While in college, he landed the lead role in The Jim Morrison Rock Opera as the poetically tragic lead singer of The Doors. The late singer's sister, Anna Morrison Graham and her husband Allan served as producers. After the conclusion of the rock opera, Brock formed his own live musical stage show performing the music of The Doors, the act now known as Wild Child. The live concert show landed at The Whisky A-GoGo on July 3, 1986 It was a triple sellout on its very first night. Since Wild Child debuted, the act has been touring and playing at venues and festivals around the world. How accurate is Brock’s performance as Morrison? In 1992, Brock was noticed by director and producer Robert Zemeckis, who cast Brock as Morrison in the comedy film Death Becomes Her. When New York Mets outfielder Michael Cuddyer announced his retirement a couple of weeks ago, the general reaction of much of the Mets fan base seemed to be ecstacy. It wasn’t so much a slap at Cuddyer as much as it was

joy that their penurious team may have freed up millions to sign a slugger. It’s a shame that age and injuries conspired against Cuddyer in his one season as a Mets player. Mets fans never really got to see a player who was one of the smartest hitters in baseball throughout his career – but what shouldn’t be discounted was Cuddyer's leadership in the clubhouse. He always had a smile on his face and was always accessible to reporters. Younger players (particularly a certain starting pitcher who is trying to market himself based on a DC Comics hero) could learn about how to handle themselves with the media from him. Walker grew up in Pittsburgh and lived in his old room at his parents’ house during his first couple of years with the Pirates. Yes, big league players make good money from day one, but there is always the risk that they will be sent down to the minors. If Rome is serious about launching yet another television effort, he should think about moving to New York. Los Angeles doesn’t seem to work for some unknown reason when it comes to sports talk credibility on the national level. Speaking of CBS, we can all breathe a sigh of relief now that Mike Francesa has agreed to continue his afternoon call-in show on CBSowned WFAN.
I understand the rationale of why Pete Rose continues to be banned by Major League Baseball for gambling on the game – but aren’t MLB executives hypocrites for taking money from Draft Kings and FanDuel? The death of former New York Daily News sports columnist and longtime author Phil Pepe from cardiac failure at age 80 two weeks ago brought many welldeserved tributes from his fellow scribes. What wasn’t noted as much, however, Ryan Fitzpatrick was that Pepe was one of the first New York sports scribes to also have a successful career in radio, as his “Pep Talk” sports commentary was a staple on WCBS-FM’s morning drive show – featuring broadcasting legends Harry Harrison and Dan Taylor – for many years.

season's surprise hits for CBS, “The Odd Couple” starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon, is not slated to return to the prime time schedule until April 7 … There's no word of any discontentment from CBS, but the ratings for “Late Night With Steven Colbert” have stayed well behind those of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC – one published report claimed that the Colbert show had slipped lower in the ratings than NBC's “Late Night With Seth Myers,” which actually airs an hour later, but it was a temporary blip. Jay Leno and David Letterman may be gone, but NBC still rules the roost at 11:30 pm and 12:30 am, just like the just-passed “old days.” Much of the criticism of Colbert's new show seems to be coming from such biased sources as Newsmax and Fox News’ Bill O'Reilly, who claim the show leans left somehow, but even a slight glance at the new program fails to support that concept. Seems the “conservative media” won't forgive Colbert for the character he played on Comedy Central's “The Colbert Report,” the most cutting political satire since the early years of “Saturday Night Live” … As for “SNL”: It's garnered many glowing reviews this season, but they didn't prevent the December 12 show (hosted by “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth) from becoming the lowest rated of this year by a startling margin.

