LOVE STORY
JASMINE & KORIAN From ‘Thor’ to love
P. 10
gulfcoastweddingsmagazine.com
Korian and Jasmine met in eighth grade at Biloxi Junior High but their love story didn’t begin until years later. They reconnected via Facebook after graduating from college. Their first date was a dinner and movie. To Korian’s surprise, Jasmine was a comic book fan and was excited about seeing “Thor 2.” Before proposing, Korian spoke to Jasmine’s father in January 2016 about taking her hand in marriage. He was thinking Valentine’s Day would be the perfect occasion to propose but ditched that idea as too predictable. He chose Superbowl weekend to pop the question. To keep it a surprise, he had told Jasmine he would be out of town in New Orleans for the weekend. Instead, Korian and Jasmine’s sister, Denise, had hatched a plan for a surprise proposal. On Feb. 6, Jasmine thought she’d be dining out with friends, and her sister encouraged her to “dress up.” On her way out the door “to dinner with friends,” Korian turned the corner with one hand behind his back and a nervous smile on his face. Jasmine was startled and confused as her sister began pulling out her phone and recording. On queue, Korian dropped to one knee, pulled out a ring and asked Jasmine to marry him. She said “yes!” The two wed May 28 in Biloxi at the Slavonian Lodge in front of 200 family members and friends. Jasmine says the entire day was truly special to her. Memorable moments were the vow-taking, toasts by her sister, who was the maid of honor, and Korian’s good friend, groomsman Kevin. Korian’s favorite moment was watching his beautiful bride walk down the aisle as the sun set behind her in the distance. The two honeymooned in the Dominican Republic. Korian is a self-employed personal trainer and owner of KPad Fitness. Jasmine is third-year medical student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

KATELYN & BAILEY Always together
P. 30
gulfcoastweddingsmagazine.com
Katelyn Irene Watts and Bailey Rollins Braswell have known each other most of their lives. “We were friends in middle school and had many mutual friends,” Katelyn shares. “We remained friends and started dating our junior year of high school. We did not go to school together until college, but were always together because of mutual friends.” Katelyn says she had no idea Bailey was planning to ask her to marry him when he did. “I worked in Nashville for a year after college and I was home last July visiting my family and Bailey for a few days before I was headed to the beach for a family trip,” she recalls. “We went to dinner at Phoenicia (our favorite) Saturday night and Bailey told me we were going back to my parents’ house after for friends to come meet us for a little bit before going out for the night. When we got to my house, he proposed on my parents’ pool deck and our friends and family came after to celebrate.” Family is important to this couple, and having fun celebrating with them made their wedding day extra special. The couple honeymooned at Secrets Resort in Cabo San Lucas. Bailey is a financial advisor at Edward Jones in Diamondhead and Katelyn is a CPA at Horne LLP in Gulfport.

BEAUTY
Your special day needs a professional makeup artist by Jackie Merlau jmerlaumakeup.com A bride spends countless hours picking out the perfect dress and planning the most beautiful celebration for her wedding day. However, although you may be great at applying your own makeup and the stress of the budget may be weighing on you, it is highly recommended to keep a professional makeup artist on hand. After all, this is the day you dream of looking and feeling your absolute best, so here are four reasons why you should consider calling in a pro:
BE STRESS FREE A professional makeup artist knows what is required to get a bride and her bridal party ready for the big day. The artist will help set a schedule, plan a consultation and answer any questions or concerns leading up to the big day. The artist will then arrive at your location of choice and apply your makeup for you. Just sit back and sip a mimosa while you gently close your eyes and allow the fancy makeup brushes to massage your face. This will offer you an hour of relaxation and after spending months planning a wedding, you should treat yourself to a moment of peace. THEY HAVE IT ALL These artists have some of the best products that can only be purchased from specialty makeup stores in big cities around the world. They carry every skin tone, creams, powders, liquids and sticks. They have something for everyone that is high-end and longwearing. Artists also are always learning about top trends and what works best for each skin type or eye shape. In addition, you will get clean and sanitized product and brushes because after all, sanitizing our kits is a bit of a religion to us! LONGEVITY You will be kissing, dancing, eating and crying so it’s important to make sure you continue to look flawless and beautiful throughout your entire wedding. Professional makeup artists should be able to take pride in the longevity of their work, especially since they are constantly researching the best longwearing products for brides. CAMERA READY You have hired a photographer to be your own personal paparazzi for this special day, which means every moment will be photographed and every photograph will be treasured for the rest of your lives. It is said a bride needs to wear about 30 percent more makeup on her wedding day than she does in real life. Why? So it photographs well. An experienced artist will make sure you have the right amount of makeup while still looking like yourself and remaining flawless. P. 40

