Kate Klunk, Rep. Stanley Saylor, Rep. Will Tallman and U.S. Congressman Scott Perry's Deputy Chief of Staff Bob Reilly. Representatives discussed a number of relevant issues with the constituents in attendance, with much of the conversation centered on taxes. Rep. Saylor stressed the importance of restructuring taxes and his plan to introduce tax incentives to help businesses in PA grow. According to Rep. Saylor, unemployment, worker's comp. and welfare in PA are among the highest in the country. Speaking on behalf of Congressman Perry, Bob Reilly shared that a number of bipartisan bills have passed including a human trafficking bill. More contentious issues such as healthcare are causing widespread conflict in Congress. Reilly also discussed raising the debt ceiling, reducing trade deficit and updating NAFTA. Additionally, Reps. Members Advantage Program Declares a 10% Dividend Penn National Insurance declared a 10% dividend for the Members Advantage Program (MAP), a business insurance program of the York, Hanover and Gettysburg Chambers of Commerce. With this dividend, the company has returned more than $10.3 million to the local business community. MAP offers members affordable, comprehensive coverages on property and casualty insurance with the opportunity to earn dividends. An important aspect of this group insurance program is preventing loss and controlling claims costs. Because dividends are based on the group's collective loss experience, a business that may have had a significant loss may still be eligible to receive a dividend. Penn National is able to declare a dividend because of the group's collective premium volume and below-threshold loss experience. The results: the opportunity to earn a dividend at the end of the plan year because of lower loss experience. The Penn National Insurance program is just one of many benefits of Chamber membership. For more information, contact Haley Briggs at 717-637-6130 ext. 104 or hbriggs@hanoverchamber. com

This program may be submitted for SHRM credits. This program has been submitted to the HR Certification Institute for Review. Location: John D. Bare Center, Guthrie Memorial Library Cost: $50/member; $75/non-member To register, please contact the Chamber Office at 717-637-6130 ext. 100 or office@hanoverchamber.com.
