DISEÑAR EL CONCEPTO

CONCEPT DESIGN

Cuando se toma la decisión de abrir un nuevo establecimiento en el competido mercado del ocio, la hostelería y la hotelería, el propietario o inversor debe ser ambicioso a la hora de afrontar el proyecto.

No se trata de copiar o imitar el estilo de algo que ya existe y parece que va bien, sino de diseñar el concepto completo de lo que se va a ofrecer, partiendo de cero. Y para ello es fundamental conocer al detalle el target del futuro cliente: sus hábitos, intereses, nivel económico, cuándo se mueve, cómo y por qué. La tarea será más sencilla si somos capaces de encontrar un nicho nuevo o al que no se esté atendiendo convenientemente. Algo cada vez más difícil en un mercado global, pero no imposible.

When the decision is taken to open a new establishment in the competitive leisure and hospitality market, the proprietor or investor must approach their project with ambition. They cannot simply copy or imitate the style of an existing establishment which seems to be going well. They must design a whole new concept of what they are going to offer, from scratch. And in order to do this, it is essential that they have detailed knowledge of their target customer: their habits, interests, income level, and when, how and why they move. The task will be easier if they can find a new niche in the market, or one that is not being properly attended to. This is increasingly difficult in a global market, but not impossible.

Los diseños más chic de las pasarelas internacionales se transforman y reinventan creando originales piezas, donde la piel sintética gana terreno. El sillón Queen Kong de una plaza está realizado en madera de nogal y tapizado en pelo sintético negro. Destacan otras piezas de la colección, como un sofá de 5 plazas con respaldos independientes y tapizado en varias telas, una silla diseñada a partir de 5 pentágonos o un sillón acharolado con respaldo de 2 metros de altura.

Una lámpara colgante en horizontal de seda que viene en una serie de tres tamaños diferentes. La armonía reside en sus formas clásicas y movimientos sensuales. Con ese espíritu, los nuevos colores de la seda se llaman Coal (carbón), Stone (piedra), Shell (concha), Sand (arena), y Redwood (secuoya).

Balancín apilable para interiores y exteriores. Con clara influencia española, se basa en la contraposición de ideas acercando artesanía y vanguardia. Emplea cuerdas de poliéster sin alma, a las que se les ha extraído el interior para conseguir su especial acabado plano. Stackable rocking chairs for indoor and outdoor use. With a clear Spanish influence, this design is based in the juxtaposition of ideas about craftsmanship and the artistic vanguard. It makes use of uncoated polyester strips from which she has extracted the center to achieve the distinctive level finish. Con la Serie Up, Gaetano Pesce pone de manifiesto su idea personal sobre la mujer: “La mujer siempre ha sido, a su pesar, prisionera de sí misma. Con estas líneas, me gustaba la idea de darle a este sillón una forma femenina con una bola y una cadena, la imagen tradicional del prisionero.”

Una forma novedosa de sentarse; una manera de semiasiento que permite un respaldo mientras se está de pie, ideal para situaciones informales, donde el espacio está limitado y eventos de pie. No es una silla, no es un taburete, es simplemente un objeto ligero y versátil; apilable y extremadamente útil para catering o espacios temporales.

Fabricado mediante inyección de gas en polipropileno, es resistente a los rayos UVA y al agua. Colores disponibles: blanco, gris y antracita.

Ciento treinta y cinco puertas de diferentes dimensiones que se pueden montar en combinaciones infinitas. Es la respuesta de un proyecto simple pero amplificado por diversas variables: entre ellas, la posibilidad de elegir diferentes tiradores, texturas, colores y acabados. La colección incluye unidades individuales pero también evoluciona mediante la combinación de ellas, ensambladas en una base o en su marco en la pared.

“La silla” como fuente de inspiración, un deseo de crear volúmenes esculturales de la unión de unidades individuales y una serie de patrones geométricos rigurosos. Todos los elementos han llevado a Sara Leonor a crear su primera pieza de arte funcional, Zeed. La opción de apilar las sillas Zeed, incluso boca abajo, respalda la intención de combinar arte y funcionalidad, permitiendo la visualización de esta pieza de mobiliario como una figura escultural más que una serie de elementos individuales.

Fabricado en plástico de ingeniería, es la primera estructura de soporte fabricada utilizando tecnología de modelado por aire de segunda generación. La primera inspiración fue una huella dactilar. Ayala Serfaty tomó la idea de su propia topografía y posteriormente desarrolló una colección con una técnica de tapicería especial, cosida a mano, que recuerda las formas fluidas que se encuentran en la naturaleza.

Following the success of the Gladis Lounge chair which appeared in 2009, Ayala Serfaty created the Gladis collection. The primary inspiration for the collection was a fingerprint. Ayala Serfaty took the idea of her own topography and then developed a collection with a special hand-woven upholstery technique reminiscent of the fluent forms found in nature. www.aquagallery.com

NATURALEZA Y RELAX NATURE AND RELAX

En Emilia Romagna la Famiglia Montanari ha llevado a cabo su propia idea de territorio a Levizzano de Castelvetro, gracias a la empresa agrícola Cà Montanari, que se extiende a lo largo de una superficie de 45 hectáreas. Primero fue el concepto y después nació Opera 02 (trabajo, en italiano).

Un proyecto realizado en una Acetaia (el lugar donde se produce el vinagre balsámico) y que comprende un complejo con un restaurante de alto nivel, un hotel y un spa.

In Emilia Romagna, the Famiglia Montanari has realized her own idea of territory to Levizzano of Castelvetro thanks to the agricultural firm Cà Montanari that it extends him on a surface of 45 hectares. First a concept.., then Opera 02 ( work in italian). This concrete project that today in a Acetaia (where the balsamic vinegar is made) and a Resort with high level restaurant, Hotel and Spa.

El mobiliario del restaurante, la recepción y las habitaciones está realizado por CostaGroup que ha interpretado el proyecto de manera funcional y que ha creado un entorno armonioso y elegante.

La estructura presenta líneas limpias decoradas con detalles en madera y materiales naturales. Las mesas y el mobiliario son de madera natural y el mostrador del bar de mármol blanco. Se han empleado tonos cálidos para los confortables sofás, las cortinas de juta, las paredes de madera de iroco...

El complejo dispone de ocho habitaciones dedicadas a los productos del país (llevan el nombre de "ciruela, vino, miel, sabba, vinagre, callosities, nocino y grappa").

Un trabajo estudiado con todo detalle que vio la luz gracias a la intensa pasión por la tierra. Una mezcla de cultura emiliana en la que la comida biológica, el vino, el vinagre balsámico, la piscina, el spa y las agradables habitaciones representan formas reales de la cultura italiana.

The rooms of the relay are eight rooms dedicated to the products of the country (they take the name of "plum, wine, honey, sabba, vinegar, callosities, nocino, grappa").

A work studied in the least details, born thank to an intense passion for the earth. A mix of emiliana culture where the bio food, the wine, the aromatic vinegar, the swimming pool, the spa and the pleasant rooms represents real forms of Italian culture.