One the hottest trends in wedding dĂŠcor and bridal party attire is metallics! LOVE STORY
IBOS & JARVIS Turning another page in a book of beautiful memories
P. 46
gulfcoastweddingsmagazine.com
Michael Ibos and Brandy Jarvis’ love story began like many others — on a college campus. They both were pursing business administration degrees and involved as student leaders at the University of Southern Mississippi. “We started out as friends and over time our love for each other grew to the point where we couldn’t imagine life without each other,” Brandy shares. After a four-year courtship, Michael proposed with a photo album showcasing a fairytale story of their memories together. At the end of the book it said, “As we all know, every fairytale deserves a happily ever after.” As Brandy turned to the final page, Michael dropped to one knee and read the final page, which was adorned with a two- carat diamond ring. “Will you be my happily ever after and marry me?” he asked. A joyful, teary-eyed Brandy replied “Yes!” The two wed April 1 on a sunny day with blue sky and cool breezes. “Our favorite moments were our first dance to the song “Perfect” by Ed Sheeren and seeing the gorgeously decorated tent for the first time at the reception,” Brandy says. The Iboses honeymooned at the fivestar Grand Hyatt Resort in Kauai and at
the Hyatt Regency in Honolulu, Hawaii. “We enjoyed hikes, walks on the beach and views of gorgeous waterfalls. My favorite part was the view from the top of Diamondhead. Hawaii is truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever been!” Brandy shares. Brandy shares this advice with other brides-to-be: “Don’t stress about the little things! Hire a wedding planner it is worth every penny! Remember its not really about the flowers, food, entertainment, etc. Your wedding is about proclaiming the LOVE you have for one another in front of your family, friends and God. Everything else on your wedding day is just icing on the cake!” With school and the wedding behind them, Michael is a national client solutions manager at Freeman Expositions Inc. in New Orleans. Brandy is a former NFL cheerleader for the New Orleans Saints who also scored modeling and acting jobs in New Orleans for advertising, commercials, television and film. Getting the most out of your
floral consultation by Rachel Bond
Flowers are a memorable part of any wedding, so planning for it should be fun and enjoyable. Who doesn’t love looking at beautiful blooms? The most important factors to keep in mind when meeting with a potential wedding florist are color scheme, style and budget.
COLOR SCHEME
Color scheme is important because it will be carried throughout all of your décor and will tie everything together. When choosing flowers, have a few colors and/ or shades in mind. A helpful hint is to pick up paint color swatches from a local home improvement store. Select hues that complement your wedding colors without trying to match exactly. Because flowers are unique and natural, they will not be identical for every wedding. Choose a range of shades in your color scheme. This will add dimension while also allowing your florist to choose seasonal blooms. Seasonal flowers always look best and provide the most value for your money.
STYLE
Style is another important aspect to convey to your florist. Do you prefer the loose, natural style of a garden wedding, or a more modern, minimalist design? Coordinating the same style throughout your wedding brings a cohesive, polished look. If you are unsure of your style, simply bring some photos you’ve found online or in
wedding magazines. You and your florist can brainstorm from there, and he or she will show you examples of flowers that work with your particular style.
BUDGET
Budget may not be something you want to think about or even discuss with a stranger, but it is the last piece of the puzzle for your florist to create your dream wedding design. Since flowers may not be something you purchase every day, a simple formula can help you narrow down your price point: Flowers should cost about 10 percent of your overall budget. For example, if you are planning to spend $25,000 for your entire wedding, flowers will probably cost around $2,500. You should also let your florist know if flowers are really important to you, or if you would be willing to cut back in order to stay within your budget. Always trust your florist. Not everything you see online is realistic for your wedding. A professional florist can let you know all of the options and help direct you to the best choices. Let us help you create the wedding of your dreams! Rachel Bond is the owner/designer of Pine Hills Floral Designs in Pass Christian. Reach her at (228) 669-7900 or visit pinehillsfloral.com.

