Being Mindful... AS we come to the end of another year it’s time for us to reflect on what we have achieved and in some cases, what we haven’t. It’s also a time when we start looking at the New Year ahead, thinking about what our goals will be and what difference we want to make. As a Career Coach I see many clients who are looking to set their career goals for the coming year. However, for many of my clients the single most important thing they want every year is to achieve is a good work/life balance. Yet is it often  something many of us struggle to achieve - year after year.

We live in a world where we are constantly under pressure to deliver, to be more productive and resourceful. A new approach to dealing with this is ‘Mindfulness’. So what is Mindfulness and how can it help you achieve your career goals and give you a better work/life balance in 2016? Mindfulness is described as “a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts.” It’s about observation without criticism and being compassionate with yourself.

The one thing that’s had the greatest impact on our careers and our lives is new technology. We have super fast broadband, laptops, tablets and smartphones; everything we need to be able to access and process information instantly and constantly. Whilst we can see so many benefits of this we can also feel the disadvantages such as finding time to switch off. If you are self-employed, like me, it’s easy to start checking your emails late at night. Sometimes you can end up saying “yes” to everything because you don’t want to let people down but this can lead to feeling overwhelmed with deadlines and expectations. When we go on holiday, the laptop should have a break too and be left at home, not end up on the beach with us. If you are an employee you can end up taking work home 

with you or finding the company’s new technology becoming more of a stress factor than a help. Mass emails and being copied in to everything and anything, filing and prioritising them, scheduling appointments, reading important information and articles, working with complex online systems, intranets, digital forms and so on. Mindfulness is about being in the present. Taking time to breathe. Not taking everything personally and bringing control back in to your life. It’s a form of ‘mental training’ – looking at things from a difference perspective and putting yourself back in the driving seat. For example, scheduling yourself some ‘me time’. Time to focus on what you have achieved in your work - but not for the whole of 2015 just today. Switch your phone off for while and do something that will re-energise you. Exercise is a fantastic way to invigorate your body and your mind. If you’re feeling stressed or struggling to complete something, often the best course of action is to walk away from it and return to it with a fresh perspective. Start to avoid negative thoughts when they appear. Look at things from a more positive angle. Rather than focusing on all those things you didn’t get to do this year and worrying about how you are going to achieve those goals for 2016 – just breathe and focus on making the very best of what you do right now! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and Mindful New Year!

I was browsing through the catalogue for an upcoming classic car auction recently when I noticed something quite remarkable. There were sev eral Ford Capris on offer; noth ing too remarkable about that but it was the guide prices that caught my eye – these cars were expected to fetch be tween £1519k. Has the hum ble Capri become an appreciat ing classic? The original Capri was launched in 1969 as a Euro pean alternative to the hugely successful Mustang. It was a big hit and Ford had shifted 1.2 million of the Mk I when pro duction ended in 1974. The Mk II was more of a car for every man with a bigger cabin and a practical hatchback, yet it didn’t recapture the success of the original, shifting less than half the numbers of the Mk I in its 4 year lifespan. By the time the Mk III came along in 1978, sales were in terminal decline, yet Ford persisted with it until 1986. The thing is, everyone had a Capri. Terry from Minder had one as did Bodie and Doyle from the Professionals. My mum had one, so did several of my friends and I bought one myself. Even so, by the late 80s the Capri had become a bad joke and even ten years ago you couldn’t give them 

away. So why are they sud denly fetching big money? Part of it is the old adage that you don’t appreciate what you’ve got till it’s gone. So many Capris were sent off to the scrap yard when they got old and tired that there are very few left; out of over 55,000 Fords on Autotrader last week, 4 were Capris. These ranged from a very sorry looking 1.6L for £3,500 to a fully restored 3.0S for £18,850. These cars don’t stay advertised for long either, give them a week and they’re gone. Another thing working in the Capri’s favour is the current vogue for all the things 70s and 80s  the Mk III fits the bill per fectly. Most of all though, it’s actually a very good car. The styling is of its era but has stood the test of time well; the long bonnet, muscular haunches and curvaceous side windows shout American mus cle car and the effect is height ened by the twin headlights and low bonnet lip. Inside you sit low to the ground with the small steering wheel perfectly positioned, a panel of six in struments behind it and the long throw gear shift nicely to hand. There is a surprising amount of room in the cabin and the hatchback and folding rear seats add a fair degree of practicality.

