SERENITY IN THE CITY

Jackie Rose Events conceived this elegant, floral-rich design, which is set in the luxurious event space of The Conservatory at One Sansome in the heart of San Francisco. The building was designed in 1910 by Beaux Arts architect Albert Pissis and fully restored as a luxury venue in 2023. The Conservatory opened its doors last spring to reveal a grand space flooded with light from a soaring glass atrium. Following the theme of an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, the design team curated the details to bring the beauty of the outdoors within. “Our focus was to create a romantic and contemporary atmosphere, with an emphasis on elevated elegance,” says Rose. Neutral summer tones with hints of coral and lavender bring warmth and dimension to the Conservatory’s architecture, such as the grand arches and elegant marble floors. Every element, from the hand-painted bar design to the effortlessly curated florals and the whimsical cake, reflects the serenity of nature and creates a graceful, light-filled tableau.

SKETCHED TO PERFECTION

The design for Priscilla and Jeffrey’s Terranea nuptials was an ode to their love and lives. The couple first met in England at a product conference for Skechers footwear. Priscilla was modeling shoes, and Jeffrey had flown in from Skechers’ Los Angeles head office to give a presentation to the European countries. Like a scene from a movie, it was love at first sight. The two dated for several years before tying the knot in a celebration that beautifully blended their Chinese and Jewish cultures. “I intentionally integrated elements of their love story into their wedding day,” says their planner, Jessica Valenzuela of Not Jess A Planner. Their shoe story was subtly woven into the fabric of their day. For example, the seating chart showcased the Los Angeles and London skylines, connected by a heart made from shoelaces. The couple also included custom shoe-shaped cookies with their monogram “J&P” as wedding favors. Equally as important as their love story were their heritages. Valenzuela honored these aspects with small but powerful details, such as their invitation suite and wedding cake, which showcased the double happiness symbol, popularly displayed at Chinese weddings. —Lara Burnap

Deciding to forgo tradition, Sang Park and Alek Juretic got ready together on the morning of their San Francisco celebration. “The wedding day was our special day, and we wanted to spend it together from start to finish,” Sang says. “We are lovers, but also best friends, and we wanted to share every minute of that day with each other.” Sang and Alek chose to focus on the aspects that would make them happy. One of those details was the stunning modern setting they chose. It isn’t a typical wedding venue, but rather a private residence owned by a close friend with whom Alek’s construction

company worked to build. Even the couple’s attire featured interesting twists, such as the stylish hat the groom sported and the chic Jacquemus dress worn by the bride. Sang walked down the aisle, accompanied by both her parents, to the song “On Melancholy Hill” by the Gorillaz, and the couple’s first kiss as husband and wife was followed by “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles. An alfresco dining experience overlooking the mountains and with live music and bartending by a few vendor friends was the perfect ending to their effortlessly cool wedding day. —Sydney Stevens

Founded by the mystical mother-daughter duo of Carol Ritter and Sacha Jarmon, Love Saro is devoted to designing one-ofa-kind, handmade jewelry with love and purpose. Jarmon, who worked in fashion houses in New York and Paris, likens the process to a custom tattoo experience, but with precious metals and stones. The process begins with setting an intention, which Love Saro’s team helps each client explore through the energy of stones, numerology and symbology. Next, choose your necklace or bracelet from a dazzling array of more than 50 styles of sterling silver and solid 14K yellow gold chains and genuine stones; gem choices range from moonstone and tanzanite to sapphires and diamonds. Jarmon encourages clients to mix metals and include specific stones to enhance energy or provide meaning. Customization is completely open to each person’s unique story. For example, Jarmon recommends couples exchange chain link pieces to symbolize their union. Love Saro turns the final step of the process into a ceremonial experience by asking guests to close their eyes and focus on their intention while sacred palo santo is burned. And then, with a flash of the chain welder, the promise is sealed. 7 WAYS TO INCORPORATE CULTURE INTO YOUR DAY

Erika Bowers of Erika’s Elegance Weddings and Events has been a wedding planner for more than 20 years in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. She is especially adept at incorporating culture and traditions into weddings. “Many of my clients come from diverse cultures,” says Bowers, “and I get so excited when they incorporate cultural elements.” Here are seven of her favorite ways to honor her clients’ heritages.

