I know that Xcode is confusing and is only for macs. I want to create an app as easy as possible. I don't want to put it in the actual AppStore, but I just want it on my iPod touch.- Jenny. Generally speaking you are going to require the use of a MacBook or iMac to create your App. You’ll need to learn Objective C, or use one of the App creation services like AppMakr.com. -Ed.

What is the best way to design a website so that someone with no html skills can update and edit it? I usually use Dreamweaver for web design, but it needs to be more simple than that. A client wants to be able to make small changes and add info to the site himself in the future. Any suggestions for software or an online service that would give me design freedom and control, yet be easy for him to edit? It would be best if it is cheap or free and it has to be able to run on a mac and a pc. Thanks in advance!. - Ken. For this type of setup, you really can’t go past Wordpress. You setup wordpress, do the initial design for your client and then give them the information to access the backend, and show them how to create pages and posts.. -Ed.

mwm news 1.5 Billion People Will Watch Video Online by 2016 Roughly 1.5 billion people will watch at least one online video by 2016, according to a recently released study by online video technology provider Ooyala. Ooyala says that viewership of branded videos grew 91 percent over the course of Q4 2012. According to the study, streaming video on smartphones and tablets grew exponentially in 2012. While watching live video on the desktop has surpassed video-on-demand viewership, Ooyala believes the study illustrates the importance of streaming video for marketers. "Streaming video has crossed an inflection point and it's now a necessary channel for both consumers, as well as broadcasters, brands and media companies around the world," said Jay Fulcher, CEO of Ooyala. "The data we provide in this report, and direct to our customers, is critical to understanding how consumers are engaging with video online. These insights help our customers deliver more engaging, personalized video experiences, and as a result, make more money from online video." The study found that branded video viewership surged during last year's holiday season. It was discovered that streaming video on tablets also peaked during the holiday season. Tablet video viewership grew 73 percent on Christmas Day specifically, according to the study. Overall, live video views grew on streaming devices over the course of 2012. Users were reported to watch live video 18 times longer on a desktop than video-on-demand. For tablets, the number was five times longer when comparing live video streaming to video-on-demand. Ooyala projects that video viewing on smartphones will grow 10 times over within the next five years. Last year alone mobile saw its share of online video views jump 87 percent. The study also found that iPhone users watched over twice as much video on their phone as Android users. Last year, iOS users grabbed 67 percent of the mobile video view market.

Mobile World Congress: Network Operators and Vendors Rethink Roles as Traffic Explodes Wireless carriers have certainly grown accustomed to their perch from above, controlling so much of the industry and their relationships with customers. Only recently have they begun singing a different tune, as was evident here at Mobile World Congress this week. The astronomical growth rates of mobile broadband might appear to present a great future ahead for carriers, but with data usage exploding and traditional telecommunications services being disrupted by nimble startups with no legacy costs, more growth in mobile will mean more problems and tighter margins for many network operators. Mobile broadband is projected to grow from 1.6 billion connections in 2012 to 5.1 billion connections in 2017, representing a compound annual growth rate of 26 percent, says GSMA chief marketing officer, Michael O'Hara, citing the organization's latest data. "Networks are vital resources for the future," says Rene Obermann, chairman and chief executive of Deutsche Telekom, but as traffic across the carrier's networks increases 70 percent year-over-year, he adds that carriers also need to do more with less. Managing all that traffic will be a growing challenge, but Obermann says he is equally troubled by what he calls the "over-the-top paradigm." Apps like Skype and WhatsApp are cutting away at the revenue carriers have enjoyed for many years from services like text messaging. "I'm not moaning, I'm just describing the reality and we need to deal with it... It means you invest, we take the profit, from there side," he says. "As a result, you see the stock market responding to all the telcos." "It's not sustainable that networks make all the investments," adds Obermann. "The good news -- we are changing, we are becoming more efficient, we understand how to innovate, at least better than in the past." "Telcos have to be smarter than they are today... They have to embrace innovation," he continues. "We have to view ourselves as enablers" and make cooperation part of carriers' DNA." Hans Vestberg, chief executive of the infrastructure giant Ericsson, carried Obermann's theme into his follow-up keynote as well. By 2018, 92 percent of the earth's population will have access to mobile broadband, he says. "The pace of change we're seeing so far in our industry is the slowest so far -- it's only going to increase from here," adds Vestberg. "It's going to transform us, you and me using the network, it's going to change businesses and it's going to change our society." Although Ericsson is one of the direct beneficiaries of carriers' massive capital investments in network buildouts and technology upgrades, Vestberg says infrastructure vendors also need to innovate to create more value and efficiencies for their carrier partners. While carriers have long bemoaned the notion of being nothing more than "dumb pipes," they desperately need to rethink their future roles to avoid such widespread MWM 10 commoditization. The ideas are finally bubbling to the surface, but as Obermann says, "it does require a big cultural shift in traditional telecommunications companies."

