COO/General Manager's Message
(336) 275-8506
Dear Members,
GCC is many different things to many Members: golf, restaurants, pools, racquet sports and more These can all be seen as separate businesses to some, but at a wonderful club such as GCC, I believe we are not in the business of one particular operation. I believe we are in the business of creating memorable experiences through all that we do in all areas throughout the Club I recently spoke to a Member who told me that several years ago, when he moved to Greensboro with his family, he had no intention of joining a club. However is neighbor to the right was a Member at GCC. His neighbor to the left was a Member of GCC And when he looked over his fence in the backyard his neighbor behind him was a Member at GCC. After six months, he stopped fighting his neighbors and joined GCC! He was so happy to have joined the Club, his family loves GCC - it has become the home away from home He told me that the Club is integral to their lives, and they don’t ever want to give it up. Hearing these stories confirms why everyone working at GCC is happy to do what we do for our Members...creating experiences for life.
We are very excited for all departments and outlets to be fully open to our Membership once again There are still a few items that are left to be addressed from our renovation project. But for the most part, we are up and running and ready to start planning some exciting social events such as the Memorial Day Party at the Irving Park Pools, the Havana Nights Party, Dueling Pianos and much more!
With the Youth Activities Center now open, please join me in welcoming Victoria McCracken as our Youth Activities Coordinator. Victoria has been working with children for over 12 years as a youth pastor, K-12 teacher and acting/piano/dance/vocal coach. Stop by the Youth Activities Center to meet Victoria!
The Board of Directors has started working on the renewal of the Club's Strategic Plan for the upcoming years We have interviewed several well-known
companies to guide us through this process in an efficient manner to address all aspects of the Club's future years. Watch for more information regarding opportunities for Member involvement.
To ensure we receive your comments, concerns, praises or suggestions, the Member Engagement Committee would like to hear from you! Please write to yourclub@greensboroccorg and you will receive a reply You may also visit the website and submit feedback via the link under the drop-down menu of "My Club " We welcome your feedback to assist in creating the Club experience that you are looking for in GCC
In addition to our yourcub@greensboroccorg email, you can also contact me directly with any concerns comments or suggestions at feder@greensboroccorg and I will make sure to get back with you
The staff and I are looking forward to an exciting summer season at the Club!
Yours truly,
Friedrich Eder, CCM, CCE Chief Operating Officer/General ManagerMembership

Member Spotlight: Jim & Deborah Staton
The Statons have been training with Jamie since the summer when the Fitness Center opened, and we were eager to highlight the couple in this edition of the newsletter, as we felt they have valuable experience to share with other Members.
What has been the biggest change for you since beginning training?
Deborah: I’ve gotten stronger, my core, quads and hamstrings all feel stronger. My balance has gotten better but I want to continue improving it. The injuries that I came in with on day one have greatly improved
Jim: I feel stronger, I have more endurance My golf and tennis games have improved, and as Deborah said, my injuries have improved. I can now do pullups where I couldn’t do any when I first started.
How has your approach to exercise changed, if at all, since you have been working out regularly?
Deborah: I enjoy the social aspect, seeing friends and other people in the Fitness Center, I just generally enjoy going to work out
Jim: My approach to using weights has changed, I can see the value of doing reps more slowly. My flexibility has improved, which I really needed I feel that has really helped my tennis and golf game as well
What are your favorite and least favorite exercises?
Deborah: Least favorite is the Farmer’s Carry, my favorite is the back extension.
Jim: Least favorite is squats, favorite is back extension or pull-ups.
Around the World in 90 Days Challenge

Annelise taught us how to slow down and appreciate our food with our five senses We studied how the food felt, smelled, tasted and sounded. Everyone enjoyed the snacks while learning how to eat mindfully!
Irish Step Dance Pop-Up Class
On Saturday, March 18, our very own instructor, Miranda brought Saint Patrick’s Day to GCC! As a competitive Irish Dancer, Miranda was the perfect instructor to show the Members the basics of Irish Step Dance We learned some basic steps like the "one, two, three" skip, "leap," and "jig.” Everyone did a great job learning these dance steps. We found out it isn’t as easy as it looks!
