Register Your Team to Earn Bragging Rights at the Corporate Challenge Registrations are now being accepted for the 2016 Corporate and Community Challenge, scheduled for Fri. Sept. 16. Will your team be the one to knock off last year’s winners from Stambaugh Ness and take home the traveling trophy?

The Corporate Challenge is comprised of a full day of fun, team-building activities and friendly competition. This year’s event will feature two tracks, Competitive and Recreational, for participants of any ability level! The Competitive Track will be held at the CrossFit Hanover at Adams-York Sports Performance, and will feature obstacle courses, tug of war, and more ‘high energy’ competitions. This course will begin at 8 a.m. Teams are comprised of six participants; each team MUST include two females. The Recreational Track will be held at Hickory Falls Family Entertainment Center, and comprise of mini-golf, laser tag, go-carts, etc. Teams are comprised of 4 participants, and events will begin at 12 noon. Both tracks will include lunch, and the two groups will join together for an awards ceremony at the end of the day.

Ready to register? Teams are comprised of six participants; each team MUST include two females, but the criteria end there! Challengers of any age, profession and ability level are encouraged to participate, and teams are invited to create a unique name that sets them apart from the pack. Proceeds from the Corporate Challenge benefit the Chamber’s workforce development programs. The 2015 event raised approximately $4,000 towards this cause. Chamber Thanks Retiring Board Treasurer The Chamber would like to thank retiring Board Member and Treasurer Nathaniel L. Fissel, CPA, MST, whose term with the Chamber Board of Directors expires in August. Fissel is a tax Manager for Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, and specializes in the preparation of corporate, partnership, and personal income tax returns, as well as complex tax planning and tax compliance issues. During his time with the Chamber Board, Fissel held the positions of secretary and treasurer. His efforts and have been instrumental in many key accomplishments within the Chamber over the past several years. The Chamber staff and Board thank Nat both for his effort and dedication to the community of Hanover.

Chamber Announces Staff Resignation, New Hire Natalie Neal has resigned from her position as part-time Marketing and Operations Coordinator ahead of her July wedding and upcoming move to Baltimore, MD.

Neal has been with the Chamber since January of 2015. She began working with the Chamber as an intern from York College of PA, and was promoted to a part-time position in March of the same year. Neal graduated from YCP in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, and hopes to accept a marketing or public relations position in the Baltimore area in the near future. She feels that her time at the Chamber and experience in the role has provided her with great learning experiences that will help to further her career. “I will definitely miss interacting with Chamber members both on the phone and when they come into the office,” said Neal. “I loved getting to know every Chamber member I interacted with, both personally and professionally.” Please join us in congratulating Natalie on her marriage, and wishing her well in her future endeavors!

Hammond Awarded Athletic Trainer Scholarship Maddie Hammond, a senior at Hanover High School, was awarded a $500 scholarship at the Senior Student Athletic Trainer Appreciation Night, held in May at the York Revolution stadium in York, PA.

Co-sponsored by Hanover Hospital Sports Medicine and WellSpan Sports Medicine, the scholarship is awarded to a senior student athletic trainer. Hammond was selected for her academic excellence and volunteer hours served as a student athletic training aid at Hanover High School (HHS). She assisted Bob Spertzel, ATC, LAT, Head Athletic Trainer at HHS for the past four years. She will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the fall, majoring in Nursing.

ACNB Establishes Scholarship at HACC ACNB Bank has established a scholarship award through the Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) Foundation. The Bank’s contribution is in support of the college’s efforts to provide financial assistance to low- or moderate-income youth and adults who attend HACC - Gettysburg Campus and meet the eligibility criteria. Three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to deserving students during the 2016/2017 academic year.

Hanover Area Arts Guild Awards Scholarship Rachel Leigh Groden, a 2016 graduate of New Oxford High, is recipient of the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s $1,000 scholarship. The award was presented this week at the All Member meeting of the Arts Guild.

Groden, daughter of Beth and Mike Groden, will attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania to work toward a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. She also will be a part of the Golden Rams’ track and field team as a pole vaulter.

While in high school, Groden was historian for Student Council, historian for the National Art Honor Society and a ninth grade mentor. In addition to track, she played tennis and was on New Oxford’s swimming and diving team. She has received awards while in high school for her art and was selected to be part of the Hanover Area Arts Guild’s Student Art Show in March.

She has art in her blood, explained Eric Miller, secretary of the Arts Guild and chairman of the scholarship program. Her mother is an art teacher and her aunt and

A Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt since 2005, Labb’s last professional role was as a Consultant at Johnson & Johnson within their Regulatory Operations group. Having lived in Brazil until recently when he relocated to Hanover, Laab’s wife Andrea and their children will follow in December 2016.

Fenby earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Chatham University, Pittsburgh, PA after obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies: Health Studies/Pre-Physician Assistant at Mount Aloysius College, Cresson, PA. She most recently worked as a medical/ surgical physician assistant (PA) at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. Devan Ragg, MHS, PA-C, a Physician Assistant, is the newest provider at Hanover Medical Group New Oxford Adult & Family Medicine, the office of Drs. Carlos Vidal and Anne Quinn. Ragg earned her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA. A Physician Assistant at the Hanover Medical Group Express Care locations since July 2015, Ragg was formerly employed by St. Mary Mercy Hospital, Livonia MI. She completed her obstetrical clinical rotation in Hanover, at the office of Dr. William Prin. Ashley Beth Zinda, D.O. is the newest diagnostic cardiologist at Hanover Medical Group Cardiology. Zinda earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia PA and served her Internal Medicine residency at Pinnacle Health Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. Certified by the

American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, Zinda recently completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Deborah Heart and Lung Center in Browns Mills, NJ. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the American College of Cardiology (ACC).

