It’s hardly a surprise that here at Oregon Bride , we are in love with love. Every day, I open my inbox to a flood of emails recounting the happiest of days. Not a bad job, right? I do count myself as one of the lucky ones who truly loves their job. (See? We’re back to love again!) So, when it comes to creating the magazine, I’m often overwhelmed by the urge to share every story, every image and every moment of the weddings submitted. This issue is filled with inspiration, from beautiful real weddings (page 65) to discovering new venues (page 26) and finding the perfect details (pages 18 and 22).
One of the highlights of creating this issue was collaborating with some of the loveliest vendors. I had the good fortune to work with wonderful, creative souls on our editorial features this issue, including Ashley Lachney of Alston Mayger Events and Ellie Parker of E. Ann Photography, both of whom worked alongside me on our catering feature (page 38). And after years of exchanging emails (as is often the case!) with photographer Casi Yost, it was amazing to collaborate with her at White Aspen Creative in Bend for our floral story, “Lavender Haze” (page 32) and for our dreamy cover. The crew included the delightful team from Amanda Claire & Co. and the spunkiest makeup artist Bend has to offer, Kate Hana. Morgan Westerberg-Jackson of Blomstra Floral Co. brought her magical touch with blooms to the occasion—wait until you see her fresh floral earrings! There is so much more packed into these pages, and I hope each and every reader will find something to love.

Anyone in love can attest to the truth of the cliché “It’s the little things that count.” Consider the small gesture of pouring your partner a cup of coffee every morning, taking the dog for a walk, or your love presenting you with a shiny ring. And for us here at Oregon Bride , it’s no different. Our little things are working with our partners to showcase what the wedding industry does best: the work our partners are proud of and the love stories of each big day. Being a part of this team, hustling behind the scenes and highlighting this community fill my glass to the brim.
When it comes to your pretty little things, everything from the engagement bling to boutonnieres is on your must-have list. And we know, because for a combined 22 years, Lara and I have swooned, snapped and printed photos of every eye-catching detail we can find. Bear in mind that every newlywed has their preferred splurge; for some, it’s a craft cocktail; for others, it’s the escort cards or maybe a jaw-dropping arch. But the one thing all those splurges have in common? The priceless memories they help to create.
Our dainty florals feature, photographed at White Aspen Creative in Bend, is lush with unique details from Blomstra Floral Co. to inspire your own vision for tying the knot. Believe it or not, it wasn’t just the garb and flowers competing for full-page spreads. The design team at Alston Mayger Events and the catering teams from The Hive Catering Co., Vibrant Table Catering & Events and Devil’s Food Catering wowed us by putting local ingredients first, and then complementing those dishes with beautiful place cards, delightful florals and lux rentals.
We’ve got invitation suites as individual as you are, shoes to finish your look, plus urban venues to explore in downtown Portland. Exhausted? Do yourself a favor and flip to page 28 for a few ways to get some R&R after your big day.
Plan away and be sure to share with us as you do @oregonbridemag.
Big hugs, and congratulations on your engagement!

Floriographer Morgan Westerberg-Jackson of Blomstra Floral Co. is fluent in the language of flowers, a skill that is beautifully translated in her work. Each stem and color of bloom is selected with intention when she designs a bouquet or arrangement. “The basis of the language of flowers is the idea that each flower contains a certain energetic frequency that can be felt by those who handle it,” she says. For example, this dainty bouquet in hues of purple and blue carries a meaningful message promoting peace, serenity and connectedness. “I think the feeling of serenity during a wedding would be nice because the day moves so quickly,” Westerberg-Jackson notes. “Taking a moment to slow down is nice, and the energy these flowers carry would encourage that feeling.” See more on page 32. So long, seafoam. When it came to this stunning styled elopement at Hug Point State Park near Seaside, Oregon, the creative team went all in on a green palette from start to finish. The inspiration? This is as green as it gets, with an homage to the couple’s love of cannabis. Marijuana leaves were woven throughout the design scheme, from sitting atop the matte black place settings to adorning the darling miniature three-tiered cake. The sweetheart table was accented with hunter green linens, square wood chargers, ethereal floral arrangements, and gold goblets and flatware. Particularly charming was the low table that allowed the couple to cozy up with their toes still in the sand. Nestled around the sweetheart table and private lounge space, arrangements of greenery were rooted directly into the sand, as if they had sprouted from the ground. Bold green eyeshadow, a smart green suit and a striking emerald bouquet were just some of the details that perfected the theme. The couple ended the day on a high note—smoking gold-wrapped joints. —Chelsea

