he final of the III Concurso Internacional de Jóvenes Diseñadores Plataforma Atlántica de Tenerife, which was organised through the Tenerife Moda programme, took place on 28th October at Magma Arte y Congresos, Costa Adeje. 11 finalists selected from 154 original competitors took part in this international fashion design contest with entries from Tenerife, Lanzarote, Portugal, Belgium, Latin America and Russia. Fashion TV were present at the event to record clips which are to be broadcast in over 130 countries, forming a magnificent promotion for the island. Each of the competing designers showed their collections on the catwalk, with the help of 40 models, the majority of whom were from the Canary Islands. At the end of an extremely enjoyable evening, during which the audience were shown clothing ideas suitable for day, evening and formal wear, the prizes were taken by: 1st: Margot Inés Ferreira Rosales, 34 years old from Uruguay (€4,000) 2nd: Annette Kölling, 30 years old from Belgium, but born in Germany (€2,000) An additional prize was awarded for innovation and commercial viability to Cintia Vanesa Sosa and María Fernanda Arnaldi (who

There were many dignatories and invited guests present at the event, some of them involved in the prize presentation. They included Cabildo councillor for tourism, José Manuel Bermúdez, Cabildo councillor for economic development, business and employment, Efrain Medina, Adeje mayor José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, Adeje councillor for economic development and taxation Ermitas Moreira and Guía de Isora mayor Pedro Martín. The judges panel included designer David Delfin, Vanesa Cabeza and actress Rossy de Palma as well as international model Damián Martín and Carnaval designer Santi Castro. They shared the difficult task of selecting the winners with designers Ros Jiménez and Jacqueline Cuestas, Tenerife Moda creators from the companies Roselinde and Morena Mía respectively.
