Key to College
November 22, 2014
Never too early! This was the first time I attended Key to College, and I absolutely regret not attending this event in my earlier years of Key Club. As a senior, I've learned about college through various presentations during my final year in high school; however, it would've helped me so much if I attended Key to College as a sophomore or even as a freshman. The UNLV CKI presented the attendees with various displays about the different aspects that should be considered before, while, and after applying to colleges. They gave me information about college that I never considered, and it was extremely helpful. It helped that the members presenting in this event were current college students because they're actually currently experiencing college life. Overall, I had a blast in this event, while getting the opportunity to spend time with Circle K members. They were a great group of mentors who gave me a ton of tips about
college. -Rionna Octaviano (President)

BJ’s Fundraising

Eat. Serve. Love Our club decided to hold a fundraiser for DCON the day before Thanksgiving break started, for members to get excited about the upcoming holiday while supporting our club. I personally had a great time spending the night with my friends after school because they all came there to support Key Club, even though most of them weren't official members. Various teachers, as well as our Kiwanis adviser, Mr. Pecoraro supported us as well. Fundraisers give the members the opportunity to spend time with friends while supporting their club, and I'm excited for the other fundraisers Liberty Key Club will participate in.

The Ultimate Christmas Torture I, along with a bunch of other key club members and our advisor, made our way to the white-chocolate graham crackers station. First, we poured the graham crackers out of their bags into Ziploc bags and crushed them! We used the rolling pin, our hands, and the table. Then, after they were in little pieces, we put the contents into a little white bowl. Another station coordinated with us with making white chocolate and pouring it into our crackers. A few people were assigned to stirring the bowl quickly to mix the white chocolate with the crackers and others were obligated to a freezer run. After it was frozen, they were cut into little blocks and put in festive boxes. It was definitely torturous to be hungry in a food-making station, but in the end it was worth all the time and effort. I’m glad I contributed into making someone’s holiday special this year!

Free Food and Certificates! The potluck we threw definitely attracted most of our members to make it to today’s meeting. The officers, as well as most of the members, had food to offer. We awarded our devoted members with certificates, cards, and pins. The Induction was finished in a couple minutes and everyone had the chance to socialize with each other. -Ian Medina (Bulletin Editor)
Member of the Month
November’s member of the month was Tina Lam. She is a freshman and an active Key Club member. She attends and participates enthusiastically in all Key Club official events. The officer board recognizes her hard work and she deserves to be spotlighted for November. Tina shows her improvement in the club by volunteering in individual events and attending all of the general meetings. She is eager to volunteer and gets involved whenever she can. -Kayla Narciso

The Christmas Dance
Right after our member Induction, we made our way to Green Valley High School for this month’s DCM. Our Lieutenant Governor had the generosity to buy people, who asked her through mail, little presents like Starbucks drinks and socks! Presidential reports came next and we listened attentively to the past events of the other clubs to get ideas for new service events. After, our LTG talked about DCON and the best part of the whole night might be the fact that somebody asked her to make up a dance to a Christmas song. The whole crowd burst of laughter as they performed their improvised dance moves. Afterwards, we had delicious slices of cake and socialized amongst ourselves.