FASHION FORWARD

One of the most common ways to incorporate culture is through fashion. Many modern brides often choose to wear a bridal gown for part of the event and then change into traditional attire for another part of the celebration. For example, Bowers often has brides who wear a wedding gown for their ceremony and then for the reception, they change into traditional wear, such as an ao dai or a hanbok. Fabric and color are another creative way to instill cultural style into an event, whether it’s by setting a dress code or encouraging guests to wear their traditional garb.

A custom gele, designed by one of Bowers’ Nigerian clients. The gele is a head tie worn primarily by women in Nigeria and West Africa. Tying the gele requires various specific techniques, so Bowers helped the bride find the ideal vendor. “It was beautiful seeing all the women send in pictures of how they wanted their gele tied,” says Bowers.

THE BEST ACCESSORY

Cultural jewelry is a meaningful way to incorporate tradition, symbolism and personal history, notes Bowers. “If the couple comes from different cultural backgrounds, incorporating jewelry from both sides can be a way to honor and celebrate each other’s heritage and creates a unique blend of tradition and symbolism,” she says.

DINING OUT

“Food and desserts are always a fantastic experience,” says Bowers. “Sharing foods that are home to you will put a smile on your guest’s face!” If this is a key feature in your planning, be sure to choose a venue that allows an outside caterer or one that is proficient in your cuisine. And keep in mind that not all guests have an adventurous palate. “For our Nigerian wedding, we had an authentic dinner of jollof rice, egusi soup, pounded yams, moi-moi, puffpuff, meat pies and fried plantains, as well as a more traditional seafood meal,” says Bowers. If dinner isn’t “on the table,” think about having a dessert table of your country’s specialties or create parting favors of your favorite treats.

BY DESIGN

Bring the country into your design! This can be done in a variety of ways, such as incorporating texture, color, fabrics, florals and more. “When we designed our Nigerian wedding, we included elements such as traditional wooden bowls for the florals and décor accents, and traditional fabric on the gift table,” says Bowers. “We also pulled in other wooden textures, greenery and regal elements.” And don’t forget the entertainment! Dancers or musicians are a winning way to incorporate culture and engage your guests.

Staying true to Nigerian tradition, this design ensured that a place had been created in which the groom could hide from his bride during the igba nkwu nwanyi ceremony. In this ceremony, the bride carries wine while searching for her husband-to-be. Upon finding him, she offers him the wine, which he accepts by taking a drink.

THE MORE YOU KNOW! Consider hiring a speaker who is versed in the country’s traditions to educate guests, whether it be explaining balancing bread on your shoulders at an Armenian reception or encouraging everyone to take part in the famed money dance (also known as the dollar dance and the apron dance). Signage is another way to keep guests informed of unique traditions, says Bowers. “The Nigerian wedding was filled with important symbols and traditions, such as the aso-ebi, kola nut, the dowry, money spray, the bank and palm wine ... and many were subtle, so we created signage in various areas of the celebration so that guests could learn more.”

Sharing a favorite food or beverage is an enjoyable way to incorporate your home.

CEREMONIAL MOMENTS

Incorporating traditions from their home country is important to many couples. Take, for example, the wedding lasso in Latino nuptials. This wreath of rosary beads or flowers is draped around the couple’s shoulders in a figure eight to mimic the infinity sign, symbolizing eternity.

BRIDGE THE DISTANCE

Including family is a must, but often members are not able to make the trip across the world. However, if we learned one thing during the pandemic, it’s that technology is a great alternative to attending in person. And you can make it a party that also incorporates traditions from afar. “In our Nigerian wedding, they had a ceremony in their hometown village that started the morning of the celebration that was cast over Zoom,” says Bowers. Meanwhile, the bride, the groom and the guests were all sent links to experience the beginning of their nuptial celebration.