DISEÑO CON VISTAS DESIGN WITH VIEWS

Situado en el pueblo de montaña de El Serrat, en los Pirineos andorranos, el hotel Xalet Bringué ocupa un edificio de piedra y madera totalmente rehabilitado. Su cuidado interiorismo, realizado por El Corte Inglés División Comercial, ha sabido aprovechar las espectaculares vistas del entorno integrándolas de forma natural en el proyecto.

Located in the mountain village of El Serrat, in the Pyrenees of Andorra, the Xalet Bringué hotel occupies a completely renovated stone and wood building. Its well cared for interior, by El Corte Inglés Commercial Division, has been able to take advantage of the spectacular views of the environment integrating them naturally into the project.

A sólo 17 km de Andorra La Vella y a poco más de 4 km de la estación de esquí OrdinoArcalís, se encuentra este hotel de cuatro estrellas que cuenta con 7 plantas en las que se reparten sus 47 habitaciones dobles, entre ellas, 1 suite y 5 cuádruples con buhardilla. Dispone además de un acogedor salón con chimenea, restaurante buffet con un salón plurifuncional, cafetería, zona fitness, spa y garaje. Su restaurante ofrece, igualmente, gran variedad de platos montañeses típicos.

Only 17 km from Andorra La Vella and just over 4 km from the Ordino-Arcalís ski station, stands this four-star hotel, which features 47 rooms of double occupancy on 7 floors, including 1 suite and 5 rooms for four guests with an attic. It also has a welcoming sitting room with a chimney, a buffet restaurant with a multi-purpose room, a caf , fitness center, spa and garage. Its restaurant offers a great variety of typical mountain dishes as well.

La reforma total del edificio original se realizó en base al proyecto de El Corte Inglés División Comercial, en colaboración con la constructora NIVA. El objetivo consistía en la transformación del antiguo hotel Subirá, un establecimiento desactivado desde 2005, para optimizar espacios, reorganizando y eliminando entreplantas. Hubo que ampliar y restaurar la escalera, ubicar un ascensor adaptado, crear la escalera de emergencia exterior y envolver la fachada del edificio en piedra y madera, adecuándolo al paisaje de alta montaña y a las normativas andorranas.

The complete refurbishment of the original building was carried out based on the project by El Corte Inglés Commercial Division, in collaboration with NIVA construction company. The objective was to transform the old hotel Subir , a non-operating establishment since 2005, in order to optimize spaces by reorganizing and eliminating in-between floors. The staircase had to be enlarged and restored, an adapted elevator had to be installed; there was the need to add an emergency staircase in the exterior and to cover the facade of the building in stone and wood, adapting it to the landscape of high mountain and to the Andorran regulations.

El proyecto de interiorismo, finalizado en enero de 2011, incluía también la decoración y equipamiento de las habitaciones y las áreas comunes: recepción, cafetería, restaurante y spa. Y el resultado ha cumplido con la premisa inicial de salirse del tópico del hotel de montaña en piedra y madera, gracias a la utilización de criterios y tendencias actuales de diseño, pero conservando el aspecto tradicional de la fachada.

Desde el acceso principal se hace patente la exclusiva rampa que envuelve la recepción, cafetería, zona de chimenea... y que recrea una atmósfera íntima, cálida y relajada, con el fondo de las impresionantes vistas panorámicas.

Los materiales, texturas y calidades han sido optimizados y tratados conjuntamente.

Todo el mobiliario se ha diseñado especialmente para el hotel, mientras la iluminación, con configuración escenográfica, ha sido un factor de primer orden en el desarrollo de todo el proyecto.

The interior design project, completed in January 2011, included also the decoration and equipment of the rooms and the common areas: front desk, caf , restaurant and spa.

And the result has managed to comply with the initial premise to step away from typical stone and wood mountain hotel, thanks to the implementation of current design criteria and trends, but keeping the traditional aspect of the facade.

The exclusive ramp that wraps up the front desk, caf , chimney area is visible from the main access... and it recreates an intimate, warm, and relaxed ambiance, with the impressive panoramic views in the background.

The materials, textures, and qualities have been optimized and treated jointly. All the furniture has been designed especially for the hotel, while the lighting, with a set-design configuration, has been a leading factor in the development of all the project.

Fusión que también se refleja, de forma muy potente, en el interiorismo, con sello de Ignacio García de Vinuesa. El experimento de mezclar materiales y conceptos clásicos con elementos modernos y materiales novedosos ha dado un resultado espectacular.

Nikkei 225 is, since its inauguration at the end of 2010, the new representative of Asian-Peruvian cuisine in Madrid. Luis Arévalo heads the culinary project and offers a menu that mixes Japanese tradition with traditional recipes from his home country, Peru. This fusion is also reflected, very powerfully, in the interior design, with stamp of Ignacio García of Vinuesa. The experimental idea of mixing classic materials and concepts with modern elements and novel materials has proven to be spectacular.

Dos colores protagonizan el espacio: oro y cobre. El primero prácticamente baña todo el restaurante. Empieza en la sala de la entrada, continua por la barra, sube por el pasillo y comunica con la sala del fondo, donde empieza el cobre, que da un toque especial a esta zona, en la que sorprenden unos paneles de seda serigrafiada con motivos asiáticos retroiluminados.

En todo el local se emplearon materiales exclusivos como el revestimiento de lentejuelas, las molduras con pan de oro en los espejos, tejidos como terciopelo, sedas y polipieles metalizadas. En los paramentos verticales priman los revestimientos vinílicos con diferentes texturas: simulación de madera, pieles o lentejuelas; mientras en los paramentos horizontales, se han utilizado diferentes tipos de mármoles con tratamientos en pasillo y baños.

La gran diversidad de modos de iluminar dan al restaurante una calidez muy particular.

Dos puntos llaman poderosamente la atención: la barra y la bodega. A ellos se les dedicó especial atención bajándoles el techo e iluminándolos indirectamente: La bodega sólo tiene iluminación en el suelo y la barra de vidrio con conchas de madreperla está iluminada interiormente con leds de luz cálida.

En las salas se combinan lámparas suspendidas, que iluminan las mesas centrales, y la barra con carriles metálicos que marcan las lineas de las mesas situadas en el perímetro.

Ambas diseñadas por GDEV. La regulación juega un punto muy importante, ya que proporciona al restaurante una sensación diferente dependiendo de la hora del día. Sin embargo, el punto fuerte de la iluminación se encuentra en el pasillo, nexo de unión entre las dos salas. Por la gran longitud del mismo, se decidió sectorizar con arcos de vidrios con doble capa de seda dorada que se iluminan interiormente con tiras de leds en el inicio y final de cada uno. Este efecto se completa con una iluminación muy tenue en suelo y paredes.

Two colors prevail in the space: gold and copper. The first one practically bathes the entire restaurant. It begins in the reception room, continuous throughout the bar, goes up the hallway and communicates with the room at the back, where the copper begins, providing a special touch to this area, in which some silk-screen printed panels back-lit with Asian motifs surprise the clients.

Exclusive materials were used throughout the restaurant, such as sequined covering, gold-leaf moldings on the mirrors, fabrics such as velvet, silk, and metalized synthetic leathers. The vertical faces showcase vinyl coverings with different textures: faux wood, skins, or sequins; while the horizontal faces feature different types of treated marbles in hallway and bathrooms.