The engine choice consisted of 1.6 litre or 2.0 litre versions of Ford’s much loved Pinto en gine or the 3.0 litre V6 Essex powerplant (it was made in Dagenham!) The 1.6 is best ignored but the 2.0 provides a decent amount of power, will rev all the way up to 7000rpm and is easy to tune. I’d go for the V6 though, it has a lovely soft burble, is hugely flexible and kicks out 140bhp – good for 125mph. Ford made a 3.0 Ghia which was well equipped and had an automatic gear box but the sportier 3.0S is the one to go for. Capris are notoriously light on the back and lairy power slides are an everyday event, particularly in the wet, but the steering is precise enough to hold everything to gether. The Capri is very well made, has reliable mechanicals and most of the parts including body panels are readily avail able. For this reason, it is worth buying a tatty runner for low money, sourcing your own parts and then paying for it to be restored; you should be able to pick up something for around the £4k mark. It’s even worth swapping in a 3.0 V6 to replace a Pinto or replacing an auto with a manual box. Then just keep it clean and think of all the money you’ve made. 

ROBINREDBREAST  

FOR many of us our favourite winter and Christmas bird is the robin. Not only is it a cheerful and friendly bird, it has also been planted in our culture that has flowered over many years from various seeds. But there is a third angle to this songbird. The reason why it is a Christmas bird is because the robin has a red breast which originated in the Holy Land at the time of the crucifixion. Jesus’ blood was supposed to have stained the bird and coloured the robin’s famous bib. In medieval times the bird was used as a Christian name, such as Sir Robin in the tales of King Arthur and the great Robin Hood amongst others. Other British medieval folklore grew around Robin Redbreast. The stories signified that the bird was or should be related to Jenny Wren, extending from cousin to fiancé and even as a married couple. Developing from many oral traditions, the poem of Cock Robin was finally written down in the 1700s. The Victorians furthered the tradition by associating the robin with farms and snow which developed into our modern day Christmas image. However for historians these pictures have nothing in common with the Passion which happened in a hot and arid middle-eastern country, two thousand years ago. The robin manages to upset very few people, which in this day and age is an absolute marvel! Moreover many of us are pleased when one turns up and hangs around for a few minutes. These include gardeners tilling the ground, rousing the birds’ prey which lies in beds of soil. Over many years robins have learned to anticipate the gardener’s work and have successfully interpreted this as signs of potential food. Perhaps it is the gardener’s friend which was one of the creatures that helped us dig up the phrase ‘an early bird catches the worm’. But the reason why robins are friendly to homo-sapiens is not because they admire our good looks nor because of our moral or ethical behaviour in the natural world. This friendship is due to their need to catch their necessary daily amounts of food! Surviving in the harsh frosts and snow - and even in the lush summer season is not as easy as it seems to be. Despite being a successful and abundant bird, many robins only survive for one year. Some battling cock robins even kill one another in truly awful fights over territory and the right to mate. In the garden I have often witnessed two males at war. First of all, they posture. This is to demonstrate that one of them is the better and fitter combatant, and that his rival ought to give up before the skirmish begins. When one of them backs down he is still capable of moving on and living elsewhere. Posturing usually takes a few minutes, and is a pre-programmed ritual that all males understand, even if it is their first dual in their first spring. Their natural instinct tells them these signs, what to judge, how to react and what they should to do. The ritual begins with hopping and prancing along in parallel lines when they carefully eye up each other’s size and shape, gauge their physical prowess and decide on their best course of action. If the posturing, threats and showmanship does not frighten off their rival, and both of them fancy their chances of victory, they will attack in earnest. So when I see two robins flapping their wings, ‘singing’ together and rising vertically towards the sky in tandem, I know they are not behaving like sweet birds in a pastoral scene. Jetting upwards in a brawling spiral is unique to robins which can result in death for one and glory for the other. Rarely does the bout end in stalemate. This is because the natural world cannot allow two males to share the fighter’s purse. Only one can inhabit this territory and possess all that goes with it. Fighting takes time, energy and skill, often resulting in injury. This means that both individuals can end up being worse off than before the battle. Moreover in heavier conflicts, more serious damage can be inflicted and death can follow. Therefore throughout the animal kingdom, avoidance is sensible because many species do not fight unless they really have to. Mating, build a nest and finding food for their chicks, whether it is one brood, two or even three, will prove to be taxing enough. At the end of summer many successful parents sustain shabby coats due to these stresses, proving life to have been difficult; even if we believe them to have been ‘happy’. Whilst I have witnessed these vicious life and death battles at Millstream Fork, I have only once had the pleasure of them nesting here. This has been disappointing, and I would like another pair to rear their family on the premises again. As a three or four year old, I had a soft spot for robins when I was first told that they sometimes built their homes in discarded kettles, saucepans and other kitchen ware. I was transfixed with why robins would do this and was wide-eyed at seeing actual photographs of these nests. Decades later I still want to see one of these improvised nests for the first time. Even so the important thing for the robin is the practicability of their home in terms of siting, safety and suitability to raise at least one family of chicks. Realistically I am only too aware that these romantic images and yearnings are for children and disappointed adults.

