OCEAN Hawaiian

Hawaiian Ocean Pantone 17-4540 TCX connects an ideal combination of cerulean blue with a deep ocean blue, giving a joyful yet calm aura to any room. This bright, saturated blue adds a happy vibe to your home’s décor. Paint it on an accent wall or even a lacquer a paneled room in this stunning hue to bring the ocean with all its soothing benefits to your home. Layer in Hawaiian Ocean with contrasting tones of lighter blues in decorative pillows for a cheerful atmosphere. Gold and brass accents pair nicely with this color and offer an elevated look. If you’re feeling bold, use fuchsia or orange to create a colorful palette.

Follow our “Hawaiian Ocean" board on Pinterest for more inspiration on using this beautiful color in your home.

PRO TIP: Always sample the paint in your space before diving in and painting the entire room. Just because it looks fabulous in your friend’s home, doesn’t mean it will look equally as stunning in yours. There are many factors which influence how paint looks in a space.

ENHANCE YOUR SPACE WITH Lighting

Lighting is one of my favorite ways to enhance a space, and it is often overlooked. The right chandelier can take your room from good to great! A perfectly placed lamp can bring light to a dark corner or illuminate your nightstand just perfectly to finish your favorite book. Here are a few tips for you to consider while choosing lighting for your space:

1. SCALE MATTERS - A quick and easy calculation can help you choose the right size chandelier for your room. Simply add the length and width of the room, convert the total to inches, and you’ll get a great diameter to fill the space. Often, I lean on the side of something slightly larger to give the eye an anchor point.

2. FINISH - Lamps come in all kinds of fun colors, so pull a color from your favorite fabric in the room and find a lamp in the same color! Pop the room with the sparkle of crystal or add a splash of silver or gold for a glam moment.

3. PICTURE LIGHTS - Don’t be afraid to accent your favorite piece of artwork with a picture light! They come in all kinds of shapes, colors, and finishes. Draw attention to an area with a swing arm or add a subtle glow to a beautiful painting with a slim profile.

If you aren't sure where to start, come by the store, and we will help you find the perfect lighting for your space!

DESIGNER TIPS

PAINTING WITH Green Envy GREEN WITH

From dark and moody emerald to light and airy sage, there is a perfect shade of green paint* for any design. Green is the color of harmony, nature, and abundance and might just be the perfect pop of color for your home’s walls. According to the concept of color psychology, paint has a significant effect on our mood, and the color green is a great choice for walls, as it has a calming and soothing effect. A muted green can bring life into a room while still creating a sense of being grounded. We associate green with nature, healing, and tranquility, and I have found it an easy option to incorporate into my home.

What Colors Coordinate With Green Walls?

If you’re considering painting a room green, you might also be wondering what colors go with green walls. Finding complementary colors depends on which shade of green you have on your walls. Dark greens, like emerald and forest green, pair well with similarly rich colors like navy blue and cranberry. Mossy greens, such as TUPELO TREE have yellow undertones, so they look great with warmer colors like yellow, gold, salmon, and coral. Try accenting a lighter green like pistachio with creamy whites and airy blues.

Sophisticated Dark Green Wall Paint

If you’re going for a luxurious look, choose a dark green for the walls. A saturated emerald green can create a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance. Try it in a dining room or living room, paired with dark leather and black accents. DERBYSHIRE reminds me of a beautiful vintage emerald brooch, which is appropriate if you want your space to feel like a jewel box. A lacquer finish enhances the depth of the color and makes a small room feel larger, drawing you in.

Classic Olive Green

Olive and other mossy-toned greens have more of an earthy feel that conjure images of a tranquil meadow or a relaxing hike in the forest. This type of green wall paint like VERDANT is simultaneously exciting and calming. I love it in a room with light wood accents and other elements of nature.

Consider a Green Accent Wall

If you’re not quite ready to take the plunge on painting an entire room green, consider creating a focal point with just one green accent wall. I recommend GALLERY GREEN, as it has grey undertones and could be considered more of a neutral. It’s a great way to dip your toe in the green paint trend. Consider attaching a narrow wood trim to the wall before painting for textural interest.

22 IBB AT HOME

Calming Sage Green

Sage greens like TOPIARY TINT or BONSAI TINT are fresh and light but make more of a statement than white or gray. Nice silvery undertones allow pairing with both cool and warm accent colors. I love the versatility and calming power of sage green.