The many different ways of illuminating the space give the restaurant a very special ambiance. Two issues inevitably catch one's attention: the bar and the wine cellar.

Both of them were devoted special attention by lowering the ceiling and illuminating them indirectly: The wine cellar has lighting on the ground only, and the glass bar with mother-of-pearl shells is illuminated from within using warm LED lighting.

The rooms combine hanging lamps that illuminate the central tables and the bar with metallic rails that delineate the lines of the tables placed along the perimeter.

Both have been designed by GDEV. Light dimming is very important, since it provides the restaurant with a different ambiance depending on the time of the day. Nevertheless, the lighting forte is in the hallway, the link between the two rooms. Given the great length of the hallway, it was decided to separate it with glass arches with a double layer of golden silk, which are illuminated from within using rows of LEDs at the start 17

The Gran Hotel Nagari Boutique & Spa in Vigo is the result of the complete remodeling and linking of two buildings. Its decoration has managed to create a balanced, harmonic and luminous space, using fine materials and respecting the original ornamentation of the building. All this has been combined with both cosmopolitan and urban furniture.

El interior del hotel de cinco estrellas se distribuye en bajo, siete plantas y ático. Cuenta con 63 habitaciones tipo loft con espacios que fusionan lo clásico y lo oriental sin renunciar a lo último en tecnología y domótica. Además, dispone de un completo spa de 750 metros cuadrados, una piscina de chorros climatizada y dos jacuzzis, gimnasio, peluquería y dos salas de reuniones. Completa sus instalaciones un restaurante y un lounge: Alameda XXI, que reúne en su carta tradición y vanguardia; y el Manhattan Wine and Lounge, para degustar tapas y pinchos. Su bodega alberga más de 200 referencias nacionales e internacionales.

La cuidada decoración así como la elección de materiales es uno de los puntos fuertes de este establecimiento y base fundamental de su categoría hotel boutique. Se emplearon materiales nobles de primera calidad y, en algunos casos, difíciles de encontrar. En la recepción destaca una pieza de onix negro, considerada semipreciosa, muy difícil de ver en este color. También se han utilizado mallas cerámicas, mármol Blanco Macael, areniscas naturales de Salamanca, papeles plásticos, maderas de fresno, Silestone y Bolon, abundancia de cristal, espejos, cristales litografiados... Piezas exclusivas hechas a mano presiden las distintas estancias.

En las habitaciones predomina el blanco, plata, oro y negro, mientras que en zonas comunes, como el spa, se introducen colores fuertes que dotan de modernidad al conjunto. Además, y con el fin de sorprender al cliente en cada una de sus visitas, el proyecto decorativo incluye diferente ambientación y colores según plantas. Entre las piezas de diseño destacan las de Gandía Blasco, las de Jaime Hayón (lámpara Josephine Queen), de Philippe Starck (lámpara Gun Table), sillas de Enrico Franzolini o de Patricia Urquiola (taburete y silla Maia). Destaca también la lámpara Ameba, de Pete Sons.

El mobiliario cuidadosamente seleccionado se completa con una importante colección de antigüedades de la cultura oriental: gong de bronce Thai del siglo XX, buda de madera del siglo XVIII con restos de policromía original, torres de jardín de madera del siglo XVIII, procedentes de Camboya, y quimono del jefe de los eunucos de la Ciudad Prohibida del S XIX, entre otros.

The interior of the five-star hotel spreads along the ground floor, seven floors, and the attic. It showcases 63 loft-type rooms with spaces that merge the classical and the oriental without relinquishing the latest in technology and automation. Furthermore, it has a complete spa in 750 square meters, a heated pool with water jets and two jacuzzis, a gymnasium, a salon and two conference rooms. The hotel's facilities include a restaurant and a lounge: Alameda XXI, which merges tradition and vanguard in its menu; and the Manhattan Wine and Lounge, to taste tapas and pinchos. Its wine cellar holds more than 200 national and international bottles.

The meticulous decoration and fabric selection are the strong features of this establishment and the basis for its categorization as a boutique hotel. The fine materials used are top-quality and, in some cases, a rare find. In the reception area there is a black onyx piece, considered a semiprecious stone, very hard to find in this color. Some other materials used are ceramic borders, Blanco Macael marble, Salamanca natural sandstone, plastic papers, ash wood, Silestone and Bolon, an abundance of crystal, mirrors, lithographed crystals... Exclusive handmade pieces prevail in the different rooms.

White, silver, gold, black, dominate in the bedrooms while strong colors are introduced in the common areas, such as the spa, to endow with modernity the rooms as a whole. Furthermore, in order to surprise the client in each one of its visits, the decorative project includes different setting designs and colors on the different floors. Among the design pieces, those that prevail are by Gandía Blasco, those by Jaime Hayón (Josephine Queen lamp), by Philippe Starck (Gun Table lamp), chairs by Enrico Franzolini or by Patricia Urquiola (Maia stool and chair). The Ameba lamp by Pete Sons also stands out.

The carefully selected furniture is completed with an important collection of antiquities of the oriental culture: Thai bronze gong of the 20th century, a wooden Buddha of the 18th century impregnated with the original range of colors, wooded garden towers of the 18th century original from Cambodia, a kimono belonging to chief of the eunuchs of the Forbidden City of the 19th century, among others.

Inaugurado en diciembre de 2010, este local de ocio nocturno se encuentra ubicado en una céntrica zona de copas de Valladolid. Su forma singular le confiere una composición alargada, acentuada por la gran altura de algunas zonas, en tanto el juego de brillos y luces otorga a Silk una atmosfera sensual y sofisticada.

Inaugurated in December 2010, this lounge bar is located in a central bar area of Valladolid. Its singular shape gives it an extended composition, accentuated by the great heights of some of the areas, while the glittering and lighting effects provide Silk with a sensual and sophisticated ambiance.

Desde la entrada, una gran imagen, sugerente, sensual y elegante, da la bienvenida al local e inspira el nombre de este espacio con planta, claramente longitudinal y una altura, que llega hasta los 5 metros en algún punto, y que aparenta un espacio de mayor anchura de la que realmente tiene. Esto ha marcado el desarrollo de todo el proyecto definiendo los elementos de su mobiliario, la iluminación y la ubicación de los diferentes ambientes. En tanto, el pavimento del suelo en porcelánico rectificado, juega con los brillos que contiene y los creados por el papel de tonos dorados que revisten las paredes, ayudando a crear una atmosfera sofisticada.

Un marcado aire cool preside este local realizado por Tecopysa y Qvoarquitectura Interior, con un interiorismo que pretende hacer dialogar los dos lados del local. El derecho contiene unas pinceladas vintage, de la mano de la repetición de los motivos neobarrocos del papel metalizado de las paredes, que consiguen dar la sensación de mayor espacio. Mientras, el lado izquierdo, de líneas más limpias, acoge la barra principal y el botellero. Todo este debate entre ambos muros queda elegantemente moderado por la iluminación realizada mediante led RGB y punteado por la singularidad de las lámparas cuidadosamente escogidas. Al fondo del local se encuentran los baños cuyas puertas se integran perfectamente en el muro y están señalizadas con una original leyenda vertical.

