Dear Readers Welcome to the

Inside this month’s issue

August issue of In and Around Iver It was great to be back in business last month and successfully make our way through your doors again. It certainly wasn’t without its challenges, but like most businesses, we’ve had to learn to adapt and make things work. It’s great to see just how resilient and creative many people have been when it comes to finding ways to keep running and offer their services. Indeed, I think for a lot of us, the lockdown period allowed time for planning and improving things, as for once we weren’t caught up in the day to day general operations. Time is a valuable asset and whilst effectively being forced to stop working for three months was far from ideal, I personally am grateful for the once in a lifetime break that it provided and a pared down, simpler way of living for a while. Retirement has become just that little bit more enticing. On the downside, it looks like no Summer holidays abroad for us this year, so I’ll just have to spend more time enjoying my garden and as many barbeques as possible. Here’s wishing you all a safe and happy August! Until next month

Bathurst Walk East/ Bathurst Close We need a volunteer to take on the role of road warden. Please contact us to discuss what is involved.

Link Park and Thorney Sidings The owners of this site have made an informal proposal to Bucks Council and Hillingdon to convert the entire site into a data centre thus displacing the current users. It is by no means certain that that this is the real intention judging by the answers that were given to various questions that were put to them. They shortly intend to leaflet all adjoining properties with a description of their proposal to obtain community support prior to making a formal application.

Neighborhood Plan RPRA have recently been co-opted to participate in the creation of the Iver Parish Neighborhood plan. When complete this will be subjected to a referendum of everyone in the Parish. If adopted, then it will give the planning authority a framework to judge future planning applications upon.
