up the month of April with the Granbury Wine Walk People were laughing, drinking wine, shopping and having fun. The weather was perfect. There were bands playing at several locations. It was a great time for everyone. I ended up the evening at Antonio’s Ristorante Italiano. I ordered the Shrimp and Mushrooms Profumo Bosco and my wife, Pam, ordered the Polloai Carciofi. Both plates were delicious. If you want friendly service, superb food, and a glass of wine then this is the place to go. Please see article in this issue. We have added Lodging to our magazine to make it easy for visitors to our area. We beliveve the longer people stay, the more money they spend; the more money they spend the more fun they have and we are all about fun.
Please check out our calendar for the rest of the music in May. Don’t forget to check our website calendar for the most current list of events. Our magazine is also available online so tell your friends. Joe Adams - Publisher

$25 to $40, so I saved a lot of money. I like to shop but I hate to spend money. I could wait a long time for a store to have a sale on what I want to buy. You can find almost new books at a used book store, and almost new clothes at a resale shop. How about that piece of furniture you always need to make a full set. There are endless bargains. We think of Glen Rose and Granbury as being tourist towns because of the rivers, lake and neat shops on the squares. We have another large attraction, and that is bargain shopping. People come from all over the state to visit, but while here take time to shop for bargains. Now, think about this. Where can you go and get a bed and breakfast or hotel, then go to a nice

If you keep your eyes open you can find a lot of free or almost free stuff. I know it is always fun to check the newspaper ads. I like to check the grocery ads and my wife likes to check the Bealls ads. Let’s not forget to check the internet ads. There’s no sales tax if you buy out of state. There are many ways to save money. One of the most fun ways is to shop at resale shops, antique stores and thrift shops. I hurt my foot a couple of years ago and I had to get some crutches. I found a pair at a resale shop. I paid $5.00 for the set and used them for a month. Then, I sold them back to the resale shop for $2.50. Total cost $2.50 for 30 days. Now the crutches are there for the next person that needs them. A new set of crutches costs

Theater The Foreigner is a two-act comedy by American playwright Larry Shue. The play has become a staple of professional and amateur theatre.[1] The Foreigner has earned two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production.[2] The Foreigner was first produced at the Milwaukee (Wisconsin) Repertory Theatre in January of 1983, and the boisterous laughter it created there made the play an enormous local success. Named by the American Theatre Critics Association as one of the best regional theatre plays for the 19831984 season,

hat does a shy Englishman in search of rest do when he visits a fishing lodge in Georgia? In Larry Shue’s hilarious farce, Charlie Baker, a proof reader by day and a boring husband by night, adopts the persona of a foreigner who doesn’t understand English. When others begin to speak freely around him, he not only becomes privy to secrets both dangerous and frivolous, he also discovers an adventurous extrovert within himself. Granbury Theatre Company is pleased to present the hilarious comedy, The Foreigner. Showing May 10th –June 1st in the old Granbury Live facility located at 110 North Crockett Street in Granbury, Texas.
Performances are 7:30p.m every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with 3:30p.m matinee performances every Saturday. Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors and students and $15 for Children 12 and under. Groups of 10 or more are $15. The production is directed by Andy Looney with Jaime Long as assistant director, production assistant is Gale Gilbert, Costumes by Stacey Greenawalt King and set design by Andrew Barrus. Charlie Baker is played by Robert G Shores, Ellard Simms by Adam Livingston, Betty Meekes by Donna Jones, Sgt. Froggy LeSueur by Andy R. Looney, Rev. in Manchester in 1982 and at the Aldwych Theatre in London in 1984, where it earned more money than any other American play on the West End. Two years after Shue’s death, in 1987, The Nerd was produced on Broadway, and eventually his more serious play, Wenceslas Square (1984), became popular as well. These plays are now staples of university, regional, and community theatres all over America. said. “We use the freshest Alfredo sauce and meat. Not everyone can come and cook at my restaurant because it’s different. Most restaurants serve frozen and pre-cooked food and hire people with no experience. People go there because of the name of the chain.” Antonio is excited to open a new restaurant in Stephenville in May. He’s very hands-on with the chefs he hires and knows a lot of his customers by name. He said he thinks it will be even more successful than the Granbury restaurant due to the location and traffic. He plans to also expand into the metroplex in Arlington and Fort Worth and Brownwood. Besides his cheerful disposition and charming personality, it’s easy to see how dining with Antonio would be the ultimate experience. He doesn’t cook to compete or worry about what other chefs do; he just focuses on his food. “Some customers say that when I cook, I cook with passion,” Antonio said. “They say, ‘what you’re doing is real.’” Antonio’s new location: 1044 West Washington, Stephenville, Texas 254-965-7400 Grand Opening: Friday, May 3rd
DINING
Meet Antonio Balderas, the owner of Antonio’s Italian restaurant in Granbury for the last two years. Originally from Mexico, he came to the U.S. in 1983 to pursue his passion for cooking. The only thing is, being from San Miguel, he never learned to cook Mexican food. “I had a hard time being a Mexican,” Antonio said. “I don’t know nothing about Mexican food. We don’t have chimichangas or fajitas there.” He knew he was destined to be a chef when he was 12 years old and realized that he was in the kitchen making food, which was typically a job for the women to do. He went to culinary school in Genoa, Italy and can’t get enough of Italian food. Now, he doesn’t get a chance to cook as much because he’s the owner, but he’s personally trained all of his staff to cook as well as he does. Antonio works at least 70 hours each week since he loves what he does and cares about the consistency of an excellent meal and place to dine. “I just want people to eat my food, and if they like it they’ll come back,” Antonio