Del mobiliario destacan las mesas en L, realizadas “ad hoc” para este espacio, y las barras de formas limpias. Al fondo del local una mesa alta en forma de U, en línea con las anteriores, delimita la zona vip, en la que el cambio de altura de los techos ayuda a la hora de proporcionar un ambiente mas intimo.

At the entrance, a great image -suggestive, sensual, and elegant- welcomes you to the bar and inspires the name of this space with a clearly longitudinal floor plan and heights that reach up to 5 meters at some point, and which makes the space feel wider than what it really is. This has marked the development of the whole project, defining the elements of its furnishings, the lighting, and the location of the different rooms. On the other hand, the floor in rectified porcelain tiles produces a special effect with its own glitter and the one created by the golden hues of the paper that covers the walls, helping to create a sophisticated ambiance.

A clear cool ambiance invades the space created by Tecopysa and Qvoarquitectura Interior, with an interior design that pretends to prompt a debate between the two sides of the bar. The right side showcases some vintage brushstrokes that recreate the neo baroque motifs of the metalized wallpaper, which manages to give the feeling of a larger space. Meanwhile, the left side, with cleaner lines, holds the main bar and the wine rack. This debate between both walls is elegantly moderated by the lighting, achieved by means of RGB Leds and dotted by the singularity of the carefully chosen lamps. At the end of the bar are the restrooms, whose doors are perfectly integrated into the wall and which are indicated with an original vertical legend.

Regarding the furnishings, the L-shaped tables make a standpoint; they have been made "ad hoc" for this space, as well as the clean-line bars. At the end of the bar there is a U-shaped high table, on the same lines as the others, which delimits the VIP area, in which the change of height of the ceilings help at the time of providing with a more intimate ambiance.

Surrounded by dunes that border a long sandy beach, The Romanos, in Messinia, Greece, forms part of the exclusive complex designed by MKV Design, which in turn is part of the luxurious Costa Navarino project. The first phase of a new, sustainable and high quality holiday destination in the Mediterranean.

1.- Después de haber conducido a través de olivares repoblados y ahora yuxtapuestos al cuidado césped de The Dunes Course -el primer campo de golf griego-, los huéspedes llegan a la “mansión privada” de The Romanos para descubrir una experiencia única.

En la imagen, el imponente lobby de entrada de The Romanos es monumental. Una moderna interpretación de un antiguo templo griego que juega con la escala y los materiales para enmarcar hacia el Mar Jónico la vista de los huéspedes cuando llegan, así como para actuar como mecanismo de orientación cuando van a explorar el lugar. Sus referencias directas proceden del cercano Palacio de Néstor -el rey que encarnó el espíritu de la verdadera hospitalidad en la Odisea-, pero su papel en el complejo es el de un lugar de transición.

Having driven through the replanted olive groves, now juxtaposed to the manicured lawns of The Dunes Course, the first Greek golf course, guests arrive at the "private mansion" of The Romanos, to discover a unique experience.

In the picture, the impressive entrance lobby of The Romanos is monumental. A modern interpretation of an ancient Greek temple that plays with scale and materials to guide the guests' view towards the Ionian Sea when they arrive, and to act as a point of orientation when setting of to explore the hotel. Its direct references come from the nearby Palace of Nestor, the king who embodied the spirit of true hospitality in the Odyssey, although its role within the complex is as a place of transition.

2 y 3.- En el interior del lobby el suelo es una réplica de los mosaicos del Palacio de Néstor. El neutro entorno de piedra y los tradicionales techos de madera vista consiguen una estructura clásica y espectacular. A cada lado, las puertas de marquetería de bronce de doble altura se abren a las dos alas del hotel de baja altura y curvado a lo largo de la línea de costa que queda debajo. Está amueblado con lujosas sillas altas y chaise-longues.

Las obras de arte del hotel han sido elegidas meticulosamente en colaboración con un historiador de arte griego con el fin de presentar el trabajo de jóvenes artistas griegos mediante la pintura, la escultura, la fotografía y el arte web. Los temas exploran la ecología de Navarino Dunes y la belleza de Messinia al igual que la relación del hombre con el entorno natural.

Las formas interiores de los pasillos son casi monásticas, reflejan la arquitectura de los pueblos locales y permiten que la vista haga todo el trabajo.

Inside the lobby the floor is a replica of the tiled floors of the Palace of Nestor, the subtle effect of traditional stone and timbered ceilings creates a classic and spectacular structure. On each side, the double-height doors with bronze inlay open to the two wings of the low-rise hotel which curves along the coastline that lies below. It is furnished with luxurious high chairs and chaise-longues.

The artwork in the hotel has been carefully chosen in collaboration with a Greek art historian, in order to present the work of young Greek artists through their painting, sculpture, photography and web art. The themes explore the ecology of the Navarino Dunes and the beauty of Messinia as well as man's relationship with the natural environment.

The interior shapes of the corridors are almost monastic, and reflect the architecture of the local villages, allowing the view to speak for itself.

ESTABLISHMENT: The Romanos. Located in Messinia, Greece, in the exclusive hotel resort of Navarino Dunes, which in turn is part of the luxurious Costa Navarino project. Consisting of the conference center House of Events, The Dunes Course and the Anazoe Spa, they are the ďŹ rst completed phase of a bold vision and a 20-year view to create a new sustainable and quality destination in the Mediterranean. It belongs to The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts. | AUTHORS OF THE PROJECT: Designed by MKV Design, Property: Temes SA. | INTENTION AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORK: For MKV Design, the initial canvas was Messinia, one of the oldest parts of Greece, land where legend and history combine with the sacred art of hospitality. The location was also excellent, and, from the beginning, the proprietor was determined to preserve, celebrate and improve the natural environment. All these elements were decisive in the instinctive approach to the site design. Maria VaďŹ adis, founder of MKV Design, explained, "We believe that those who travel for pleasure do not want to live history but to feel it within a contemporary experience, so, working with the master plan of the architects, we have tried to reinvent the soul of Navarino Dunes in a way which is relevant today". | MAIN DECORATING GUIDELINES: The origins of the region have been intertwined with a timeless architectural design and contemporary furnishings and accessories, not only in The Romanos but in all the buildings in the complex, creating layers of interwoven experiences which envelop the guest. 4, 5 y 6.- El Anax Lounge se extiende a partir de un lado del vestíbulo. Aquí, las líneas griegas clásicas y esculturales se combinan con elegantes piezas de mobiliario y lámparas independientes, y los materiales naturales locales como la madera, la piel, el bronce y la piedra reiteran el compromiso de sostenibilidad.

MKV planificó cuidadosamente este gran espacio como una secuencia de experiencias otorgando a los huéspedes variedad y protección, así como exposición al clima y a la ubicación.

En el lado frente al mar, el Anax Lounge empieza fuera con una terraza hundida y rodeada por uno de los pequeños canales que atraviesan el lugar. A lo largo fluye una columnata de cristal en la que una destacable colección de grabados del siglo XVIII cuenta la historia de la gran batalla marina que tuvo lugar en la Bahía de Navarino.

El espacio principal está situado detrás y se trata de una zona de sorprendente volumen donde la estructura de piedra se eleva hasta un techo de madera vista con una acogedora zona de “librería” en un extremo y alrededor de una chimenea abierta, y un bar con mosaico de cristal turquesa en el otro.

