Birds chirping, sun shining, and rabbits hiding eggs (not really)

Easter Activities Unleash your inner kid and go back to the “good old times.”

1. Paint Easter eggs One of my favorite Easter activities (other than eating). You can make all sorts of patterns on it. Don’t worry, the Easter bunny will love it! 2. Hide and seek Let someone hide the eggs (in the garden, house, etc.) and then go on a scavenger hunt. 3. Egg hop relay race Organize a race. The kids and adults can both have fun. Let’s hope nobody drops those eggs unless they’re fake. 4. Plant something Easter is considered as the holiday to start anew, so why not plant something and let the Earth start fresh too? 5. Easter Themed Party Yay! A new excuse to host a party~ Holidays = party time. You can also say it’s a time for friends and family to gather together. It’s fun either way.

Tips for Songkran Splash water on strangers, they won’t get mad, kekeke :)

1. Don’t bring your belongings (or put them in a waterproof bag). 2. Want to stay dry? Stay inside then. There’s no way you’ll stay dry while walking around during Songkran. 3. The grey-white paste people use might sting if it goes in your eye, so rinse it out immediately if it accidentally goes near your eye. 4. Please don’t soak people on motorcycles: they might be surprised and have an accident. 5. DON’T wear white! It goes see-through.

Book Recommendations These are some of my favorite books, enjoy!

Character Traits: In our opinion, we think they are “courageous”. What we found from these three people is that, they all tend to promote positive attitudes and behaviors to the public. Not all Aries are positive, but they have the “confident” temperament deep inside themselves. Even though they might face criticism, they still show their “optimistic” way of thinking regardless.

19 | THE HOWL | April 2018

For example, Robert Downey Jr. has been in jail before due to a full-fledged addiction to drugs. Criticism came after him for whatever he did. Current Affairs with Johnny, soon to be Diplomat Jirapat Tangittipalakorn (Johnny) Nowadays, China has become one of the most superpower nation of the world. You might ask, what’s the problem with China becoming a world superpower? The problem is here: its power. After China abolished its monarchy and established its first democratic government, it hadn’t been a “superpower”, despite China’s population and land area. They have been at war, conflicts within the country, poverty, and famine. After Mao Zedong became the father of China, China is still growing at a very slow pace. On the other hand, Republic of China, is growing rapidly with the aid from the United States and other East Asian countries, like Japan and South Korea. In the late 1970s, People’s Republic of China was led by a very progressive leader: Deng XiaoPing. He led the first economic reform of China. This has made China gained its economic opportunities with other neighboring countries and more “voice” on the world’s stage. From that point onwards, China has been developing at a exponential rate. According to Google Public Data,

Everlasting Life You might have heard of the story of this Chinese emperor, Qin Shi Huang, who wanted to become immortal. He spent most of his fortune to find the potion of immortality, but he died miserably by eating a mercury pill given by his physician. Do what you fear most, and you control fear. But, as you can see, it doesn’t work that way. Even if we are immortal, future generations would see us as an ape or historical piece from a national museum. You may ask why should we pursue to live forever, since it is far-fetched idea that we could live forever. Imagine death. Easy, right? You die, you’re gone. Now, imagine there is no heaven after we die and only nothingness? You see, it’s impossible to comprehend nothingness because of mortality paradox. Mortality paradox is a term to describe our absurd ideas of what afterlife would be when there is nothing we could expect. Since we couldn’t comprehend nothingness, and there is this mortality paradox, some people started to pursue to live forever. I will tell you that immortality is not the answer. Then how do you live forever? If it’s not immortality, what could possibly make us live forever? My ninth grade English teacher, Mr. A, once said: “Think outside of the box.”There are in fact a lot of ways to live forever. The easiest way is to have children; it is called ‘fitness’ in biology. Organism’s success is to pass on its genes to their children;we will be forever remembered inside of someone’s body, and this is a way to live forever. As Einstein once said, “our death is not an end if we can live on in our children, for they are us; our bodies are only wilted leaves on

26 | THE HOWL | April 2018

the tree of life.” However, you may argue that you will die a virgin, or you are going to be married to someone of the same sexes. Or maybe you die young just like my brother. Sad to be you, but I might be like you guys: to die a virgin. After all, the fittest one live. You don’t need to worry. Isaac Newton died a virgin, but does that mean he doesn’t lived forever. No, we know him because he lived forever. Achilles, in the book Iliad by Homer, chose to have eternal glory over immortality, because he knew that he would historically aware by everyone and thus live forever in history. Remember one thing, if you don’t commit, you will be a loser of the society and will not forever be remember by anyone. Like me in sports day, hat we do echoed in infinite of time. I know, surviving in this society is all about losers and winners. Losers get kick out from the society and die a miserable life, but, do you guys ever look at the stars every night admiring their beauty? I do, it reminds me of that stars are dead. Even if they are dead, they shine the brightest in the night sky. We can only see several dozen stars, right? Yes, it is like we all know who Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, Nikolas Tesla, Socrates, Aristotle and much more great people are, but not Shih Huang Ren. If you are curious who he is, he was my brother. Anyhow, they shine the brightest. Those brightest stars belong to people who have done great deeds and commitments to the humanity; however, scientists knew that there were more stars than what we see as we knew there are billions of people exist in the history. Even though, some stars don’t shine, but that doesn’t mean they never exist. Same to that there are billions of minors who passed away, but that doesn’t mean they were erased from history. I want to ask you: aren’t we all just a star drifting in the universe to find a place where you belong, and trying to light up

27 | THE HOWL | April 2018

the night and to give faith? Love doesn’t die when someone dies just like my brother. You don’t know what love is, because you never truly love someone more than you love yourself until you realize it was too late. Love is important because when there is love; people remember you. More friends and people admire you, which means more people are going to remember you. Yet, I am afraid that I couldn’t do that. Why? There’s a time when someone cut the line, and we would all probably be upset, but my point is that the person cut the line and said that he had friends, better than having none, like me. At this point, I realized that not a lot of people are aware of my existence., Those guys who were keeping the booth do not care about who cut the line or not, even if I came in first and waited for so long just to get a cone of ice cream. I felt defeated, yet it’s necessary for me to be defeated until a was able to raise my voice to say all of this. What was holding back the idea of living forever through being remembered is that some of us could be forgotten by people. Bing Bong, for example, an imaginary friend made by Riley in the movie Inside Out, because sooner or later, people will forget about you. Being forgotten is like being dead twice, and it is commonly known as to die inside. Everyone still has their own identities, for they are still somebody and not nobody. Everyone deserves to rest in someone's memory and life. Whether he or she had bad impressions on you or he or she hurts you, you don’t have to forgive them, but you must not forget who they are to you - good or bad. They still have the reason to do that and be who they are. We all deserve to be in history and not forever forgotten. Since we don't want to die. There should not be anyone being pushed to the corner since the world is round, not a box. It’s the courtesy that I am talking about, and courtesy is essential to make this idea of living forever

28 | THE HOWL | April 2018

happen. At the end of stories, you should not be remembered as a person with a beautiful face and great wealth, but remembered as a person with a heart and a soul. You know beautiful things don’t ask for attention. At the end, I would like to tell you guys this: no one should live forever if one has to be forgotten or left behind in this world. For we are human, we should treat every single person as if they were also you. Or else, everyone will remember be you as superficial and a fake! But, imagine there’s no one left behind and being forgotten, for we are the shining stars, then imagine how beautiful the night sky would be. It would be a heavenly view that everyone will enjoy.