After The Proposal Weddings & Events
Meet the team:
Local wedding planner brings national experience to Mississippi Gulf Coast Gulf Coast Weddings recently chatted with Jean McGrury, proprietor and primary wedding planner and floral designer for After The Proposal Weddings & Events.
PLEASE TELL US ABOUT AFTER THE PROPOSAL. After The Proposal: Our goal is to provide a wedding that flows seamlessly and flawlessly
without a pause while you and your guests enjoy an intimate, warm and unforgettable day. At After The Proposal, it is our pleasure to take on all the worries of planning and coordinating your special day so that you and your family can relax and enjoy the entire experience, and most importantly, you, the client, be a guest at your own wedding. We are there to help make your wedding day blissful so you can create precious memories that last a lifetime.
JEAN MCGRURY Proprietor and primary wedding planner and floral designer
GCW: BEFORE OPENING YOUR BUSINESS, WHAT WAS YOUR BACKGROUND IN THE WEDDING/SPECIAL EVENT INDUSTRY?
ATP:
I was a premier wedding planner in Southern California for 25 years prior to moving to Ocean Springs. I was "The Knot" local wedding expert in Los Angeles and Orange County, California, wrote articles for local and nationwide magazines, was a favorite speaker on television, taught wedding planning at a local college, produced wedding shows and was one of the most sought after wedding planners in Southern California.
GCW: WHAT WAS THAT “AH-HA” MOMENT WHEN YOU KNEW YOU WANTED TO OPEN YOUR OWN PLANNING BUSINESS?
ATP: I worked as an event planner for a large company. The owner was getting married and asked me to help. There was no question after it was all over what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. GCW: WHEN A BRIDE HIRES A WEDDING PLANNER, WHAT SHOULD THEY EXPECT? ATP:
A real bridal consultant or wedding planner is a professional who has been trained to see to every need of the bride from the planning process, to the bride and groom's convertible ride into the sunset. At After The Proposal, we interview the bride and groom thoroughly to acquire a personal connection to their vision and personal taste for their wedding.
BRANDY J. IBOS Wedding planner, director of marketing & creative design
GCW: WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT BEING IN THE WEDDING PLANNING BUSINESS?
ATP:
I love how for every couple the perfect wedding is different. Each wedding I have planned was unique to the couple and their relationship. It shows there is no one right way to celebrate love.
GCW: WHAT DO YOU WANT READERS OF GULF COAST WEDDINGS MAGAZINE TO KNOW ABOUT AFTER THE PROPOSAL?
ATP:
I have coordinated so many fabulous weddings — everything from the Ritz Carlton Hotel, private estates, 100-foot yachts, beaches to granny’s back yard with plastic pink flamingos! Every wedding is important. I help the client create a budget and then we go from there. It’s not my money to spend, but every bride deserves to have a dream wedding. As I tell my brides, it’s about marrying the one you love and want to spend the rest of your life with. Everything else is just icing on the cake!

MONTHS
7-10
This timeframe is the most critical when it comes to planning your wedding.
From a practical perspective if you are not an organized person, you should immediately hire a planner or a consultant to help guide you through the process. Many planners on the Coast also do full service design so you can have your cake and eat it too by telling the designer what you want and letting them assist you with all of the details. In some cases, a caterer or reception venue coordinator can help you with some details (linen choices, rental items, room layouts or seating plans). But generally, you want your chosen vendors to focus on what they are good at. These are the items you should deal with immediately because in most cases, there are limited options depending on the size of your wedding. During this time period you should: Book your ceremony and reception venues Select and inform your attendants Begin developing your budget Start your guest list Interview and book the following: • Planner • Band/DJ • Caterer • Photographer • Videographer • Officiant Book your ceremony and reception venues

Have your guys fitted for their tuxedos as soon as possible as well. Set up your wedding website, hashtag and handles. Register at a minimum of three major retailers with online offerings at least one local gift registry store. Plan for your out-of-town guests. Reserve a block of hotel rooms at several different hotels with varying price points. These hotels should be as close to reception location as possible. Settle on an invitation design and begin the proofing process. Your invitation may go through several renditions before it’s just right, so give yourself plenty of time. If you are planning on having your invitations hand addressed, hire a calligrapher now. Start planning the honeymoon. Make sure your passport and any necessary shots are up to date if you will be traveling out of the country.

If you are planning on live entertainment, make sure they can perform your first dances or have the availability to play them digitally. Plan the rehearsal dinner. Floral decorations for the ceremony and reception, bridesmaids’ flowers
The groom paying for the bride’s bouquet is an interesting concept and something that is staging a bit of a comeback. We think it’s a sweet gesture, but not commonly done here on the Coast.
The bride’s bouquet (unless it is customary for the groom to pay for it) Music for church and reception
This is one of those instances where the rules are out the window. Weddings are expensive and in lots of cases, the bride, groom, her parents, his parents and sometimes aunts and grandparents are paying these expenses.