Durante el día, los rayos de sol procedentes de pequeñas ventanas situadas en la parte alta de esta estructura cruzan la estancia; por la noche, la iluminación exterior hace brillar el bar. Una zona elevada con un techo bajo crea la siguiente estancia que incluye mesas de juego y billares, y por último otra terraza proporciona vistas al grupo de edificios de piedra y madera.

The Anax Lounge extends from one side of the lobby. Here, the classical Greek lines and sculptural pieces are combined with elegant furniture and stand-up lamps and local natural materials such as wood, leather, bronze and stone demonstrate the commitment to sustainability.

MKV carefully planned this great space as a sequence of experiences, giving guests variety and protection from, as well as exposure to, the climate and location.

On the sea-facing side, the Anax Lounge begins outside with a sunken terrace surrounded by small canals which run throughout the area. Along its length runs a colonnade of glass in which a remarkable collection of eighteenth century prints tells the story of the great sea battle that took place in the Bay of Navarino.

The main area is located behind this and it is a surprisingly extensive area, where the stone structure reaches up to a wooden roof with an inviting "library" at one end surrounding an open fireplace and a bar decorated with turquoise glass tiles at the other. During the day, the sun's rays penetrate the small windows at the top of the structure and extend across the space; at night, the exterior lighting illuminates the bar. A raised area with a low ceiling forms the next room which includes table games and billiards; and, finally, another terrace provides views of the group of buildings made from stone and wood.

7, 8 y 9.- El Pero Restaurant -abierto todo el día- también es una secuencia de escenarios que en este caso fluyen orgánicamente por todo el suelo de una de las alas y alrededor de las terrazas.

La zona de la entrada con un techo bajo tipo cueva y grandes puertas de bronce acristaladas que dan a las bodegas contrasta de forma espectacular con el espacio principal semiabierto que hay detrás y en el que sencillos arcos de piedra enmarcan la vista hasta el Mar Jónico.

Una cocina abierta recoge los alegres colores locales en sus azulejos de cerámica en azul intenso y blanco, y las campanas de horno en azul cobalto. Las mesas altas y los taburetes dan paso a mesas de comedor más formales y luego a una zona más alejada perfecta para un comedor privado en el que pantallas de bronce hechas a mano y que representan las flores de Messinia ofrecen separación y privacidad.

Fuera, el Pero Restaurant baja en cascada desde una columnata hacia las piscinas en una serie de cubiertas que parecen flotar en el agua de alrededor. The Restaurant - which is open all day - is a sequence of areas that in this case flow organically around the floor of one wing and around the terraces.

The entrance area, with a cave-like low roof and large bronze windowed doors which lead to the wine cellars, contrast spectacularly with the semi-open main area behind, in which simple stone arches frame the view to the Ionian Sea. An open kitchen incorporates the bright local colors in its ceramic tiles of bright blue and white and the cobalt blue oven hoods. The high tables and stools give way to more formal dining tables and from there to a more remote area, perfect for a private dining room, in which handmade bronze screens, decorated with the flowers of Messinia, section off the area and maintain its privacy.

Outside, the Pero Restaurant cascades down from a colonnade to the pools in a series of terraces that seem to float on the surrounding water. In a raised area, pergolas provide a romantic setting for an intimate dinner and the restaurant continues towards a grill area where the food is cooked in the open air under the old olive trees.

Las suites han sido cuidadosamente diseñadas para garantizar vistas a la piscina y al mar tanto desde la bañera como desde la cama. Todas las habitaciones de lujo disponen de vistas al mar y de terrazas o balcones espaciosos con zonas de estar; casi todas las habitaciones de la planta baja disponen también de piscinas privadas. The Romanos has 321 rooms and suites. Its simplicity of form is fundamental: abundant natural materials such as the local stone and wood, bronze and linens.

The furniture and accessories are chic and contemporary. Each room has a stunning “signature” wall panel made of plaster and with a design that recalls the monumental geometrical shapes of ancient Greek architecture. The suites have been carefully designed to ensure views of the pool and the sea both from the bath and the bed.

All the deluxe rooms have sea views and spacious terraces or balconies with seating areas, almost all the ground floor rooms also have private pools. The bathrooms are made from white Greek marble with fine bronze details.

12, 13 y 14.- En la zona más apartada del lugar hay un grupo de villas, cada una con amplias zonas exteriores privadas y con su propia playa. Coronándolas se encuentra la villa presidencial Villa Real Koroni. Sus 640 m² en tres niveles incluyen una suite de talasoterapia y sauna, un gimnasio, un dormitorio principal con dos vestidores, dos dormitorios adicionales y zona de servicio.

El agua que fluye suavemente conecta el exterior con el interior y está canalizada desde la piscina hasta la planta baja donde hace circular la escalera y el ascensor. Las dos zonas principales de la planta baja son el salón y el comedor con su impresionante volumen de doble altura que se eleva hacia una galería que alberga un estudio bajo con un tradicional techo de madera vista hecho a mano. Las paredes están terminadas en capas alternas de cremoso estuco pulido que genera una envoltura elegante y muy sutil.

In the most remote part of the site is a group of villas, each with a large private outdoor area with its own beach. Crowning them is the presidential Koroni Royal Villa.

Its 640 m² on three levels include a thalassotherapy suite and sauna, a gym, master bedroom with two wardrobes, two additional bedrooms and service area.

The softly flowing water connects the exterior and interior and is channeled from the pool to the ground floor where it circulates around the staircase and elevator. The two main areas of the ground floor are the lounge and dining room with their impressive double height spaciousness rising to a gallery which houses a studio under a traditional, handmade, timbered roof. The walls are finished in alternating layers of subtle and elegant creamy polished stucco.

SENTIDO GEOMÉTRICO GEOMETRIC SENSE Enclavado en una pequeña y tranquila calle en la cima del distrito multicultural de Montmartre, en París, se encuentra Kube, un hotel retrofuturista, perteneciente a la cadena Desing Hotels, que desafía los clichés clásicos de la ciudad. Su decoración y mobiliario se inspiran en la ciencia-ficción de los años 60 creando un festín para la vista y el oído.

Nestled in a quiet street on top of the multicultural district of Montmartre in Paris, is Kube, a retro-futuristic hotel, part of the Design Hotels chain, which challenges the traditional clichés of the city. Its decor and furnishings are inspired by the science fiction of the 60s, creating a feast for the eyes and ears.

1 y 2.- Al entrar en Kube, a los visitantes se les perdonará que piensen que están paseando por el escenario de una película de ciencia-ficción de los años 60. Tras una fachada estilo Haussman, el patio del reformado edificio del siglo XIX presenta un cubo transparente de plexiglás en el que se ubican las instalaciones de recepción y recuerda las pirámides de I. M. Pei del patio del Louvre.

En la foto grande, un enorme vestíbulo con restaurante y bar conforma el corazón del Hotel Kube. Un espacio futurista y poco iluminado que cuenta con techos altos y decoración en acero inoxidable, así como con un sistema de tecnología punta camuflado dentro de faroles rojos en el techo. Al caminar a través del elegante bar que forma el corazón del hotel, se verá transportado a un espacio más futurista con altos techos, rejillas de acero inoxidable, cortinas hasta el techo y un largo mostrador en plata mate para descansar. Los asientos cúbicos y las sillas de salón decoradas en piel contrastan con el vidrio negro de las paredes que, a su vez, se animan con una fila completa de televisores con pantalla de plasma.