For the ultimate in gorgeous apples, pears, plums or more, the fruit needs to be freshly picked and sun-warmed - so grow your own and make some good looking additions to your garden, even when space is limited. There’s no need to have a massive plot or an orchard to grow fruit trees… You can grow fruit trees in surprisingly small spaces, especially if you don’t grow them in a classic tree shape, but train them. Training them into espaliers (several sets of horizontal ‘arms’), cordons (single main stems grown at an angle) or fans (with branches trained into a fan shape) means that you can grow many varieties of apples and pears up against a suitable vertical surface such as a wall, fence or set of sturdy wires. You could also train fruits like apples to make a neat edging for a bed or border about 45cm above ground level (called ‘step-overs’). A step-over apple grows to a height of about 30cm and is trained to forms two horizontal ‘arms’, which will bear a smallish crop of fruit. Try step-overs around the edge of your vegetable plot or flower bed. To make a real feature of fruit, use a tree to create a 

decorative and productive arch. Buy an inexpensive bare root cordon (straight stem) or a ‘whip’ fruit tree of your favourite variety, pair it with another variety that is a suitable pollinator (check with the nursery) and plant one on each side of the arch, training them in as they grow. It will look pretty when in blossom in spring and will bear tasty fruit too. Provided you get the right rootstock (see below), you can grow fruit trees in large containers. The container needs to be big - a half-barrel at least - and have drainage holes kept clear using a few inches of broken china or ‘crocks’ at its bottom. Good quality loambased compost such as John Innes No.3 will work well, but help to keep it well aerated and free-draining by adding 2550% multi-purpose loam-free compost. It is essential to choose fruit trees on the right ‘rootstock’, as this determines the ultimate size and vigour of the tree. Apples are complicated, but as a rule, for step-overs, cordons, dwarf bushes and trees in containers try the extremely dwarfing M27 - though weak varieties may fail in poor soil or if not well pampered. For bush, cordon, espaliers and

half-standard try the dwarfing rootstock M26, while for a cordon, an espalier on poor soil, arches and bush trees try the semi-dwarfing MM106. You can buy one year old ‘maidens’ or ‘whips’ which are small, fairly straight stems and train them yourself or you can buy trained or part-trained trees. Make sure you choose varieties that flower at the same time so that they pollinate each other and thus provide fruit. Ask your supplier which ‘pollination group’ each variety is in. At this time of year you can buy inexpensive fruit trees sold ‘bare-root’, which means lifted from a field and not container grown; they also establish well. Bare-root fruit trees are generally available from about November until early March - so don’t delay, get ordering or planting today! Perfect as a Christmas gift, make vegetable growing fun with Pippa’s unique ‘Grow Your Own with Pippa Greenwood’ system. CHRISTMAS