When envisioning a ’70s-inspired design, the team at Your Perfect Bridesmaid originally went big, envisioning shag carpets and disco balls. But the designers ultimately decided that the bright, airy Arc Light in Oregon City called for a bit more subtlety—but certainly no lack of funkiness. To bring their ideas to life, they played with earthy, natural tones and a multitude of textures, including leather, velvet, faux fur, rattan, florals and terra-cotta. Taking the theme beyond décor, photographer Briana Morrison took Polaroids and flash photography in an homage to the flash style of the headlining decade. And what could be more fun than a getaway car? A 1978 Chevy G20 van served as the wheels for this affair, and a vintage faux fur coat added dramatic flair as the couple booked—no doubt on their way to boogie down at a rad disco.

The Hive Catering Co.’s newly opened Arc Light in Oregon City is quickly becoming the hottest spot for tying the knot. The building was built in 1922 and was home to the Oddfellows and Friedrich’s Hardware Store until the 1970s. The light-flooded space has been beautifully renovated with crisp wainscoting, unique lighting fixtures and Instagram-worthy bathrooms. Events spaces include a ballroom, cocktail lounge, grand hall and two furnished lounges—the Velvet Room and the Whiskey Room—which are ideal for wedding-day prep. The tasteful space is a blank slate that can be transformed for everything from a swag ’70s shindig to an elegant garden party. Best of all, top-notch catering is a done deal, with The Hive also serving as the Arc Light’s caterer.
Big weddings aren’t for everyone, thus the allure of eloping and keeping the day for the only two people that matter. Such was the case for Alexandra Szuhany and Megan Valarezo who planned their day, their way. “Honeymoon vibes” were the goal for their nuptials, so they planned things that they loved doing together, from getting artisanal desserts at Mike’s Ice Cream in Hood River to a hike that culminated in their ceremony with views for days—and not soul a sight. The Welches A-frame cabin in Mt. Hood delivered the perfect atmosphere they desired: LGBTQ friendly, stunning views and close to Portland. All the pieces fell into place, from the Scrabble board—a game they love to play—to their dinner at Mt. View Brewing, complete with beer, pizza and a view. After saying their vows, they indulged in the donuts they picked up earlier from Mikiko Mochi Donuts and cuddled on their new blanket from REI that showcased mountains and epic views, as a nod to their adventures ahead.

For Grace and Nick, who took an urban farming class together in college, it was inevitable that they would marry surrounded by nature. “The initial inspiration was a ’70s garden party,” bride Grace says. “We love color and didn’t want to limit ourselves to a few colors in our palette, so we chose all of them, especially ’70s-inspired colors—oranges, muted blues and greens.” She always dreamed of having guests feel like they stepped into a bountiful field of wildflowers. That vision was realized, with florals swathing nearly everything, from the unique ceremony installation to the overgrown bar front, the base of the seating chart and along the wooden reception tables. An 8-foot hoop of greenery hung above the dance floor, making a dramatic statement. “We wanted it to feel like an overgrown garden, no matter where you looked,” Grace notes. Edible flowers were sprinkled throughout the design: Guests were greeted with a flower-accented coupe glass of Champagne, and edible blooms brightened the dinner entrées and were lushly displayed on the jaw-dropping cake.