INTERNET MARKETING‌ By Sable Escarrà What is Internet Marketing? Internet Marketing or online marketing refers to the mode of business promotions done through the medium of web also known as e-commerce. Internet Marketing is the preferred mode for many business promotions especially because of its varied benefits. Unlike before where any kind of business promotions or developments was done with the use of print media such as Newspapers, Magazines, Advertisements over the Radio or the Television, this mode was not just expensive but also time consuming. Every update or development needed a new advert to promote it and reach out to the prospective customers and investors. But with the changing times Internet Marketing has turned out to be the most popular and affordable mode for business promotions.
Any kind of business hugely depends on advertising and customer feedback. These two aspects play a vital role in the profits and the development of the business.
Internet Marketing can also be used in case of new business launches as well to know the demand and supply ratio circulating through the market. With a specialized option as website promotions one can avail the luxury as same as to that of owning a store and promoting your product. All of this possible with the convenience of just a mere click over the web, and you are instantly updated about where you and your business stand in terms of popularity and demand for your product in the market. This is an instant way of also knowing the consumer feedback as well as the complaints, instead of having to wait for hours or maybe days to weeks in case of a print media promotion. Any kind of business hugely depends on advertising and customer feedback. These two aspects play a vital role in the profits and the development of the business. Hence with Internet Marketing these two aspects have been completely taken care of. Internet Marketing mode is the easiest way to know what the exact feedback is and what kind of improvements are required to enhance the level of profits.

Interview with B2B Marketing Expert Michael Brenner By Nick Stamoulis
Recently I had the chance to interview B2B marketing expert Michael Brenner. Michael is the author of B2B Marketing Insider, co-founder of the social news site Business 2 Community (both of which are great sites for B2B business owners and marketers looking to stay on top of their game) and currently serves as Senior Director of Global Marketing for SAP. Michael been working in leadership, marketing and sales roles for nearly 20 years serving a diverse group of industries, so I think it’s safe to say that he’s seen just about all there is to see when it comes to B2B marketing. B2B marketing has undergone a lot of changes in the last few years and Michael has done a tremendous job of staying at the forefront and being an industry leader.
“The biggest challenge is in figuring out a way to integrate your efforts across a diverse portfolio of products, people, countries and roles.” Did you know:
Who coined the phrase 'The Web might be better than sex'? Bob Metcalfe in 1995.