 DECORATIONS FROM YOUR GARDEN  

IT’S now 3 weeks until Christmas, This time last year I wrote about different Christmas Bulbs and plants, so this year I thought it would be a good idea to use material from the garden to make your own decorations. So RCHS Committee Member Margaret McIntosh brings some ideas to the table... I am a gardener, not a flower arranger. I like to bring my garden into the house, especially at Christmas time, and use plant material in autumn colours for a natural display. First I pick short stems of different foliage, colours and textures. Variegated - Euonymus fortunei silver queen; Aucuba crotonifolia; Osmanthus heterophyllus Aureomarginatus; Ivy Purple - Phormium tenax Bronze baby; Heuchera Plum pudding; Pittisporum Tom thumb; Hebe Autumn glory Gold - Choisia Sundance; Ligustrum (privet) Aureum Evergreen - Sarcococca Christmas box; Conifer; Fatsia Seed heads - Hydrangea; Sedum; Allium NB. Stand all fresh material in water overnight. TABLE DECORATION • Prepare your container. A shallow dish with wet oasis held in place by florist’s tape. • Place 2 shoots close together at one end, repeat with similar colour, at the other side to balance. • Place a different texture next to these for contrast. Continue to place stems to cover the oasis. Alternate colours and textures. • Add a focal point: Choisia at the front; Fatsia for height. • Add fir cones or seed heads to fill any gaps. • To add colour, place a candle in the centre and stand on a red mat. FESTIVE TREE • Place 5 coloured branches in a tall vase: Red stems of Cornus Alba; bright green of Kerria Japonica or spray your own colour. • Weight the vase with sand/glass pebbles. Trim to shape. • Hang the branches with home made decorations. Painted fir cones; salt dough shapes; Christmas cookies. Make loops of raffia for a rustic effect.

CHRISTMAS IN A CUP

• Take a festive mug- decorated with colourful robins, Ponsettia. • Bunch together stems to echo the colours of the motif. Red Skimmia; Rosehips; Hollyberries; Conifer with tiny cones; Trachelospermum Jasminoides • Tie loosely and place in your container with water. • A row of these down your table looks fabulous This is quick and so easy anyone can do it. Have a go and see the effect. BASKET OF SPARKLE • Decorate your hearth or fill a basket with fir cones, the larger the better. If you don’t have any in the garden, try your local park. • Take a set of miniature LED lights, battery operated. • Tuck in between the cones to hide the flex and switch on! • These cost under £5 and come in red, green or white. The true colours of Christmas. Finally, as this is the last article of the year you may be wondering what you can be doing in the garden over the Christmas break! Well if the weather is mild, get out there and remove all leaves and dead growth from your beds as this is where slugs and snails over winter and cause all sorts of problems for you in early spring. Make sure you air greenhouses during days where the temperature is above 50c and water those over wintering plants sparingly about every two weeks. The RCHS would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a great gardening year in 2016.

h Christmas. The time of year when you know you’ll be given at least one supermarket bubble bath set that will end up in the charity shop. If you don’t want to commit the same present buying mistakes, read on for our pick of the top beauty buys this Christmas.

Teens and tweens - Buying for a teen? M&S have some really cute gift sets out, including a set of mini lip glosses for £9.50. The glosses are also perfect for splitting up to add to Christmas crackers or stockings. It’s what’s outside that counts! - Let’s face it, when it comes to some members of the family, it’s often as much about the packaging as it is the product. Head to White Stuff for some gorgeously designed beauty products, including a body butter for £9.95, make+up bag for £15 and soaps for £5. 

Bargain hunter? - TK Maxx is always worth a rummage for beauty products. You can get your mitts on some top brands, at well below the RRP. You’ll also want to check out the bargain beauty bundles at www.halfprice perfumes.co.uk and www.latestin beauty.com. At the time of writing, Latest in Beauty was offering a bundle of over £70 worth of products for just £17.99. A touch of indulgence - The Forever Frangipani Collection by Elemis is one of those gifts that’s pretty much guaranteed to please. It’s £39.90, but includes a shower cream, body oil, body cream and body mist, that are worth more than £70 altogether. The frangipani fragrance is warm, rich and evokes the feeling of an expensive foreign holiday to a sunnier climate. Bliss. Looking to really splash out? Try Elemis’ Heritage Heroes. It’s an eye watering £225, but you do get 25 products, worth £425 altogether. Charity gifts - Green People has partnered with the Woodland Trust

on a range of gift sets, including the Hand Care Collection (£15.95), Facial Care Collection (£15.95) and Men’s Collection (£19.95). Other great charity gifts on the market include Lush’s Charity Pot hand and body lotion (£6.95). For the boys - There are some great men’s gift sets out this Christmas, including the Nuxe Men Survival Kit (a bargain at £8.50) and the Elemis Perfect Man set (£49). Origins, Darphin and Lancome usually have some good male grooming sets out for Christmas too. One for your list - Finally, if you fancy adding one to your own wish list, Neal’s Yard Remedies’ Aromatherapy Bath and Massage Oil Organic Collection is definitely worth a look. Featuring six mini oils, all gorgeously scented, this is a real treat, especially if you specify that a massage needs to be included as part of the gift.

