As I delved into another issue of International Property & Travel, it struck me how many amazing places there are around the globe to discover. While the dynamic ways of life have been the focal point of planners and architects in order to help human solace and wellbeing, recent times have shown that these publicly coveted facilities might not always be accessible. The design herein revolved around a side garden that rendered a u-shape plan in all of the floors. This very u-shape helped the garden play the role of the heart of the house, where light could penetrate at all times, view is maintained, and privacy in control. As the strenuous design process went through the outbreak of COVID-19, the design unfolded to include all kinds of activities, in case normal work life never resumed. A variety of textures, trends, and colours were blended in order to achieve a balanced common ground where industrial meets contemporary. rt Fund's 2022 Museum of the Year, Firstsite in Colchester, has stepped up to its newly acquired status with an exhibition that explores the interwoven stories of slavery, consumerism, luxury goods and empire through the history of Indian textiles. The internationally renowned Singh Twins focus on the relationship between Britain and India, exploring the current debates around the legacy of colonial Empire, embracing themes such as ethical trade, consumerism and racism. Their handpainted works build on the tradition of the Indian miniature, the most recent combining hand-painting techniques with digitally created imagery. This exhibition features two bodies of work from their Slaves of Fashion series. Videos of the work in progress add a further dimension to the creations. The digital artworks use themes relating to India’s textile industry. All include portraits of historical figures: Indigo: The Colour of India, features an image of the Mughal Queen, Mumtaz Mahal wearing jeans. Indigo, sometimes called 'blue gold' was highly prized as a dye.