WE’VE GATHERED SEVEN DESTINATIONS THAT ARE CLOSE TO NATURE AND FILLED WITH ROMANCE, FROM FAR FLUNG BEACH DESTINATIONS TO DESERT GETAWAYS
ORIGINS BY MANTISOrigins by Mantis (originslodge.com) is a dr eam destination for couples who desire serenity, nature and adventure without sacrificing five-star luxury. The boutique lodge is nestled in Costa Rica’s northern rain forest on 111 acres of jungle overlooking the lush Upala Valley. The verdant grounds feature the intimate Laka-Tii Spa; an open-air yoga pavilion; six private luxury lodges featuring fire-heated plunge pools, handcrafted canopy beds and open-air bathrooms; as well as a stunning three-bedroom tree house, Villa Vertigo.
Foodies will delight in the fare at El Salto, located in the residential-style main lodge, which is also home to a peaceful infinity pool and 180-degree views of the valley and Lake Nicaragua. Michelin-starred chef Jean-Luc L’Hourre curates the menu daily, bringing his haute French take on laid-back Latin cuisine while using ingredients sourced from the estate’s extensive organic garden. Adventure seekers and nature lovers can partake in a wide range of experiences, such as a rain forest hike to the Oro Waterfall (keep your eyes open for sloths), horseback riding, farm tours, medicinal plant tours, lagoon fishing, birdwatching, nocturnal walks— all within the vast property.
Conservation and sustainability are the anchors of Origins. Consequently, no chemical pesticides are used (pack mosquito repellent!), the resort is nearly free of plastic, and the kitchen composts its food waste—and these are just a few of its green practices. The tranquil vibe of
Mother Nature lends itself beautifully to the lodge’s wellness practices. You can make your honeymoon even more memorable by designing a custom retreat that includes luxurious spa treatments and healing experiences, such as guided yoga and meditation practice, sound baths and breathwork sessions. There are also off-site experiences to consider, such as a visit to a butterfly sanctuary or rafting in nearby Tenorio Volcano National Park. Intimate weddings are an option at Origins as well, with ceremonies taking place in the main lodge or the yoga shambala, and receptions featuring a one-of-a-kind dinner created by chef L’Hourre.
If you’re craving that international vibe, but want to keep the flight short and sweet, there’s no better place than Cabo San Lucas. Rated the No. 1 all-inclusive resort in Mexico by Tripadvisor’s 2022 Travelers’ Choice Awards, the Grand Velas Los Cabos (@grandvelascabos) is the ideal oasis for
honeymooners, where they will find the luxury of choice and warm hospitality. The AAA Five Diamond resort reimagines the all-inclusive experience, providing guests with amazing restaurants (one with a two-Michelin-star chef at the helm), a luxurious 35,000-square-foot spa and first-class accommodations, such as the Grand Class Suite, with its own private plunge pool. For honeymooners, there is no shortage of activities to indulge in—from couples massages and love rituals to the Wine Lovers’ Experience and an option to charter the property’s very own 55-foot Bella yacht to cruise the azure waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Stay close to home but feel like you are a million miles away at Terranea Resort (@terranearesort) in Palos Verdes. Perched atop dramatic cliffs overlooking a protected marine preserve and kelp forest, the resort feels like an oceanfront sanctuary. With beautiful Mediterranean architecture and admirable environmental practices, this

Naturalistled trail walks, as well as activities such as seaside yoga and painting, give guests an opportunity to learn about local flora and fauna. The hotel itself is well equipped for any weekend getaway, with four pools, a spa and salon, a nine-hole golf course, eight dining options, enticing courtyards, outdoor fireplaces and telescopes, bars, a fitness studio and a well-curated boutique. With accommodations that include stylish casitas and villas, guest rooms and suites, you can choose to embrace the lively ambiance of the resort or opt for more privacy.

