l maremágnum de las elecciones lo inunda todo en estos días, el ciudadano se encuentra saturado de propaganda y presión para que el voto vaya a favor para el partido que sea. Pero como dicen los más viejos del lugar “La democracia no es el régimen de gobierno perfecto, pero es el menos imperfecto”. Confiamos en el funcionamiento de la misma, pero todos en el fondo intuimos que al final será más de lo mismo. Abril es el nacimiento de la primavera, Semana Santa abre la temporada alta de nuestra industria más productiva y la que crea más empleo en nuestra zona sur, además es el baremo de los meses venideros. Todo se activa, restaurantes, chiringuitos, bares, hoteles e innumerables eventos, entre los que destaca la tradicional Ruta de la Tapa de Marbella y San Pedro, que celebra ya su 11ª Edición, la temporada de Cine Club Buñuel y Especial Cinéfilos de Marbella y San Pedro, la nueva temporada de primavera de excursiones “Salidas a la Naturaleza”, la nueva edición de Ironman 70.3 en Marbella, y muchas actividades más como teatro, exposiciones, conciertos, etc, además de los programas de Semana Santa con todas las procesiones y sus recorridos. Disfrutemos estos próximos meses primaverales de privilegiado clima de nuestra zona, sus calles, sus playas su gente. We trust that it will work properly, but we all basically have the feeling that in the end it is the same old story.

Spring is sprung in April, Easter Week opens the high season of our most productive industry, creating the highest number of jobs in this part of the South, and is also the yardstick for the coming months. Everything is reactivated: restaurants, beachbars, bars, hotels and an endless number of events, amongst which we would highlight the traditional Marbella and San Pedro Tapa Route, now being held in its 11th Edition, the Buñuel Cine Club season and Filmlovers Special season in Marbella and San Pedro, the new Spring Excursions programme, the new edition of Ironman 70.3 in Marbella, and many more activities such as theatre, exhibitions, concerts, etc, plus the Easter Week programme with all of its processions and routes. Primer Torneo de Padel Solidario del Sector Inmobiliario Nvoga E

l primer torneo de tenis de pádel del Sector Inmobiliario de la Costa del Sol, organizado por Nvoga Marbella Realty, se ha llevado a cabo los días del 5 al 7 durante el primer fin de semana de Abril en el Racket Club Los Monteros, con un gran número de participantes. En esta primera edición se han recaudado fondos a beneficio de la escuela Rwenzori Focus en Kasese, Uganda.

Esta construcción se encuentra enclavada en el centro histórico de la ciudad y es la única que se ha conservado de la época musulmana. La medina de Marbella fue una de las ciudades más importantes de la “Rayya” (provincia de Málaga). La Marbella amurallada de los musulmanes abarcaba aproximadamente una superficie de 90.000 metros2. Sobre esta reducida área se extendería una trama de estrechas callejas, que todavía hoy conserva su trazado. YACIMIENTOS ARQUEOLÓGICOS ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES

Basílica Paleocristiana Vega del Mar (San Pedro) (s. IV). Rodeada por una necrópolis visigoda con más de 180 enterramientos de distinta tipología. Única en la Península Ibérica. Bóvedas o Termas de Guadalmina (San Pedro) (s. II-III). A 500 m de la Basílica. Además de su uso higiénico, eran un punto de reunión social. Villa Romana de Río Verde (Marbella) (s. I). Edificada como finca rústica en la que se desarrollaban actividades agropecuarias, en especial la fabricación del garum, pasta de diversos pescados cuyo precio alcazaba cifras exorbitantes en Roma. Monumento declarado Bien de Interés Cultural por la Junta de Andalucía, y protegido con el máximo nivel en el Patrimonio Histórico Andaluz.

Built as a country estate where fish farming activity took place, particularly the preparation of “garum”, a fish paste made from different fish, that commanded exorbitant prices in Rome. It has been declared a Monument of Cultural Interest by the Regional Government of Andalusia and is protected as being a high level example of the Historic Heritage of Andalusia.

Su edificio, situado en pleno corazón de Marbella, data del S.XVII y cuenta con unos bellos jardines. Acoge exposiciones temporales, conferencias, proyecciones y recitales. En él se encuentra el Archivo Histórico Municipal, y una almazara del S.XIX, compuesta por un molino, una termobatidora y dos prensas hidráulicas.

Alberga una de las colecciones de arte contemporáneo latinoamericano más importante en Europa, compartiendo espacio con obras de artistas europeos. Destacan artistas como Dalí, Miró, Wifredo Lam, Roberto Matta o Braun-Vega, todas ellas en un marco incomparable.