Get Moody with Blue Green

Can’t decide if you want green or blue walls? Combine the two and you get gorgeous, moody dark teal green wall paint with strong blue undertones. A couple of my favorite paint colors in this family are COUNTRY SQUIRE and POSEIDON.

These colors can be a welcome departure from more traditional navy blue.

What Rooms Should You Paint Green?

If you choose the right hue, almost any room can be painted green. For bedrooms, stick to lighter greens to ensure a relaxing atmosphere. Save darker greens for living rooms, dining rooms, or an office. For the kitchen, you can’t go wrong with muted green walls and white cabinets.

If your friends aren’t green with envy after seeing your fabulous newly painted walls, then maybe you haven’t added enough! GO GREEN!

*All shades of green discussed are pulled exclusively from Sherwin-Williams, as it an accessible paint brand that is easily found at any local hardware chain.

Create a CAPTIVATING CORRIDOR

If your home has a long hallway or corridor, don’t leave it bare or boring! This is a great opportunity to have some fun with flooring, paint or wall treatments, and lighting.

In designing the floorplan of a new build in Dallas Forest Hills, an additional entrance was needed where deliveries could be accepted into the Butler’s Pantry area of the home. I decided to create a corridor between the spaces that evolved into an influential element of the plan. This stunning hallway became that solution and the most impressive statement of the home’s character. Running across the front of the house, it incorporates dramatic groin vaults appointed with shadow casting star-shaped pendant lights. The black and white checkerboard honed limestone flooring invites you to move through the space and adds that touch of classic tradition and striking drama that we have

been missing for a while. Spanning the butler’s pantry and large formal dining room, it ends at the foyer. An added effect was the unexpected joy seeing it when entering through the front door.

With gorgeous landscaping on one side and beautiful living areas on the other, this corridor turned into a functional and stunning addition to the footprint of the house.

I initially met Dr. Thomas Grant at a dinner party back in 2016, and we became fast friends! Shortly thereafter, he also became my dentist and client. I’m often hesitant working with friends, but I was thrilled when tasked with bringing his new office vision to life. While medical spaces may not feel like a creative opportunity, his unconventional

ideas got me super excited about this project. By the end of our first sit down, I thought he had completely lost his mind, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled! His descriptions and inspiration photos were somewhere between a high-end pop art gallery and a Gucci boutique, and I’ll be darned if that’s not what we made happen!

27 IBB AT HOME

Much like his meticulous eye with dentistry, Dr. Grant had specific visions for everything - from the carpets to the art lights. All these things combined allowed us to create a workspace encompassing what he loves, while simultaneously sharing them with the community. Illuminated chattering teeth caricatures by local artist, Lindsay Ekstrom of LX Artworks, line the hallways, and custom wallpapers by Ashley Leftwich and Sarah English, owners of Ever Atelier, are featured in the space. You’ll also see several sweet tooth-themed sculptures and other pieces by Tyler Shields and Olivia Bonilla.

28 IBB AT HOME

When we began the design process for the interior, Grant had fallen in love with a black and white tiger print fabric that acted as our jumping off point. The task was then for me to create a functional layout and source just the right hospitality grade frames in contrast fabrics that would wear well in a commercial setting. We then found a practical way to feature our inspiration fabric with commercial grade durability. Next, we added industrial tables and lighting to juxtapose the more delicate fabric. These elements give the eye a place to rest as it wanders through the various points of interest.

Throughout the whole process, I worked alongside our vendors to not only ensure that our selections were sensible, but also to keep everything on track for our tight timeline. With a confirmed grand opening deadline, there were many emails, revisions, and favors called in, but we were able to make it happen. Before the first patients walked through the doors, I was there with my crew to lay rugs, place furniture, and start styling. And just like any other design project, Dr. Grant was left with growing room for the space to evolve as he continues to curate more art.

Yet another thing that made Dental Care of Frisco one of D Magazine’s Best Dentists of 2022 is his team, and I’m not just talking about the amazing ladies who keep the place rocking and rolling! Therapy dog Dolly Mae @dollymaethefrenchie and her nephew Elvis @elvisuptosumthing can regularly be seen making their rounds, napping at the front desk, and most important, providing love and attention to those of us who get a little more anxious when it’s time to hop in that chair.

If more commercial spaces took their cue from Dr. Grant, we would be lining up for our bi-annual cleanings and wouldn’t have to lie nearly as much about our flossing habits! Dental Care of Frisco is not only made special by the beautiful environment, but also the smiles and laughter that fill the suites. Everyone who works here truly practices what Dolly (Parton) preached. “If you see somebody without a smile, give ‘em one of yours!"

