Mission: We deliver value to our members and advance the interests of the business community.

Programs Benefit Future Hanover Workforce Punctual, professional and eager to learn. These are attributes that high school students can obtain by becoming involved with Chambersponsored school-to-work programs. Intro to Manufacturing, Intro to Healthcare, Ethical Decision Making and Career Camp are programs available to local high school students through partnerships between the Chamber, local schools and area businesses and manufacturers. Through these opportunities, students learn about local employment opportunities, responsibility and respect.

The Ethical Decision Making in the Workplace and Society Symposium is an all-day class that focuses on character building and doing the right thing. Students are placed with a business/ community representative who serves as their table leader.

It’s not only the students that benefit from school-to-work programs. Participating Hanover businesses welcome interested students to learn more about their business, showing area youth that good jobs are available in their own backyard. The area’s future workforce has the opportunity to learn about the great job and career opportunities available in the Hanover area. Skilled employees are needed in key areas including welding, industrial maintenance, quality control, physics and electronics, just to name a few.

Hanover Center for Workforce Excellence (HCWE) - HACC gives you access to affordable, high quality technical training! The HCWE also provides a number of HACC workforce training programs, including communication and soft skills, computer and IT classes.

Introduction to Manufacturing is an 18-week program designed to educate high school seniors about the manufacturing environment, potential career paths in manufacturing, and local career opportunities within the Hanover marketplace. ITM also provides students with the opportunity to earn 1 – 3 college credits in engineering at HACC. Introduction to Healthcare provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credits and nursing assistant certification. The 104-hour course is set forth by the profession of nursing and regulated by the state.

The Workplace and Career Readiness Camp is a summer program designed to expose incoming sophomores to career options - highdemand and non-traditional - within local Hanover businesses and industries.

The Intro to Manufacturing (ITM) program welcomed the class of 2016-17 in Sept. Approximately 20 students from Hanover and South Western school districts took part in the 18week program, designed to educate high school seniors about the manufacturing environment, potential career paths in manufacturing, and local career opportunities within the Hanover marketplace. This year’s participating class will speak to members at the January Eye-Opener Breakfast, held at Bay City Restaurant. Students will share their experience in the ITM program and members will learn how they can support workforce programs in the Hanover area. For more information, or to show support for these workforce initiatives by making a contribution, please visit hanoverchamber.com/ programs/workforce-development.

Nutrition for Full Engagement, presented by Jim Sponaugle Date: January 19, 8-10 a.m. Topic: Do you ever feel sluggish during the work day? How we eat has a profound effect on our energy management. The reality is many of us simply eat too infrequently, too little, or too much throughout the day, significantly impacting the way we feel. Learn techniques to maximize your energy. Easy to implement concepts can be applied to your daily routine. Location: Hanover Chamber Office Cost: $30/member, $50/non-member Employment Law Annual Review - What the Trump Presidency May Mean for Employers, presented by Stock & Leader Attorneys at Law Date: February 24, 8-10 a.m. (7:30 a.m. continental breakfast) Topic: This year’s annual review will focus on the unanticipated election results and how that may impact employers and employment law. President-Elect Trump’s “probusiness” perspective, coupled with significant support from working class voters (including some union members), has created an interesting dynamic. While the answers will likely unfold over the next two years, here are some questions which we will attempt to address: FLSA: What is the likely fate of the DOL overtime rules in the wake of the Federal Court injunction? Healthcare Reform (Again?!?): Will “Obamacare” be amended or repealed and, if so, replaced by what? Federal Regulation: Will the Obama Administration’s expansion of the scope of employment regulation by the EEOC, the NLRB and the OSHA administration be slowed down and/or dialed back? Immigration: Will enforcement be ramped up and/or work visa programs (such as H1B) become more restrictive? The Supreme Court: President-Elect Trump will have the opportunity to fill the current vacancy and potentially one or two additional vacancies that may occur; how will this likely impact the disposition of the numerous employment issues now pending before the Supreme Court or the Circuit Courts of Appeal? Location: John D. Bare Center, Guthrie Memorial Library Cost: $50/member; $75/non-member Key Strategies for Powerful Presentations, presented by Grace Elsner Date: March 23, 8 - 10 a.m. Topic: Would you like to be able to motivate, persuade and capture the attention of your audience? ACNB Corp. to Acquire New Windsor Bancorp ACNB Corporation, the parent financial holding company of ACNB Bank, recently announced the execution of a Definitive Agreement whereby New Windsor Bancorp, Inc. will be merged with and into an ACNB acquisition subsidiary and, as soon as possible thereafter, New Windsor State Bank, New Windsor’s wholly-owned subsidiary bank, will merge with and into ACNB Bank. Frank “Rusty” Elsner, III, ACNB Chairman of the Board, added, “We are very pleased to partner with New Windsor Bancorp, Inc., an organization that shares a similar culture and business philosophy. This new partnership will enable ACNB Corporation to profitably grow in a desirable market that is adjacent to our current footprint. We are also pleased to invite two directors from the New Windsor Bancorp, Inc. and New Windsor State Bank boards of directors to the boards of