The Madison's Theatre's “house band,” The Swingtime Big Band, will lead the show as it presents a celebration not only of Frank Sinatra's 100th birthday, but of what is widely considered to be his best live recording. Led by director Steven Shaiman, Swingtime and vocalists Jerry Costanzo and Bobbie Ruth will recreate that s night in Las Vegas on December 31, 1965. There’s been a lot going on in the EDM world since I last left. Everything from Deadmau5 threatening to kill his brand, DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs, end of the year shows, and some really big up and coming artists and collaborations. This year has definitely not been lacking of good music, powerful statements, and many surprises along the way. One can only imagine what the New Year will bring. But before we get to that, let’s focus on 2015 and what is to come in the next few weeks. With Richard Joseph Branciforte One artist that has been having an incredible year is NGHTMRE. He’s got insane remixes of songs from groups like Keys N Krates, GTA, Griz, Rae Sremmurd, Lookas, and Porter Robinson; not to mention his collaborations with the likes of Boombox Cartel, Flosstradamus, and Dillon Francis. And yet, it seems like this guy just came out of nowhere. I could generally clasNGHTMRE sify his sound as trap, but he really spans all across the bass spectrum. One of his newest releases, “Street VIP”, really shows the style and energy he brings into his music. He’s currently touring and although he won’t be in NY any time soon, you can easily seek him out if you’re willing to travel. Although on the heavier side, there is an upcoming tour you have to check out. I’m talking about Excision’s Paradox tour with Figure and Bear Grillz with 150,000 watts of sound. But that’s not even the coolest part. The pinnacle of the show is the massive LED screens that engulf the artists, mixed together with beautifully choreographed lighting. The pure power and energy contained in this setup is unparalleled. It is the place to be for heavy bass music, bar none. I wish I could put into words what this setup evokes. The quality and content type of the screens really makes you feel one with the artists and makes you as an audience member feel like a critical part of the show. Lucky for you, the tour will stop by for two days in NYC at the Playstation Theater on February 26 and 27. But if that’s a little too far in advance for you to think about, there are plenty of good shows coming up for you to see. If you’re looking for a good mix of trap and live music, then look no further.

On January 22, Keys Keys N Krates N Krates will be headlining at Terminal 5 along with trap duo Stooki Sound. Stooki Sound is somewhat of a minimalist trap ground, bringing much bass with just enough mids and highs to give the song some flavor but to ultimately keep the focus on the bass. Gives me the feeling like I’m at a show in a dungeon somewhere. But hey, that’s just me. Take that and follow it up with Keys N Krates, one of the best live performances I have ever seen, and you have quite the show. Keys N Krates are so unique in a time when most DJs are criticized for “pressing play.” These guys do the opposite. The play all the songs you would want to hear from a trap group and then they go one step further and mash them up, live. And they always manage to throw an unreleased song or two in there to get you hyped up and Shazaming it, frantically trying to download it immediately on your phone. Now, I’d just like to take this time for a quick honorable mention to the unknown artist, coming out of nowhere this year, and keeping his identity hidden to concentrate on spreading the love of the music: Marshmello. You keep doing you, man. Marshmello’s music (deep, fluffy, hybrid melodic sexy trap as he calls it) is quickly taking the dance community by storm. He came out of nowhere with immediate support from big name producers and labels and has since released several remixes that are both melodically pleasing and good enough to get down to. He seems to come out with a new remix every few weeks and has already begun touring. Whoever you are Marshmello, keep up the good work. The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2016: The Rock Hall has announced its newest inductees, but before we discuss the who, what, and why of it all, I will once again mention my "Most Neglected" choices, some of whom were once

It is ridiculous that year after year these vital sources of what proved to be rock's future look and sound continue to be swept under the carpet. As for the inductees for 2016: The Steve Miller Band – great hit singles, great artist who managed to please both the Top 40 AM and album rock FM audiences at the same time; Cheap Trick, who got signed at Max's Kansas City by Clive Davis and who brought elements of glam into their mainstream rock hits; Deep Purple, a favorite of mine from the 1960s days of "Hush" and their hard cover versions of "Kentucky Woman" and "River Deep Mountain High" blasted into the 70s with Machine Head, as