mwm ask the expert This interview is rather long, but is worth the time to read through all of it! Thanks so much to Michael Brenner for spending the time to answer all of my questions! Question: B2B Marketing Insider has only been active for a few years but in that time you’ve built up a powerful online brand, a loyal audience and a pretty impressive social presence—how did you accomplish so much in such a relatively short amount of time? Answer from Michael Brenner: I know it sounds a little cliché but it has come mainly from a lot of trial and error and by simply committing myself to spending about an hour a day. When I started blogging, I had no idea what I was doing and I had only been active on Twitter for less than a year. But once I started blogging I immediately saw the power of combining great content with social reach. So I committed to 2 blog posts a week and to using Twitter every day to share great content, and to connect and engage with new people. I have made similar commitments to facebook, Linkedin, Google + and a few other sites like Slideshare, StumbleUpon and Pinterest that seem to drive effective engagement for me. But I test new approaches every day to see what works on each platform Question: Did you ever expect Business 2 Community to grow as large (4,000+ contributors) as it has? When and how did it shift from a personal blog to a massive online marketing community? Answer from Michael Brenner: Many people might not know the full story but Business 2 Community started as Brian Rice’s personal blog (B2C Marketing Insider) at the same time I started B2B Marketing Insider. After a few months, Brian outsourced the content contribution to colleagues and social connections. Then he was able to gain inclusion as a news source for Google News. That’s when the site really took off. We agreed to combine forces – Brian, myself and our technical Dan Criel, to re-brand as Business 2 Community. We’ve seen rapid and steady growth ever since. We basically try to offer our contributors the largest possible platform we can to reach an audience they would struggle to reach on their own. The model seems to be working pretty well. Question: As the editor-in-chief of SAP’s “innovation” blog how do you keep fresh content rolling out on a consistent basis? Answer from Michael Brenner: We use what I call the “author curation” model. We find the most distinguished and trusted authors that we can in each of our topical areas and we ask them to contribute to the site. It’s a win-win because we get the content we need to deliver value on how to innovate inside your company. And the authors gain access to our audience. Right now we have about 50% of our content coming from internal bloggers and the other half from external thought leaders. We realize that we don’t know everything at SAP but we certainly want to help bring the latest and greatest insights, content and information around business innovation to our readers.
MWM 17
Question: What advice do you have for smaller B2B brands that have a hard time keeping their content marketing efforts consistent? Answer from Michael Brenner: My advice is to stop thinking that getting a steady flow if content is too hard or too expensive. The first step needs to come from support at the executive level and then recruitment of internal thought leaders. Every employee inside your company has knowledge, experience and a story to tell. A single person could “interview” those employees, even through simple email questions, to create the kind of content that answers key customer questions. That’s what it all comes down to: finding the most effective way to answer your customers’ questions. And the answers are sitting in the cube next to you or down the hall. Question: A company as large SAP must have an immense amount of red tape and dozens of chains of command you have to get onboard in order to push through new initiatives—how can a B2B marketing manager in a similar situation push through the red tape in their own organization and make things happen? Answer from Michael Brenner: I’m gonna borrow a line from Steve Jobs: “JFDI” which stands for Just F-ing Do It! And I think this is the approach you have to take when you know you are doing something that will help your company achieve its business objectives, will help your employees to grow their personal brands and will help your customers gain value from your organization. So it takes courage but you also have to put together all the business justifications that support those 3 constituencies above. I honestly think the most under-estimated skill of corporate professionals is the ability to sell your ideas and to influence your peers and those in positions above you.
My advice is to stop thinking that getting a steady flow if content is too hard or too expensive. The first step needs to come from support at the executive level and then recruitment of internal thought leaders. Question: A lot of smaller businesses feel like a bigger budget would solve all their online marketing woes but that’s not always the case. What are some of the unique SEO and content marketing challenges facing a large enterprise with a big budget like SAP? Answer from Michael Brenner: The biggest challenge is in figuring out a way to integrate your efforts across a diverse portfolio of products, people, countries and roles. For example, one of the biggest differences between average and best-inclass content marketers is in the creation of content for each buying stage. So every big company should audit their content resources to see where they fall. Chances are, if you are like most big companies, you will find that you produce too much late stage conversion content (product and feature details) and not enough early-stage trust-building and engagement-based content. That’s why social media is so important. Social communities will tell you which content is effective and valuable based on how much it gets shared.