Sunriver Resort is committed to sustainability, the preservation of nature and an independent, local mindset—and it’s dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along!
Nestled in the picturesque Columbia River Gorge in Washington lies a hidden gem waiting to be explored. Skamania Lodge (@skamanialodge), which opened its doors in 1993, represents the quintessential honeymoon experience, offering newlyweds an escape from the city to a breathtaking landscape, where they can create memorable moments together to treasure forever. During daylight hours, couples can lean on nature to help recharge and reconnect, whether through an active outdoor excursion—hiking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, golf—instructor-led yoga, meditation, forest bathing, or with a glass of wine and a good book. After a day of adventuring, couples can enjoy a relaxing massage at the Waterleaf Spa before indulging in a gourmet, locally sourced meal at the Cascade Dining Room or River Rock Lounge.
The canyon is calling—and Enchantment Resort (@enchantment_resort) in Sedona, Arizona, is ready to welcome you to honeymoon bliss. Surrounded by acres of pristine wilderness in the heart of Boynton Canyon, Enchantment offers couples an unmatched opportunity to connect to nature. According to the resort, “Whether you prefer to relax poolside, explore the hiking and biking trails, nurture your creative side with an art experience or spend time on our tennis and pickleball courts, adventure surrounds you.”
Enchantment has just launched its “Many Moons” package, which is designed to encourage a deeper connection to those we love—perfect for newly married couples. It includes daily breakfast, credit for the Spa Suites at Boynton Canyon and a private excursion (hiking the Red Rocks, hiking under the stars or mountain biking are among the plentiful options). For the ultimate honeymoon indulgence, couples can book a pool suite, complete with a private plunge pool or spa pool with stunning views.
Winter, spring, summer or fall, the idyllic town of Seabrook, located on the Washington coast, delivers romance and nature in a small-town setting. A Pacific Northwest rendition of Gilmore Girls ’ Stars Hollow or the renowned Seaside, Florida, Seabrook was founded by Casey Roloff, who developed the town with a focus on new urban design and an intention to create connectivity and community.
The town offers an escape to tranquility and never-ending views of the Pacific Ocean from its perch atop a bluff. Rent one of the many cozy cottages, which are beautifully appointed and feel like you’ve moved into a home away from home. Plus, all the homes feature porches for watching the sunset and the neighbors pass by. Best of all, the community is quite walkable, whether out to dinner, the spa, shopping or, of course, the main attraction, the beach. Summer brings town events such as wine tastings, a concert series, Founders Day and more. And yes, weddings are also a dream come true at The Belfry at Seabrook (@belfryatseabrook), a beautiful blank slate awaiting your personal touch.
FROM TABLETOPS TO BRIDAL ACCESSORIES, DAINTY FLORALS IN SHADES OF PURPLE MAKE A BIG IMPACT
Design and Planning: Amanda Claire & Co.
Florals: Blomstra Floral Co.
Photography: Casi Yost
Venue: White Aspen Creative
Oversize centerpieces and billowing bouquets in neutral tones have been leading the way down the aisle recently, but with an eye on both budget and sustainability, restrained and elegant florals are stepping into the limelight—and color is key for making these designs memorable. “We have seen neutrals designed quite heavily the past few years, and now color is making a comeback,” says Amanda Galbraith of Amanda Claire & Co. “Pastel purple hues are luxurious, romantic and incredibly interesting to pull in for tonality.” And flowers are no longer reserved only for arrangements, as Morgan Westerberg-Jackson of Blomstra Floral Co. in Bend demonstrates by designing delicate accessories from fresh blooms. More significantly, as a floriographer, Morgan also incorporates the language of flowers in her work. “The basis of the language of flowers is the idea that each flower contains a certain energetic frequency that can be felt by those who handle it.” Thus, the dark purple earrings feature stock flowers which indicate a feeling of contentment or a happy life. “Obviously on a wedding day the affection will come through,” says Morgan. “But the quiet promise of a happy life together is a nice energy to feel that day.”
I love the SYMBOLISM purple pastels bring to the creative process, as they celebrate HEALING , innocence, purity of heart, faithfulness, SERENITY , virtue, grace and peace of mind.
– Amanda Galbraith, Amanda Claire & Co.
Celebrating individual flowers in a minimal way can still look LUXURIOUS and MODERN . An intimate and dainty floral design can bring the eye to the actual bloom, allowing each flower to take CENTER STAGE and shine.
Floral accessories are BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE – they are a way to showcase flowers as ART . Back pieces, floral necklaces, sashes, headpieces, even shoes are such a FUN WAY to include flowers that go beyond what anyone would EXPECT TO SEE .

Family-style dinners, such as this one by Vibrant Table, are a great way to encourage conversation among guests.
LOCAL INGREDIENTS INSPIRE GOURMET MENUS BY THREE OF OREGON’S TOP CATERERS
The bouquet, the bridal gown, the bridesmaids—all involve making important decisions. But in culinary-driven cities such as Portland, the main ingredient that every couple focuses on is the food. And today’s reception menus are equivalent to fine dining experiences, whether served family style or as elaborate courses. Here, The Hive, Devil’s Food and Vibrant Table catering companies put their creativity to work to develop decadent menus that celebrate Oregon’s local flavors alongside beautifully designed tabletops by Ashley Lachney of Alston Mayger Events.

