Noplace, A Mashup of Twitter and Myspace For Gen Z, Hits No. 1 On The App Store
Bringing the “social” back to “social media,” the new app called noplace is making waves and just hit the top of the App Store after coming out of invite-only mode on Wednesday. Perfect for the younger crowd or anyone who wants to connect with friends and share interests, noplace is like a modern-day Myspace with its colorful, customizable profiles. You can share everything from your relationship status to what you’re listening to, watching, reading, or doing. What's cool is that noplace had already gone viral before its public launch thanks to a fun feature that lets users customize their profile colors. Even though Gen Z didn’t grow up with Myspace and all its wild customizations, there’s still a bit of nostalgia for a social networking experience they never had.
Talky Social App Airchat Gets a Major Overhaul, Making It More Like An Asynchronous Clubhouse
Think of the new Airchat as an asynchronous Clubhouse: you join channels on topics that interest you, then record voice messages or videos to chat with others in that channel. If a thread gets too crowded, you can start group DMs to keep the conversation going. This is quite a shift from its original Twitter-like social feed, but even then, it had topic-based group chats for things like startups, fitness, and books.
“With our initial launch, we saw so much interest in the topic-based groups that we decided to double down on them and connect more like-minded people,” Airchat designer Kyle Barber told TechCrunch. “Now, it’s all about focusing on what you like and finding others in those rooms or channels to talk with.”
LinkedIn’s expanding its sponsored articles ad option to sponsored newsletters as well, providing another way for brands to generate leads from their LinkedIn content.
And with LinkedIn newsletters seeing significant growth in the app, it could be a valuable consideration to help get your branding in front of more people within your sector.
LinkedIn launched sponsored articles back in January, which enables brands to gate their posted content in the app.
HouseFresh Sounds the Alarm: There’s Something Fishy Happening in Google Search
Small independent publishers are being demoted on Google to give way to big media sites. These larges sites are using an SEO content strategy called ‘swarming’ to out-publish independent sites, and then using that traffic to earn affiliate commissions. For example, why does Forbes Magazine now have thousands of articles about dogs and cats?
Because the site is posting affiliate links for pet insurance.
In addition, trusted publications such as Money Magazine are being flipped by SEO-minded people with a taste for affiliate money.
Step one: Buy the site. Step two: Fire staff. Step three: Revamp the content strategy to drive new monetizable traffic from Google.
Starting today you can enroll in my new monthly coaching program where I will teach you how to turn PLR content into spendable cash using several underground methods.
Each and every month you'll get a new lesson showing you a different way to profit with the PLR products you already have. Each month will be a different lesson (sometimes delivered as a stepby-step PDF and sometimes delivered as video tutorial lessons, and even sometimes a mixture of both) that you can download, view, and then implement to start making money with PLR content.
This 12 month coaching program can help you feel good about every PLR purchase you've made (even those "junky" ones because I will show you how to polish them 'til they shine!). The PLR Profits Coaching Club can justify every penny you've spent. It can make those purchases worth something to you because you can put that content to work making money for you.

Using The Validation Trick to ‘Mind Control’ Your
Audience
Imagine you're scrolling through Amazon, unsure of which product to buy. But when you notice that one has a "Best Seller" badge, you choose that one without a second thought.
Humans are social animals. We instinctively look to others when we aren't sure what to do. At a concert, if you're unsure whether to clap, you wait for someone else to start. Once two other people begin clapping, everyone else joins in. This is called validation, and we can use it to our advantage in marketing.
We have a deep-rooted need to belong and feel validated. Seeing others make a choice reassures us. That’s why testimonials, user reviews, and “Most Popular” tags work so well. They whisper to us, “Everyone else is doing it, and they’re happy.”
This isn't just about following the crowd; it’s about trust. We trust others' experiences and decisions. That’s why customer reviews are the first thing you read on a product page. You’re subconsciously tapping into the collective experience of strangers to decide if a product is good.
Using the validation helps your brand by leveraging this natural human tendency. Without realizing it, people make choices based on what others do.
“But how can I use this?” you ask. Here are a few strategies:
Use the "Bandwagon Effect"
People tend to follow the crowd, believing the majority must be right. Highlight high user numbers, follower counts, or downloads to create a sense of popularity and encourage others to join. For example, Dropbox used a referral program that gave users extra storage for inviting friends, leading to a 60% increase in sign-ups.
Curate User-Generated Content
Encourage customers to share their experiences with your product on social media. Showcase that content on your website or ads. This amplifies positive reviews and creates a sense of community around your brand. Starbucks asked customers to decorate their cups and share photos on social media, generating over 4,000 submissions in just three weeks.
Employ "Storytelling"
Compelling stories connect with people emotionally. Share customer success stories, behind-the-scenes glimpses, or the origin story of your brand. This fosters emotional connections and trust. For example, TOMS donates a pair of shoes for every purchase, creating an emotional connection with customers.
In a marketplace where everyone is trying to be noticed, those who understand and use the power of validation will stand out. Use these strategies to tap into the need for validation and see your conversions rise.
Forget Everything You Know About Social Media: Embracing Chaos
Are you struggling to make social media work for you? Wondering how your marketing needs to change?
Here’s how Michael Stelzner suggests you can embrace these changing social times.
Talky Social App Airchat Gets a Major Overhaul, Making It More Like An Asynchronous Clubhouse
Think of the new Airchat as an asynchronous Clubhouse: you join channels on topics that interest you, then record voice messages or videos to chat with others in that channel. Seth Godin is a well-known entrepreneur, author, and speaker who focuses on marketing, leadership, and change. Godin has written numerous bestselling books, including "Purple Cow," "Linchpin," and "This Is Marketing." He is known for his insights on how ideas spread, the importance of being remarkable in business, and the concept of permission marketing.