MWM 18 Question: Why is it important for a business to create content for every stage of the buyer’s journey through their sales cycle? Answer from Michael Brenner: Ha. See I wrote my last answer before even seeing this question. I should have scanned ahead! The reason is that not every buyer is ready to marry you the first time they “meet” you. Buyers, have to go through a process of learning, absorbing, sharing and deciding. This is compounded by the fact that there are many people playing a part in the decision process. So effective content marketing will map to the number of people and their questions in the early, middle and late-stages of the buying process. There are many more people looking to understand “Big Data” for example, than are looking to buy it tomorrow. So your content production should map to the volume and types of questions your customers are asking. If you don’t they will get their information from other sources – like your competition. And that puts them in a better position to win the business later on down the line. Question: The Google Panda update definitely had an impact on how many sites go about their content marketing campaigns. Do you think the update has made things easier or harder for content marketers? Answer from Michael Brenner: I honestly do not think Panda hurt effective content marketers. It really only hurt those who played too many SEO games with their content. If you create effective content that your customers are looking for, and they share it with others, you will gain authority on that topic and you will rank eventually for those terms. Question: What do you think Google has in store for 2013 with regards to content? Answer from Michael Brenner: I think it will be more of the same – gradual improvements in their algorithm to weed out the tricks. I do think author rank will continue to play a larger role in SEO and this puts a lot of pressure on corporate websites that don’t have a blog or that don’t publish under author names. Question: Many B2B businesses suffer because their online marketing efforts are siloed. How can they tear down these silos to ensure that SEO, social media, content marketing, and digital marketing are all working together towards the same goal? Answer from Michael Brenner: I think it takes leadership to stop thinking of online marketing as a channel and to think of it as “integrated marketing communications.” We should not be putting our websites at the center of our ecosystem of digital channels. We need to put the customer at the center. It flips the paradigm for many so-called online marketers who think of themselves as owners of a channel. They define their channel objectives and the silo’d behavior continues. It takes some courage from marketing leadership to lay out the vision and to lay the framework for a cultural shift to customer-first or audience-centric thinking and objectives. This is not easy and many organizations and their CMOs are struggling with this still.
EVERY business has customers that are on every major social channel. Now it is fine to say that your resources are stretched and you need to focus on the sites where you can reach the largest number of your customers for the lowest cost.
Question: Your blog is dedicated to B2B, yet you have Pinterest on your site. Isn’t Pinterest really a B2C social network? How can a B2B company make Pinterest work for them? Answer from Michael Brenner: Ahh! You did not just ask me that? At least you didn’t ask me if Pinterest is just for women! OK, fine: Most people I know work at companies. The line between who we are at home and at work has blurred greatly. Business people use Pinterest, and Facebook, and Instagram. I think these channels represent the shift we are seeing to a much more visually-driven marketing ecosystem. I have found tremendous engagement on Pinterest. One of my best posts ever was “8 Great Infographics” which was mostly curated from Pinterest. Question: “But our customers aren’t on [insert social network here]!” What do you have to say to those businesses? Answer from Michael Brenner: I think this is complete crap and a total cop out. EVERY business has customers that are on every major social channel. Now it is fine to say that your resources are stretched and you need to focus on the sites where you can reach the largest number of your customers for the lowest cost. That’s just basic prioritization. But to ignore a social site because you aren’t on it, or your CEO isn’t on it is simple naïve. Question: How can someone’s personal online brand and social presence (such as the CEO) impact their company’s long term success? Answer from Michael Brenner: I have been writing a lot lately about what I call the Social Business Imperative that I believe every company is facing today. What I mean by this is that the companies that survive and win in today’s competitive digital-social-mobile world are the ones who put the needs of their employees and customers at the same level as those of the business. This is where content marketing, social media strategy, personal branding and social selling (and support) all move out of marketing and come together with a singular purpose of creating the most value for everyone. It’s what happens when you accept that your employees and customers are better at creating effective content and distributing it through their social networks than the master brand is. And it requires tremendous transparency, that many leaders just aren’t prepared for. So I believe you will continue to see the rise of social CEOs all the way down to social sales people and social support desks.

Registry cleaners are a necessary tool for all PC users, and finding a RegCleaner download can get users the program they need to keep their registry in good shape. RegCleaner is easy to use, effective, and one of the best registry cleaning programs available.
The registry is a vital component of all Windows PCs, since it is the way that a PC is able to chronicle all of the changes made to it. This includes any changes, reconfigurations, software installations, and software removal. By its very nature, it’s integral to how a PC works. Unfortunately, because few users end up never adding or deleting anything from their PC, this means that the registry can eventually become a minefield of outdated information, inaccuracies, and errors. JOSEPH ZUCCARO DISCUSSES WHAT YOU NEED TO ACE YOUR MARKETING AUTOMATION IMPLEMENTATION By Dayna Rothman
For our recent Definitive Guide to Marketing Automation launch, I interviewed several marketing automation experts to get their input on key questions such as how to be successful with marketing automation and how to sell the technology to internal stakeholders. I had so many awesome answers from thought leaders, that I wanted to create a blog series that showcased their advice and opinions.