VIBRANT TABLE’S FAMILY-STYLE STONE FRUIT MENU
Romaine + Arugula Salad with fresh peaches, crispy pancetta, Oregon blue cheese crumbles and smoked Willamette Valley honey vinaigrette
Bluebird Grain Farms Farro Salad with heirloom tomatoes, stone fruit, baby greens and sweet basil vinaigrette
Cedar Planked Chinook Salmon with preserved-cherry gastrique and fresh herbs
Braised Chicken + Plums with caramelized onions, apricots, Castelvetrano olives and figs
Dessert Miniatures: Rosemary-apricot shortbread with pine nut streusel / Black Forest panna cotta with dark chocolate cake crumble, cherry compote and shaved chocolate / Sugar plum tartlet with crème anglaise and apricot glaze
COCKTAILS BY EASTON BROAD
Claret Fizz with cherry and red wine reduction, lemon, bubbles
Red Hook with rye whiskey, amaro, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur
“Designing a tablescape for a company that takes their plating so seriously was no easy task. I wanted to let the dishes Vibrant Table chose speak for themselves, and not have anything too overwhelming that would take away from the colors and textures they were using in their dishes,” notes Ashley Lachney of Alston Mayger Events. “What emerged was an extremely clean, organic and minimalist tablescape that could really evoke the feeling of a spring or summer alfresco dining experience, with stone fruit at the forefront of their menu.” Wildflower Portland incorporated stone fruits into the table design by adding delicate bud vases of olive branches and small groupings of peaches and pears among the greenery.
Cider-Glazed Pork Belly with apple chutney and fried sage on polenta cakes
Chicory Salad with roasted pears, crispy lentils, sultanas and Dijon vinaigrette
Herb-Roasted Farm Chicken with Calvados cream, wild rice pilaf with apples, leeks and hazelnuts and grilled broccolini with cider glaze and crispy parsnips
Tarte Tatin with crème fraîche
Maple Old Fashioned with bourbon, maple, and Angostura and black walnut bitters
Apple Sidecar with apple brandy, orange liqueur, lemon juice, autumn spices
“When I think of the Devil’s Food brand, I think of opulence, luxuriousness and that smirk that your significant other gives you from across the room,” explains Lachney. “Because of this, and their chosen menu of orchard fruit, I went with a sequined black linen with all black stoneware, to allow their plating to shine.” Wildflower Portland took the devilish inspiration and ran with it, incorporating apples, orchids, ornamental peppers and anthurium.
THE HIVE CATERING CO.’S HAZELNUT MENU
Beet Root + Citrus Salad with beet, clementines, Mulino microgreens, goat cheese, Willamette Valley hazelnuts with a honey vinaigrette
Mary’s Farm Chicken with hazelnut pesto
Painted Hills Bavette Steak with Willamette Valley hazelnut romesco and seedy brittle
Maple Hazelnut Pie with bourbon whipped cream
COCKTAILS BY EASTON BROAD
Autumn Egg White Sour with bourbon, hazelnut liqueur, lemon, sugar, egg white
Nutty Bird with dark rum, amaro, hazelnut liqueur, pineapple, lime, orgeat
“Hive’s focus on quality, sustainability and from-scratch dishes had me feeling a very neutral, organic feel from the get-go,” says Lachney. “When they chose hazelnuts as their main menu component, I marched forward with a tablescape that was neutral in color and rich in late-summer, early-autumn texture. Chas Thompson Thomas of Wildflower Portland and I chose to style the table with natural elements as well to tie in that down-toearth feel.” Orchids in wooden containers mingle among chrysanthemums, violas, pansies and hoopera. Creative Direction, Design and Florals by Charming Peony Studio
Planning by Indigo Event Design
Photography by Sean Thomas
Text by Chelsea Gibson
At once airy, light and dramatic, this shoot on the moody Pacific Northwest coast was nothing short of magical. “I was inspired by the rituals and reverence of the American Indian culture and the subtle beauty of Mother Nature,” notes Yuliya Supin of Charming Peony Studio. “Wind, water, air and sun swirl together to produce the power of texture and the magic of natural light. We combined natural elements with simple living and organic artistry to create a beautiful wedding scape that seamlessly connected real life with the ethereal.” When it came to the florals, she gravitated toward dried grasses and wildflowers in a palette of cream, white, sage and beige. The same color scheme extended to the tablescape, for which Supin says she used “waterfront, beach, coast, forest, fields, air and sun” to pull it together. The dreamy look was finished with fluffy organic linens and soft silks, a raw-wood bench, stone plates, natural florals, aged-metal candleholders and fresh fruit.
Striking BEAUTY surrounds us.
Inspiration, for me, came from the beauty of the NATIVE AMERICAN CONNECTION with nature, simplicity and FREEDOM .

