HEADING HOME

As a proud Cedarburg, Wisconsin native, I am over-the-moon to be the new managing editor of Wisconsin Bride . And before you ask—yes, I cheer for the Green Bay Packers, enjoy cheese curds and indulge in the occasional old-fashioned, always made with brandy, of course. With years of experience working at a luxury bridal shop, I am excited to bring my knowledge in bridal fashion to the forefront of Wisconsin Bride !

For my debut fashion shoot, I had the privilege of styling a collection of looks featuring unique gowns with striking black accents, set against the iconic backdrop of Kohler’s Whistling Straits (page 50). From design and décor to confections and florals, this edition has it all. If you’re craving a dose of nostalgia, our delicious feature “Piece of Cake” is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth (page 68). Old-World charm more your vibe? Turn to “The Green Scene” where a fresh tablescape and extraordinary floral concept takes form at The Fitzgerald (page 62). Don’t forget to set sail to Lake Geneva for a nautical wedding day design featuring the most ethereal details (page 74).

We are so proud of this issue. Its pages are full of inspiration, from the latest in fashion news (page 34) and a swoonworthy reception idea (page 30) to a new wedding planning tool (page 31) and a Wisconsin-themed bachelorette party (page 32).

So, start your engines and get ready to dive in to make your dream celebration a reality! Thank you for welcoming me back to my home state, and cheers to my fellow Wisconsinites!

SPRING AWAKENING

Romantic details mixed with Old-World elegance took form at the historic State Bank of Waupun’s upper loft. 1920s-style architecture, rich wood and stone elements of the building inspired Christina Kartechner of Kartechner & Girls Flower Co. to juxtapose the space with soft, dreamy details. An ethereal gown from Tie the Knot Bridal Boutique with luxurious tulle and organza added a sense of movement and influenced the untamed botanical concept. The bouquet showcased flowering branches foraged the morning of the shoot, and “they added the perfect touch of unrefined beauty to the bouquet and were the perfect nod to the seasonality of the shoot,” Kartechner says. Hellebores, lisianthus and locally grown tulips and ranunculus were also woven into the floral design. To adhere to the feminine theme, Shi Norman of Lettered by Shi kept things light and airy with an invitation suite incorporating dainty details, deckled edges and handwritten calligraphy into the muted color palette.

GUESTS OF HONOR

THREE LOCAL WEDDING PLANNERS SHARE IDEAS ON HOW TO KEEP YOUR GUESTS IN MIND WHEN PLANNING THE BIG DAY

SIP & SOLVE

If you’re searching for an activity to bring together your loved ones, look no further. Renee Tantillo of Renee Breanne Design + Co crafted a large crossword puzzle at cocktail hour for Tara and Jeff’s wedding day. “While weddings are centered on the couple, it’s essential to consider the guests’ experience as well,” Tantillo advises. “Interactive activities show that the couple has thoughtfully considered ways to entertain their guests. This can make the day more enjoyable, ensuring guests are not just observers but active participants in the celebration.”

A WARM WELCOME

Events to a T believes the guest experience should begin the moment friends and family walk through the hotel doors—such as a welcome gift upon arrival. “This simple yet impactful practice sets the tone for an unforgettable wedding weekend,” says Emily Riordan of Events to a T. Welcome gifts can serve not only as a thoughtful token but also as icebreakers among guests who may not know each other. “From locally sourced snacks and beverages that showcase the region, to personalized items like custom wedding itineraries or heartfelt notes, these gifts create a sense of belonging and connection,” Riordan says. “Ultimately, it’s these thoughtful gestures that make a wedding not just an event but a heartfelt celebration shared with loved ones.”

PICTURE PERFECT

There is simply no time to snap a picture with every guest at your wedding day—it’s a battle couples have been losing for years. But if your heart is set on capturing the moment with your guests, Ashley Kuehnel, owner of Midwestern Bride , has found a creative solution: a speed-dating style photo session.

“This concept is announced to guests to let them know that for one song and one song only they can come up and take a photo with the couple,” Kuehnel explains. All you need to do is get your photographer on board, announce and clearly explain to guests, set up a nice backdrop, pick a high energy song and keep your expressions and gestures dynamic from image to image.