Transportation and lodging expenses for the officiant if from another town and if invited to officiate by the bride’s family
Accommodations for bride’s attendants Bridesmaids’ luncheon, if hosted by the bride or her family Bride’s gifts to her attendants
Generally, this is only reserved for those attendants who are from out of town and do not necessarily need two nights (or more) at a fancy hotel. Most families have plenty of extra beds to accommodate these attendants without spending too much money.
Bride’s gift to groom Groom’s wedding ring
Here in the South, there is a committee of ladies that put together all types of showers and little parties. This is the case here as well. The hostesses will plan the menu, provide the decorations and generally have fun cooing over the bride and her attendants.

This item and the one just above about boutonnieres, while a good idea, is more about practicality and cost savings. While it is certainly a nice thought to pay for these items, one person (usually the bride along with her planner) should handle all of the floral/ decor needs for the wedding so nothing gets forgotten in the shuffle.

WRIGHT & GUNN
September 10th, 2016 | Ocean Springs, MS
Ashley Catherine Wright and Paul Sullivan Gunn were united in holy matrimony on September 10, 2016, at five o’clock in the evening, at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Rev. Scott Castleman officiated the service. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Archie Wright III of Madison, and the granddaughter of Ms. Hazel Webb of Terry, and Ms. Lois Pace of Florence. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hubert Gunn III of Ocean Springs and Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Poindexter Graham, Sr. of Meridian, and the grandson of Mrs. Kathy Gunn and the late Dr. and Mrs. Clyde Hubert Gunn, Jr. of Moss Point, and Mrs. Dorothy S. Langhofer and the late Mr. William Alfred Langhofer of Batesville. Ushers were John Archie Wright IV, brother of the bride, of Madison, and Dr. John Gordon Eley, cousin of the groom, of Baltimore, Maryland. Flower girls were Miss Yvonne Hoover Gunn, niece of the groom, and Addilena Carmella Battaglia, cousin of the bride. The flower girls were adorned with flower crowns and wore handmade gowns of antique lace and silk ribbon, beautifully crafted by Mrs. Barbara Campbell of Ocean Springs. Miss Camille Leigh Hailey, of Nashville, Tennessee, served her cousin as Maid of Honor. She wore a romantic, floor length blush colored gown with a V-neck bodice of champagne and silver beading, and a tulle skirt. She carried an arrangement similar to the bride’s. The best men accompanying the groom were his father, Clyde Hubert Gunn III, and his brothers, William Corban Gunn, Sr. of Ocean Springs, and Clyde Andrew Gunn of Clinton. All of the men in the wedding party were handsome in black tuxedos with black ties. The church foyer featured arrangements of a garden roses, hydrangeas, snapdragons and peonies in blush, pink, and cream tones. The pews in the sanctuary were marked with pink and green hydrangeas tied with silk ribbon. A large statement arrangement of similar flowers was presented on the altar. The doors of the church featured wreaths of ivory hydrangeas and pink and cream roses. The bride, escorted by her father, processed to Wagner’s Bridal Chorus. She wore an ivory designer bridal gown featuring a strapless sweetheart bodice with rhinestones and ivory and silver beading. The lace skirt flared out and was overlaid with English tulle. The back featured rhinestone studded buttons extending the full length of the train. A fingertip veil of English tulle with a rhinestone and beaded border was the perfect accompaniment. The bride’s look was completed by pearl and diamond earrings, a gift from the groom, and a diamond necklace belonging to her maternal great aunt for whom she was named. The bride carried a bouquet of garden roses, peonies, and ranunculus in shades of ivory, blush and pink, all hand tied with vintage handkerchiefs, one from the bride’s side and one from the groom’s. Dr. Kristen Gunn, sister-in-law of the groom, offered a beautiful vocal rendition of The Lord’s Prayer, accompanied by organist Dr. Michaelle Harrison. The joyful couple exited the church to Mendelssohn’s Wedding March. The White House Hotel, a beautifully restored beachfront hotel
dating back to the 1890s, provided the perfect party setting, with the entire property devoted to the wedding party and guests all weekend long. At the reception, hosted by the bride’s parents, guests were greeted with champagne and offered a selection of passed hors d’oeuvres, including tomato basil bites, bacon-wrapped Gulf shrimp, and lamb meatballs with tzatziki. Overlooking the Mississippi Sound, the lush front lawn of the hotel served as the main reception area for dining and dancing under chandeliers hung from the live oaks. Inside, guests were treated to a feast of beef tenderloin, seared Gulf tuna, lump crab cakes, chicken piccata, a variety of vegetables and gourmet dips, an assortment of cheeses and fruits, and a full bar complete with handcrafted cocktails. The four-tiered buttercream wedding cake was displayed atop a table blanketed with ivory and pink roses. The groom selected a decadent three-tiered chocolate ganache and mixed berry cake. Tina Bishop provided the delicious cakes. D Play Band rocked the night under the stars. A special display at the reception was the “Miss Ashley” — a 1961 wooden Stauter Boat the groom restored as a wedding gift for the bride. The boat was a festive backdrop for the groom’s cigar bar. The couple exited to a stream of rose petals and departed in a 1967 Jaguar, while guests continued the party into the night on the hotel’s third floor rooftop. Guests enjoying their weekend stay at the White House Hotel received gift bags honoring the groom’s heritage and the couple’s chosen home on the Gulf Coast, including Cat Island cookies, oyster shells gilded by the groom’s father, and Moran Art coastal prints. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s father and stepmother hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Redding House in Biloxi, catered by Chef Patrick Heim. Guests were greeted with His and Her cocktails, passed appetizers, and live music, before enjoying a three course dinner featuring the bride’s favorite entrée, Gulf grouper with lobster risotto. Modern florals mixing tropical with classic design included parrot tulips, dahlias, and roses. Following the rehearsal dinner, a post-toast celebration was enjoyed at the Beau Rivage. On the morning of the wedding, the bride’s mother hosted the bride’s close friends and family for a light brunch and mimosas in the hotel bridal suite, while the groom’s mother hosted his close friends and family for burgers and beer at Government Street Grocery in Ocean Springs. The couple and their families would like to thank Kim Arnold of Hickory Hill Design, who masterfully created the bride’s floral vision, and the White House Hotel’s Ashlei Marie and Chef David Gooch and staff, who provided outstanding service. Karla Pound and second photographer Beth Hontzas captured beautiful photographs of the wedding. Following the wedding, the couple honeymooned on Kauai, Hawaii. They are enjoying life at home in Ocean Springs.