This is Seth’s own list of tools he uses regularly that in his words, ‘makes him smile because the creators decided to build something with extra magic and care.’ By using and paying for well-crafted software, we often get far more than we pay for.
Ecamm: This tool is his go-to for online talks, recordings, and meetings. Seth says t's powerful, so it takes some time to master, but the company's responsiveness and support are terrific.
Superhuman: Although it requires some ramp-up time, Seth says this email client is a worthwhile investment for its powerful features and efficiency.
Nisus: Still the most powerful, easiest, and kindest word processor he knows.
Ocen: His favorite audio editor for its simplicity and effectiveness.
Roon: Not only does it sound great, but it also helps you discover music you'll love.
Riverside: Far better than Zoom for recording interviews with its superior quality and features.
Kittl: A fine place to mock-up logos with ease and creativity.
Shippo: Makes sending packages cheaper and easier, streamlining the shipping process.
Lightburn: The best way Seth knows to control a laser cutter with precision and ease.
Overcast: The podcast listening app with the best user experience.
Opal: A dynamic combination of a webcam and great software that enhances video quality. These tools demonstrate that when software is done well, it can greatly enhance productivity and enjoyment.
Stand Out With Contrarian Marketing
Doing the Opposite Gets You Noticed
Ever feel like all ads look the same? Everyone follows the same trends, uses the same words, and promotes the same way. But what if you did the opposite? That's where contrarian marketing comes in. It’s all about standing out by doing things differently.
What is Contrarian Marketing?
Contrarian marketing means looking at what everyone else is doing and then doing something completely different. When you go against the crowd, people notice. You’re not just another voice in the sea; you’re the one that stands out.
Favorite Examples of Contrarian Marketing
Kanye West’s Yeezy Super Bowl Ad
Kanye West is known for doing things his own way. For his Yeezy fashion line, he created a Super Bowl commercial that was unlike any other, filming it from his cell phone in the backseat of a car.
“Hey y’all, this is Ye and this is my commercial,” began the dark, grainy vertically-shot iPhone video that did not look like an ad.
The “Gold Digger” rapper admitted that because he “spent all the money on the commercial spot” his brand “actually didn’t spend any money on the actual commercial.”
“But the idea is I want you to go to Yeezy.com,” he continued, spelling out the site’s name and adding, “Imma write it at the bottom of the screen.”
West finished off the bizarre spot by saying, “and I got some shooooes, and ummmm… that’s it.”
This was wildly different from the typical ultra-expensive, highenergy, celebrity-filled Super Bowl ads, and it got people talking.
Did it work? Let’s do the math:
• West spent $7 million for the airtime.
• He spent $0 for the ad itself
• And that ad resulted in $19 million in sales on the first day.
He essentially turned $7 million into $19 million… In one day.

Apple’s “Think Different” Campaign
When Apple launched its "Think Different" campaign, everyone else was focusing on how their products worked. Apple chose to focus on the people who used their products: artists, innovators, and thinkers.
The campaign celebrated creativity and individuality, which helped Apple stand out in the tech world.
Old Spice’s “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” Campaign
Old Spice was known for being an old-fashioned brand. Instead of continuing with their traditional ads, they created the "The Man Your Man Could Smell Like" campaign.
It featured funny, over-the-top commercials that were completely different from anything else at the time. This fresh approach made Old Spice cool and relevant again.
Tips for Your Own Contrarian Marketing Campaign
1. Research Your Competition. Look at what your competitors are doing. What do their ads look like? What message are they sending? Once you know this, you can plan to do something different.
2. Understand Your Audience. Know who your audience is and what they expect. Then, think about how you can surprise them. Doing the unexpected can grab their attention.
3. Be Bold and Creative. Don’t be afraid to take risks. Bold, creative ideas are what make contrarian marketing work. Think outside the box and try something new.
4. Focus on Your Unique Selling Point (USP). What makes your product or service unique? Highlight this in a way that contrasts with your competitors. Show why you’re different and better.
5. Keep It Simple. Sometimes, simplicity stands out. In a world full of complicated messages, a simple, clear message can be very effective.
6. Use Different Channels. If everyone is advertising on TV, try social media. If everyone is on social media, try print. Using different channels can help you reach your audience in unexpected ways.
Contrarian marketing is about daring to be different. By doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing, you can stand out and get noticed.
It takes guts to film your Superbowl ad on your phone in one take from the back of your car. I mean really, who does something so different and crazy?
Someone who spends $7million to make $19million, that’s who. Be bold, be creative, and watch how people start paying attention to you.
If You Only Have 1 Hour a Day to Build a OnePerson Business, Do This
Anyone can make excuses:
“I don’t have time.”
“I don’t have the energy.”
“I’ll start on it next week/month/year/lifetime.”
Instead of making excuses, try adapting to your constraints.
Even though you work a 40-hour job, you can still build an online business.
I don’t know what your business is, but as an example let’s say it involves a good deal of content creation.
You’ve got time before work. After work. Commuting on the train. Waiting for an appointment. Lunch breaks. Days off.
A few minutes here, a couple of hours and there and pretty soon your ‘down’ time adds up to real time.
The key is to work with your constraints rather than waiting for a better time which never comes.
Here's what you can do:
• Wake up an hour early on weekdays.
• Limit social events between Sunday and Thursday nights.
• Rarely watch TV or Netflix.
• Work over most of the weekend.