“When you automate your marketing, you are able to understand short instances of behavior over time, thus getting a better understanding of how to interact with an individual and perhaps predict future behavior and actions. -Stephen Colbert
First up, Joseph Zuccaro Founder and President of Allinio LLC, a marketing automation professional services firm. Joe has over 25 years of experience in marketing and sales, and is a fantastic expert resource for everything marketing automation. 1) What are the most important things you have to keep in mind in order to be successful with marketing automation? Before you even touch a platform, make sure that Marketing and Sales agree upon the processes necessary to get a raw lead down the sales funnel. Understand that it is a time consuming task to transform into a network-centric, aligned organization. Skill sets must be developed that are more leftbrained than right-brained. Do not assume that the platform only is the solution – it is a tool and takes teamwork to manage. There are a lot of “moving parts” to launching a campaign, from knowing your buying personas, to the value propositions you need to communicate to them, to the content strategy you will employ, to the scoring model you will utilize, and many other factors. 2) What are some benefits of marketing automation that you would point out to someone who is considering switching from their Email Service Provider (ESP)? I help clients understand the move from and ESP platform to an MA platform with an analogy – still photographs versus video. ESPs are like still photographs – you can get great stats from using one, but each campaign is effectively a snapshot in time. Marketing automation platforms are like videos – you can see the behavior of people in multiple campaigns over time, taking all the snapshots and connecting them together to make a “flip movie” or video out of them. When you automate your marketing, you are able to understand short instances of behavior over time, thus getting a better understanding of how to interact with an individual and perhaps predict future behavior and actions. Obviously this allows you to better allocate a salesperson’s time when it comes to giving them the green light to engage with a customer.
For CEOs, they must understand that data is now a strategic asset of their firm and the window into their pipeline needs to be more accurate. In the future, acquiring firms will be doing more due diligence regarding revenue pipelines and the ability to show such pipelines with accuracy will affect valuations.
3) What are the most important things to look for in a marketing automation vendor? Ease of use and support. At this point in time, people who know how to use marketing automation platforms are scarce and hard to replace, so ease of use is paramount. As marketers come and go, how are you going to steward the processes and data you need to operate? How reputable is a vendors“onboarding” process to get you to regularly using their platform? How extensive is their ecosystem of consultants and partners that bring more to the table to help you succeed? And of course, how well does the platform integrates into your existing CRM? While many use Salesforce, there are other flavors out there that require forethought before you try to plug them in. Make sure you know how your data is going to flow from platform to platform. 4) What should you focus on when selling marketing automation your executive team? What are some things that might resonate with a CEO, CFO, or sales? Any executive team should understand that this is the same as other “IT implementations.” It can fail like any other implementation they have tried in the past, so there needs to be executive buy-in, mid-level management design of processes, and proper end-user training. For CEOs, they must understand that data is now a strategic asset of their firm and the window into their pipeline needs to be more accurate. In the future, acquiring firms will be doing more due diligence regarding revenue pipelines and the ability to show such pipelines with accuracy will affect valuations. For CFOs, compliance with financial reporting, including Sarbanes-Oxley, will depend more on the integrity of the sales funnel, along with the processes that support it and the underlying data infrastructure. For Sales, it is convincing them that the quality of leads will be better in the long run and the quantity will be decreased. This will mean less time wasted by expensive salespeople “barking up the wrong tree.”

Michael And Nicky Bronner Of Unreal Candy: Halloween Treat Fight Leads To Big Business By Janean Chun
When 12-year-old Nicky Bronner awoke the day after Halloween 2009 to find his parents had confiscated the previous night's booty, he lost it. His father, Michael, explained the candy wasn't good for him, and Nicky set out to prove him wrong. Instead, he was horrified to learn the ingredients in his favorite treats. Why not create an all-natural candy that also tastes good?