MAKE An entrance!

As the old saying goes, “You never get a second chance to make a good first impression.”

That’s exactly what the landscaping and your front door are for your home: the first impression for the grand entrance!

As the old-world design style has slowly expired, many clients are changing styles and finishes on the

front door to add to the curb appeal, as well as for the excellent performance.

Glass inserts, sidelights, and transoms are some of the customizable door selections available. Whether you want the security of a heavy-duty steel door or an energy efficient wood or fiberglass door, certainly having a clean, fresh, straight-line look will set the stage for your amazing new first impression!

Let’s be honest, kids’ rooms are the most fun to decorate! You can let your inner child run free and be creative in a way you wouldn’t necessarily in the rest of your home. Of course, there is always that balance of compromise –incorporating your ideas with the ones of your little one. Here are a few tips to make it a space that is beautiful, functional, and most important, one your child will love.

PAINT

A common mistake is to use your child’s literal favorite color. Painting a wall bright Barbie pink or Superhero green may be their choice, but tone down the shade. Bright colors instigate activity and can make it hard for kids to wind down and relax – the main purpose of the bedroom! Children are highly emotional, and their space will directly affect them. For example, too much red can cause the inability to focus, while yellow energizes and excites, making it

HOW TO DECORATE A KID'S ROOM

a difficult choice for an already active kiddo. You can absolutely incorporate their favorite hues; just keep in mind the tones for a nice relaxing retreat. Pull in those bright hues through storage bins and artwork.

F URNITURE

Toys, books, and video games – oh my! When you think of kids’ rooms, you automatically think of clutter. It’s unlikely that will change, so providing space to keep all those items is key. Storage ottomans are great, especially for smaller kids, as they can reach things (and clean up!) by themselves.

Trunks and vintage suitcases are also a different way to add storage. Being close to the ground, these pieces can hold items such as clothes they haven’t grown into yet or toys that don’t get played with as much. They can also be used as a nightstand.

Desks also make frequent appearances in rooms, but the function changes yearly. Use those desk drawers for crafts and

smaller toys when they are not needed for pencils and calculators. Shelves are an obvious solution, but try an etagere that can grow with your child. Use baskets on them to store toys and electronics now and then repurpose it as they grow.

ACCESSORIES

Decorative wooden ladders leaned up against walls can hold those blankets that are used for forts and/or just too sentimental to be let go of quite yet. Shades are a great window covering option as opposed to drapes; it keeps them off the floor and fingerprints off of them. Indoor/outdoor rugs are an excellent option for durability and cleaning, as it’s impossible to pair a child with a rug and keep it clean.

Use that space under the bed! Baskets and bins are a common theme in rooms, but location is key. Keep frequently-used toys close by keeping baskets underneath – You’ll eliminate space for lost socks and Legos!

DESIGN Decisions

Decisions, decisions!

Sometimes it’s difficult for a client to clearly understand a designer’s vision based solely off of descriptive words, plans, and samples. As an additional service, we offer renderings to help our clients visualize what the design concept will look like once it’s completed.

For this remodel in Utah, we wanted to render the design options to help our client confidently make a choice regarding their floor and cabinet color.

@designershay on Instagram

The kitchen will feature a stunning Lilac marble that consists of a white background with veins in black and a deep amethyst purple. The countertops, backsplash, waterfall island, and vent hood will all be fabricated out of this material. Paired with brass details and contrasting wood tones, this will certainly be a showstopping kitchen design.

For the powder bath design, we wanted our clients to decide between different floor color options and lighting options. The sink vanity and mirror wall will be fabricated out of a stunning marble. Asymmetrical lighting honors the modern vibe we desire for this space. Three dimensional metallic tile will cover two of the walls. Brass accents add warm contrast.

POWDER BATH OPTION 1:

Light wood floors paired with a 3-light brass and crystal pendant.

POWDER BATH OPTION 2:

Dark wood floors paired with a 3-light brass and crystal pendant.

POWDER BATH OPTION 3:

Dark wood floors paired with a single brass and glass pendant.

Design is subjective. Certain things speak to some people more than others. Which options would you choose if it were your home?

HOW TO

Style A Bar Beautiful

@designershannongidneyibb

Photography by AD Media Group

Drink trolleys were previously seen as relics of the past. Today, they are a fashionable way to display your liquor as well as a way to enjoy the added functionality. Often, we refer to them as bar carts or cabinets. They can be a great addition to the den, study, or even the dining room.