SEASON OF CHANGE

THE PROS’ GUIDE TO CHANGING YOUR LAST NAME AFTER THE WEDDING

While planning the big day, your focus is mainly on event details, guest list and your ensemble. However, for anyone who has decided to change their name post-wedding, the “adventure” continues long after the vendors have been tipped and the relatives have departed. Going into the name change process for the first time, many newlyweds (understandably) have no idea what to expect. Enter Colie Christensen, founder of NewlyNamed, a name change kit service designed to make officiating your new last name a breeze.

It’s important to begin by updating your name with the Social Security Administration (SSA) by filling out Form SS-5, the application for a new social security card (can be done by mail or online). This step is foundational because your name officially and legally changes after it’s updated with the SSA and the IRS, making it possible to change your name everywhere else. However, it’s important to mention that even though your name is changed in the SSA’s system, you’ll still need to update it everywhere else to match.

“Once your name is updated with the SSA, other entities can reference it to confirm your new legal name,” explains Colie. This sets the stage for the next steps in the name change process. After updating your name with the SSA, the following locations typically require attention:

IRS: Changing your name with SSA will update your name with the Internal Revenue Service, however, it’s pertinent to note that you should wait about 10-14 days after you change your name with the SSA to file your tax return!

U.S. PASSPORT: Apply for a new passport with your updated name. This usually requires submitting Form DS-11 along with supporting documents like your marriage certificate and current passport.

DRIVER’S LICENSE: Complete the online application at dmv.ca.gov . Upon completion, make an appointment at the DMV. You will also need to bring your current license or ID, marriage certificate, proof of residency and, potentially, proof of name and date of birth. See the website for details.

VOTER REGISTRATION: In California, you’ll need to re-register to vote under your new name. Get started at registertovote.ca.gov

VEHICLE TITLE REGISTRATION: If you have the title, you can write or type your new name above the old name and fill out Section F of the REG 256 form. If you don’t have the title, you’ll need to fill out Section F of REG 256 and complete form 227, along with evidence of your vehicle’s ownership and be prepared to pay a fee. After completing your forms, bring them or mail them to the DMV (note: you’ll have to come in person if you do not have the current title). Get all the details of the process at dmv.ca.gov

PROFESSIONAL LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: If you hold any professional licenses or certifications, such as a nursing license or teaching certificate, notify the issuing authority of your name change.

PERSONAL ACCOUNTS: Update your name with all personal accounts, including banks, credit unions, credit cards, investment accounts, frequent flyer programs and travel programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry.

Founded by Trixie Mattel, season-three winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” and a pop culture icon, the property stands proudly as a beacon of retro charm, featuring themed rooms and a luxurious pool area. Inspired by the elegance of Old Hollywood and the spirit of Palm Springs, Frank Shaver-Burgess, owner and lead planner of Events by Frank, crafted this lively, maximalist wedding design. Drawn from the glam aesthetic of drag performers, jewel tones and soft pink hues form a unique color palette that embodies the essence of Palm Springs. Inspired by the iconic beauty of both South Asian and English gardens, this design, nestled in the serene garden house at Filoli, is a beautiful blending of cultures. European-style garden roses and tulips contrast pleasingly with structural South Asian varieties of flora such as palms and orchids, with arrangements layered throughout the design. Among the unusual design attributes are the mingling of floral arrangements among the ceremony seating and the verdant reception table, which features a curving floral table runner that weaves along the table and overflows to the ground. Delicate leaf-embellished linens are layered with patterned Juliska plates, which are topped with ornate menus that feature a tasseled, hand-carved figure of Ganesha. The bride’s stylish white henna incorporates blooms from both cultures and appears as if it’s an extension of her gown. “The white henna is a beautiful alternative for brides who want to give a nod to their Indian cultural heritage while staying within a white color scheme,” says Rebecca Foster of Indigo Event Design.