• Here’s what NOT to do:
• Sacrifice your sleep. Getting a good 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night is imperative for health and cognitive abilities.
• Skip exercise. Aim to exercise for at least 20 minutes every day. You’ll sleep better, think better and get more done.
• Work 18 hours a day. You need time away from work and your business to unwind and refresh. If you work too many hours, quality suffers and you’ll burn out.
• Neglect friends and family. Family and friends don’t stop being important just because you’re building a business. You might be lazy, but you can use your laziness strategically. Ask yourself:
What’s the least amount of work you can do to keep progressing?
When you start building online, maybe you write every day for 15 minutes. That’s it. No more. No less. Then you slowly increase over time. Habits take time to change. You can’t rush the process. Start with whatever time works for you.
If you only have 10, 15, or 20 minutes per day, start there. Don’t overwhelm yourself. The one thing that kills most online marketers is doing too much too soon and then quitting altogether.
Do the opposite by adopting a sustainable pace and keeping up even on your worst days and weeks.
In six months, you can either have an online business or be in exactly the same spot you are in now. Start with 15 - 60 minutes a day to create your online empire.
TikTok Boosts AI with New Chatbot "Genie"
TikTok is boosting its AI capabilities.
The popular video app filed to trademark "Genie" in the US for an AI chatbot.
This chatbot will simulate conversations, help humans interact with AI, and create human-like speech and text, according to a US Patent and Trademark Office filing.
Owned by Chinese company ByteDance, TikTok already uses a powerful AI algorithm and has been working on generative AI tools.
In 2023, TikTok tested an AI recommendation chatbot called Tako, which suggested videos based on user requests.
The company also used OpenAI’s code to develop its own large language models, reported The Verge. Recently, TikTok introduced new AI features for its ad services, including digital avatars and AI dubbing.
The new trademark filing for "Genie" suggests TikTok is developing a more advanced chatbot for the US, beyond just search recommendations.
This development comes as TikTok faces the possibility of being sold by its parent company or banned in early 2025.
The Biden administration believes TikTok’s Chinese ownership may threaten national security.
TikTok is challenging this measure in court, arguing it’s unconstitutional and violates First Amendment rights.
Case Study: $30,500 Plus per Month Reading Reddit Posts
This one seems almost too easy to be true, and yet here we are.
If you’ve spent any time on Reddit, you’ve most likely run across one or more “AITA” posts, which stands for, “Am I The A***OLE?”
These are posts made by people who describe a situation of theirs in which someone is accusing them of being the a***ole. They state their case, and then Redditors weigh in with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and explain their reasoning.
I found a guy who is using these Reddit AITA posts to make as much as $30,500 every single month. All this person is doing is turning these posts into videos, loading them onto YouTube and partnering in YouTube’s advertising revenue program.
If you want to try something like this yourself, you don’t need to go on camera to do it. In fact, you don’t even need to use your own voice if you don’t want to, thanks to voice artists or AI.
The YouTube channel is called ‘Am I the Jerk?’ This person goes on Reddit.com and finds interesting and entertaining posts. He then reads them aloud while playing video footage of a video game.
He is just one of several people doing this and you can do it, too.
To give you an idea of what these videos are like, here’s the latest one as of this writing: Karen INTENTIONALLY scares off BUYERS to STOP ME from SELLING MY CONDO.. so now I'M GONNA SUE HER https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTiDb6gV27o
The video begins with…
“My entitled neighbor is scaring off buyers who are trying to buy my condo, constantly making snide remarks as well as potentially racist ones to anybody that she doesn't like. Things are so bad that I'm now considering going through legal action just to try and get this lady to leave me alone so that I can finally sell this condo. Because right now I am completely at a loss and I seriously don't know what to do. Here's what happened…”
This copy is verbatim from a Reddit post, and the visual aspect of the video has nothing to do with the audio, which is an AI text-to-voice reading the Reddit post. You could certainly improve upon this by making the video at least somewhat match the text.
This channel has 1.22million subscribers, with videos reaching as many as 10 million views.
Assuming they're getting paid from YouTube, we can look at the typical CPM (cost per thousand) and do some calculations. Typically for every thousand video views, they get paid approximately $10. For the video with 10 million views, that would mean they’ve so far made $100,000 for that one video.
If you go to socialblade.com and plug in @AmItheJerk, you’ll see the estimated annual earnings are $22.9K to $366K.
This channel was started in 2021 and has 4,185 uploads, which sounds like a crazy amount until you realize how easy it is to make these videos. Copy and paste the text into AI speech to text, add completely unrelated video footage and that’s it. It will likely take you longer to read through the text on Reddit to be sure you want to use it than it will be to make the actual video from that text.
This channel also has “Am I The Genius?” videos which use Reddit posts where someone asks a question and then experts weigh in with the answer. For example, “Historians, What is the Strangest Chain of Events You Have Studied?”
And this channel isn’t alone. When you search you can find other YouTubers doing something similar.
To do this yourself you’re going begin by locating social media posts. While you could go places other than Reddit to find these posts, I’d highly recommend you begin on Reddit because of the sheer volume and variety of content here.
You can do this in any niche market. Reddit is filled with thousands of ‘subreddits’ on any topic imaginable. And I mean any topic. And if by some miracle you find a topic not covered, you can start your own subreddit.
Just to illustrate the wild, strange and sometimes bizarre variety of subreddits (in addition to the thousands of ‘normal’ ones), here are a few of the odder ones I’ve encountered:
• r/EnlightenedBirdmen - a subreddit about a fictional war of birds vs humans
• r/ZombieSurvivalTactics - various tips and strategies for how to survive a zombie apocalypse.
