IMMERSE Conference 2016 Program Book

Page 1

////////////////////// Welcome to I MMERSE 2016 /// I believe the future of Christian & Gospel music rests in your desire to surrender your talents and gifts to God’s high calling. Innovation, creativity, new relationships, open doors, fresh insight and unexpected opportunities are all in store for you this week at IMMERSE.

Development. It’s the business buzzword you hear all the time in the music world especially as we reference “Artist Development”. As you start this conference, here is the question we want to ask - What is God developing in your heart?

You’re here for a purpose; many of you have dreams you are pursuing or you’re on a road of exploration. IMMERSE is a stage set for you to develop the seed that’s planted within you and a safe place for discovery, spiritually and creatively. Every effort you’ve made to get here will be worth it. I recommend that you soak it all in. Look past the diversity of musical styles and take advantage of the wisdom offered and like-minded people around you. Make the most of IMMERSE and its rich atmosphere. Reach out and share your story with others. Watch for divine connections and unexpected inspiration. The GMA staff and I are here to help you have the best experience possible, feel free to call on us.

Most of the time, the music business thinks about how an industry can develop something or someone. At the IMMERSE conference, our mindset is quite different. Our goal is - we want God to develop something in YOU. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:10 As you sit through this week, take lots of notes. Pray. Ask God what He is working on in your heart. What is He preparing to do? How is He going to use you in ways that you haven’t imagined? Let HIM develop YOU. Let HIM birth something fresh, new and exciting in your heart. Our prayer is that God develops something in you that only HE can do.

All the best,

Jackie Patillo Blessings,

President and Executive Director, Gospel Music Association

Chris Erlanson

//////////////////////////////////////////// Event Info /// When do I need to wear my name badge?

All day, everyday. Your badge allows you to get into the sessions, competitions, and evening concerts. Oops - I lost my name badge. What do I do?

Stop by the main customer service desk and the kind folks will replace your lost badge. Cost for replacement is $25. How will I know if a class or speaker changes?

Change happens. So if a location or teacher gets revised, an announcement will be made during the morning general session. You can also check the schedule at www.ExperienceImmerse.com/ schedule/

I have a request and need to talk to a GMA rep. How do I find them?

The GMA staff is always happy to help answer any questions you may have. Stop by the main customer service desk and they will do their best to touch base with a staff member. I’d like to purchase additional tickets to the event concerts. How do I do that?

Tickets for open seats can be purchased at the customer service desk. REMINDER: Standing in line is not normally pleasant. Please do not cut in or save positions for friends in concert or session lines. We appreciate your consideration of others. IMMERSE 2016 | 19