CAPTURE YOUR DAY
BE SURE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER KNOWS WHAT IS MOST SPECIAL TO YOU As you go about planning your wedding, you will come across tons of advice, tips and tricks. You will find lists galore. Lists like “the Top 10 ceremony readings” or “awesome flower ideas” or “1,001 reception ideas.” You’ll see many variations of the best photo shot list, but take heart, they are mostly the same shots and if you hire the right photographer. Just make sure he or she captures the most common highlights and then outline the extra special details you want. Here are other suggestions that will ensure you get the best photos representing your big day. • A solid timeline of wedding events. Include ceremony times and highlights and make sure this timeline includes the names of your bridal party and important family members. For the reception part, actual times (e.g.: “8:12 — first dance”) are less important than an order of events. Your planner will help you stay on track and will make sure all parties needed for the photos are present. • Have a meeting with your photographer to go over exactly what is most important to you. For instance, if your veil was worn by your grandmother, you will want to be sure your photographer knows this so they will make sure it gets the attention it needs. • Don’t burden your photographer with too many details like handing them a list with 100 “must have” photos. Of that 100, probably 75 of them are obvious. You want your photographer focused on the events around you, not focusing on a piece of paper. While it may seem really obvious what photos you want, sometimes a list does help narrow what is most important. There are too many potential photos to list in this space (check out www.gulfcoastweddingsmagazine. com website for a more comprehensive list), but here are the highlights by category:

Wildflower Catering Gulf Coast Weddings recently chatted with Mary Kaye Johnston, creative chef, food artist and owner of Wildflower Catering, a 25-year-old company that “makes the magic happen” for clients. “I love the artistic freedom to create something from an idea: to be able to make recipes while using something totally different and to think outside the box.” — Chef Johnston
GCW: PLEASE TELL US ABOUT WILDFLOWER CATERING. Wildflower Catering: We are much more than just a catering company.
Wildflower is a garden of talented and creative people. A prime example is my sidekick and sous chef, Martha Maples, as well as the entire Wildflower crew. Wildflower is the total package. We offer diverse menus for any and all occasions that represent the uniqueness of each client’s taste and ideas.
GCW: BEFORE OPENING YOUR CATERING BUSINESS, WHAT WAS YOUR BACKGROUND IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY?
WC:
As a “Delta girl,” my humble beginnings started in the kitchen of my mother, Montez, and grandmother, lovingly called Mamma Knapp. This is where I spent my summer days. I learned basic cooking skills, but also creative ways around a kitchen from these special women. I spent many years bartending, waitressing and working with the public. I have also worked as a dietary manager at GCC Hospital in Biloxi. In the early 80s, I lived in California where I really gained knowledge about healthy foods, different cuisines and cultures, and this allowed my creative thoughts to incorporate my knowledge of using fresh herbs and edible flowers in my recipes. It is amazing what you can eat that grows wild. It was really the beginning of my passion.
GCW: WHAT WAS THAT “AH-HA” MOMENT WHEN YOU KNEW YOU WANTED TO OPEN YOUR OWN CATERING BUSINESS?
WC: When I was 5 years old, I made my grandmother a mud pie decorated with wild Trumpet Flower. I so remember her smile and thought how my pies looked so pretty and good enough to eat. However, the real moment was Oct. 14, 1988. While taking cooking classes, my friend asked if I would cater the 5th year celebration for a local bar. It was the best feeling to plan, cook, and execute while being creative. With it being an outside event, I used clay pots of different shapes and heights as if it was a garden of food. That was the beginning of my Wildflower.
Mary Kaye Johnston, creative chef, food artist and owner of Wildflower Catering
GCW: WHAT ARE SOME SIGNATURE ITEMS ON YOUR MENU? WC: I would say my signature is my presentation, which is artfully designed
with the foods our client has chosen. Every catering opportunity is presented uniquely. I build displays using my many one-of-a-kind props and dishes that are selected for each menu item. As far as my menu, we change daily. We customize menus to the bride, company or host. Some of the favorites are Wildflower Chicken or Shrimp Pasta, our delicious slow cooked brisket, Wildflower Chicken Salad, bacon-wrapped potatoes, Brie with our signature sauces, savory cheesecakes and our shrimp and grit cakes.
GCW: WHAT DO YOU WANT READERS OF GULF COAST
WEDDINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WILDFLOWER CATERING?
WC:
Wildflower has a vision that represents you on your wedding. We love to know each bride on a more personal level. Our goal at Wildflower is exceed your expectations while creating a most memorable occasion for you, the family and your special guests. We have exquisite cuisine that is always artfully presented with incomparable service. Our Wildflower team wants to offer something more than just food. We are dedicated to know what you want and to reflect your personality, taste and vision for your special day. We make the magic happen.

Here’s a classic conversation between a couple planning their honeymoon: Bride-to-be: “Where do you want to go?” Groom-to-be: “I don’t know where do you want to go?” Figuring out what type of honeymooner you are is where the help of a travel agent/advisor would be most useful. After all, there is an entire world to explore! How do you choose just one location? You are two different people, so how do you ever agree on only one island or country?
All-Inclusive Resort
Do you want to put your toes in the sand at an all-inclusive resort? Perhaps you would like to try more than one all-inclusive resort to play golf by day and visit another for a different vibe at night. All-inclusive resorts offer lodging, entertainment, food, alcohol and tip all in one price. They generally offer a variety of non-motorized water sports, diving lessons, etc. that are all included in the price. This allows for
as unique as you!
advanced planning and budgeting to ensure you can secure this type of honeymoon vacation.
Adventure Seeker Honeymoon
This is for couples who love new experiences. Some would prefer to be in a mountain cabin or “glamping” as some sources call it where your accommodations are a tent that has been furnished in luxurious style. These types of honeymoons feature horseback riding, romantic campfires, hiking, sometimes snow skiing, snowboarding, private dinners and barbeque lunches by the lake.
Cultural Immersion Honeymoon
This kind of getaway allows couples to be a part of the destination’s culture they are visiting. Your passion may be art, culinary or maybe even dances that are popular in a particular region. This is the reason why Cuba is now popular.
By Michele Kirsch
Cruises
Another favorite choice among couples is a cruise. Not only are cruise ships a destination in itself, but also there are so many options available. You have cruises for foodies, wine connoisseurs, dancers, music lovers, and cruises for those interested in history or culture. You may even wish to secure a private cruise and do some island hopping with your own personal chef and crew. You can cruise by yacht, luxury liner, steamboat, river cruise ship, or what I like to call “cities at sea,” which are ocean-going vessels that offer malls, rock climbing, wave boarding, awesome shows and other various activities. Most cruise lines have departure ports conveniently located near you. So there you have it — honeymoons of every shape and variety and something for everyone. Which one is right for you to start your new life together? Call a travel advisor and let them help save you time and money by matching you with a honeymoon that’s perfect for both of you.