ENCHANTED GARDEN

Inspired by the scenery of Lake Como, Jana (Stoa) Peterson wanted to transform the ballroom at La Crosse Center into a luxe garden scene for her and Jackson Peterson’s wedding day. Summer Snyder of Orange Door Weddings (@orangedoorweddings) brought her lush vision to life, creating a magical reception brimming with enchanting details. Upon entering, guests were transported to a dreamy atmosphere reminiscent of an Italian garden fête. A custombuilt gold arch draped in lush greenery enveloped the head table, forming an emerald canopy that elevated the intimacy of the dining experience. Hues of neutrals and sage green enhanced the natural, alfresco feel. Focusing on texture over color, clear glass, velvet fabrics and a sea of candlelight added an opulent ambiance to the design. Infusing the reception with a touch of Old-World charm, bowering antique chandeliers dazzled at the head table. The mixture of grand branches and greenery sang a harmonious verdant symphony, each element a note in the cohesive composition. Delicate bud vases, each holding a graceful arrangement of white, textured florals, lined the table in a minimalist yet captivating display, evoking quiet elegance and timeless romance. —Sydney Stevens

THE DAILEE

While planning a wedding, many brides find there are many more factors to be considered than they had ever imagined and find themselves overwhelmed. Milwaukee influencer and Cedarburg native Sophia Hengst (@bysophialee) , founder and lead designer at design firm BSL Studios , had this experience when planning her own wedding and decided to transform the knowledge she gained into The Dailee Wedding Planner. Complete with timelines, vow brainstorming and writing adivce, tipping guides and more, this notebook aims to alleviate stress and eliminate the unknowns in wedding planning. Through both her own trialand-error as a bride and extensive interviews with industry experts, Hengst was able to simplify the process into a comprehensive resource and highlight the nitty gritty details most couples miss. This resource is intended for future brides and grooms to enjoy their planning. She says, “Ultimately, I want our Wedding Planner to be a trusted companion that not only makes planning more manageable but also enhances the excitement of the journey leading up to the wedding.”

FROM MKE WITH LOVE

Milwaukee offers stunning city skylines and unparalleled views of Lake Michigan. For Wisconsinites, love for this vibrant city runs deep. With its eclectic vibe and diverse offerings—from cheese-centric dishes to distinctive breweries—what’s not to love? In tribute to her home state, future bride Libby Rasmussen (@libbylivingcolorfully) celebrated with a Wisconsin-themed bachelorette party, visiting her favorite Milwaukee hotspots.

Day 1: Harley Nights. In honor of her childhood spent riding bikes and motorcycles with her brother, Libby and her bridal party kicked off the weekend with Harley rides at the Harley-Davidson Museum, followed by an intimate dinner at Nonfiction Wine. The night ended with boozy milkshakes at her favorite bar, At Random.

Day 2: Dairy Before the Marry & Midwestern Dad. Given Wisconsin’s fame for its cheese, it was only fitting that Libby showcased her home state’s finest. The Sartori Cheese caves in Plymouth—home to her favorite Parmesan-cheddar blend, Montamore—was the prime spot. After lunch at Culver’s and a pit stop at Kwik Trip for lottery tickets, the day continued with a visit to Second Look Holsteins in Eden where the group met dairy cows. Donning thrifted “Midwestern dad” outfits, the group headed to a lakeside restaurant near Libby’s cottage for a quintessential Wisconsin Friday night fish fry with brandy old-fashioneds.

Day 3: Gone Fishin’ & Cottage Core. Due to rough waters, the group decided to forgo their fishing plans on the pontoon and instead spent the day enjoying fried food and pull tabs and mingling with the locals. A cottage-core-inspired dinner hosted by friends and Madison locals, Don’t Cook for Cowboys (@dontcookforcowboys) was a flawless ending to the epic weekend. “I wouldn’t have changed a single thing,” Libby says.

SHINE ON

A dull and dingy ring is a common complaint among the newly engaged and the long-married alike, but for SHINERY (@shinery) founder Brea Fullerton, it sparked the creation of a first-of-its-kind product. Fullerton pushed herself to bridge the “significant gap in how we care for our jewelry compared to other valued items in our lives” with the creation of her Jewelry Wash, a hand soap-meets-jewelry cleaner that makes it easy to care for high-quality gems. This innovative and convenient hand wash not only leaves engagement rings and mixed metals sparkling but also free of sulfates, parabens, synthetic fragrances and other components harmful to your skin. Fullerton’s “personal challenge” of finding an uncomplicated product and process for her most treasured items has made jewelry care simple.