Local couples share their love stories and wedding details
SEPTEMBER 23, 2022
Married and celebrated: NORDIA HOUSE
Date: AUGUST 12, 2022
Underneath the canopy of a lush willow tree at Portland’s Nordia House, Andrew Ash and Brady Lange exchanged vows in front of family and friends—and an unexpected officiant: Brady’s 10-year-old niece. Though Brady’s ordained sister had performed the official ceremony with just close family and the grooms’ party before guests arrived, the ceremony with his niece at the helm was joyous and fun. The newlyweds exited the ceremony to a string quartet rendition of “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship, a band the couple discovered that they both loved on their first date. The reception was a perfect reflection of the couple’s simple yet elegant taste, with thoughtful details shining throughout. Wild bouquets of colorful flowers and overflowing greenery were perfect accents to simple, chic tables, and no two were the same. Personal touches reflected the couple’s individual passions, including the handmade suit Brady designed and Andrew’s curated reception playlist, which he spent weeks creating to ensure seamless flow and minimal fuss once they hit play. After dinner, guests were treated to dessert bars from Andrew and Brady’s favorite bakery, The Hungry Hero, and not a single piece was left over.

Portland born and bred, Kathryn Wessinger and Peter Maletis felt as if they had attended events at every venue in town, so finding something new was important to them. Amaterra, in the West Hills of Portland, was everything Kathryn and Peter had envisioned. Opened in January 2022, the beautiful winery was close to home and beautiful, with sweeping views from its hilltop location; best of all, it was perfect for dinner, dancing and a party atmosphere. Kathryn’s idea for a ground-up ombre aisle was inspired by a photo she had found of ombre arrangements of carnations lining a black checkerboard hallway. A clean, bright look, lots of candles, an anemone bouquet and baby’s breath were her main requests. “We wanted it to be a party!” emphasizes Kathryn. “An open bar and packed dance floor were a priority.” Bridal Bliss and Blüm Design in Flowers delivered a chic ceremony design, starting with the ombre-designed aisle and culminating in a dreamy baby’s breath and white rose arc. The reception incorporated bright end-of-summer shades of pink, orange and yellow. And the dance floor? Packed, thanks to the Oncore Band, which kept the guests dancing the night away.

Residents of St. Paul, Minnesota, Abbigail Clark and Abigail Nelson celebrated their love with a destination wedding weekend in the Pacific Northwest, joined by an intimate group of friends and family. After a relaxed yet adventurous week of sightseeing, dining and even zip lining, the couple shared their heartfelt vows at The Griffin House, perched on the cliffs above the scenic Columbia River Gorge in Hood River. Even when light rain arrived for the ceremony, Abby and Abby embraced its enchantment, as it fit right in with the soft, romantic details of their genuine Pacific Northwest event. Florals by Brier & Ivy enhanced the venue’s backdrop with fun, whimsical arrangements of daisies, sweet peas, garden roses and ranunculus surrounded by wild and flowing greenery. Because guests were traveling from all over, the couple wanted to highlight local cuisine to give everyone a true Oregon experience while supporting the local scene. Cocktail hour included a charcuterie board that featured all local produce and cheeses, and the salad course showcased local fruit and even an Oregon strawberry vinaigrette. Local wines from Washington and Oregon, along with a signature berry punch cocktail inspired by one of the couple’s favorite restaurants in Portland, rounded out the guests’ local culinary experience. The celebration continued underneath the glow of disco balls hanging in the reception tent, which were a special touch to acknowledge the couple’s love of discos.