• r/CarpetsforAirports - a subreddit for people that like airport carpets (I’m not making this up)
• r/MyEvilPlan - people discuss their evil schemes of revenge or pranks and get constructive feedback and advice.
• r/PointlessStories – stories from people who haven’t done or seen anything interesting to talk about.
• r/FifthWorldProblems - dedicated to the hypothetical problems experienced in a world that exists outside of normal reality, sometimes with hilarious results.
• r/BreadStapledToTrees - pictures of bread stapled to trees (Yes, this is a real subreddit. No, I have no idea why this is a thing.)
To give you a head start on where to find material for your videos, you might want to check out these subreddits featuring stories:
• r/relationships and r/relationship_advice - adorable romantic anecdotes, complicated family ties and even dangerous liaisons.
• r/AmItheAsshole - a redditor recounts a situation they're in and everyone else decides if that person is being a jerk.
• r/confessions and r/confession - confessions ranging from silly and sweet to horribly dark.
• r/tifu - "today I fu**ed up" is filled with stories of immediate panic alongside stories of regret and even a few lighthearted tales.
• r/legaladvice - people telling stories of things going sideways or far worse and looking for legal pointers. (This subreddit is for informational purposes only and is not intended to constitute actual legal advice.)
• r/JUSTNOMIL - "Just No, Mother-in-Law" is a subreddit for people dealing with difficult mothers, mothers-inlaw, and other maternal figures, with tales ranging from bizarre to tragic. There's a whole network of similar subreddits.
• r/TalesFromTechSupport and r/TalesFromRetailpacked with stories of difficult customers, often featuring their satisfying comeuppance, as well as tales of regret and victories.
• r/IDontWorkHereLady - tales of innocent bystanders accosted by aggressive customers who mistake them for employees.
• r/LetsNotMeet and r/creepyencounters - tales of frightening places populated by dangerous or simply strange people.
Whatever your niche might be - entrepreneurship, gaming, gardening, pets, etc. - there are subreddits for you to discover. You can sort the posts on subreddits by how hot or new they are to find the best posts for your purposes.
It’s important to choose a subject and stick with it, rather than jumping around from entrepreneur posts to gaming to ‘am I the jerk’ type of posts. As with anything else, choose your niche and target audience and then stay focused on that niche.
To convert the text-to-speech, you can read and record it yourself, or use a text to speech tool such as one of these:
• Amazon Polly - A cloud-based service that uses advanced deep learning technologies to synthesize speech.
• Balabolka - A free, downloadable app for Windows that supports multiple file formats and voices.
• Capti Voice - Aimed at improving accessibility, it supports a wide range of file formats and offers educational tools.
• Eleven Labs - High quality free text to speech online. Use AI text to speech to create realistic AI voices for games, videos, podcasts, and more for free.
• Google Text-to-Speech - Available on Android devices, this tool integrates seamlessly with various apps and services.
• IBM Watson Text to Speech - A robust, AI-powered service providing natural-sounding voices and multiple customization options.
• iSpeech - Provides a variety of voices and languages, suitable for both personal and professional use.
• Microsoft Azure Text-to-Speech - Part of the Azure Cognitive Services suite, offering high-quality voices and extensive language support.
• NaturalReader - A versatile text-to-speech tool offering both online and offline capabilities, with a range of natural-sounding voices.
• TTSReader - A free, browser-based tool that supports various languages and offers simple, straightforward functionality.
• Voice Dream Reader - An iOS app designed for reading and accessibility, featuring customizable voices and settings.
Copy and paste your text into your app and it does the work for you, often with a wide choice of voices including custom voices.
Seriously, there are so many text-to-voice tools out there, you'll want to try a few to find the one that works best for you. You'll find the text often needs a little cleaning up before you paste it in. Look for typos as well as anything that doesn't clearly communicate the intention of the writer.
As you create these videos you may want to find one voice you particularly like and use that voice throughout all of your videos for consistency.
When your audio is finished it's time to make your video. Just like text-to-voice generators, there are a ton of video tools you can use. To keep things simple, let's just talk about one - Lumen5. With Lumen5 you’re letting AI do most of the work for you, meaning you spend less time creating videos and more time doing whatever else you want to do, including making even more videos.
Remember in our example of YouTube’s ‘Am I the Jerk?’ channel, they’ve got 4,185 videos uploaded. That is a LOT and if it weren’t for automation they never would have been able to create a tenth of those videos.
That said, quality is in my opinion MUCH more important than quantity. But with Lumen 5 or a similar program, you’re going to create videos people enjoy listening to AND watching.

Today we are honoured to welcome Jimmy D Brown, a pioneer, an esteemed figure in internet marketing. Celebrating 24 years of remarkable innovation and quality, Jimmy is a revered advocate of the PLR or Private Label Rights movement. Known for his high quality products like Earncome and Nicheology. As he approaches his well-deserved retirement next year, Jimmy joins us for one of his very rare interviews, sharing the wisdom he's accumulated over nearly a quarter of a century in the business. Jimmy, welcome.
Jimmy D Brown:
Well, thanks very much for having me. Really, I'm the one who's honoured to be a part of your podcast here, so I really appreciate the invite.
Editor:
Oh, that's very nice of you to say, but thank you for joining us. Could we start by asking how you initially got involved in internet marketing and the creation of your products?
Jimmy D Brown:
So back in the late '90s, I first came online to buy some sports cards for a collectible shop that I owned, and I started getting these spam emails about making money online. So I looked at the offers that were being made and became intrigued, because I had always loved writing and the thought of creating a digital information product sounded appealing to me. I liked the idea of doing the work once and then you get paid over and over again, really with very little operating costs.
