Last year we had an 8% increase in tourism, calculated over the whole Costa del Sol. The forecasts for this season are more optimistic and we will surely beat a new record for occupation in a town that is a world leader in tourism, as the increase in domestic visitors will be added to the foreseeable increase in tourism from other countries, as people seek to avoid places with safety problems such as Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia... According to figures from the hotel sector, last year saw higher prices in hotel rooms in view of the increased demand. We hope that the service and quality are the same or better than the price increase. Spring, and with it the start of the high season, brings important events such as the Marbella Design Fair, the International Fair in Fuengirola, the Iron Man Marbella and the 10th Edition of the Marbella and San Pedro Tapa Route, as well as the regular events and activities such as exhibitions, “Nature Outings” excursions, the Opera Season at the Goya Cinema Theatre, and much more. Enjoy our town, its streets, its beaches, and its people over the coming months. See you again in June.

Concurso de Dibujo ‘El sur de Marbella, ¿cómo imaginas la ciudad con sus espigones?”. Las obras, se podrán presentar en cualquier formato y sin límite de trabajos, deberán entregarse en la Delegación Municipal de Medio Ambiente hasta el 6 de abril, en el edificio de control del Puerto Deportivo Virgen del Carmen, en horario de 09.00 a 14.00 horas. Se otorgarán diferentes premios en cada una de las categorías y tendrá lugar en la Sociedad Cultural y Recreativa Casino de Marbella el día 13 de abril a las 19.00 horas. La exposición muestra la faceta de grabador de este artista. Las series “Hom’mère”, “Carné Amont”, “L’Arc Obscur des Heures”, “La Araucana” y “Verbo América” son algunas de las que tienen presencia en ella. 31 grabados a los que acompaña un óleo del artista. Las actividades se realizarán en el entorno inmediato de los yacimientos arqueológicos y serán tanto teóricas cómo prácticas y experimentales, donde los niños puedan convertirse en pequeños arqueólogos aprendiendo técnicas de pintura rupestre o fabricación de lucernas romanas. Tras la transición, ubicada en la legendaria avenida de las Naciones Unidas, recorrerán en bici 90 km por entornos memorables como el Puerto de Ojén y ascenderán por la carretera de los “caracolillos”. Cruzarán diferentes localidades como Monda, Coín y Cártama. Para finalizar, los atletas volverán a Marbella, para recorrer los últimos 21km a pie a lo largo del paseo marítimo, animados por los aficionados mientras realizan su último esfuerzo por llegar a la meta - justo en la arena de la Playa de Puerto Banús. El perfil del turista de salud, suele tener 50 años y capacidad adquisitimedia-alta. Además, tiene un gasto diez veces mayor que la persona que escoge el turismo vacacional. Este segmento turístico crece sensiblemente debido, entre otras razones, al aumento de la preocupación por la salud y el bienestar, así como de la esperanza de vida. Según los últimos datos de la Junta de Andalucía del año 2016 nuestra comunidad ingresó más 700 millones en concepto de Turismo de Belleza y Salud con una media de 72,94€ diarios de gasto. ca asesorará sobre el tratamiento de fertilidad más adecuado según el caso, como Fecundación In Vitro o la Inseminación Artificial. FECUNDACIÓN IN VITRO E INSEMINACIÓN ARTIFICIAL La Fecundación in Vitro es una técnica enfocada a lograr la unión del óvulo con el espermatozoide en el laboratorio, para obtener embriones que puedan transferirse al útero materno. La fecundación de los óvulos puede llevarse a cabo mediante técnica de FIV convencional o Inyección Intracitoplasmática de Espermatozoides (ICSI). La Inseminación Artificial consiste en colocar en el interior del útero de la mujer una muestra seleccionada de semen, previamente preparada y optimizada en laboratorio, con el fin de incrementar el potencial de los espermatozoides y las posibilidades de fecundación del óvulo. Para aumentar las posibilidades de

la mayoría de los folículos ováricos tienen un tamaño entre 19 y 21mm, se concluye la fase de inducción y se administra una inyección por vía subcutánea para inducir la maduración ovocitaria, aproximadamente 36 horas antes de la captación ovocitaria. Para la punción, la paciente ingresa ambulatoriamente sin necesidad de dormir en el hospital. “La punción o captación se realiza en quirófano y bajo sedación, para que la paciente no sienta ningún tipo de molestia”, explica el ginecólogo. “El embriólogo identificará a través del microscopio los ovocitos obtenidos en la punción, después se aislarán y clasificarán en su estadio madurativo. Por otro lado, en esta segunda fase será necesaria una muestra de semen (de pareja o de donante) para su capacitación posterior”, sigue contando. Distintos pasos según el proceso

¿EN QUÉ CONSISTE UN TRATAMIENTO DE REPRODUCCIÓN ASISTIDA?