Date: JULY 30, 2022
Accountants Kristin DeGrandmont and Vince Giacalone got to know each other while playing flag football with coworkers. Later, Vince proposed to Kristin on New Year’s Eve, bringing both of their families into a Zoom call from a dock on Lake Tahoe. Their ceremony took place on the vineyard lawn of The Oregon Golf Club, which delivered on the couple’s wedding vision of greenery, scenic views and an indoor/outdoor format. The pair shares a love of country music, so it was especially sentimental that they both mentioned Kenny Chesney in their vows—and his music was also the choice for their first dance. Bridesmaids wore taupe dresses, while Vince’s ivory tuxedo jacket contrasted with the groomsmen’s black tuxes. Florals were presented in simple and elegant arrangements and featured various shades of white with traces of greenery, perfectly accenting the wooden farm tables. Signature cocktails named the “Vicente Caliente” spicy margarita and the “Krissy Mule” Moscow mule were a fun touch. The bridesmaids’ and groomsmen’s grand entrance kicked off the party with cold sparklers and dry-ice fog machines, setting the scene for a fun-filled night.

Married: OAKS PIONEER CHURCH
Celebrated: THE EVERGREEN
Date: AUGUST 6, 2022
Years before meeting her husband, Amanda Tuttle had happened upon Oaks Pioneer Church in Portland and knew immediately it was the place she was one day meant to say “I do.” Fast-forward a few years and her premonition came true as she tied the knot with Bryant Felton in a loving affair that put friends and family at the heart of the celebration. Amanda and Bryant love Portland’s breweries, their loved ones and, of course, their two beloved dogs—all of which were on full display during their nuptials. The couple worked with Jodi Iverson of Jodi Iverson Florals to craft vibrant displays of yellow, tangerine and white blooms that complemented the bold accents of the midcentury-modern-inspired design. Working with Alston Mayger Events, Amanda and Bryant curated a palette of warm Pacific Northwest greens, ivory and copper. The reception took place at The Evergreen, which just so happens to be located above Loyal Legion Beer Hall, one of the couple’s favorites. When envisioning the food for the event, Amanda and Bryant didn’t want to give guests “normal” wedding fare. Instead, they went through several rounds of tastings in order to create the perfect palate-pleasing menu. When all was said and done, family was the ultimate focus of the night. In honor of Amanda’s late father, the couple had their first dance to a song he had composed, bringing his presence into the room for all to sense and appreciate.

Married and celebrated: TETHEROW RESORT, BEND
Date: JUNE 25, 2022
Christi Johansen and Nik Loera wed with Hawaiian flair inspired by Christi’s childhood in Hawaii. The ceremony space at Tetherow Resort was lush with tropical floral arrangements, with huge fan palms, monstera, palmetto leaves, garden roses and orchids, as well as splashes of coral from the sunset peonies seen throughout the wedding. The group proceeded to cocktail hour on the patio, accompanied by music from The Kinky Brothers band. The lounge space featured romantic bistro lighting, a plush lounge area and passed appetizers from Tetherow. At the reception, guests sat at tables draped in seafoam velvet linen and accented with orange napkins; a tropical leaf wall enhanced the ambiance. After the couple’s grand entrance into the ballroom, they took part in a lovely toast at the Champagne tower and then a plated dinner catered by the resort. After the meal, the maid of honor and the best man gave touching toasts, which led to the cutting of a marbled two-tiered cake from Campbell Cakes. Some of the guests had a great time hamming it up with a photo booth from Stumptown Booth, as the couple snuck off for final sunset photos and a private first dance.

In a truly wonderful love story, Kate Dunham and Reed Oliver tied the knot on the street where they grew up together. They were fortunate enough to be able to close down their hometown street from sunrise to sunset. As kids, they played flashlight tag and spent summers at the lake. Their first kiss and Reed’s proposal happened on Kate’s doorstep. The ceremony was held in Kate’s yard, with cocktail hour and dinner taking place in the street, followed by dancing in Reed’s yard. The couple wanted their reception décor to match the natural beauty along the street, so they chose lots of greenery with blooms of pink and white. A detail that appeared throughout the wedding was a crest designed by Reed. It includes the couple’s initials and the numbers of their home addresses. Those same details made their way onto her engagement ring and his suit. The night ended with a sparkler send-off, as a preview to the upcoming Fourth of July weekend.

After the votes were tallied, Oregon Bride readers had chosen Amanda and Will’s beautiful elopement on the Oregon coast.
