The House has passed legislation to overturn President Barack Obama’s immigration actions. The measures were part of a $39.7 billion spending bill for the Department of Homeland Security. And as we search for common ground, we realize that our differences are smaller than we thought and our hearts are larger than we imagined.” Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson wants lawmakers to lower tax rates in an effort to compete in the “global marketplace.” The governor says that, in addition to lowering taxes, particularly on the middle-class, the state needed to improve job training in high schools and two-year colleges, offer computer science in every high school and eliminate unreasonable regulations on businesses. Governor Hutchison second speech to lawmakers is not far away. He plans to address his healthcare policy
before the house and senate on January 22. Former Governor Mike Huckabee was on hand Tuesday for Hutchinson’s inauguration. He received the loudest ovation of any of the former officials introduced to the crowd outside the state Capitol. Huckabee predicted Hutchinson would make a “terrific governor,” with creating new jobs his primary focus. Newly-inaugurated Governor and first lady Susan Hutchinson joined more than 1,800 guest for the Inaugural Ball at the State House Convention Center attending the inauguration celebration that it is as traditional at the oath of office. Padres de Jazmín piden misericordia para conductor de 88 años KATV Canal 7 Kirby, AR
Los padres de la niña de 12 años, Jazmín Hernández quien murió al ser atropellada por una camioneta SUV, pidieron que no encarcelen en ningún momento al conductor de edad avanzada del vehículo. De ochenta y ocho años, Dwight L. Moody de Delight se declaró culpable de un cargo menor de homicidio por negligencia en la Corte del Circuito del condado de Pike. El accidente se produjo en octubre cerca de Salem en la carretera 27 entre Kirby y Glenwood cuando Hernández bajaba del autobús escolar para volver a casa después de la escuela. Moody golpeó y mató a Hernández mientras conducía junto al autobús escolar detenido. El Fiscal del condado de
Pike, Bryan Chesshir dijo que el conductor del autobús siguió el protocolo necesario para dejar saber a los carros que tienen que detenerse para que los niños crucen la calle. Es prácticamente todos tienen que ser más responsables al volante. Si usted no está en condición de manejar, entonces no lo haga. Porque podemos causar dolor a las personas que no deberíamos”, dijo el padre de Jazmín. “Esto también dice que es una familia muy cristiana y cómo están muy bien

Jazmin’s parents request mercy for 88 year old driver KATV Channel 7 Kirby, AR The parents of a 12-yearold girl, Jazmin Hernandez who was struck and killed by a SUV requested to not serve any jail time for the elderly driver of the vehicle. Eightyeight-year-old Dwight L. Moody of Delight entered a guilty plea to a misdemeanor charge of negligent homicide in Pike County Circuit Court. The accident occurred in October near Salem on Highway 27 between Kirby and Glenwood as Hernandez was exiting a school bus to return home from school. Moody hit and killed Hernandez while driving past a
stopped school bus. Pike County Prosecuting Attorney Bryan Chesshir said the bus driver followed the required protocol to let cars know to stop for kids crossing the street. In court last week, Jazmin’s father, Miguel Hernandez, and mother Domi Rojo Lujo, asked that Moody not serve any jail time but instead pay a $2,500 fine and had to give up his driver’s license for life. “The family requested that no felonies be filed, the family requested there be no trial, the family requested that this man not spend a day in prison or jail,” Chesshir said. “I think they were also afraid that pending a felony jury
trial, he would possibly die from strain or stress.” Jazmin’s parents are still grieving their daughter’s death. “My days will never be the same. I am always going to miss her,” Rojo Lujo said. “Even though I would have wanted this man to stay in jail, this would have not brought back my daughter.” “We have understood it was an accident. And also considering the age of the man, who is very old, I do not want to see him or his family suffers in pain,” Miguel Hernandez said. “It is not just about the older. It is just about everyone needs to be more responsible behind the wheel. If you
are not in the condition of driving, then do not do it. Because we can cause pain to people that we shouldn’t,” Jazmin’s father said. “This also tells you this is a very Christian family and how family-oriented and religious they are, which would be hard for most of us,” Chesshir said. If Moody violates the agreement and is found to be driving, he will have to spend a year in the county jail. Moody had been charges of felony negligent homicide charges brought in his against, he would have faced a possible punishment of up to 20 years in jail and fines up to $15,000

Mexican consulates will be able to access data from regional governments. Some ru-
ral villages where documents are not digitally recorded may not be covered, but consulates should be able to issue birth certificates for nearly all birthplaces. To obtain a certified copy, Mexicans must go in person to a consular office, show an official identification to proof his or her identity, provide a Unique Population Registration Key, if available, complete an application and

Presidente Obama propone dar gratis dos años de Universidad Comunitaria ¡Hola! Arkansas Knoxville, TN
El plan de la “Promesa de Educación Superior en Estados Unidos” del presidente Barack Obama, daría dos años de matrícula gratuita en las universidades comunitarias o escuelas técnicas conocidas en el país como ‘Community College’. “Para todo aquel que esté dispuesto a trabajar por ello”, dijo Obama, quien describió el plan en Pellissippi State Community College en Knoxville, Tennessee. El presidente está presentando la propuesta para los estudiantes responsables, dejando que los estudiantes obtengan la primera mitad de un título de licenciatura y obtengan habilidades necesarias en la fuerza de trabajo sin costo alguno. Esta propuesta requerirá que cada uno haga su par-