STRIKE A POSE

LOCAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS SHARE THEIR TIPS AND TRICKS TO ACHIEVE A UNIQUE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

STUDIO SESSION

To ensure you’re the star of your engagement photos, opt for a studio session. Shooting at one inside location offers ample time for outfit changes, a chance to build a relationship with your wedding photographer in a quiet place, and room for personalization. For the more camera-shy couple, this also gives you an opportunity to practice posing without onlookers. “Studio sessions are great for solely focusing on the couple, their outfits and their energy with each other,” explain Christie LaPlant and Megan Marchese of Wanderlynn Photography (@wanderlynnphotography). “It’s also fun because you have a controlled environment from outside distractions like people, weather, lighting, etc. We’re able to get creative by playing with flash, shadows, furniture and anything else unique to our couple.”

HOME, SWEET HOME

Some say your home is a direct reflection of who you are, so what better place to host your engagement session? The home holds memories and sentimental pieces, and it showcases personal style. “Engagement sessions are a fabulous way to express your individuality, tell a story about your relationship and ensure uniqueness,” says Sylvia Damaris of Sylvia Damaris Photography (@thesylviadamaris). Take notes from this snuggly in-home session in which the couple showcased their love for piano and song. “Think about what you love doing together—whether it’s cooking, playing video games or watching your favorite TV show—and incorporate that into your session,” Damaris advises.

Your wedding day. The magnitude of this moment deserves a setting with grandeur. The Commodore –A Bartolotta Restaurant is a breathtaking Lake Country venue during all seasons. The Commodore brings high design and easy sophistication to a location dedicated to legacy on Nagawicka Lake. Here, the most memorable events call for the awardwinning cuisine and first-class service only The Bartolotta Restaurants can provide.

Make your history part of ours.

DATE NIGHT

“When choosing a location for your engagement photos, I often encourage couples to think of a spot that has special meaning to them,” says Danielle Dahl of Dani Dahl Photography (@danidahlphoto). In this case, the bowling alley and tavern Holler House was the perfect spot for this effortlessly cool Milwaukee engagement session. Choosing a location that holds special meaning for you or reflects your relationship can make your photos stand out even more. It might help you feel more at ease during the photo shoot as well. “Your location, however, doesn’t need to have any significance aside from the fact that you just like it! Think about the vibe, mood and feel you’d like for your photos and let that help guide your decision,” Dahl encourages. “Ultimately, just have fun with it and don’t be afraid to express yourselves.”

HIDDEN GEMS

According to India Lawless of Portraits by India Lawless (@lawless.photo), the best backdrops are hidden in plain sight. Think about what atmospheres you like as a couple: Do you enjoy serene nature settings? A sleek city skyline? Or somewhere that exudes industrial chic vibes? “The first step is finding an obvious location that has room for exploring, then look in all the nooks and crannies and don’t rule anything out,” Lawless says. “A simple covered bridge with rough industrial edges can be a jackpot session backdrop for classy and casual themes.” Whatever your style may be, there is no shortage of hidden gems that can bring the look you and your partner seek.

STROLL & SNAP

Have a ritual you and your partner do together? This could be golfing every Wednesday, happy hour on Fridays or, in this pair’s case, a daily evening walk around their gorgeous neighborhood. “When the forecast showed possible scattered showers, the couple was even more excited,” says Olivia McCracken of O&B Photo Co. (@oandbphotoco) “It provided an even more authentic experience to their desire for an ‘evening walk’ engagement session.” This can highlight your shared interests and offer a chance to showcase the neighborhood in which you create memories. “It’s about the candid, authentic interactions together,” McCracken explains.

THE GREEN SCENE

A HARMONIOUS FUSION OF GREEN HUES COMPOSES A LUSH SYMPHONY AT THE FITZGERALD IN DOWNTOWN MILWAUKEE

INSPIRED BY FLOURISHING GREENERY and exotic textures found outside the Midwest, Lisa Young of Lisa Young Photography crafted a lush wedding day design exuding a feeling of luxury at The Fitzgerald on Milwaukee’s east side. Lush ivy garnishes the exquisite 1800s-style architecture and Cream City brick, setting a lively tone for the green-focused concept. The invitations play into the organic atmosphere, featuring an earthy palette, unique envelope liners showcasing nature watercolors, refined patterns and romantic calligraphy.

