industry attention in recent years due to their ability to turn leftovers into nutrients and reduce organic waste. With its special mechanical design, Ento.edu, the black soldier fly educa-tional rearing unit, integrates all feeding processes into one device, reducing the trouble of sieving and moving flies present in traditional farming. Additionally, through observing and participating in the farming process, students are better able to appreciate the life cycles of flies as well as all living beings.

With its small, portable size, it can be used domestically, in water, or in other scenarios for emergency medical care and patient transport.

本件動畫作品創作靈感源於青春期的苦澀回憶，透過對於青春期少 女的刻劃，以柔和的鉛筆筆觸、極簡的留白，述說成長過程中關於 性的記憶，以及對於身體變化的迷茫與期待等複雜情感。 The inspiration of this animation work comes from the bitter memories of the artist's puberty period. Through using gentle pencil strokes and minimalist blank space to depict a young girl, the artist tells a story of her memories of sex, as well as her confusion and expectations towards her physical changes in her younger days.

2021 金 點 概 念 設 計 獎 與 遠 雄 文 教 公 益 基 金 會 聯 名 合 作 辦 理 年 度 特 別 獎，以「金點概念設計獎年度特別獎 – 遠雄特別獎」，鼓勵設計師持續 勇於創新，大膽拋出新穎創意。凡入圍金點概念設計獎決審之參賽作 品，皆可獲得角逐資格。由金點概念設計獎與遠雄文教公益基金會共組 的專業評審團，從創新性、商業應用可行性、提報表現及對社會環境之 影響等面向，選出具前瞻性的泛建築領域應用設計，授予獲獎者證書、 獎座及新台幣 20 萬元。
The 2021 Golden Pin Concept Design Award has its own Special Annual Award. Titled the “Farglory Award,” it is set to be co-presented by the award organizers and Farglory Foundation to encourage designers to boldly pursue innovation and creativity. Entries that pass the Golden Pin Concept Design Award’s Secondary Selection this year will be eligible to compete for this special award. The jury, comprising a group of design professionals handpicked by the award organizers and Farglory Foundation, will evaluate the eligible entries based on originality, commercial viability, presentation skills, applicability to the general architecture field, and social/environmental impact. Upon consideration of these important aspects, the most forward-looking designer shall prevail and receive the Special Concept trophy and a cash prize of NT $200,000.
都市雨水膜系統 Stormwater Membrane System
在建築立面上設計集水設施，增加收集雨水量，並結合過濾及排水 系統，將雨水轉換為乾淨水供家庭使用；搭配地面集水磚設計收集 逕流，可為植栽提供灌溉，讓都市更加善用天然水資源。 To improve rainwater collection, water gathering devices were installed on the vertical side of the building and combined with filtering and draining systems to turn rainwater into clean water for domestic use. When paired with holed bricks on the ground, rainwater can also be used for watering plants, thus helping the city use water in a more efficient way.
