ByGary Demopoulos - HNIB
Looking for some big things this week at HNIB is this intriguing Southern New England squad, one certaintly capable of doing some damage.
Returning to the bench will be veteran head coach Dave Spinale, who led his Xaverian club to the Catholic Conference crown this past winter.
Spinale welcomes back no less than five forwards who skated with the club last summer at HNIB, including a trio of his top Xaverian players in Max Lockwood, Braden O’Hara and Brock Casey, all seniors and solid performers and key components in the Hawks’ championship run.

Also back for SNE are senior Max DaSilva, a key cog in the powerful offensive lineup at Hanover HS, and senior Gavin Havens, who hails from the prep ranks at Williston Northampton.
Keep an eye on senior Aidan McDonnell, a top point producer for his BC High club this past year. Evan England is part of the deep offensive crew at Catholic Memorial.
Bringing his talents from the Plymouth North program is the exciting Evan Hallisey, who will be watched closely.
Hanover’s Robbie Hanna is a talented two-way forward looking to open some eyes. Kevin Parrish is ready to have a big year at Xaverian. Senior Eamon Kelly is an offensive leader for Mass D2 juggernaut Canton HS.
On the blue line, Southern New England will be backboned by the very experienced duo of Nolan Dion, coming off an All Scholastic campaign at Xaverian, and post-grad Shane Spinale, who heads to play for Phillips Andover in the prep ranks.
Walpole HS teammates Colin Birch, a senior, and Matt Bianculli, a junior, will bring it every shift.
Nauset Regional’s Payton Kender will certainly open some eyes, while Joe Verderber, a Walpole native bound for Portsmouth Abbey, will be a steadying influence on the the blue line.
In goal, Catholic Memorial senior Dom Walecka is highly-regarded and a Catholic Conference All Star. He is joined in the rotation by Hanover standout Liam Monahan.
