Profile Avant Première Music + Media Market Berlin is the annual trade fair for performing arts films in Berlin. As market place and network for international experts in the audio-visual media, it brings together protagonists of the industry, providing unique business opportunities and fosters trade in a specialised market. The Avant Première Screenings, main programme item of the fair, present over 500 music- and dance films, documentaries, portraits, concerts and live recordings, from classical music to contemporary and pop, to make

Focus 2015 FOCUS TECHNOLOGY Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institut is one of the leading competence partners of Avant Première Music + Media Market Berlin. Technical multimedia innovations play an increasing role in the film market. TIME Lab as one of these innovations is presented to Avant Première-participants. The impact of experience on the consumer surpasses current standards in the digital film world: High-resolution 7K-video formats and an interactive 3D sound system provide optical and acoustic impressions, which to this point have been presented on a theoretical basis only. Next to the exhibition of this technology at Avant Première, Fraunhofer HHI offers workshops to topics like ‘Creating Space in Video and Audio’ or ‘How to create 360° Panoramic Content’ and gives insights into revolutionary audio-visual techniques.
FOCUS POP MUSIC Next to technology for the performing arts, Avant Première in 2015 sets a second focus on the pop music genre. In the One-on-one Expert Sessions, Special Screenings and a panel participants approach topics that move this particular field, like the production of high quality pop music documentaries: ‘What makes a great Pop Doc?’, budget challenges for a film production: ‘Who moved my marketing budget?’ as well as the impact of market dynamics on broadcasting formats: ‘Broadcasting in a changing market’.