“There's an epidemic of obesity and diabetes, and nearly half of our calories come from onthe-go junk food, snacks and beverages. We want this to be this generation's food company.
MWM 44 After calling about 15 chefs, Nicky found one who shared he and his father's vision -- Adam Melonas -- and the three started Boston-based Unreal in July 2012. They immediately went big: Unreal Candy is already on the shelves of 20,000 stores, including Staples and CVS, will soon be sold in Target and 7-Eleven. It scored major celebrity endorsements, via a promotional video featuring their personal friends Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, as well as Matt Damon and John Legend. In the video, Jack Dorsey, founder of Square and co-founder of Twitter, gives his thumbs up to the concept, saying, "Completely rethinking something we take for granted -- those are the innovations I love seeing." Three years after one kid's Halloween outburst, Unreal Candy has attracted millions from investors and is taking on a massive goal: to rid the world of junk food, expanding into a line of snacks and beverages by 2014. HuffPost Small Business caught up with Nicky, now 15, and his father to find out how a kid, a chef and dad/entrepreneur with no food business experience plan to disrupt the food industry.
The only reason I was supporting this was because I saw this as a potential catalyst for change. Rather than preaching that junk food doesn't have to be full of junk, this could prove it with the most insane of all the junk foods, which is candy.
What was the feeling of waking up and finding your candy was gone? Nicky: They had been taking my candy for about nine years, so it was like built-up rage unleashed in a bottle of fury. My favorite candy was a peanut butter cup, and I thought it can't be that bad for you. I knew on some level it wasn't just peanut butter and chocolate, but on another level, I never knew it was that bad. I had to walk back into the house with a look of shame on my face and tell my dad he was right this one time. Michael: When he went online, what he found quite easily is that there was tons more sugar than he imagined, hydrogenated oil, corn syrup, artificial colors and flavors, chemicals and preservatives. Nicky is a "why" kid. He asked the question "why" about everything, and he kept trying to understand what's so bad about these ingredients. So the founding question of the company is "why?" Specifically, he asked, "why is it that all foods that I love the most have to be so bad for us?"
At what point did it the "whys" turn into an actual business? Michael: Nicky's biggest concern was that the candy had to taste good, and we went through over 1,000 revisions on the five recipes and engaged well over 1,000 people in tasting this, along with Nicky and his friends, and felt Adam cracked this after six months. The only reason I was supporting this was because I saw this as a potential catalyst for change. Rather than preaching that junk food doesn't have to be full of junk, this could prove it with the most insane of all the junk foods, which is candy. Nicky: My dad would bring home health food from natural food stores on a daily basis, and if didn't taste that bad, we'd look at back of the package, and there'd be so much sugar, it was kind of a lose-lose deal. I never doubted it would be a business, but when I tasted Adam's candy, I knew it was coming soon.
MWM 45 How much capital did it take to start a major food company? Michael: Our mentality was if we’re going to fulfill this crazy, grand mission to unjunk the world, we knew we had to do this right. We couldn't go into a small set of health food stores. We want to shift popular belief, which means going right to the mass market. It cost tens of millions to start. This is not a low-cost, low-capital business.
Nicky, you were motivated when you read that your generation is the first generation that's not going to live as long as your parents? Nicky: You bet. I actually wanted to prove that wrong. I'm going to do my best to change the world. Michael: There's an epidemic of obesity and diabetes, and nearly half of our calories come from on-the-go junk food, snacks and beverages. We want this to be this generation's food company. Nicky, this business started from a fight with your parents, so it all ended well. Do you still fight with your parents? Nicky: Constantly. We're always at it, but it always ends well.
Are you trying to win a David vs. Goliath fight against these huge candy companies? Michael: We're 20 people taking on established, entrenched companies with tens of thousands of workers. But we come in peace -- we're not coming in war. We're not trying to take them down -- that's a crazy thought. But if we can prove that unjunking candy can happen and that people actually want it, retailers are going to push it, then these big companies will evolve over time. That's our hope.
Our mentality was if we’re going to fulfill this crazy, grand mission to unjunk the world, we knew we had to do this right.