Photographer Katie Ruther captured Erika and Matthew on their first anniversary at a heartfelt photo shoot. The couple donned their wedding attire and headed to the Santa Monica Mountains to document the first year of their lives together. “When we took photos of their love that day, remembering their wedding vows not too long ago, I was overwhelmed in every sense of the way,” says Ruther. “The love between them, the way they look at each other, the warmth in their touch, the mountains they’ve overcome, everything moved me. We stayed at this spot as long as possible before the sun disappeared behind the mountain, and it was one of the most sacred evenings I’ve had.”

Blair and Seth Owen’s wedding was an extravagant four-day weekend affair in Calistoga that had beautiful, personal details woven throughout. The impeccable design was a collaboration between RSBP Events and Cole Drake Events. The extended celebration began with an aprés-ski party at Tamber Bey Vineyards, followed the next evening by a wine-tasting rehearsal dinner at the Four Seasons Napa Valley. For the main event, the couple tied the knot at Double R Ranch, a beautiful property surrounded by acres of vineyards and horse stables. The bride, who plays polo, made a grand entrance by riding in on her beloved horse, Mikey, and then walking down the floral-lined aisle while a gospel choir sang. The elegant equestrian theme continued in the details, such as the ceremony program, the escort card wall, menu cards and the hit of the reception: a luxurious Hermès photo booth. Gathered along winding tables filled with abundant floral centerpieces, guests dined on filet mignon and endless espresso martinis. To cap off the festivities, the bride’s family surprised the couple with a spectacular drone light show—which even included images of Blair’s dog, Ralphie.

Lambeth cakes, named after their creator, Joseph Lambeth, were all the rage when they first graced the wedding scene in the 1930s. The artistic technique features intricately piped royal icing details that range from scrolls and garlands to dots and ribbons, exquisitely layered to create depth and beauty. Four of California Wedding Day ’s Best of 2024 finalists bring this vintage style into the 21st century.

Lelé Pâtisserie

Based in sunny Santa Barbara, chef Lele Miranda of Lelé Pâtisserie (@lelepatisserie) was introduced to the Lambeth style of piping at The French Pastry School in Chicago. “I instantly fell in love,” says Miranda. “The style is so versatile and fun, with all the different textures and colors. I hope it’s a trend that sticks around because I’m not ready to give it up. I never will!” Miranda’s beauty in blue is a single, tall-tiered cake that perfectly exhibits stunning simplicity. Lelé Pâtisserie also bakes heart-shaped Lambeth cakes that are perfect for adorning with text, such as “Just Married” or a couple’s monogram in royal icing.

CocoaBerry Cake Co.

With sugar as her medium, Ioana Miller of CocoaBerry Cake Co. (@cocoaberrycakeco) in Orange County redefines the Lambeth cake with her artistic attention to detail and exquisite layering. Frosted in a mauve-tinted Swiss meringue buttercream, this confection’s luxurious look is heightened by candied pearls and rose-gold-dusted cherries.

Nicole Bakes Cakes

It’s safe to say that love is the secret ingredient in the confections created by Nicole Redd-McIntosh of Nicole Bakes Cakes (@nicolebakescakes) in Los Angeles. Redd-McIntosh dreams up designs that are inspired by her couples, their love stories and everything pretty. This three-tiered vision, with layers of wreaths with ruffles and bows, is an ode to romances of yore that’s been given a twist of modernity.

Laura Marie Cakes

Temecula’s Laura Westhoven of Laura Marie Cakes (@lauramariecakes) is known for her sculptural cakes, but her passion lies in the delicate flowers created with a palette knife. “I’ll adapt to trends but bring my own technique to the design,” says Westhoven. She brings a delicacy to this sweet two-tiered cake with the addition of a Lambeth-piped garland paired with her signature florals in Swiss meringue buttercream.

