COASTAL Team Hopes Debut Is A Success

Team Coastal will be a new entry in the HNIB Showcase this summer, and should be competitive right from the outset.

Coastal will be coached by the hard-working Jack O’Brien, the head coach at Hebron Academy in the prep school ranks.

Post-grad Jake Mastrangelo, bound for Hebron for an extra year after a solid career at Marshfield (MA) HS, projects to be an offensive leader for the team, along with fellow post-grad from the Mass. HS ranks James Tatro, who starred at Triton Regional.

A trio of juniors, all coming from Quebec, in Spyridon Hamzeh, Anthony Lombardo and Patrick Cousin all are ready to showcase their talents, both here and for Hebron this coming season.

Roseland NJ native Nick Trabb skated with the Maine Nordiques organization last season and will be a key to the Coastal attack as well.

A pair of Mass. high schoolers looking to be a key part of the offense are Masconomet Regional’s Richard Guarino, and senior Joe Melanson of St. John’s Prep.

Hebron senior Jack Madden hails from the state of Maine. Fellow Hebron senior Anthony Rosa is from Pelham Manor, NY.Another post-grad bound for the Lumberjacks is Maine native Devdan Young.

The Coastal defense will be experienced, led by the postgrad duo of Zach Montecalvo (Malden Catholic, MA) and Albert Lian (Darien, CT), who both will play for coach O’Brien at Hebron this winter.

Senior A.J. Harb heads north to Hebron after starring at Methuen MA HS. Junior Shaun Gouveia will be solid on the blue line; he is another Quebec native bound for the Lumberjacks.

Senior Zach Gold is a standout for his Glen Ridge HS team in New Jersey. Senior Jeff Melanson is ready for a big role this winter at Mass. HS power St. John’s Prep. In goal, senior Kevin Richardi is ready to challenge for key minutes between the pipes at Xaverian (MA). Post-grad Donovan Alfama will be in the nets this winter for the New Jersey Titans NA3HL club.
