With three straight trips to the championship game, the Middlesex entry in the HNIB Showcase is on a solid run, a run that definitely could continue this year.

Overseeing the squad once again is John Messuri, the crafty head coach at Arlington HS who for sure will have his club ready.

Leading the club offensively will be Brendan Fennell, a talented three-sport star from Melrose who will take a PG year at prep power Avon Old Farms.

Also back and ready to contribute even more to the scoresheet are Reading’s senior duo of Jake Donovan and Michael Dufton.

Rising junior Drew Fecteau of Arlington will be an added plus. Yet another Spy Ponder product is junior standout Jake Russell.

Junior Max Tong was a key part of the success at Winchester this past season and also skated with Middlesex last summer. Junior Braeden Curran helped lead Central Catholic to a Merrimack Valley Conference title this past winter.

Junior Frankie DeTraglia will be looked on for a much bigger role this winter with Lincoln-Sudbury. The same holds true for junior Ben Morgan at Chelmsford HS. Another member of the deep forward group fromArlington is junior Ryan Gilbert.

Defensively, Middlesex will have veteran senior Brendan Flynn from Arlington and fellow senior Zach Micciche, a captain-to-be for the Rockets this winter.

Winchester is well-represented by the likes of senior Liam Doherty and junior Trevor Mahoney, both regulars on the blue line last season.

Another guy who excelled at Winchester last year was Alec O’Connor, a junior who brings this talents to TaborAcademy. Woburn HS had a banner season and junior rearguard Larry Parece contributed in a big way.