Salty sea air and the sun’s soft glow beyond the mist are the muses in this coastal wedding design. The shores and cliffs of Carmel-by-the-Sea, a quaint Europeaninspired town, epitomize this sought-after locale for lovers around the world, making the spot idyllic for an intimate affair. The serene design captures the essence of love’s journey, where the power and tranquility of the ocean serve as timeless symbols of unity.

A muted neutral-tone palette with elements of pale blue—a shade mirrored in some of the lush blooms in the bride’s overflowing bouquet—graces romantic stationery, inviting loved ones to an intimate occasion in a breathtakingly beautiful place.

The bride’s satin sheath gown with slightly puffed illusion sleeves evokes old-world elegance, while her groom’s light and airy suit perfectly embodies the setting. The two walk down an aisle lined with modern vases and meet at a floral-imbued altar that showcases different shades of blue in bunches of delphiniums and blooms of hydrangea bursting forth from the sand. The Pacific Ocean’s crashing waves act as a backdrop and the soundtrack to heartfelt vows as guests watch the scene unfold.

Set on the sand, tables adorned with golden candelabra and blooms in pale hues of orange, blush, yellow and ivory invite guests to dine alfresco. Each detail, from the sea-inspired custom menus to the wicker chairs, pays homage to the beauty of the ocean. Lilac sand greenery add cool tones to the tablescape, while glass and ceramic elements contribute modernity and style. As guests dine, our bride and groom enjoy a private moment to revel in their newlywed status.

The setting sun casts each detail of the day in a dreamy light, reflecting the peach hues and petal pinks of the design and with its rays bouncing off crystal-clear glassware. Guests grab slices of wedding cake as they gather to toast the couple and celebrate dusk’s arrival on the shore.

Our hope was that this design not only showcases the UNDENIABLE elegance of nature, but also celebrates AUTHENTICITY .

Inspired by the beauty and serenity of an outdoor Southern California garden, Jezyrose Boediarto of Layunin Events teamed up with Sarah Kuhlberg of Colette’s Catering and Ebell of Santa Ana to bring this romantic vision to life. The invitations set the tone with earthy color palette of white, tan and green, with the flowers bringing in warm hues of peach, pink and yellow. The organically designed florals evoke the charm of an elegant garden with florals tucked into neutral-toned ceramic pots.

The centerpieces incorporate moss and a whimsical arrangement of white nestled with warm hues. With an eye to common textures found in a garden, the tabletop is decorated with ceramic pot table numbers, rattan placemats and herbaccented menus alongside recycled glassware, stoneware plates, wooden flatware and bistro wood chairs.

From the outset, Jamie and Chris knew they wanted their wedding to reflect their mutual love for horse riding, an activity that had not only brought them closer together but also had become a cornerstone of their relationship. Drawing inspiration from Jamie’s favorite film, My Fair Lady, they designed a day on which old-world elegance met modern romance, with equestrian subtleties woven throughout. The couple sought an ambiance reminiscent of a leisurely stroll or a spirited trot along the shore, incorporating rich textures of leather and grasses, warm woods and soft, ruffly florals. Their vision came to life in a beautifully curated setting in which masculine met feminine in perfect harmony, with thoughtfully designed tables inviting guests to gather and celebrate. As the day unfolded, every detail, from the escort wall adorned with leather cards and gold horse bits to the unique cocktail names, like the Galloping Gimlet, echoed Jamie and Chris’ story and interests. The natural wood chargers, taupe dinner plates and terra-cotta salad plates set against a backdrop of lush greenery and wild, textural blooms created an enchanting scene that was both elegant and inviting. Even the delectable four-tiered ube cake was positioned beautifully on a table, adorned with leather accents and fresh florals. Forming a friendship when they were 12 years old, Inga Keshishyan and Sahak Keshishyan began a relationship that has evolved into a beautiful romance over time. Their strong bond led to a confident proposal by Sahak, who lovingly placed a ring on Inga’s finger while stating, “You’re going to marry me.” In keeping with their shared Armenian heritage, their ceremony was held at an Armenian church, where they observed their culture’s religious customs and traditions, such as including their knkahayr, (“godfather”), who played a key role in the ceremony by being a mentor to the couple during the wedding and afterward, into their marriage. Initially intending to celebrate their nuptials in Lake Como, Italy, Sahak and Inga instead chose the Italian-villa-inspired Hummingbird Nest Ranch for their reception, allowing their guests to attend closer to home. The event design complemented the venue’s old-world charm with lush floral arrangements, arches draped in greenery and an abundance of white roses. Sparkling crystal chandeliers hung overhead from trees, while gorgeous lit candles created a romantic ambiance. During the celebration, other cultural traditions were followed, including the shabash, a custom in which attendees throw money to the couple as they dance; and a performance by Armenian singer Ara Martirosyan—who has since passed away—making the celebration even more memorable. Chico Castillo, “The Gipsy,” also gave a lively performance at the party, turning the dance floor into a scene of unforgettable celebration. —Laura Cross