I love accessorizing a bar cart! It’s a perfect place to style for the seasons, utilizing various personalized napkins or even themed cocktail ingredients. If I have a cabinet, it’s nice to have the flexibility to open it, showing off its interior display or to leave it closed for a simpler look.

Styling one might also include beautiful glassware, mixology books, fresh flowers, or even a fun lamp to add interest. Be sure to find a bar cart that captures your home’s décor and reflects your personality. Bar cabinets and carts come in a variety of sizes and finishes and often come on casters, which add to their flexibility.

Four Benefits of Working with a Professional Designer

Does planning your purchase of furniture and accessories for a room or an entire home feel overwhelming?

1. An experienced designer can make your process a lot easier and help you avoid costly mistakes.

2. A skilled designer will measure your space and will create scaled drawings of your room to take the guesswork out of furniture size and placement.

3. Designers take pictures of your rooms and ask you questions about your style, color, and fabric preferences to help you create a pulled together look.

4. They have knowledge of the industry and manufacturers to find the right pieces for your style and budget.

TIPS

“BIGGER” SMALL SPACES

In Texas, we generally think “the bigger… the better” – but that’s not always an option in our homes. So, here are a couple of tips for small spaces.

1. It’s essential to create a focal point in any space, but most assuredly in a small space. You could add a unique piece of furniture, art (sculpture or wall art), or even create something as simple as a painted wall in a contrasting color. Wallpapers are very popular today and more unique than years past, so they too can give a small space an expansive look by providing great textures and color.

2. Make it functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. For example, in a small bedroom, it may seem that there is only room for the bed and a nightstand, but be creative in adding a place to sit – even if it is only a stool that is an interesting shape or a dynamic accent color. Place it in an unexpected position near the foot or at the side of the bed. In a smaller dining area, add a narrow buffet with a few key accessories for a functional yet complete look.

For more ideas for small spaces, one of the designers at IBB Design would be happy to meet with you.

Bathroom Window Treatments

THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF POLISH AND PRIVACY

Photography by Dan Piassick

Whether you’re giving your bathroom a total do-over or just want to refresh its look, window treatments should be a key part of your plan.

After all, the optimal bathroom windows treatments need to blend just the right amount of light control and style, while standing up to humidity and providing privacy from your neighbors.

Here’s an overview of shutters, blinds, and shades to give your bathroom the perfect finishing touch.

Vinyl Shutters: With a rich, classic aesthetic, shutters are like custom cabinetry for your windows. And unlike genuine wood shutters, vinyl shutters can take heat and moisture, making them ideal solutions for bathroom windows. Look for shutters with a UV-resistant material that prevents them from warping, cracking, fading, chipping, peeling, or discoloring over time.

If you desire a lot of natural light in your bathroom (and privacy won’t be an issue), consider installing shutters only on the lower halves of your windows.

Faux Wood Blinds: Do you have real wood blinds in other rooms of your home and want a consistent look in your bathroom? Then faux wood blinds are your answer. Like vinyl shutters, they stand up to humidity, so they won’t warp or crack. They’re extremely durable and are available in a variety of colors and finishes.

You can enjoy as much natural light or privacy as you desire without raising or lowering the blind; simply tilt the slats.

Banded Shades: For a different look on your bathroom windows, you may want to consider banded shades. Also known as layered shades, these unique window treatments are a spin

on a standard roller shade. They combine alternating sheer and solid fabric bands on a single shade for a solution that gives you two options for light.

Simply align the solid fabric bands to let the sheers diffuse natural light; they also filter the view from the outside in. When you desire privacy, shift the solid bands so they overlap one another. (Of course, you can also raise the entire shade for a wide-open view.)

Keep in mind, though, that fabric window treatments are more susceptible to mildew than vinyl shutters or faux wood blinds, so make sure you run your exhaust fan long enough to allow the fabric to dry.

Woven Wood Shades: Want to add a touch of nature to your bathroom? Consider woven wood shades. Handcrafted from natural fibers like bamboo, grasses, reeds, and jute, woven wood shades add a peaceful ambiance so you can enjoy a relaxing soak or shower at the end of the day.

The amount of natural light that filters through a woven wood shade depends on its weave. While the shade you choose may provide privacy during the day, it may become more see-through at night. For increased privacy, opt for a room-darkening liner.

Convenient Control: As you’re narrowing down your choices for new bathroom window treatments, also think about how you want to control them. While you can certainly open and close them manually, you could also enjoy convenient control with automated shades—which is especially ideal if you have hard-to-reach windows, such as those behind a soaking tub.