So I began brainstorming ideas for what I might write about, and I stumbled upon a website called X.com, which was actually owned by Elon Musk, although no one really knew who he was back then. Well, this was an online bank and they gave new customers $25 to open up a free account with them. But the really interesting thing to me was, they would also give $25 for every customer that you referred to them who opened up a free account.
So I wrote this little ebook that I sold for $12.95, and the whole premise was to show people some ways to make money online, one of which could earn them $25 over and over again. Well, people would buy the $12.95 cent ebook from me, click through to X.com through my referral link to open their account, and then I'd earn $25 in commission.
Over and over and over again this happened. It was awesome. I thought I was set up for life. But then X.com merged with another company and changed its name to PayPal. And PayPal decided they weren't going to do the $25 referrals anymore. So not only was I not going to be able to get those commissions, but I could also no longer sell my $12.95 cent ebook because it was no longer valid. I was basically out of business. But I saw the potential for selling information products to a global audience from the comfort of my home, and I quickly started creating new resources, and been continually doing so since August 2000, when I launched profitsvault.com.
Editor:
Well, legend has it that you are the person who invented PLR as a term or a concept. So tell me, how did that come about, and what drove you to invent the PLR licence?
Jimmy D Brown:
Toward the beginning of 2003, I started a monthly membership site called profitsvaultmonthly.com, where I created a new ebook every month, and members received master resale rights to it. This was uneditable, so they couldn't make any changes to it, but they were licenced to sell it and keep 100% of all the income that they generated. I'm a very prolific writer, but keeping up with a new ebook every month became a little bit of a challenge for me, and late in the year, I found myself struggling to make my monthly deadline. I had hired a ghost writer to create a few niche eBooks for me in markets that I was unfamiliar with, but I never did anything with those. So one month, I decided to release them to my Profits Vault monthly members instead of a regular ebook that I wrote. And I gave these to members in a fully editable document with a licence to edit them and use them as if they had wrote the content themselves.
And these products in the rough, which is what I called them, they were a huge hit. I mean, people loved them. So the next month, I did the same thing, and again, they were incredibly well received. Well, during that time, I was down in Austin, Texas, working on another project with Ryan Deiss. At one time, we co-authored a number of products together and even formed an LLC together, and I told him that I was onto something here and we decided to open a monthly membership site with these editable niche products. We called it Nicheology.
And as we were writing the sales letter, Ryan turned to me and said, "Well, what do we call these things?" And I said, "Well, I guess we should call them private label licences." And so we launched the first ever PLR membership site, and very quickly sold out 1,500 memberships at 29.97 per month, and PLR, as I envisioned it at least, started there and took on a life of its own after that.
Editor:
Well, over 24 years, I'm sure you've seen a lot of changes in the digital landscape. What are some of the pivotal moments for you in the early days?
Jimmy D Brown:
Well, one of the biggest things for me was making that first $12.95. And that's because I realised right then and there, this thing works. It wasn't much money, but it proved that my system worked. I knew that I just needed to scale things to make a lot of money while helping a lot of people. That's one of the lessons that I learned early on that served me really well, and that is this, rather than trying to be good at many things, be great at a few things. I'm a big believer in mastering one thing before starting to do a second thing. Make it work, make it work better, make it work as best as it can be, and then you make something else work. It's important to make something else work, of course, because I learned that lesson from x.com. You don't want to count on one thing as your only thing.
The old saying is, "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket," and that's true. So when you master something, it's important to diversify after that. When you have multiple streams of income, if one of them dries up, it won't ruin you while you find a way to replace it. Back in 2001, after the terrorist attacks on the United States, a lot of online sales really slowed in my industry because people weren't spending money on digital goods while they were wondering what was going to happen next. But I was okay because I had a monthly membership site. While my other products weren't selling as well, my monthly residual income was still coming in like clockwork. I was able to continue supporting my young family during some incredibly difficult times.
Editor:
Well, Jimmy, you've set a high standard of product quality in an industry that's often flooded with quick solutions. How important is maintaining quality for you and why?
Jimmy D Brown:
When I was just getting started, I purchased an information product that promised something like 20 ways to make money selling on eBay, and it was literally like this, "Make money on eBay by selling video games. Make money on eBay by selling jewelry. Make money on eBay by selling books. Make money on eBay by selling electronics," and so forth…
MWM Q & A
4 Powerful Traffic Drivers You’re Overlooking
I guarantee you’re not doing at least 3 of these methods, and yet all of them are incredibly powerful at driving super targeted traffic straight to your site.
1: Forget Everything You Think You Know About Influencers Influencers. They seem to be everywhere these days, but what exactly are they?
Forget the stereotype of teenagers dancing on TikTok. Influencers are anyone who holds sway over an audience. This could be someone with a massive email list, a popular blog, or even an anonymous business page on Facebook.
The key thing is that they have an audience's attention. And if you can get them to send that attention your way, it can become extremely valuable to you.
You don't need a massive audience of your own to leverage influencer marketing. Even with a brand-new product or service, you can partner with influencers to drive sales.
Just find someone who aligns with your niche and has a following. Offer them a commission on any sales they generate, and they'll be incentivized to promote your product or service to their audience.
Finding Influencers is Easier Than You Think
Finding influencer contact information is often much simpler than you might imagine. Many influencers include their contact details in their bios or on their websites.
With a little detective work (think browsing "Contact Us" pages), you can often find email addresses, phone numbers, and even physical addresses.
