at this point I feel that I have been treated unfairly, and differently by the Little Rock Police Department.

Up until now, I had always had police work in the highest regard. I believe that police and detectives would investigate crimes before they proceed to arrest someone. I think this is also the general perception that the public has. But, I want it to be known that I feel this has not been the norm that was applied to my case.

He brought his daughters, Catherine, 4, and Caroline, 6, on stage at Liberty University during a walk-through for his speech in the video, when he will start his presidential campaign. Cruz has Princeton and Harvard degrees.

Cruz, himself a Baptist, who was elected in 2012,

gained fame by trying to block funding for President Obama’s health law in 2013.

His tactics resulted in a partial closure of the federal government, a turn of events that made “Cruz” a four-letter word to his party’s leadership but endeared him to many conservative activists hungry for politicians who would confront both parties.

Arkansas Houston, TX In a legally sound and blistering statement made public last week, a group of 104 legal scholars and immigration law instructors signed a statement calling the Texas judge’s decision that blocked President Barack Obama’s immigration executive action “deeply flawed.”

The group argued that the executive action programs that would have shielded millions from deportation and provided them permission to work “are well within the legal authority of the federal executive.” Their statement was issued a day after the Department of Justice asked the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals to free the programs, known as DACA and DAPA, that were temporarily blocked by U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen.

Some of the points made by the group are: There is strong legal authority for deferred action in general, and for DACA and DAPA particularly, as forms of deferred action, which is

recognized in law as a form of prosecutorial discretion.

The immigration system has more than 20 forms of prosecutorial discretion used by the Department of Homeland Security.

Hanen confused deferred action with work authorization. Deferred action has provided for work authorization in the past. Hanen’s misunderstanding of the difference between “law-

ful presence” and “lawful status” through programs like DACA and DAPA. All of these are serious technical errors, especially for a judge with Hanen’s lengthy experience in immigration law.

The statement, not part of the ongoing legal cases, is similar to two others that were signed by some of the same scholars and instructors as the president’s immigration executive actions have been debated.

“This program is designed to provide legal presence to over four million individuals who are currently in the country undocumented and would enable these individuals to obtain a variety of both state and federal benefits.”

However, there is something else Hanen did to compromise the legitimacy of his ruling. Contrary to his assertion that public opinions and perceptions of the country’s policies do not have a place in resolving a judicial matter, he let his own opinions and perceptions about the President’s policies cloud his judgement.

Escritura cursiva obligatoria en el plan de estudios de Arkansas THV Channel 11 Little Rock, AR Cuando se trata de comunicaciones escritas, antes de la llegada de los teléfonos inteligentes, los mensajes de texto y las computadoras, la letra cursiva era la forma de hacerlo. Por ejemplo, la escritura cursiva se remonta a la época de los romanos pero al igual que el latín, la escritura cursiva parece que está muriendo como forma de comunicación.

Con gente que prefiere teclear más que escribir, la letra cursiva ha ido cayendo en el olvido. Muchas escuelas incluso dejaron de enseñar a los niños el escribir en letra cursiva y las Normas de Common Core no incluyen el tema.

No ha sido diferente en

Arkansas, las escuelas la descartaron como parte de su plan de estudios.

la Legislatura, la enseñanza de escritura cursiva en las escuelas de Arkansas será obligatoria a partir del próximo año escolar.

La Ley 160 de 2015 requiere que se les enseñe a los estudiantes la escritura cursiva a finales del tercer grado. Betsy Henry maes-

Examples of cursive writing date back to the time of the Romans, but like Latin, cursive writing appeared to be a dying form of communication.

With people typing more rather than writing, cursive has been falling by the wayside. Many schools even stopped teaching children cursive writing, and the

Common Core Standards do not include the subject.

It is been no different in Arkansas as schools dropped it as part of their curriculum.

Thanks to state Republican Kim Hendren and the Legislature, teaching cursive writing in Arkansas schools will be mandatory beginning next school year.

Act 160 of 2015 requires that students be taught cursive writing by the end of third grade.

Betsy Henry a third-grade teacher at Amanda Gist Elementary in Cotter, who

has taught cursive writing for 25 years says she thinks it is a good idea and just because it is not included in Common Core, “doesn’t mean it’s not important.”

Hendren, a Republican from Gravette, said the inspiration to introduce the measure came from his granddaughter and wife.

He told his granddaughter is an eighth-grader in Gravette who takes part in many school activities.

However, her grandmother learned “she didn’t know how to sign her name in cursive.” He said that is

when they learned cursive was not being taught at Gravette because of Com-

mon Core. Other schools across Arkansas also dropped cursive after the

state adopted the Common Core Standards.

In February 19th, Governor Asa Hutchinson signed all needed to return cursive writing classes to Arkansas classrooms.

The state Senate gave final legislative approval to a bill requiring public schools to teach cursive to students of the third grade.

The measure passed on a 30-1 vote. Senator Bruce Maloch of Magnolia said he supports cursive classes but believes it’s a matter for the Education Department, not lawmakers.

This is the fifth in a series of 10 IRS tips called the Tax Time Guide. These tips are designed to help taxpayers navigate common tax issues as the April 15 deadline approaches.

Initial information will normally be available within 24 hours after the IRS receives the taxpayer’s e-filed

return or four weeks after the taxpayer mails a paper return to the IRS. The system updates only once every 24 hours, usually overnight, so there is no need to check more often.

“Where’s My Refund? Is the quickest and easiest way for taxpayers to get important information about their tax refund,” said IRS Commissioner John Koskinen. “Taxpayers need to remember that the Where’s My Refund system is updated every 24 hours, usually overnight, so there’s no need to check more than once a day.”

Taxpayers should have their Social Security number, filing status and exact refund amount when accessing Where’s My Refund?

So far this year, “Where’s My Refund?” has received more than 179 million hits on IRS.gov.
