Stranger, is usually the main event, along with additional events in Chicago (Nghtmre and Midnight T) and Milwaukee (Boombox Cartel and Kompany). This year, we have the joy of getting two additional events, one in Brooklyn at Avant Gardner featuring a Porter Robinson DJ set. This is on

I’ve only been able to check out the EDM scene in Brooklyn a few times, but from what I’ve seen it’s the ideal area for shows. More artists are choosing warehouses and “alternative” type venues instead of standard Manhattan clubs, giving the shows a more organic feel – as it was when EDM Porter was first Robinson gaining traction. This allows attendees to feel one with the environment and the music, and forms a more cohesive experience. Brooklyn looks great – but you’re trying to take it up a notch, Freaky Deaky Houston is the way to go. After the disappearance of Something Wicked, many festival goers were worried there would be nothing to take its place – but with help from Disco Donnie, a new version of Freaky Deaky was born.