The Power of Partnership
By partnering with influencers, you gain access to a ready-made audience without the upfront cost of traditional advertising. You only pay when you make a sale.
Here's the key: Be generous with your commission structure. Influencers who are well-compensated will be more likely to enthusiastically promote your brand over the long term.
With a network of just 10-12 well-chosen influencers, you can create a powerful marketing force for your business. They'll promote your brand on a regular basis, driving traffic and sales.
Influencer marketing is accessible to almost anyone, including even the newest marketer if they play it smart. Just find out who your audience is paying attention to, and then start building partnerships with these influencers to get started.
2: Generate Buzz and Grow Your Audience with Powerful Giveaways
Looking for a dynamic way to boost website traffic and social media followers? Look no further than giveaways.
The Power of Free
Viral giveaways are a fantastic strategy to capture attention and build your audience. The concept is simple: Offer exciting prizes and watch engagement soar.
Here's How it Works
There are multiple ways to structure your giveaway. Sweepstakes offer a chance to win for everyone who enters. For a more interactive approach, consider a contest where participants earn points by sharing the giveaway with their network.
There are also giveaway management tools available, such as King Sumo, Woobox, and Rafflecopter. These tools streamline the process and make running a giveaway a breeze.
I’ve seen a single giveaway by a small time marketer result in 31,000 new Instagram followers, 14,000 new email subscribers and 18,000 social media shares.
Affordable Doesn't Mean Insignificant
Don't be discouraged if you can't afford a luxury car giveaway. The key is to offer prizes your target audience values.
Here are some creative ideas for budget-friendly prizes:
• Informational Products: Ebooks, online courses, or webinars can be incredibly valuable to your audience.
• Free Services: Offer a limited-time free trial of your service or a complimentary consultation.
• Discounted Products: Provide a high-value product at a fraction of the cost.
• Partner Up: Collaborate with other businesses to offer a collection of prizes.
Giveaways are a powerful tool to generate excitement, attract new followers, and build brand awareness. Get creative, choose prizes your audience desires, and watch your traffic and following take flight.
3: Unlocking Twitter's Traffic Potential with A Powerful Two-Step Approach
Despite recent controversies, Twitter remains a valuable resource for businesses. Surveys even show it delivers a higher return on ad spend than other major platforms. For every dollar invested in Twitter ads, you can expect an average return of $6.80.
Combining Organic and Paid Reach
Here's the magic formula:
1. Craft a Compelling Organic Post: Most users simply run ads, which often get buried in the timeline. Instead, start by creating an engaging organic post that captures attention. Think "reply-type" posts like "Want my 10 most profitable AI prompts? Comment 'prompts' below!"
2. Amplify Your Post with Targeted Ads: Once your organic post is live, head to the Twitter Ads dashboard. The key here is to select and promote your organic post. This injects paid fuel into your content, boosting its visibility.
The Benefits of This Approach
By combining organic and paid reach, you unlock a powerhouse strategy.
• Paid Reach: Targeted ads push your post to a wider audience, increasing its reach.
• Organic Growth: As people engage with your organic post (comments, likes), Twitter's algorithm takes notice and promotes it further for free.
This approach has yielded impressive results, with posts garnering millions of views.
4: Unleash the Power of Blogging and Paid Twitter Ads
Blogging might seem like a tired tactic, but it remains a cornerstone of effective content marketing. This is a powerful strategy that leverages blogging and paid Twitter ads to generate significant website traffic.
The key to success lies in content that resonates deeply with your target audience. Identify their biggest pain points and aspirations. Understanding these desires allows you to craft blog posts that provide genuine value and solutions.
Publish and Promote on Social Media
Once your content is live, share it across your social media platforms (at least Facebook and Twitter, ideally including Pinterest). This initial promotion jumpstarts traffic flow.
Amplify Reach with Paid Ads
Here's where the magic happens:
• Target Your Organic Post: Instead of creating a separate ad, promote the organic post you already shared on Twitter.
• Engagement Ads: Run an "engagement ad" specifically designed to boost interaction (likes, comments) with your post.
• Small Budget, Big Impact: Start with a modest daily budget (around $2-$5).
• Monitor and Optimize: Track ad performance. Let successful ads continue running and pause those that underperform.
By consistently implementing this strategy, you'll create a content pipeline that generates a steady stream of traffic. Expect to see a home run (exceptionally high performing post) every 10-30 posts you create. These high performers can deliver massive traffic spikes, attracting hundreds, even thousands of times more attention.
This approach is a proven method for driving significant website traffic. Start blogging valuable content, promote organically on social media, and then amplify reach with targeted Twitter ads. With consistent effort, you'll unlock a powerful traffic generation machine.
In order to BEAT your competitors today, you need to be Online and use Internet Marketing effectively for success in all facets of your business.

The Elon Musk Marketing Secret: Creating Massive Demand Through Scarcity
Ever wondered how a controversial product like Tesla's Cybertruck can generate so much buzz and demand? Despite mixed reviews calling it an "ugly refrigerator on wheels" and worse, the waiting list for this futuristic vehicle extends for years. What’s the secret behind this phenomenon? It’s a psychological trick that Elon Musk and his team have mastered: The Scarcity Principle.
The Power of Scarcity
Scarcity is a psychological trigger that makes products seem more valuable when they are perceived as rare or difficult to obtain. People tend to place higher value on items that are in limited supply. This principle can be incredibly powerful in driving demand and sales.