On entering Kube, visitors would be forgiven for thinking that they were walking through the scenery of a science fiction movie from the 60s. Behind a Haussman-style facade, the courtyard of the renovated nineteenth century building has a transparent Plexiglas cube that houses the reception area and recalls the I.M. Pei pyramid in the courtyard of the Louvre.

In the big photo, a huge lobby, with restaurant and bar, forms the heart of the Kube Hotel. A futuristic, dimly lit space featuring high ceilings and stainless steel decoration, as well as a high-tech system camouflaged within red lights on the ceiling. As you walk through the elegant bar that forms the heart of the hotel, you will be transported to a more futuristic space with high ceilings, stainless steel grills, curtains to the ceiling and a long counter in matte silver where you can relax. The square seats and lounge chairs decorated in leather contrast with the black glass of the walls, which in turn, are illuminated by a full row of plasma screen televisions.

The elegant and comfortable rooms and suites are arranged around an open courtyard. The decoration includes faux leather, square bathtubs, bean-bag chairs and under-lit beds, lending them a subtly supernatural, warm glow.

The large rooms are designed for the modern traveler. Each room is equipped with: Digital door opening; LCD screen TV and Sony PS3 gaming console; High-speed cable and wireless internet; mini bar; Illy coffee maker and safe.

Passing through the crystallized landscape towards the bathroom which opens onto the bedroom, the collection of rectangular features by Philippe Starck, for Duravit, aptly-named "Jelly Cubes", combines perfectly with the showers made of specially fabricated high-tech Corian matte glass cubes.

10, 11 y 12.- Irradiando una brillante sensación fría en los espacios públicos, por contra las habitaciones y suites del Kube suben un poco la temperatura con ligeros toques añadidos a la temática geométrica del Ártico. Las cortinas de piel de imitación otorgan al espacio una sensación delicada a la vez que realzan el chic del mobiliario de Raymond Morel en colores pastel y vidrio mate. Una foto gigante preside la cabecera de la cama. La tecnología biométrica de huella dactilar controla el acceso a las habitaciones. La impresión general del hotel es la de una confortable cápsula del espacio, una divertida visión de futuro.

Radiating a crisp, bright feel in the public spaces, in the Kube rooms and suites the temperature rises slightly with light touches added to the geometric Arctic theme. The faux leather curtains lend the interior a delicate feel while enhancing the chic Raymond Morel pastel and frosted glass furniture. A giant picture presides over the headboard. Biometric fingerprint technology controls access to the rooms.

The overall impression of the hotel is a comfortable space capsule, a fun vision of the future.

Este espectacular espacio destinado al ocio y tratamientos corporales incorpora en su interiorismo elementos y materiales diferentes de colores nítidos y brillantes para crear paisajes extraordinarios de aspecto tridimensional que transmiten paz y calma.

The Oasis Club, located on the mainland in Chengdu, China, combines absolute luxury with the sensation of being in a theme park of the universe. This spectacular space, created for leisure and body treatments, incorporates original elements within its interior, of bright, vibrant colors, to create extraordinary 3D landscapes which transmit peace and tranquility.

In the impressive lobby, a contemporary lighting design has taken the form of a brilliant sculpture in the shape of a hedgehog, which radiates life into this urban space, designed for leisure and relaxation. Behind the central meeting point you will find a lounge with an original 3D spatial design. Bright and cheerful colors, such as yellow, orange and blue, indicate the clients' shared leisure area. ESTABLECIMIENTO: Oasis Club. Club privado situado en el área continental de Chengdu, China, perteneciente a un proyecto residencial lujoso. Cuenta con cuatro plantas y un total de 25.000 m2 con diferentes espacios para el ocio y el esparcimiento: desde servicios de cafetería a un complejo con instalaciones de spa con todo tipo de tratamientos y masajes. | AUTORES DEL PROYECTO: Diseño: Patrick Leung, PAL Design Consultants de Hong Kong. Cliente: Inmobiliaria Townowner.| INTENCIONALIDAD Y FILOSOFÍA DE LA OBRA: Este club privado se centra en un enfoque contemporáneo en la presentación de sus servicios destinados a jóvenes profesionales de la zona. Responde a un sentido de ingenio lúdico e imaginativo y tiene como objetivo ser un refugio para la relajación dentro del bullicio de la ciudad. Los diseñadores tenían un presupuesto ajustado y un tiempo de ejecución de 12 meses. Esto provocó que los materiales fuesen de origen local, lo que finalmente tuvo un efecto beneficioso al reducir el impacto ambiental del proyecto. | PRINCIPALES PAUTAS DECORATIVAS: Nuevo concepto de diseño espacial en el que se mezclan ocio, agua, spa y elementos divertidos para trans3

formarlos en un oasis de paz y tranquilidad. Las diferentes áreas tienen

su propio estado de ánimo, creado gracias al uso de varias paletas de color y distintas técnicas de iluminación. Las olas son un tema recurrente en el diseño y aparecen en las paredes de yeso curvas y en los arcos escultóricos de los distintos espacios. PAL ha logrado en este proyecto un interesante equilibrio entre diseño extravagante y lujoso.

It has four oors and a total of 25,000 m2, with different areas for leisure and relaxation, from cafe to spa complex, with a variety of treatments and massages. | AUTHORS OF THE PROJECT: Design: Patrick Leung, PAL Design Consultants of Hong Kong. Client: Townowner Real Estate. | INTENTION AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORK: This private club has used a contemporary focus in the presentation of its services, aimed at young professionals in the area. It has an inherent sense of fun and imagination and is intended as a relaxation haven within the bustle of the city. The designers had a tight budget and time-limit of 12 months. This meant that the materials were of local origin, which ultimately added the beneďŹ t of reducing the environmental impact of the project. | MAIN DECORATING GUIDELINES: A new concept of space design which mixes leisure, water, spa and fun elements and transforms them into an oasis of peace and tranquility. The different areas have their own moods, created through the use of various color palettes and lighting techniques. Waves are a recurrent theme in the design and appear in the curved plaster walls and sculptured arches throughout the complex. With this project, PAL has achieved a sophisticated equilibrium between extravagant and luxurious design.

6, 7, 8 y 9.- En la planta donde se sitúan las instalaciones de spa el color es más luminoso. En la recepción del spa, se pueden ver puntos púrpuras decorando una pared en forma de arco curvado blanco y brillante consiguiendo un aspecto de espacio nítido y relajante. (Imagen de arriba a la izquierda). Abajo a la izquierda, en las salas de tratamiento, con paredes curvas en azul marino, se ofrecen los servicios de masajes de pies a precios populares. La gran cantidad de paredes de curvas onduladas en todo este espacio fomentan la sensación de espiritualidad. La paleta de color en azul marino, verde lago y blanco puro ha sido la elegida para vestir la zona principal; mientras el color naranja, amarillo y púrpura domina el área de reunión para los clientes. The colors are lighter on the spa facilities floor. At the spa reception you will see the purple spots decorating a bright white wall in a curved arc which creates a clean, relaxing space. (Image above left). Downstairs, on the left, in the treatment rooms with the curved sea blue walls, you can indulge in a foot massage at affordable prices. The abundance of curved walls throughout this space creates a sense of spirituality. 10, 11, 12 y 13.- En la foto de arriba a la izquierda: En el área central de consigna hay una mini piscina con forma oval. Enfrente de la piscina, una hilera de duchas, una sauna y una sala de vapor. Al llegar a la zona de tratamientos el diseño de espacio en forma de laberinto ofrece 16 salas.