 One of the biggest issues facing animal welfare charities today is trying to deal with the tens of thousands of pets that become lost every year and which have either not been microchipped or whose owners have moved but haven’t updated their address details on the microchip database. These strays are the ones which are very rarely able to be reunited with their owners and as a result new homes have to be found for them.

So far this year at the Middlesex North West Branch of the RSPCA we have taken in nearly 600 pets in need of shelter and care while a new home is found for them and 232 of these have been stray and not microchipped. If the owners of these pets had taken the time to get their pet microchipped then they could all have been reunited with their families by now. You can get your pet microchipped at your local vets or if you are on a low income you may find local animal welfare charities can help. Microchip ping is a quick and simple process that involves injecting a tiny microchip under your pet’s skin. This has a unique number that can be read by a scanner. Most animals can be microchipped but it is most commonly used for cats, dogs, rabbits and horses. It will be a legal requirement from 6th April 2016 for all dogs in England to be microchipped.

 Music Review  by Zoe Hart

ZOE HART an international club DJ since 1999, turned Childrens Entertainer in 2012. She is also a qualified yoga teacher and EI and mindfulness practitioner. Her company ‘Hart Entertainments’ provides quality conscious discos for children of all ages in the Bucks, Middlesex and West London areas. www.zoehart.co.uk - 07747 063 149

Hi, I’m Zoe and I run a local children’s disco service. In todays world we are constantly bombarded with information and not enough time to absorb and filter it for our children, so I thought I’d help a little, at least in the area that I’m good at. Music!

This month’s favourite

HELLO - Adele This is Adele’s return after 4 years and she packed a punch with this one. It’s a song about making up with herself. It’s deep and emotive, not one for the kids parties but good SONG musically for them to hear.

0+

TURN THE MUSIC LOUDER (RUMBLE) KDA ft Tinie Tempah & Katy B Pretty standard chart house track, good for parties and kids. Nothing inappropriate in SONG either the lyrics or the video.

0+

LOVE ME LIKE YOU - Little Mix A good end of the night track for teenage school disco’s & proms. Funny video too. Fine for any age once into AGE VIDEO the whole boy / girl thing.

0+

12+

SORRY – Justin Bieber The song is about manning up and apologising when you get it wrong. Good sentiment and clean lyrics with very danceable beat. The video teaser is of scantily clad girls twerking up all over each other, AGE VIDEO not good for younger audiences.

0+

16+

IN2 – WSTRN New Rap RnB boy band with a song that’s way too catchy for the kids. It speaks of nothing in particular and has a video to go along with it. There’s the ‘S’ word in there a couple of times, It’s a well produced track, but in my AGE opinion that’s about it. 16+

SAX – Fleur East What a fantastic track. Kids love it. Great for parties. Fleur East is absolutely rocking it. From Walthamstow, UK, this lady is showing what you can do with hard work, talent and passion. Her debut album is due out on Dec 4th, I’m really AGE looking forward to it! 0+ THE HILLS – The Weekend Dark and sinister RnB track on lust, drugs and fame, with a kick in bass that you can’t help but feel when it drops. Wstrn really have something to aspire to here, it’s has some very rude words in it, would be an awful choice at a party and is AGE totally NOT age appropriate for children.

18+

HOTLINE BLING - Drake Catchy RnB track from grammy awarding winning Canadian artist Drake. Not great for the kids, I’m sure the teenagers love it.

AGE

14+

NEVER FORGET YOU - MNEK & Zara Larsson Listed as dubstep garage house, this track is beautiful emotive and danceable, the video is age appropriate as well featuring a creature or imaginary friend that the little girl grows up AGE with and will never forget.