Case Study: Tesla Cybertruck
Tesla's Cybertruck is an awesome example of the scarcity principle in action. Before its official release, Tesla announced that the Cybertruck would have a limited production run. This created a sense of urgency among potential buyers. The result? A massive number of pre-orders, with many people willing to plunk down their money and then wait for years to get their hands on one.
How to Apply Scarcity in Your Business
You don’t need to be Elon Musk to use the scarcity principle effectively. Here are some tips to integrate this strategy into your marketing:
1. Limited Editions: Create limited edition versions of your products. This can apply to virtually any product, from clothing to tech gadgets. Announcing a limited run increases perceived value and urgency.
2. Time-Limited Offers: Use time-sensitive promotions. Whether it’s a flash sale, a holiday special, or a 24-hour discount, time-limited offers compel customers to act quickly.
3. Exclusive Memberships: Offer exclusive memberships or insider access to certain products or services. By making certain benefits available only to a select group, you enhance the desirability of your offerings.
4. Pre-Order Bonuses: Incentivize early purchases with bonuses for pre-orders. This not only gauges interest but also generates upfront revenue and builds anticipation.
Other Brands Mastering Scarcity
Nike’s Sneaker Drops
Nike uses scarcity masterfully through its SNKRS app, where they release limited quantities of new shoe designs. This strategy not only boosts demand but also keeps Nike at the forefront of sneaker culture.
Nintendo's Console Launches
Nintendo leveraged scarcity with the release of its Nintendo Wii. By intentionally launching with limited production numbers, they created a frenzy of demand, ensuring that the product remained highly sought after.
Supreme
Supreme is renowned for its "drop" culture, where they release a limited number of new items weekly. This creates a sense of urgency and exclusivity among customers. Each drop generates significant buzz, long lines outside stores, and instant sell-outs online, driving high demand and maintaining the brand's cult status.
Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton maintains exclusivity by producing limited quantities of its luxury goods. Additionally, they rarely have sales or discounts, enhancing the perception of rarity and value. This strategy helps maintain the brand’s highend image and allows them to command premium prices for their products.
Disney Vault
Disney uses the "Disney Vault" strategy, where they periodically release and then discontinue classic animated films. These movies are only available for purchase for a limited time before they are "locked away" again. This creates a sense of urgency among consumers to purchase the films while they are available, driving sales during the release windows.
Practical Tips for Your Own Marketing
To effectively incorporate scarcity into your marketing strategy, you might do the following:
• Highlight Limited Availability: Clearly communicate when an offer is limited. Use phrases like "Only a few left" or "Limited edition."
• Showcase Popularity: Display the number of units sold or the remaining stock to create a sense of urgency.
• Set Clear Deadlines: For time-limited offers, ensure that deadlines are clear and prominently displayed to encourage immediate action.
• Leverage Social Proof: Use testimonials and social media to show that others are taking advantage of the offer, enhancing its appeal.
• Use Countdown Timers: Implement countdown timers on your website for sales and promotions to create a sense of urgency.
• Show Stock Levels: Display low stock warnings on product pages to encourage quick purchases.
• Promote Exclusive Access: Offer early access or exclusive deals to loyal customers or subscribers to create a feeling of privilege and urgency.
Harnessing Scarcity Ethically
While the scarcity principle is powerful, it’s essential to use it ethically. Avoid creating false scarcity, as this can damage your brand’s reputation. Claiming there are only 20 electronic downloads left screams B.S. But you could add a bonus of a one-on-one training session that is limited to just 20 buyers, and now the scarcity makes sense. After all, you only have so many hours in a week.
By including the scarcity principle in your marketing strategy, you can create urgency, drive sales, and build a more engaged customer base, even if you happen to sell really ugly but expensive trucks

This update aims to give customers a more comprehensive view of a business’s online activity and engagement.
Why Should You Create a Membership Site?
According to a Google help page, businesses that have associated their social media links with their GBP may now find their social media posts automatically surface on their profiles.
Essentially, a membership site is a site that users pay to subscribe to. This normally works by first enticing the reader with some free content and showing them the kind of entertainment/information/value that you’re capable of providing.
Once they’re hooked, you then make sure they know that they need to subscribe in order to gain access to your very best content and to get frequently updated. So what’s so different about this? Well for starters, it means that you can much more easily convert visitors to paying customers seeing as they’re not having to put down a large amount of money and seeing as they know what they’re getting right away. This means the money is recurring and much more predictable.

12 Proven Hacks for Unforgettable Content and Ads This Month’s Marketing CLINIC
Okay, yes, that was a dumb question. What’s the point of creating content or an ad that’s forgotten before they even leave the page? You’d be better off standing on the street corner holding a sign with your URL.
Making content and ads memorable is about first cutting through the noise and getting noticed, and then creating a lasting impression. And that’s no small order, is it?
Here are some simple tips to make your advertising and content stand apart, be memorable and get them to take action.
1. Tell a Story
You know that people love stories. Instead of just showing your product, create a story around it. Make the audience feel something happy, sad, excited, or surprised. For example, instead of just showing a car, tell a story about a family's road trip in that car.
2. Use Strong Visuals
Strong uncluttered visuals catch people’s eyes. Use bright colors, interesting images, and cool graphics. Think about how Nike uses powerful images of athletes in action. These visuals stick in people’s minds.
3. Be Funny
Humor lowered defenses and makes your content stand out. And when you make people laugh, they’re more likely to remember your ad or content. Just make sure the humor fits your brand. Think about the funny ads you’ve seen from brands like Doritos or Geico.
4. Create a Catchy Slogan
A catchy slogan is easy to remember. It should be short, simple, and to the point. Think about Nike’s “Just Do It” or McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It.” If you’re old enough to remember Wendy’s, “Where’s the Beef?” then you know exactly what we’re talking about here. Use a slogan that’s easy to recall and instantly connects the brand to the consumer.
