N EWSL ET TER IMZ MEMBERS NEWS ELECTRIC SKY FILLS GLOBAL SCHEDULES World premiere of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach’s rediscovered cantatas (HDTV / 85’ / Directed by Henning Kasten / A production of ACCENTUS MUSIC in coproduction with ZDF/arte) 2010 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710 – 1784), the eldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach. While he is mostly unknown today, Wilhelm Friedemann was one of the most outstanding but also headstrong composers of his time. Since World War 2, however, many of his works had been missing and were amazingly rediscovered by the renowned Bach researcher Christoph Wolff (Harvard) in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1999. For the musical world, the rediscovery of these musically and technically highly sophisticated compositions was a sensation. An international TV audience will have the unique opportunity to take part in the world premiere of these four beautiful cantatas, performed in the impressive Augustiner Church in Mainz.