You can easily raise and lower automated shades (or tilt the louvers on automated shutters) with a button press on a remote, a tap on your mobile device, automatically, or even with your voice (and your favorite voice assistant).

A ROOM YOU CANGrow Into

Kids grow up fast, and I’m not talking about physically - I’m talking personalities! Ever since I was young, I have always loved rearranging and refreshing my space to reflect my newly-found design style or obsession of the moment. I always try to remember this when I’m designing spaces for young clients. Function is important; durability is important, but most important is the need for the space to be one they can love and continue to grow into for years!

I’ve had way too much fun on a recent project creating a game room whose primary end user is a 10-yearold boy. His playroom needed a serious overhaul. This uniquely-shaped space innately presented itself with five different zones: reading, movie watching, snacking, playing, and most important, studying. Once these zones were designated, I set to finding some great cost-effective staple pieces that could

stand up to a (soon-to-be) teenage boy and his friends and also something that was comfortable enough that his family could enjoy with him. A base of great streamlined pieces left me lots of room to give the space a ton of personality with only minor updates.

My original palette carries right out of his current bedroom, which has a fun and casual nautical theme. Accents of soft blues and cheery rust tones give the space a comfortable and youthful, yet still polished feel. To make his study space feel even more special, I’ve wrapped the entire style with a very durable vinyl grass cloth and topped it off with motorized Roman shades to help with computer glare and to make the space feel cozier when he’s in there tackling his homework… or gaming.

48 IBB AT HOME

In a few years, when he hits that teenage phase, we can turn the whole space into a great hangout for all of his friends. The soft-toned textiles will be replaced with vibrant primary reds and blues in rich, machine washable velvets and vegan leathers to make Mom’s life a little easier. Graphic fabric prints, some funky accessories, and a wild gallery wall complete with a couple of neon signs really add tons of personality to this concept!

And inevitability those kiddos will end up growing up and moving out, but that doesn’t mean the game room has to go away. That just means it’s time to up the sophistication a bit so that the parents and their friends can enjoy it as well! Ralph Lauren inspired prints and patterns bring a level of luxe to this otherwise neutral palette. A few elegant accessories and some new beautiful framed nautically inspired artwork bring the space full circle and back to its original roots for a touch of nostalgia.

SustainableLiving

Photography by AD Media Group

Sustainable design materials are on-trend right now. Not only can they lower your ecological footprint, but they can also improve your health.

Bamboo Flooring – Bamboo is a fast-growing type of grass, not a tree and is both strong and flexible.

Natural Stones – Using sustainable natural stone offers a timeless look to your home. Choose Travertine, Marble, Tile, or Terrazzo that has recycled content to add elegance to your home.

Cork – From the bark of the cork oak tree, cork can be used on walls, floors, and accessories.

Reclaimed Wood – A versatile multi-purpose material can be used as flooring, wood beams, and mantels,

Recycled Glass – There are endless ways to use Recycled Glass in your kitchen, from glass cabinet fronts, glass vases, and even countertops made with recycled glass.

Low or No-VOC Paint – Opt for painting your walls with a paint that is free of volatile organic compounds that are toxic to humans, pets, and the environment.

Performance Fabrics – Using highly durable and easily cleanable fabrics on your upholstery will help lengthen the life of those furniture pieces.

Welcoming guestrooms

Welcome, Friends and Family!

When it comes to entertaining, the most important item is making your guests feel special and comfortable while staying in your guestroom. These are a few little touches that can make all the difference.

Bedding – Having good linens is always my priority and goes a long way when it comes to comfort. You may want to splurge on this one.

Pillows – Everyone has a preference on pillows, so be sure to keep a variety of soft and firm options in the room.

Chair & Ottoman – Include a comfy chair to invite relaxation and serenity, and add an ottoman if the space permits.

Bedside Table or Nightstand – Add a decorative piece for holding your guest’s valuables along with a chic lamp.

Lighting – Good lighting for reading is a must and can set the mood for leisure.

Mirror – Give your guests a place to get ready in privacy in the room.

Always remember to add a few fresh flowers!

WHAT’S A GREAT Design Tip?

LAYER IN INTEREST IN AN ETAGERE

Looking for the perfect way to add some interest and personality to your space? A well styled etagere or bookshelf might be just the ticket. Layering in art, books, and nostalgia in one place allows your eye to explore and allows you a chance to showcase both things you love and things that represent your interests. Always remember that when styling a shelf, balance is key!