Las líneas curvas se expanden en fronteras espaciales que parecen interminables. Las paredes con características onduladas, los muebles de diseño vanguardista y las alfombras contrastadas ofrecen modernidad y dinamismo a todo el conjunto. Este nivel vuelve al color oscuro como el verde jade, el azul púrpura y el dorado miel para ofrecer un efecto de suave iluminación.

The curved lines expand in seemingly endless spatial boundaries. The undulating walls, cutting-edge furniture design and contrasting rugs offer modernity and dynamism throughout.

14, 15, 16 y 17.- En la planta superior está la zona spa VIP, con 8 salas de tratamiento y un spa lujoso solo para los residentes exclusivos.

Cada habitación privada cuenta con un mini-teatro, un jacuzzi, una sauna y una sala de vapor. Algunas de ellas incluyen una terraza para un jacuzzi al aire libre y un solárium. La habitación más grande incluye una pequeña piscina interior con control de temperatura.

La decoración con mosaico y guijarros tiene el objetivo de proporcionar una relajación privada dentro de este palacio marino.

The VIP spa area is on the upper oor, with 8 treatment rooms and a luxurious spa, exclusively for VIP residents.

Each private room has a mini-theater, a jacuzzi, a sauna and a steam room. Some also have a terrace with an outdoor jacuzzi and solarium. The largest of the rooms has a small indoor pool with temperature control.

The decoration of mosaics and pebbles enhances the feeling of private relaxation within this ocean palace.

Situado en un edificio singular de la zona alta de Barcelona con reminiscencias a masía de campo, y rodeado por un espacioso jardín, en el concepto decorativo de Nuba Barcelona domina la geometría en combinación con elementos inspirados de la naturaleza, tratados de manera sutil y sintetizada.

Situated in uptown Barcelona, in a special building reminiscent of a farmhouse and surrounded by a spacious garden, the decorative concept of Nuba Barcelona is dominated by geometry in combination with elements inspired by nature, handled in a subtle and synthesized way.

1 y 2.- Este Restaurante Lounge Club situado en Barcelona cuenta con una superficie cerrada de 715 metros cuadrados y 500 metros cuadrados más descubiertos, en una única planta. En su decoración prima una reinterpretación conceptual y geométrica de lo orgánico, mientras que la ausencia de paredes provoca una transición fluida entre el interior y el exterior, realizada mediante losas superpuestas que organizan los espacios centrales, salpicados de colorido con el mobiliario, cortinas de lluvia plateadas, y luces cálidas de ocres y anaranjados.

El resultado es un espacio con un toque mágico, sugerente y sereno en el que la contraposición a lo natural viene de la mano de los colores del mobiliario y los detalles.

This Restaurant Lounge Club situated in Barcelona has an interior surface of 715 square meters and another 500 square meters of exterior space on a single level.

Its decoration features a conceptual and geometric reinterpretation of the organic, while the absence of walls provides with an effortless flow between the interior and the exterior, achieved by means of superimposed slabs that organize the central spaces, splashes of color on the furniture, metallic thread curtains, and warm ocher and orange lights.

The result is a space with a serene, suggestive, and magic touch in which the juxtaposition to nature comes with the colors of the furniture and the details.

3, 4 y 5.- La iluminación está oculta. Pero los juegos de reflejos, cristales y la combinación de colores como los ocres, amarillos y anaranjados consiguen una luz tenue y a la vez mágica. Los colores que nutren el espacio y los tejidos, han sido escogidos de la naturaleza (tierra, flores...). Su mobiliario –lámparas, cortinas, estampados...- es la nota de color, el contraste vivo que le da fuerza ante un paisaje geométrico, sugerente y sereno.

Paredes de cristal negro en los baños, como grandes prismas vidriados, recrean las rocas y reflejan la terraza desde el otro lado del local consiguiendo traspasar los límites de lo real.

The lighting is hidden. But the effects of the reflections, crystals and the combination of colors such as ocher, yellow, and orange result in a warm but magic light.

The colors that nourish the space and the fabrics have been chosen from nature itself (land, flowers…). Its furniture –lamps, curtains, prints…- is the touch of color, the live contrast that gives it strength in face of a serene, suggestive, and geometric landscape.

Black crystal walls in the bathrooms, as large glazed prisms, recreate the rocks and reflect the terrace from the other side of the space, managing to trespass the limits of reality.

ESTABLECIMIENTO: Nuba Barcelona. Restaurante Lounge Club situado en Barcelona que cuenta con una superficie cerrada de 715 metros cuadrados y 500 más descubiertos. Con capacidad para 150 comensales. Cocina a la vista y 4 barras. | INTENCIONALIDAD Y FILOSOFÍA DE LA OBRA: El encargo consistía en diseñar un restaurante/club de copas lujoso, abierto desde las comidas hasta las 3 de la madrugada, para un target de público medio/alto. El objetivo era remodelar por completo la estructura integrando el interior en el exterior, y el exterior en el interior; evitar la contaminación de sonido con paramentos diseñados para ello; conseguir que el visitante pernocte de la cena a las copas diseñando una fisonomía móvil; y realizar un tratamiento lujoso en materiales, colores y vistosidad. El resultado conseguido recrea artificialmente un ambiente natural que estructura lo orgánico, buscando un equilibrio en la riqueza visual del paisajismo y la rectitud de las líneas que lo enmarcan. | AUTORES DEL PROYECTO: Diseño: Futur-2 & Estrella Salietti. Cliente: Grupo Costa Este. | PRINCIPALES PAUTAS DECORATIVAS: El concepto parte de la idea del acercamiento a la naturaleza. La reinterpretación conceptual y geométrica de lo orgánico. El agua, las piedras, la vegetación o la lluvia han sido llevadas a la máxima expresión de la geometría, ofreciendo un espectáculo mágico, sugerente y sereno en contraposición a la explosión de color del mobiliario y los detalles. El objetivo final era conseguir un lugar abierto, un espacio sin límites, que se ha conseguido gracias a las paredes de cristal y tamizadas mediante cortinas metálicas que simulan agua/lluvia. Destaca también el techo calado en la zona exterior, semejando un bosque geométrico que protege del sol y a la vez deja pasar insinuantes haces de luz.

6 y 7.- El techo cuadrado está soportado por una cuadrícula de columnas. Destacan unas cortinas de varillas metálicas en el centro que simulan agua/lluvia.

Unos pequeños espejos cuidadosamente colocados reflejan una luz indirecta y consiguen el centelleo de los reflejos de una piscina.

The square roof is supported by a grid of columns. Metallic thread curtains that simulate water/rain prevail in the center. Some small mirrors carefully placed reflect an indirect light and produce the sparkling of the reflections of a pool.

