may be the perfect place for you. Macclenny stands as the county seat of Baker County and was established in 1890. The original trade of the area was timber, with sawmills built along rivers and waterways. This was the perfect way for lumber to be transported. Now the town has a population of about 6,700 residents and is located a quick 35 miles from Jacksonville and six miles from the Georgia border. This city provides residents with subdivisions that offer single-family homes, apartment complexes and townhomes.

Has a quaint country atmosphere with all the conveniences of being close to the big city. In the last year, Baker County has grown by 2.93 percent, which could partially be because downtown Jacksonville is a quick 20-minute drive, giving residents the ability to easily commute into the city. Osceola National Forest falls within the county’s boundaries and is a true Florida gem. The area has been preserved by the beauty of old Florida full of woodlands and swamps that give both residents and visitors opportunities for camping, hiking and more–truly getting to experience the beauty that the area holds.