5. Use Music and Jingles
Music and jingles can stick in your head. A catchy tune can make your ad or content unforgettable. If you’re in the US, think about the “Nationwide is on Your Side” jingle. It’s simple, but it stays with you.
Stand out from the crowd. Look at what other brands are doing and do something different. Kanye West’s Yeezy fashion line Super Bowl commercial stood out because it was unlike any other ad. It got people talking because it was so unique.
7. Engage Your Audience
Get people involved and make them feel like they’re part of something. Ask questions, create polls, or run contests. Encourage people to interact with your ad or content. Ask them to share their thoughts, participate in a challenge, or try a demo. When people actively engage, they remember the experience more vividly.
8. Repeat Your Message
Repetition helps people remember. Don’t just show your ad once. Run it multiple times across different platforms. The more people see it, the more likely they are to remember it.
9. The Power of Surprise
POW!!! Surprise grabs attention. When people see something unexpected, they pay attention and remember it. Think about ads and content that have surprising twists or unusual elements. They stand out because they break the norm.
10. Link Your Product to Something They Already Know
Connecting your product to something familiar makes it easier to understand and remember. If your product is like something they already know, explain it that way. For example, if you’re selling a new type of snack, compare it to a popular snack they already love.
11. Keep It Simple
Simple messages are easier to remember. Don’t overload your audience with too much information. Stick to one main idea and make it clear.
Think about Apple’s ads they are simple but very effective.
Emotions make ads and content memorable. When an ad or piece of content makes you feel something, you remember it better. Show how your product can make people happy, excited, or even nostalgic. An emotional connection can make a big impact.
Examples of Memorable Ads and Content
• Apple’s “Think Different” Campaign: Apple’s ads featuring famous figures like Albert Einstein and Martin Luther King Jr. made a big impact.
• Old Spice’s “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like”: This ad was funny, unique, and had a catchy slogan, making it unforgettable.
12. Evoke Emotions
Building a $3,000/Month Passive Income Stream in 24 Hours
Creating a sustainable business doesn't have to take long. Imagine earning $3,000 a month in passive income. This does require some effort upfront. You need to put in time, money, or both to get started. But once it's set up, it can earn you money without much ongoing work.
My friend Rick sets up a new business like this every week or two. Some of them he hangs on to, and others he sells after they’ve proven themselves to be moneymakers.
Here’s His System
Instead of spending months blogging or waiting for organic traffic, Rick uses paid methods to start earning right away. His strategy involves affiliate marketing combined with Google Ads.
People use Google to search for products they want to buy, right? By targeting these searches with ads, Rick reaches these potential buyers directly. Unlike social media ads, Google Ads target people with the intent to purchase, making them more effective as well as giving faster results. Why Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing means promoting other companies' products. You earn a commission for each sale made through your referral link. This way, you don't have to create your own product, just promote something that already sells well.
Rick likes affiliate marketing because he doesn’t want to bother with product creation, customer service and everything that goes with it. Frankly, he’d rather spend the bulk of his time partying than creating products, but don’t tell him I told you that.
Here’s Rick Recommends You Start
1. Choose Your Niche and Product
• Pick a niche you're interested in. Rick focuses on 3 subniches of one major niche. He knows these niches inside and out and has learned through trial and effort what works best in these niches.
• Find a product in that niche that has a good affiliate program. Rick looks for high conversions, good commissions and low refund rates.
2. Create a Landing Page
• Google Ads requires a landing page, not a direct link to the affiliate product.
• Rick uses a WordPress blog and the Elementor plugin to create a simple article-style landing page.
• Write an article like "3 Best Email Marketing Softwares" that reviews and recommends products.
3. Set Up Google Ads
• Create a Google Ads account and set up a search campaign.
• Use exact match keywords to target specific searches, like [best email marketing software].
• Use the Google Keyword Planner to find relevant keywords and see how much they cost per click.
4. Run Your Ad Campaign
• Start with a budget of $5 a day.
• Monitor the performance of your ads and adjust as needed.
Building Your Landing Page
Your landing page should provide valuable information. For example, if you're promoting email marketing software, write a review comparing the top three options. Explain why each one is good and include your affiliate links.
Creating Your Google Ad
Make sure your ad is clear and targets the exact keywords people are searching for. For example, if you're promoting email marketing software, use keywords like [best email marketing software]. This ensures your ad shows up when someone searches for that specific term.
Monitoring and Adjusting
Once your ad is running, keep an eye on how it's performing. Use the data to make adjustments. If one keyword isn't performing well, try another. The goal is to find the combination that brings in the most sales.
Conclusion
By following these steps, you can start earning passive income quickly. With Google Ads and affiliate marketing, you can reach people ready to buy and earn commissions from their purchases. This strategy is simple, effective, and can be scaled up as you learn and grow.
Recap:
1. Choose a niche and product.
2. Create a landing page with valuable content.
3. Set up and run Google Ads targeting specific keywords.
4. Monitor and adjust your campaign for the best results.
With this approach, you can build a sustainable income stream and start earning money within 24 hours.
One last thing… Rick doesn’t build email lists. I think he’s crazy not to because he’s leaving good money on the table. He could build those lists and continue to send them offers over time to increase his income. I’ve taken him to task about this, and he admits he should be doing it but he says he’s just been too lazy.
Do yourself a favor and capture the email addresses. If you do a good job of nurturing your email lists, you can double or triple your income by sending them relevant offers.
