A.C. PERCH´S Tea was one of the most important products traded at the end of the 18th century and many merchants established and obtained their goods from docking ships at Christianshavn in Copenhagen. Among these merchants was Niels Brock Perch the founder of A.C. Perch´s Tea Shop. The idea was to sell the best teas from all over the world and today this is still their most important task. Seven generations of tea merchants have owned the family business and the historical tea shop has not changed much in 180 years. Today you can choose between 175 different kinds of tea in the shop and the Tearoom offers you the traditional afternoon tea with delicious scones, petit four cakes and small finger sandwiches. FAT GREEK Good traditions, authenticity and quality – that’s what The Fat Greek is all about. That’s also why their meats and mushrooms are prepared over a charcoal grill, in order to get the exact same flavor as 150 years ago, back when food as prepared over the fire. The marinades theyuse for our authentic Gyros with charcoal grilled chicken, Duroc pork or mushrooms, are made from the Greek Chef Dimitri’s grandfather’s recipes, that have been perfected through many years, after being passed down from generation to generation. If pork is not your thing, you can go with their grilled chicken thigh Gyros, which is halal and grilled separately. The authentic Gyros with grilled chicken is served on traditional Greek flatbread, with a homemade chili yoghurt spread, fresh lettuce, tomatoes and crispy fries. And if you really don’t dig meat, you can spoil yourself with a 100% vegan Gyros with grilled mushrooms, which also is prepared separately on the grill. The vegan Gyros is served on traditional flatbread with fresh tomatoes, onions, crunchy lettuce with a wonderful homemade grilled pepper spread and crispy fries. KRONBORG CASTLE Kronborg Castle dominates the town of Elsinore and overlooks the Sound, which is now the border between Denmark and Sweden. Kronborg was once a great medieval castle, a majestic Renaissance palace and a powerful fortress. On sunny days, the gilt of the spires and the glint of the sun sparkle in the calm waters of the Sound. On other days, when nature is on the rampage, the waves crash around the castle and send sea spray up to the cannons on the windswept flag bastion. Kronborg has a wondrous and colourful history. MOSEDE FORT What happens in a neutral state during a world war? During WW1, Denmark was caught between its powerful neighbor to the south, Germany, and its biggest trading partner, Great Britain. Balancing war trade, humanitarian efforts, diplomacy and military precautions, Denmark walked a tightrope between the two. To keep the balance, the state also had to bridge growing social divisions created by war trade and war costs. From this, the Danish welfare state model was born in.