She has been in the commercial security business for over twenty-five years while marketing in various Mid-Atlantic states. The DOCEO Companies are pleased to announce that Joette Willey has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer. She will oversee all financial and human resource management for The DOCEO Companies. Willey joined DOCEO Office Solutions in March 2009 as an Accounting Manager and was later promoted to Vice President of Finance and Human Relations. DOCEO Office Solutions is pleased to announce that Michael Black has been promoted to Chief Sales Officer. As CSO of DOCEO Office Solutions, Mike will focus mainly on York, Adams and Lancaster Counties. DOCEO Creative has hired Brian Shaffer as President & Partner of the company. Shaffer is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Upon graduating, Shaffer started a twenty-four year career in marketing and management in radio. Most recently, Shaffer was managing a sales team for six local radio stations. He also provided comprehensive marketing strategy to local and regional clients. Shaffer has served on the Children’s Miracle Network Advisory and Easter Seals Advisory Boards. He currently serves as the Challenger Baseball coach.

ACNB BANK ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES, PROMOTIONS Scott A. Yeager has joined ACNB Bank in the position of Senior Vice President/ Consumer Lending Sales & Training Manager. In this role, he is responsible for managing the consumer lending sales team and consumer loan training, providing consumer lending services, and implementing new strategies to support the Bank’s business objectives. Yeager has worked in the banking industry in PA for his entire career, which spans more than 35 years. Prior to joining ACNB Bank, Yeager worked as director of indirect auto lending for a bank in Lebanon County. Yeager attended York College where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He resides in Mechanicsburg with his wife, Kengien, and sons, Ross and Luke.

Amber R. Bowers has joined ACNB Bank in the position of Retail Office Manager for the Bank’s new South York Plaza Office, which opened for business in June. She has been working in the banking industry in southcentral Pennsylvania for 15 years, with more than 10 years of experience in consumer and commercial lending. Prior to joining ACNB Bank, Bowers worked as a market leader for a regional bank in New Oxford, where she was responsible for consumer and commercial lending activities in addition to managing a staff of seven. A native of York County, Bowers is a graduate of Spring Grove Area High School. She graduated from Harrisburg Area Community College, earning an Associate Degree in Business Management. She resides in Spring Grove with her husband, Mike, and their daughters, McKenna and Emma. Sara M. Sciarretta has been promoted to Retail Office Manager of the Spring Grove Office of ACNB Bank. She has been working in the banking industry in southcentral Pennsylvania since 2005 and has nine years of experience in consumer lending. Sciarretta joined ACNB Bank in 2014 as Customer Service Specialist at the Bank’s North Hanover Office. Prior to joining ACNB Bank, she worked as a financial sales consultant for a regional bank in central Maryland. Sciarretta is a graduate of Westminster High School in Westminster, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg and a Master of Science in Kinesiology from McDaniel College in Westminster. For the past eight years, she has been a resident of Hanover, Pennsylvania.

C.S. DAVIDSON, INC ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGES The Board of Directors at C.S. Davidson, Inc. has announced that Kerryn E. Fulton, P.E. will serve as the company’s next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As President and CEO of C.S. Davidson, Fulton will continue to build upon firm’s longstanding commitment to civil engineering excellence. She will be the sixth president and CEO in the firm’s history.

Fulton received her Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 1996 and later joined C.S. Davidson in 2001 as an engineer in the structural department. She is a 1992 graduate of Juniata High School. Fulton replaces John A. Klinedinst, P.E., who has served as C.S. Davidson’s President and CEO since 2008 and will stay in a leadership role as Chief Administrative Officer. Klinedinst will continue to take part in community outreach activities including associations such as Rotary and Sertoma. David M. Davidson Jr., P.E. will remain as C.S. Davidson’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Davidson had served as the President and CEO from 1983 until 2008, transitioning to CFO when Klinedinst assumed the firm’s leadership role. Davidson represents three generations of family ownership. For the past 18 years, the annual Women’s Show has been the premier event for women in south central Pennsylvania. The 19th installment of this award-winning show takes place Oct. 1 and 2 at the York Expo Center. Main Street Hanover Recognized as Nationally Accredited Program On June 15, during their Annual Meeting, Main Street Hanover announced their new status as a 2016 Main Street America Accredited Program. The Main Street America program accreditation process evaluates local Main Street programs according to 10 performance standards and provides national recognition to those that meet these standards.

The national accreditation program strives to: Provide local and national visibility to local Main Street programs that understand and fully utilize the Main Street Four-Point Approach® and eight Main Street principles and that continue to evolve organizationally to meet new challenges; Provide national standards for performance for local Main Street programs; and Provide realistic goals and a tangible incentive for local Main Street programs that do not yet meet the criteria for national recognition. August 12 – Walk a Mile In Her Shoes There is an old saying: “You can’t really understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.” Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® asks men to literally walk one mile in women’s highheeled shoes. It is not easy walking in these shoes, but it is fun and it gets our community to talk about something that’s really difficult to discuss: domestic violence. The walk is to support victims of domestic violence in the greater Hanover community through Hanover YWCA Safe Home and Still Waters. Over one hundred men will walk in high heels, while families and friends walk along to cheer them on. August 13 – Celebrate Summer 2nd Saturday Check Main Street Hanover’s Facebook page for deals and steals from local downtown businesses! September 4 – 21st Annual Hanover Chili Cookoff This event has become a staple for family entertainment, chili tasting and fundraising for local nonprofit organizations, all built around the ICS PA State Chili Cooking Championship. The day’s events will include music, a magician, a juggler, a face painter and many varieties of chili, along with many supporting vendors will be on display. Not to mention good food and beverage concessions too! We look forward to seeing you on September 4th at Good Field in Hanover PA.