A charming alfresco dining experience awaits at a lavish table topped with a verdant array of fruit and vegetables intertwined with local smoke bush and allium. Fanny Müller, floral designer and owner of M&F Floral + Décor, decided to put her special spin on the design. With a Wabi-Sabi design approach, a Japanese concept that means the beauty of things imperfect, she decided to show people that you can create something beautiful with the most unexpected things, like food. “I was inspired by unique flowers, fruits, shapes and textures,” Müller says. Her influence led her to integrate green figs, Japanese eggplant, squash, kiwi, limes and more into the arrangement. “Just dare to step out of your comfort zone,” she says.

Radiating sophistication, rich olive napkins and ribbed coupe glasses grace each place setting. A striking display of blooms seems to emerge from the ground, adding an extra layer of untamed beauty.

In the spirit of blending modern and classic, the bride is outfitted in a romantic silk gown and neck scarf adding contemporary edge and a sense of movement to the scene as our groom opts for a timeless black suit. The bride’s overflowing bouquet of varying types of alliums, local smoke bush and Amaranthus hanging green achieves the perfect balance of whimsical and elegant.

I am intrigued by anything that looks odd, unique, imperfect and a bit flawed.

JULIE MICHELLE CAKES

While attending The French Pastry School in Chicago, Julie Lopez of Julie Michelle Cakes (@juliemichellecakes) was taught this piping technique by a traditional pastry chef. Little did she know the return of the vintage-inspired cakes would make a comeback nearly 15 years later.

“This style has taken on a modern twist,” Lopez says. Using a variety of piping tips, she created a delectable buttercream cake with a layered, monochromatic design. The cherry on top? Cherries dusted with an edible vintage gold glitter, of course.

COWBOY DAVID’S BAKERY

As an homage to the classic details of times gone by, Joseph Rogan-Nordstrom of Cowboy David’s Bakery (@cowboydavids) used dramatic shades of lavender and aubergine to craft this bold dessert. Accessorized with Lambeth-piped garland, gold details and a crown of florals, this two-tiered cake serves as a reminder of the lavish affairs of a past era.

WHISK CHICK

Influenced by the traditional style of 19th- to early 20th-century Lambeth cakes, MK Drayna of Whisk Chick (@whisk.chick) produced a grand three-tiered masterpiece. To adhere to the theme, royal icing was used for the complex piped details and drop lines. “Royal icing, named after its use on Queen Victoria’s wedding cake in 1840, hardens when it dries, allowing for an intricate layered piping design,” Drayna explains. Adding a touch of femininity and eye-catching texture, satin bows were a flawless final garnish for this coquette confection.

CLEAR WATERS

LOVE TRULY FLOATS ON LAKE GENEVA IN THIS NAUTICAL DESIGN WITH WARM-TONED DETAILS

Perched on the shores of Lake Geneva, Pier 290 hosted a captivating styled shoot that effervescently embraced the lake’s serene beauty. This intimate event showcased a seamless blend of romance and personalized quirkiness, with each detail thoughtfully designed to highlight the venue’s locale and our couple’s relationship. Soft hues of blush, peach and coral florals played a starring role throughout the day, lending whimsy to the sophisticated space and enhancing the tranquil lakeside atmosphere.

The bride exuded elegance in an off-the-shoulder gown adorned with layers of soft tulle and delicate ruffles, creating a dreamy, voluminous silhouette. Her look was completed with a classic updo and a bouquet of vibrant peonies in blush and coral hues, adding a pop of color to her ethereal ensemble. The groom complemented her perfectly in a tailored navy suit paired with a soft blush tie, adding a touch of refinement and balance to the overall aesthetic.

A custom floral arch served as the focal point for the ceremony, placed strategically to frame the expansive views of Lake Geneva. Lush blooms, including Japanese Itoh peonies and ranunculus, cascaded from the arch in soft pinks and oranges, offering a sense of organic beauty that perfectly complemented the natural waterfront backdrop. “The backdrop featured the debut of a new hook base,” explains Mary Jo Borchardt, founder and creative director of Atmospheric Floral. “We love how it’s an exciting twist on an arch backdrop but also wanted it to flow beautifully so we could repurpose it in the reception space.”

Elements of nautical charm were thoughtfully woven into the shoot, adding playful sophistication. Sailboat-inspired escort cards, each shaped like a miniature sailboat, were displayed on a flower box bursting with soft floral arrangements. Guests were invited to “Set Sail to Your Seats,” seamlessly blending the romantic floral details with the casual elegance of a waterside gathering.