directors of ACNB Corporation and ACNB Bank. We believe they will provide valuable insight into this new market as we look to successfully execute our strategic plan.” Based on the financial results as of September 30, 2016, the combined company would have pro forma total assets of $1.52 billion, total deposits of $1.24 billion, and loans of $1.13 billion. Once the merger is complete, ACNB will have 29 retail banking offices in Pennsylvania and Maryland --- offering a full range of integrated financial services, including banking, trust, brokerage, mortgage and insurance, as well as fullservice ATMs. ACNB indicated that since this is a market expansion transaction, many of New Windsor State Bank employees will be retained, specifically in the areas of lending, customer contact and retail.

Belco and Cornerstone Merger Belco Community Credit Union, headquartered in Harrisburg, Pa., and Cornerstone Federal Credit Union, based in Carlisle, Pa., have announced their intention to join forces to provide an improved member experience and added convenience for all members. Belco Community Credit Union and Cornerstone FCU have been growing their membership base since they were founded in Central Pennsylvania in 1939 and 1974, respectively. Once approved, this joint collaborative effort will serve approximately 63,000 members with assets of $555 million. The opportunity to combine operational resources and talent will enable these strong

regional credit unions to expand their branch and ATM network, most notably in Mechanicsburg, Gettysburg, Hanover and Carlisle, and take advantage of back-office economies of scale, including technology. A combined asset and capital base will keep rates on financial products and services low, position the credit union for continued growth, and deepen community involvement. Both Belco and Cornerstone share a charitable commitment to programs dedicated to children, families and financial literacy. The Belco Community Credit Union name will remain the same. Leaders from both credit unions are working on the details of how to preserve the Cornerstone brand and its long-standing legacy.

HB McClure Co. Exceeds $2,000 Donation Goal HB McClure Company proudly announced that they have reached and surpassed their donation goal of $2,000 to the Feel Your Boobies® Foundation, a non-profit breast cancer organization that promotes proactive breast health to young women.

In September, HB McClure announced that they had paired up with Feel Your Boobies® in support of breast cancer awareness, pledging to donate $1 for every residential

service call, maintenance inspection, and installation completed during October. When HB McClure launched this program Oct. 1, the donation goal was set at $2,000. This benchmark was exceeded by the end of the month, and the company presented Feel Your Boobies® with a check for $2,137.00 on Nov. 17, 2016.

n The Members Advantage Program has earned dividends 14 out of the past 16 years. n Dividend is earned on all business lines (excluding Umbrella and bonds). The more coverages you have with Penn National Insurance, the greater your dividend potential. n Dividends are based on the total of the group’s premium and losses. Even if your business suffers a loss, you can still earn a dividend. n As the program grows, so does dividend potential. Join today.