ESTABLISHMENT: Nuba Barcelona. Restaurant Lounge Club situated in Barcelona, with an interior surface of 715 square meters and 500 more in the exterior. Capacity for 150 guests. Open kitchen and 4 bars. | INTENTION AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE WORK: The assignment consisted in designing a luxurious restaurant/lounge club, open from meal time until 3 am, for a medium/high target audience. The objective was to completely remodel the structure integrating the interior in the exterior, and the exterior in the interior; to avoid the sound contamination with faces designed for that purpose; to make the guest stay on after supper for some drinks by designing a mobile appearance; and to make a luxurious statement with the materials, colors, and showiness. The result achieved artificially recreates a natural environment that structures the organic, seeking a balance in the visual richness of the landscape and the straightness of the lines that frame it. | PROJECT AUTHORS: Design: Futur-2 & Estrella Salietti. Client: Grupo Costa Este. | MAIN DECORATIVE CRITERIA: The concept sparks from the idea of getting close to nature. The conceptual and geometric reinterpretation of the organic. The water, the stones, the vegetation or the rain have been taken to their maximum expression of geometry, offering a serene, suggestive, and magic spectacle in juxtaposition to the explosion of color on the furniture and the details. The final objective was achieve an open place, an unlimited space, which has been mastered thanks to the crystal walls and sifted by means of metallic thread curtains that simulate water/rain. The trimmed roof in the exterior showcases too, resembling a geometric forest that protects from the sun and allows for suggestive rays of light to go through.

8, 9, 10 y 11.- Diferentes alturas, como en la naturaleza, dan equilibrio. Se entrelazan horizontalmente tarimas y parterres cuadrados de diferentes alturas. Verticalmente no hay ningún obstáculo que impida la vista. La sensación es de un lugar abierto, un espacio sin límites con todas las paredes de cristal y tamizadas mediante cortinas metálicas que hacen de filtro al exterior.

En la terraza, dos jardines verticales dibujan un horizonte marcado por el verde de la vegetación y un bosque geométrico de techo calado como copas de árboles, protege del sol y a la vez deja pasar insinuantes haces de luz convirtiendo el exterior de Nuba en un juego de sol, sombras y transparencias.

La entrada a Nuba Barcelona, ajardinada y muy espaciosa, cuenta con puntos de luz que guían hacia la puerta principal y un parterre de agua con varillas de luz como juncos en un estanque.

Different heights, as happen in nature, provide the space with balance. Platforms and square flowerbeds of different heights are horizontally intertwined. There is no vertical obstacle that blocks the view. The feeling is that of an open place, an unlimited space with all the crystal walls, sifted by means of metallic thread curtains that work as a filter to the exterior.

In the terrace, two vertical gardens outline a horizon showcased by the green color of the vegetation, and a geometric forest with a roof trimmed as treetops protects from the sun and yet allows for suggestive rays of light to go through, converting the exterior of Nuba in a composition of sun, shadows and transparencies.

The entrance to Nuba Barcelona, landscaped and very spacious, has light spots that guide toward the front door and a flowerbed of water with light rods resembling reeds in a pond.

VISTA ALEGRE. Ornament. Diseñador/Designer: Sam Baron. En la feria Intergift, la casa portuguesa presentó su última colaboración con el diseñador francés Sam Baron. Se trata de Ornament, una vajilla completa con juego de café inspirada en los estucados del siglo XVIII del Palacio de Vista Alegre, en Ilhavo. Sam Baron quería plasmar en porcelana los relieves geométricos sobre un plato completamente blanco, como los techos en los que se inspira. Para conseguir este efecto, sin que el plato fuera incómodo para su uso, Vista Alegre tuvo que desarrollar una técnica específica que diera la sensación de profundidad con un relieve de alrededor de un milímetro. Para potenciar aún más este efecto se le ha aplicado un suave sombreado gris.

At the Intergift fair, the Portuguese firm presented its latest collaboration with French designer Sam Baron. It is Ornament, a tableware set (including a coffee set) inspired in the 18th-century stucco work of the Vista Alegre Palace, in Ilhavo. Sam Baron wanted to express geometric reliefs –such as the roofs in which he was inspired— on a completely white porcelain plate. To achieve this effect without making the plate inconvenient to use, Vista Alegre had to develop a specific technique that would give the feeling of depth on a relief of about one millimeter. The Portuguese firm has launched several lines of vases, centerpieces, and candleholders: Portrait, Antique, Sculpture and Fifties. Portrait: with the rectangle of the picture frames as inspiration, line of timeless character reminiscent of the 70s. Antique: based on Portrait, this line has a more classic look. It is decorated with diamond shapes that carve the crystal to different depths creating an elegant pattern repeated all around the piece. Sculpture: with a more modern character, it is based on the curved lines. The pieces have round forms upon which oval holes are opened throughout the curve of the vase or candleholder. VISTA ALEGRE ATLANTIS. Vila Verde . A mediados del XIX las mujeres casaderas de Vila Verde, al norte de Portugal, empezaron a crear los Pañuelos de enamorados. In the middle of the 19th century, the marriageable women of Vila Verde, to the north of Portugal, began to make lovers' handkerchiefs (Pañuelos). They embroidered in bright colors a handkerchief full of love symbols and messages for their loved ones.

Los módulos de esta luminaria permiten crear siluetas y volúmenes en el techo a medida de cada espacio y situación. Se compone de cuatro módulos de distintos tamaños y alturas que se conectan entre sí, ofreciendo un amplio abanico de geometrías que se integran en la arquitectura del techo. Sólo requiere un único punto de conexión eléctrica y su fuente de luz es regulable y eficiente. Elia Felices ha llevado a cabo una intervención decorativa en el restaurante Mil Milagros de Dani García -chef galardonado con 2 estrellas Michelin- en homenaje a Victoria, cerveza tradicional malagueña que se produce desde el 1928. Se trata de una composición de collages y pintura artística como recurso base, donde se dibuja un escenario con divisiones triangulares, cuya creación parte de una mujer flamenca de los años veinte. El personaje, con aires andaluces, se integra entre 4 abanicos, con dimensiones de 3 metros de altura. Las secuencias están diseñadas a base de objetos reales que moldean su propia estructura. La parte central está formada por saleros plateados, corta-pizzas, y moldes de raviolis que dan salida a los individuales enrollados con tamaños y colores variables que se intercalan siguiendo el mismo arco, generando una gama cromática que hace referencia tanto a la marca de la cerveza como al Restaurante Mil Milagros.

Elia Felices has completed a decorative intervention in the Mil Milagros restaurant by Dani García - a chef awarded 2 Michelin stars - in homage to Victoria, the traditional beer of Malaga produced since 1928. This intervention involves a composition based on collages and artistic painting, depicting a scene with triangular divisions whose creation begins with a Flamenco dancer. This dancer, with an Andalucian air, is situated between 4 fans of 3 meters in height. The sequences are designed around real objects that shape the structure itself. The central section is formed of silver-plated salt cellars, pizza cutters, and ravioli molds, which lead to rolled placemats of varying size and color placed along the same arc, creating a chromatic range that makes reference to the beer brand as well as the restaurant itself. www.eliafelices.com