En el caso de la FIV, una vez se dispone de los óvulos y de los espermatozoides, se lleva a cabo la unión de ambos para que se produzca la fecundación. Este proceso puede realizarse por la técnica de FIV convencional, que consiste en colocar en la placa de cultivo un óvulo junto a una elevada cantidad de espermatozoides capacitados o por ICSI, microinyección intracitoplasmática, que consiste en introducir un espermatozoide vivo dentro del óvulo. Posteriormente, se almacenan en una incubadora biológica a temperatura de 37°C y concentración de gases y grado de humedad semejante al cuerpo humano. Los embriones resultantes son controlados a diario y clasificados según su morfología y capacidad de división.

Primero se realiza una ecografía basal en los primeros días de la regla y, si todo es correcto, para continuar con el ciclo, se realiza el inicio de la estimulación ovárica, donde se administra una medicación indicada por el ginecólogo, a través de una inyección subcutánea.

Posteriormente se pasa a la introducción de un número de embriones viables que varía dependiendo de la edad de la paciente, el número de intentos realizados previamente sin conseguir la gestación y del criterio médico, a través del cuello uterino para depositarlos aproximadamente a 1,5 cm. del fondo uterino

“Principalmente se procede a la estimulación ovárica controlada, que consiste en la administración de unas inyecciones para lograr que los ovarios, en vez de producir un único ovocito -como hacen de forma natural cada mes-, produzcan más ovocitos, aptos para fertilización y así poder llegar a obtener un mayor número de embriones”, declara el doctor Enrique Pérez de la Blanca.

Tras realizar la transferencia embrionaria, se lleva a cabo la vitrificación de los embriones de calidad no transferidos, con el fin de poder ser utilizados en un ciclo posterior sin necesidad de una nueva estimulación ovárica. “Esta técnica también es adecuada para aquellas pacientes que van a comenzar un tratamiento oncológico y quieren quedarse embarazadas posteriormente”, explica el doctor Pérez de la Blanca. El proceso es distinto en el caso de la Inseminación Artificial (IA), proceso en el que de la oculación se pasa directamente a la inseminación, que es la “introducción intrauterina del semen conyugal o del

embarazo se estimulan hormonalmente los ovarios y se controla la ovulación para saber cuál es el mejor momento para hacer la inseminación.

Durante su transcurso, se realizan controles clínicos para comprobar que el crecimiento y la evolución de los folículos es el adecuado. Cuando se confirma que

donante, programada un día y medio después de la administración de la medicación para la ovulación”. No es doloroso, no necesita anestesia para su realización y la paciente podrá hacer vida normal tras ésta. Esta construcción se encuentra enclavada en el centro histórico de la ciudad y es la única que se ha conservado de la época musulmana. La medina de Marbella fue una de las ciudades más importantes de la “Rayya” (provincia de Málaga). La Marbella amurallada de los musulmanes abarcaba aproximadamente una superficie de 90.000 metros2. Sobre esta reducida área se extendería una trama de estrechas callejas, que todavía hoy conserva su trazado. This construction is set in the historic centre of the town and it is the only one conserved from the muslim era. The medina of Marbella was one of the most important cities or the “Rayya” (province of Malaga). The fortified Marbella of the muslims covered approximately a surface of 90.000 square metres. Basílica Paleocristiana Vega del Mar (San Pedro) (s. IV). Rodeada por una necrópolis visigoda con más de 180 enterramientos de distinta tipología. Única en la Península Ibérica. Bóvedas o Termas de Guadalmina (San Pedro) (s. II-III). A 500 m de la Basílica. Además de su uso higiénico, eran un punto de reunión social. Villa Romana de Río Verde (Marbella) (s. I). Edificada como finca rústica en la que se desarrollaban actividades agropecuarias, en especial la fabricación del garum, pasta de diversos pescados cuyo precio alcazaba cifras exorbitantes en Roma. Monumento declarado Bien de Interés Cultural por la Junta de Andalucía, y protegido con el máximo nivel en el Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz.

Built as a country estate where fish farming activity took place, particularly the preparation of “garum”, a fish paste made from different fish, that commanded exorbitant prices in Rome. It has been declared a Monument of Cultural Interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia and is protected as being a high level example of the Historic Heritage of Andalusia.
