PARTYING HARD FOR THE CHILDREN

Single Carrot Theatre has been

gathering its supporters for a blowout bash every spring since 2008. This year’s annual gala is the first in our brand new, long-term home at 26th and Howard Streets. SCT’s annual gala plays a leading role in sustaining our education and outreach operations: funds raised through gala ticket sales and auctions allow Single Carrot to offer scholarships to High School Conservatory students; teach free afterschool literacy programs; and bring actors and artists into classrooms across the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland. THANK YOU for joining us on this special occasion in support of a worthy cause.

EDUCATION & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS AT

SINGLE CARROT

At SCT, we think the arts should be a right, not a privilege. Single Carrot Theatre’s work onstage and in the community grows from the conviction that participatory cultural experiences facilitate learning, and artistic expression is civic engagement. Nearly 15,000 young people have participated in Single Carrot Theatre education programs. Offerings range from free afterschool literacy enrichment classes to student matinees, in-class visits with actors and artists, and a touring assembly program. Our High School Conservatory program, a mainstay of SCT’s education outfit, will enter its sixth year this summer. We serve adults, too! SCT offers low-cost courses for community members of all experience levels over the age of 16. Upcoming offerings include Clowning (June 14) and Creating a Solo Performance (beginning June 15). In addition to onsite community classes, SCT offers teambuilding workshops for employees seeking better ways to work together, bond and communicate. We hope you’ll join us on May 13 at 4 PM for a Carrot Community Conversation about the social & educational programmatic needs within the Greater Remington and Charles Village communities. More information about Single Carrot Theatre’s education and community programs is available online at