Arkansas Knoxville, TN “America’s College Promise,” President Barack Obama’s plan, would give two tuition-free years of community or technical college. “For everybody who’s willing to work for it,” said Obama, who outlined the plan in Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The President is unveiling a proposal for responsible students, letting students earn the first half of a bachelor’s degree and earn skills needed in the workforce at no cost. This proposal will require everyone to do their part: community colleges must strengthen their programs and increase the number of students who graduate, states must invest more in
higher education and training, and students must take responsibility for their education, earn good grades, and stay on track to graduate. The program would be undertaken in partnership with states and is inspired by new programs in Tennessee and Chicago created by Governor Bill Haslam. This program which pays two years’ tuition for re-
cent high school graduates who attend state technical schools or community colleges. Under Obama’s proposal, federal funding would take care of 75 percent of the cost and states would cover the other 25 percent. The plan could save the average community college student $3,800 in tuition annually. In order to take advantage of the program, students

would have keep a minimum 2.5 GPA, be enrolled at least halftime and work to finish their programs. If all states participate, an estimated 9 million students could benefit. A full-time community college student could save an average of $3,800 in tuition per year. These days, Americans need more knowledge and skills to meet the demands
of a growing global economy and without having to take debt before they even embark on their career. The President proposed a new American Technical Training Fund to expand innovative high-quality technical training programs similar to Tennessee that meet employer needs and help prepare more Americans for better paying jobs.

La temporada de gripe H3N2 predominante ha sido asociada con más hospitalizaciones y muertes en personas mayores, y niños pequeños que en el pasado. elevated nationwide, and to advise clinicians that all hospitalized patients and all high-risk patients, either hospitalized or outpatient with suspected influenza should be treated as soon as possible with one of three available influenza antiviral medications. This should be done without waiting for confirmatory influenza testing. While antiviral drugs work best when given early, therapeutic benefit has been observed even when treatment is initiated later.

Ayudar a una madre que amamanta no significa que usted haya amamantado. Usted no necesita saber todas las respuestas para ayudarla. Sólo debe saber que la mamá y el bebé están aprendiendo algo nuevo. necesitan de su lado. La lactancia materna es natural. Eso no quiere decir que es fácil. Caminar es natural, también. Pero, los bebés deben aprender a caminar. Puede haber algunos baches en el camino. ¡Aprender a amamantar también puede estar lleno de sobresaltos! ¿Por qué debería apoyar a una madre que está amamantando? Una madre sabe que su leche es cómo la naturaleza eligió alimentar a los bebés. Ella sabe que puede haber menos enfermedades

She knows there may be less sickness now and later in life. She has read that breastfeeding may not be easy to learn. And, she may have heard that it hurts too. Even though breastfeeding should not hurt! Babies not fed breastmilk have more colds and stomach
problems. A baby’s brain and eyes may not develop as well. Weight problems happen more often later in life. Diabetes and heart disease are more likely too. Breastfeeding is good for the mom too. Moms who do not breastfeed are more likely to
get diabetes and breast cancer too. Maybe you did not breastfeed your children. That’s OK. No one told you just how important it was to breastfeed. In the past not a lot was known about breastfeeding. Until recently doctors told pregnant women that it did not matter how babies were fed. Now we know more about breastfeeding. How do you show a breastfeeding mom your support? Tell her you are proud of her. Tell her she is a great mom. Let her have time with her baby to learn to breastfeed. Watch the baby for her while she takes a shower or a

Arkansas Beverly Hills, CA En la 72a entrega anual de los Globos de Oro el pasado domingo por la noche mostró a los latinos en la televisión y las películas que ganaron premios en los Globos cómo el escritor/director mexicano Alejandro González Iñárritu, que ganó el mejor guión por “Birdman” y “Jane La Virgen” estrella Gina Rodríguez, que ganó con orgullo y humildemente su primer Premio Globo
de Oro a la mejor actriz en una serie de televisión, Musical o Comedia. Mientras que ambos discursos fueron memorables, uno especialmente encendió las lágrimas, con las emotivas palabras de Rodríguez agradeciendo a sus jefes, miembros del reparto, la cultura y lo más importante su familia arrancando nuestras fibras más sensibles. “Este premio es mucho más que yo. Arkansas Beverly Hills, CA At the72nd annual Golden Globe Awards last Sunday night showed Latinos in TV and films who scored awards at the Globes like Mexican writer/director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, won the Best Screenplay for “Birdman,” and “Jane The Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez, who proudly and humbly won her first-ever Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV series, Musical or Comedy. While both speeches were memorable, one especially turned on the waterworks, Rodriguez’s touching words thanking her bosses, cast members, culture and most importantly her family tore on our heartstrings. “This award is so much more than myself. It represents a culture that wants to see themselves as heroes,” said an emotional Rodriguez who had tears streaming down her face. “My father used to tell me to say every morning: ‘Today is going to be a great day. I can and I will.’ Well,

Inarritu also paid it forward, commending his three writing partners for their enthusiasm and comedic timing in the script. “Birdman” literally and figuratively wouldn’t have spread its wings without Keaton’s top-notch performance. Inarritu won one out of three nominations, but he lost Best Director to Richard Linklater and Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical to Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” Mexican-American comedic favorite Louis C.K., who is currently on tour for his stand-up comedy, was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for “Louie”.