This chromatic harmony mirrored the couple’s wish for a jubilant yet refined celebration. The design tableau—from the tranquil blue linens and pastel blooms to the plush peach velvet chairs and the fairy lights twinkling above the lily pond—evinced an enchanting aesthetic. As the moon’s reflection glimmered on the lily pond, Kathryn and Hunter shared a serene moment at their exquisitely decorated sweetheart table. Kirie Stromberg and Noah Schechter celebrated their wedding last November at The Ebell of Los Angeles. The couple’s rabbi performed the ceremony underneath a lush floral chuppah, complete with hanging persimmons and pomegranates. These fruits served as symbols of Kirie’s Japanese roots and Noah’s Jewish culture, respectively, and created memories of their nuptials that will last forever. During the ceremony, two wine glasses belonging to Noah’s grandparents were used, marking the importance of family and tradition. Afterward, guests were treated to a cocktail hour in the garden area, where they enjoyed traditional Jewish klezmer music before entering a majestic ballroom inside the venue for the reception. The celebration’s design was itself a celebration—of bright colors, magenta, bright oranges, gold and green, instilling the event with the vibrancy of Southern California style. The interior of The Ebell provided a vintage aesthetic, which embodies the taste and style of the couple, as Noah works in the television industry. For her bridal look, Kirie wore an off-the-shoulder gown by Lihi Hod together with a full-length veil; her bridesmaids wore dresses that suited their individual tastes. During the reception, guests joyfully danced to an 11-piece band, at one point dancing the hora, whereupon they lifted Kirie and Noah, seated in chairs, into the air to celebrate and express their joy. —Laura Cross

Hanna Mahoney and Matt Dugoni envisioned classic romance as the key element of their day at Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection, in Napa Valley. The elegance of springtime was their source of inspiration, a theme that was reflected in the delicate shades of ivory, cream and soft blush together with lush and blooming florals swathed in greenery. Hanna tied the knot in a strapless ballgown with floral embellishments and a traditional silhouette that was modernized with an eye-catchingly high leg slit. Dinner took place in the Glasshouse Barn at Stanly Ranch, which hosted a glorious reception. “We wanted to soften up the space by bringing in a mixture of long tables and rounds draped with a clean velvet ivory linen, topped with a mixture of white ceramic and glass, white flowers and greenery. A collection of neutral-toned taper candles created a warm glow and discreetly incorporated the color palette,” says wedding planner Jacqueline Hallgarth. The sweetest moment of the evening was after the guests had departed when the newlyweds sneaked back into the Glasshouse Barn for one last private dance. —Emily Sweet

