IT’S THE AGE-OLD STORY OF TRUE LOVE, and today’s tales are more inspired than ever before. As we look toward the future—the rest of 2021 and beyond—one can’t help but feel true excitement and deep gratitude for what is to come: the thrill of gathering with family and friends to celebrate a couple’s nuptials without the fear and anxiety of wondering whether it’s safe to do so. That thrill extends to a couple’s affection for their future together, ready to take on the world and its challenges, no matter what they may be.
And so it’s with hope-filled anticipation and a renewed zest for life that we offer inspiration for weddings to come. From intimate elopements to grand soirees and everything in between, today’s weddings leave no doubt that love, in all its glory, will reign, and that the best really is yet to come.
To all the love and what it holds true.
Cheers,
Bridal couture line Grace Loves Lace (graceloveslace.com), which celebrated the opening of its Ballard location earlier this year, recently launched a new collection titled Amitié. The line is ethically produced in its Australian atelier and features a selection of luxurious “fuss free” pieces, all made from eco-satin, created using 97% recycled materials.
Redo packages—ways to celebrate missed moments from the past year—are on the rise, and Lotte Hotel Seattle (lottehotel. com) has launched an entire “Re-Do Menu.” The hotel’s redo packages include special rates on events and stays, as well as dining at The Charlotte Restaurant & Lounge (with spectacular Elliott Bay views); Le Spa de l’hôtel Lotte packages; and gourmet cakes by pastry chef Artis Kalson—all to make up for lost time.
In 2020, longtime favorite City Catering launched specialty gift basket company Bite Society (hellobitesociety.com), producing themed food and specialty gift baskets in house. The packages are perfect for all sorts of celebrations and can be shipped nationwide, helping couples connect to loved ones in a special way, no matter the distance.
Washington wine label Jaine (jaine.co) is known for its bottles of crisp white and rosé blends, which make for the perfect celebratory treat or gift idea for brides, wedding parties and more. The brand’s tasting room, dubbed “Jaine Cottage,” opened earlier this year in Woodinville. The airy space is available for tasting reservations
After completing extensive renovations early last year, with original plans to open in 2020, new venue EvenTide Lake Union at Tyee (Instagram, @eventidelakeunion), formerly known as the Tyee Yacht Club, has reopened. A team of expert vendors celebrated with a styled shoot to kick off the season. For vendor details and more photos, access the full story online below.

Opting for Rosario Beach as their backdrop—it was the spot where bride Michelle Barrera, the model for this shoot, came for engagement photos— photographer Chelsea Terry and florist Jessica Vann-Campbell joined forces to create an inspirational elopement shoot, contrasting the drama of a bohemian-inspired bridal style with the stunning rocky coastline. Pampas grass accents and a modern braided take on the traditional updo leave no doubt that simple details can make a bold statement. Here, the beauty of an intimate elopement takes center stage. “Elopements offer more opportunity to choose a place that’s significant to the couple and to showcase the bride in all her beauty, taking the time to capture all the little details, with no timeline to dictate the day,” reflects Terry. “Eloping is not a plan B for many couples, it’s the new plan A.”

This season’s trends evoke the pastoral elegance of days of yore. Chic, square necklines and billowy milkmaid sleeves combine for a romantic, demure look that still has plenty to lend to modern variations. The details of this season’s gowns are focused above the waistline, drawing the eye—and catching everyone’s attention.
1. “Porcelain Papillon” gown by Luly Yang (lulyyang.com). Photo by Vivian Hsu. A strapless neckline offers a simple yet flattering detail to a gown without competing with other design elements. This structured silk satin-faced organza ensemble represents understated elegance at its finest. An asymmetrical skirt, draping and layered tulle train makes for a dramatic finish. 2. The “Brighton” gown by Lela Rose, courtesy of Nyanza Bridal (nyanzabridal.com). A straight horizontal neckline and delicate spaghetti straps are a minimalist’s dream come true. This neckline perfectly frames the collarbone and elongates the neck for a chic, lithe look.
“Cecile” blouse and “Maya” skirt by Prea James, courtesy of Lovely Bride Seattle (lovelybride.com). Breezy sleeves add subtle volume and a vintage feel without being dated, as exhibited by this blouse-and-skirt combo. Balance out billowy sleeves with a sleek, curve-skimming silhouette for a neoclassical vibe.

That quintessential image of glowing skin—it’s a look most brides and grooms long for on their wedding day. Sure, nothing beats the experience of being in love to bring out one’s most natural radiance. However, factors such as a lack of sleep and the extra stress leading up to one’s wedding day can certainly impact the health of one’s skin. An intentional skin care routine and special attention to nutrient-rich foods are key to keeping the effects of those stressors from showing. Take note of these dietitian-approved recommendations to achieve that desired glow.
Collagen is the body’s most abundant structural protein, building connective tissue for skin, bone, cartilage and tendons. Unfortunately, collagen’s elasticity breaks down as we age. Protect and boost collagen levels by adding collagen-rich foods to your diet and using collagen-stimulating skin care products.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that maintains moisture to lubricate joints, nerves and muscles; it also keeps skin plump and supple. As with collagen, the human body decreases production of HA as we get older. While there are no foods that provide HA, eating nutrientdense foods can protect HA levels in the body.
