Dear Readers Welcome to the
Inside this month’s issue
February issue of In and Around Iver Well, having got Blue Monday out of the way last month, which I’m glad to say didn’t manage to affect my good mood that day, my happy demeanour continues as we get closer to my beloved Springtime and warmer weather. In fact, I caught myself on google hunting for flip flops the other day and had to swiftly reign myself in, given socks and central heating aren’t going anywhere just yet! It may still be Winter, but February does have its merits. Valentines Day is always a good excuse for a few vinos and a slap up meal and Tuesday 25th will be time to get the batter mix going and see how many pancakes I can stick to the ceiling this year. Sadly, I’ve finally exhausted the surplus of mince pies from Christmas, so pancake day is yet another excuse to push the notion of starting a diet forward til next month. Meanwhile, back in the office, this month has been busy and any energy reserves made over the xmas break have swiftly been used up. Is it too early to be thinking about holidays? Better still, retirement? Oh well! With neither of those being imminent, We’d better crack on with the next issue. Onwards and Upwards! Until next month .Angela & Sammy

B&M Care: A New Vision for Person-Centred Dementia Care works within a framework that combines theory and practice to instil an innovative model of care where feelings, enablement, and the essence of ‘connectedness’ are at the forefront of its vision.
The past decade has seen the term ‘person-centred care’ exert considerable influence on the policy, practice and academic literatures within the care sector, so much so that this dementia ‘watchword’ has reflected an emergence of new approaches to delivering highly individualised care.
Developed by B&M Care Dementia Specialist Caroline Inch (BSc (Hons) Dementia Studies) alongside Training Manager Elaine Thorpe, the programme has been delivered to each B&M Care Home, including White Plains on Ti l ehous e Lane, Denh a m (pictured). Upon completion, each member of B&M Care staff can now better facilitate and sustain positive change within a home’s dementia environment – a strategy that compliments the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering the highest quality of dementia care.
autonomy when making day-today decisions. “We learn and evolve by what we do, and with this innovative dementia-specific change programme, B&M Care will sustain its position as a front runner within the field of specialist dementia care,” commented Caroline Inch.

Station Car Park and Parking Restrictions
The expected completion date for the station car park has now slipped again towards the end of this year. In recognition of the frustration this causes to residents and business owners a meeting of everyone involved was held in January to devise an alternative, albeit temporary, alleviation of the problem of commuter parking. By the time you read this, a temporary parking ban should be in place along parts of Bathurst Walk and also on some particularly dangerous cross-road corners. This will be reviewed as matters progress.
Heathrow
We have now made a formal request to Heathrow to be included in their property compensation scheme. Our reasoning for this is that they have announced that Stanwell Moor is being included which experiences similar disturbance to ourselves. We have copied our new MP. Jo Morrissey, in with this and are awaiting Heathrow’s response.
Iver Station
The operators of the station, MTR, have indicated that they wish to include community features at the station. One idea being mooted is to have a bookshelf of donated books for people to take on their journeys. We are liaising with Iver Community Libraries to help with this.
CCTV Project
At the moment this is currently being run almost single-handedly. Since its inception 8 requests for data have been received from the police in connection with local crimes and 5 responses have resulted in useful intelligence being given. We desperately need more volunteers to come forward

who could handle the odd request as they come in. If you may be interested in lending a hand from time to time, then please use the feedback form on our website. We will then arrange to contact you and let you know more about what is involved.
Syke Ings
A warm welcome to Stafford Salt who has volunteered to take on the role of road warden for Syke Ings.
Bathurst Walk East/ Bathurst Close
We need a volunteer to take on the role of road warden. Please contact us to discuss what is involved.
Annual General Meeting
This has now been scheduled for Tuesday April 18 at the Sports Club at 7:30pm.
Subscriptions
As well as accepting cash or cheques as before, our website also allows for on-line subscription payments. Our current financial year ends on March 31st, 2020.