The ballroom reception included abundant florals and greenery, a black-and-white checkered dance floor and a sweetheart table that took center stage beneath a verdant arch and suspended neon sign reading “The DeGruchys.” Guests embraced the evening’s lively atmosphere as the DJ energized the room; a cigar bar, complete with an expert roller, brought a distinctive touch to the festivities. A vintage car, flown in for the grand exit to honor the groom’s Canadian heritage, added a nostalgic and personal element to the celebration. Despite only having three dates before the world shut down, their connection thrived during months of isolation, ultimately culminating in a proposal. Compelled by a desire to create a mini-vacation for their guests, the couple chose the Avalon Hotel in Palm Springs as their wedding destination. On the lush lawn, the ceremony revealed a wedding design that seamlessly blended the iconic midcentury modern style with a whimsical garden aesthetic. A palette dominated by shades of navy and blush was accented with vibrant pops of pink, blue and yellow. Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory,” performed by a string quartet, accompanied the bride down the aisle, providing a heartfelt exchange of handwritten vows. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delightful poolside cocktail hour featuring tasty drinks and bites, which was made even more enjoyable by a surprise performance by the Aqualillies, a professional synchronized swimming/dance company. Creatively displayed key chain escort cards made for an effortless transition of guests to a seated dinner reception beneath a canopy of twinkling lights in a tree-lined courtyard. Three long tables adorned with navy linens, an abundance of flowers and a sea of candlelight created a romantic alfresco ambiance. As dinner concluded, guests were ushered into the ballroom, where the fun got underway. From a choreographed first dance to a curated dessert bar, a board game lounge and a late-night pizza truck, the celebration was filled with unforgettable moments that ended on a deliciously satisfying note. —Laura Cross

Their quest for the perfect venue led them to Redbird, a unique downtown venue with spaces suited to Iris’ Catholic roots and Nathan’s familial bird, the cardinal. The vibrant gardens and serene olive trees promised a slice of a midsummer night’s dream unfolding to the beat of the city’s vibrant pulse. Here, they envisioned their loved ones savoring the zest of Aperol spritzers and indulging in the fresh flavors of Californian cuisine, all while humming along to the songs of Frank Sinatra and Andrea Bocelli. What could be more romantic? The couple’s creative vision for the wedding didn’t stop at the venue; it extended to every detail, including the table settings, which harmonized with the venue’s natural beauty while standing out with distinctive elegance. In a nod to where the couple met and inspired by the sophisticated simplicity of Japanese ikebana, the bride chose floral arrangements that echoed the rainy hues of an East Coast thunderstorm. Including purple flowers and whimsical vines like honeysuckle presented a unique visual element and filled the air with a bewitching fragrance. The groom brought a personal touch to the ambiance with his expertise in movie-prop design, crafted spiraling table numbers through 3D printing, blending clear and purple hues to complement the color palette. Six months later, they reconnected on Tinder, and their relationship flourished, culminating in Noah’s proposal in a picturesque setting during a weekend retreat in Temecula. Their intimate wedding, attended by 100 of their closest friends and family members, harmoniously blended Sara’s Mexican heritage and Noah’s Jewish roots. The couple’s vision of an elegant garden party was brought to fruition in an event that showcased vibrant blooms and verdant accents. Beneath a colorful chuppah, the couple exchanged vows in a ceremony that seamlessly blended English, Latino and Hebrew elements. As the ceremony concluded, a mariachi band accompanied guests in joyous celebration of the newlyweds. Embracing the pair’s love for Bravo’s “Below Deck” reality TV series, they paid homage to the show’s popular drink during cocktail hour, offering the “Espresso My Love Martini” as one of their signature cocktails. Their beloved dog, Luna, though absent, was honored through details such as cocktail signage, napkins, photo booth props and the cake topper. The fiesta theme carried into dinner with an alfresco reception that featured a mix of long and round tables adorned with vibrant florals and a custom papel picado inscribed with “Sara & Noah” and “Amor.” The mariachi band pulled guests onto the dance floor, infusing the event with energy during a lively hora.