TOP OFF WITH AN OUTDOOR RUG

This summer, consider adding a rug to your outdoor living spaces. A rug makes a great foundation for a space, even on top of your beautiful decking or pavers. Adding the extra layer helps define your space, create visual interest, and bring in color and coziness. An outdoor rug will usher in the comforts of indoors to your outdoor space!

DECORATE YOUR PLAYROOM

When decorating a playroom, people tend to overthink things or feel like they need to tie it in with the rest of their house. In reality, it can be a fun statement where kids can fully express themselves! Don’t be afraid of bold pattern wallpapers, carpets, and drapes. The more patterns, the more sins it hides! Also use the kids’ original artwork to hang on the wall. Gallery walls are an easy way to constantly add new art! Research shows that when kids are able to show self-expression, it helps create a firm foundation for their imagination and critical thinking!

APPEASE EVERYONE WITH A FANDELIER

One of the biggest decisions we see for couples, especially in the South, is whether to put a chandelier or a ceiling fan in a room. Fandeliers are slowly starting to appear at lighting markets to help appease both sides. Smaller scale fans are encased within a chandelier to allow for a beautiful view while still providing airflow.

backyard Resort

When the owners of a large pool building company ask you to assist in their backyard design, you know it’s going to be an exciting project! We completed a whole house renovation with our amazing clients, including their backyard. The goal was to create a luxurious backyard resort that flowed seamlessly with their interiors.

Beautiful sand-blasted marble flown in from Turkey was used in various formats for the pool deck and pool design. It gave us the perfect backdrop to help our clients create the consummate backyard resort.

VERANDA Sitting Area

For the veranda sitting area, we designed a cocktail table out of Crystalline in a light blue hue to complement the backyard surroundings. A rich cobalt sofa and patterned swivel chairs offer cozy seating for the space.

For the pool bath design, we selected a patterned marble to create a statement on the vanity wall. We painted the vanity and linen cabinet a rich blue to create contrast and depth in the space.

Dining

When using brighter colors, it’s a good idea to ground them with a warm or darker foundation. We love how the rich wood floors contrast the bright white, turquoise, and green in this color scheme. Layering the chocolate floors, bold rug, and clean white table, we invite you to enjoy your family meals in this lovely space.

Family Room

Two-story ceilings stretch high above the family and dining area, which we highlighted with a soft patterned drapery. The sofa in a green velvet with modern arms is the foundation of our room. We continued the theme of clean lines and the simple contrast of white and rich wood tones to ground the cheerful colors.

A study should invoke both creative flow and intense focus. To do this, we kept our playful color scheme in solid tones, rather than busy patterns. The desk and shelves in strong black and white provide the anchor for a fabulous working space.

ANATOMY OF Her Closet

Did you know that primary closets are one of our most frequently organized spaces? Over time, we've developed a simple approach for a closet that is equal parts functional and stylish. We're pulling back the curtain on five important features we implement in every woman's closet to give it that NEAT touch.

MATCHING HANGERS

Don't overlook the impact matching hangers can have on your closet, both visually and functionally. The first thing we do in every NEAT closet is switch to a matching slim hanger like our Everyday Hangers. This is a huge space saver and will allow you to hang more items per closet rod, as opposed to wooden or tubular hangers.

COORDINATING BINS

We often utilize bins to corral accessories or for folded clothing when drawer space is limited. However, selecting the right bin can make or break your system both functionally and aesthetically. Our Lined Acacia and Oxford Bins are the perfect solution because they were designed in the same size and with coordinating fabric to be used together. The acacia frame in our Cane Baskets and Boxes makes them a great companion to the Lined Acacia Bins as well.

DROP ZONE

Eye-level closet shelves are the perfect spot for collecting daily use jewelry, change, keys, etc. Give a designated home to whatever you tend to drop at the end of the day using a tray or decorative box like our Cane Boxes. If you have room, you can even include a mirror or picture frame for an added decorative element.

FOLDED STACKS

When drawer space is at a minimum, we will often use shelves to create short stacks of clothing that are less often worn. This may consist of delicate sweaters, jeans, or even shorts. Just remember not to stack items too high to avoid toppling piles.

DISPLAY ACCESSORIES

When space allows, our favorite use of shelves is for displaying accessories like purses, hats, and jewelry. This encourages you to use what you can see and gives your closet a boutique vibe. Clutch dividers and purse inserts are great tools for this. We've also used risers to elevate handbags and stands or hooks for displaying hats.