0+

PERFECT - One Direction These lads are going from strength to strength. Loved by the kids and with good reason. They’re keeping it clean. Good on AGE ya boys. 0+

Time to remove all asbestos in buildings

 

by Alan Joliffe Senior litigation executive, personal injury team IBB Solicitors alan.joliffe@ibblaw.co.uk

The All-party Parliamentary Group on Occupational Safety and Health has issued a report calling for the introduction of urgent legislation to address the legacy of asbestos that remains in Britain’s buildings. Among the measures raised by the report was that all commercial, public, and rented domestic premises built or refurbished before 2000 should have a full asbestos survey undertaken by 2022. In addition, it said that where asbestos is identified, all refurbishment, repair or remedial work done in the vicinity of the asbestos containing material should include its full removal. On a daily basis, we as lawyers deal with the legacy of disease caused by exposure to asbestos decades ago, but we are also seeing increasing numbers of people who did not work directly with asbestos but have contracted diseases because asbestos was in the building where they worked. No one can guarantee asbestos will remain undisturbed and that buildings will remain in good repair. The only sure way to prevent exposure in the future is to get it removed. The Government needs to start now to plan and set targets for phased, safe removal. Asbestos victims were badly let down in the past by the failure to ban asbestos until decades after the dangers were first known. We owe it to future generations to stop the epidemic of asbestos diseases by removing the root cause from our workplaces, public buildings and homes.

Being exposed to asbestos – a naturally occurring fibrous material, which was regularly used in buildings between the 1950s and 1990s – carries a risk of serious and potentially fatal diseases, including mesothelioma, lung cancer and asbestosis. If you have been exposed to high levels of asbestos, even if it was up to 50 years ago, and you are suffering symptoms such as shortness of breath, a persistent cough, a loss of appetite and weight loss, with tightness of your chest, you should immediately seek the advice of your General Practitioner, who will arrange for a chest x-ray to consider whether you are suffering some form of asbestos-related disease. You may be a family member of someone who was diagnosed with an asbestos-related cancer such as lung cancer or mesothelioma and who has passed away as a result of that condition. The estate of the deceased may still be entitled to some compensation in respect of their illness. IBB Solicitors’ personal injury team includes specialists in industrial disease cases. Call our Uxbridge-based lawyers today on 01895 207295 to discuss how we can help.

Life-changing advice When life as you know it changes through industrial disease we can help you seek redress and deal with the new challenges you face. Call us to talk to our experienced solicitors about coping with change and planning for your future – and that of those you love. .

4K TV 4

K TV, also known as Ultra HD or UHD, is the next evolution in television picture quality. With a picture composed of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels more than 8 million in total - it has four times the amount of HD (high definition) sets. More pixels mean greater image clarity, finer detail, better texture and improved colour resolution. The net result is images that look incredibly lifelike and so detailed that at times they feel almost 3D - without the need for funny glasses! The first wave of 4K TVs were large – very large – with 84 inch panels and £20k price tags to match. Prices have now dropped along with screen size, and you can buy entry models for under £1,000 from all the big brands such as Samsung, Panasonic, LG and Sony. You can also pay many thousands of pounds for monster sets! Generally 4K TV screens are at least 40 inches. Some say you shouldn’t view on anything less than 55 inches. This is because the advantages of pixel-dense display diminish as the screen size shrinks. Big really is better! Similarly 4K TV is best viewed close up (ideally at a distance 1.5 x screen height), though practically most homes cannot accommodate viewing from closer than 2-3 metres. The technology for crystal-clear viewing may be with



us, but currently there are no 4K TV channels being broadcast. The main source of 4K content is the internet, from sites such as Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime Instant Video, and to successfully stream you would need a consistent broadband speed of at least 15Mbps. That said, UHD TVs do a remarkable job of up-scaling HD and standard definition pictures to 4K pixel count, so ‘everyday’ viewing such as Freeview HD TV, Blu-ray movies and DVDs can be boosted to near 4K picture quality. However be warned that some models are better at doing this than others. 4K technology is still work in progress. In future, it may also extend to higher frame rates (HFR), greater contrast and wider colour spectrum. The BBC has plans to offer 4K programming by 2016 but only in a limited form and although BT and Sky are rumoured to have plans, nothing has been finalised. It will be 23 years until most video content becomes available. So, if you want the absolute best that TV has to offer and don’t mind waiting to enjoy the full benefits of your 4K TV, then go ahead and buy now. But purchase from a top tier manufacture for the best chance of future-proofing your set and also make sure that you buy a model with two HDMI 2.0 ports.
