The Isel trail Leisurely hiking by the last still free-flowing glacial river in the Alps A unique route through a magical water wonder world with an individual choice of sections. From the sunny Dolomites town Lienz in the green valley basin to the Arctic glacial gateway at the Hohe Tauern National Park. From a carefully cultured landscape into a secluded alpine wilderness. Always accompanied by the refreshing element of water, past water meadows, gravel bars, gorges, rapids and waterfalls: the new Isel trail reveals the pulsating artery of life of Osttirol as a string of fabulous pristine natural beauty. And nature enthusiasts – even without alpine experience – a grandiose mountain world at your feet. 5 stages each approx with 4 to 5,5 hours walking time. Total walking time: approx 22 hours
Lienz valley ground - circular hiking path The circular hiking trail starts and ends at the railway station at Hochstein. It can be hiked by stages and public transport offers the opportunity to get to the next starting stage or for returning back to Lienz. 6 Stages. Total walking time: approx 15 hours Overall length: approx 36 km I: Lienz, parking Hochstein (*MRS) to hamlet Ulrichsbichl/Amlach, approx. 2 hrs II: Ulrichsbichl/Amlach to Lavanter Forcha/Lavant, approx 3 hrs III: Lavanter Forcha to church of Chrysanthen/Nikolsdorf-Nörsach, approx 2 hrs IV: church of Chrysanthen to Dölsach, approx 2 hrs V: Dölsach to Zettersfeld *mountain railways station (MRS), approx 2 hrs VI: Zettersfeld (MRS) to parking Hochstein (MRS), approx 2 hrs
The long Törlweg – 7 Törln, 4 peaks and 3 huts The west-east crossing of the Lienz Dolomites is a special mountain experience for the athletic ambitious. You walk through a magnificent mountain scenery from hut to hut, and in addition, practically in passing, you can beat the most beautiful peaks of the Lienzer Dolomites such as the Große Sandspitze, the Große Gamswiesenspitze or the Spitzkofel. Some are easy to climb, others require alpine skills (via ferrata). The tour can be mastered in 4 to 5 days. 5 stages. Total walking time: approx 16 hours 67