Inside the reception space, a long table dressed in soft neutral linens awaited, with pastel-hued floral centerpieces running the length of the table. Delicate narcissus and ranunculus blooms were displayed in sculptural vessels while rose gold flatware and textured ivory napkins added a feeling of understated luxury. Blue glassware and custom menus offered a pop of color, contrasting beautifully with the soft floral tones and echoing the cool blue waters of the lake. To close the day, our couple enjoyed a quiet moment aboard a vintage boat with its “Just Married” flag fluttering in the breeze as they sailed off into the sunset.

Historic, Modern/Urban

414.433.6088 | pritzlaffevents.com @pritzlaffevents | @pritzlaffevents

Welcome to the historic Pritzlaff Building. Constructed in 1875 and recently renovated, the Pritzlaff has been transformed into a breathtaking example of not only what was, but what can be. Here, 26,000 square feet of floor space is surrounded by Victorian-era arched windows and gritty Cream City brick. Above, you’ll find industrial age beamed ceilings curiously supported by elegant wood beams. Events can range from formal to funky. Ice sculptures peacefully coexist with candle flame, flowers emerge from concrete and steel while echoes of electronica sound just as at home here as a Bach sonata. The Pritzlaff property is conveniently divided into three separate spaces. The Pritzlaff can welcome up to 1,000. Depending on the size or function of your event, you may choose to move your guests between the spaces. Say dinner in one and dancing in the other. Versatility. Flow. Energy. Allure. In the end it’s all about creating a memorable experience. And your Pritzlaff event will be one they won’t soon forget.

REBECCA & DANIEL

Married & Celebrated: GREENHOUSE NO. 7, MILWAUKEE

Date: MAY 18, 2024

Amid a sea of vibrant hues, unique textures and fragrant botanicals, Rebecca Reeves and Daniel Mckay said, “I do.” Despite her current residence of Seattle, as a born and raised Wisconsinite, Rebecca wanted to host their celebration back in her home state. Greenhouse No. 7 at the iconic Mitchell Park Domes was the perfect venue with its expansive views and ample natural light. Influenced by the elegant charm of a chic spring picnic, the couple, alongside Chloe McClure, lead planner with Light as a Feather Events, created an unforgettable bright bash beaming with bright colors and unexpected patterns. A floral-lined aisle played into the theme while pink draping and bridesmaids donning shades of vibrant green and yellow added an artistic flair. The juicy palette of peach, coral and chartreuse carried into the reception design, which featured patterned linens and bold napkins accented with wicker and rattan elements at each table. Lit candles and glowing chandeliers added a layer of warmth to the romantic ambience as Daniel and Rebecca had their first dance as husband and wife. From the first look to the last song, the Mckays’ lively fête evoked the essence of spring and flawlessly represented their relationship through joyful details. — Sydney Stevens

ZACH & CLAY

Married & Celebrated:

THE

MADISON

CLUB, MADISON

Date: MAY 4, 2024

Zach and Clay’s wedding at The Madison Club was a dazzling blend of modern elegance and personal touches, perfectly reflecting their love story. Set in the city where their journey began, the soirée embraced a modern Art Deco theme with a rich palette of dark navy and mixed metallics. The venue’s timeless style set the stage for a sophisticated affair where every detail was intentional and bespoke, crafted with the help of a stellar vendor team. From the start, Zach and Clay wanted their guests to experience the love and connection that had shaped their relationship. They incorporated special touches, like a watch exchange with pre-wedding letters and floral monograms, to make the day uniquely theirs. The couple also had two showstopping looks, donning luxe tuxes for the ceremony before revealing metallic inspired second looks for the reception that featured custom linings honoring the cities where they proposed to one another. The reception was an unforgettable party, complete with brandy old-fashioneds, cheese curds, mini brats and a surprise performance by the Badger Marching Band. Their first dance featured cold sparks and vocals recorded by Zach as a surprise for Clay, adding even more magic to the night. As the night ended, Zach and Clay knew they had created something special—an unforgettable celebration of their love. — Lizzie Parish

Southeastern Wisconsin native Namrata Shah wanted to showcase the best of her home while celebrating her marriage to Deep Bhatt. At the start of a daylong affair, the couple celebrated with a traditional ceremony at Discovery World, overlooking the bright blue of both sky and water on Lake Michigan. The bridal party’s outfits, sourced directly from India, further brought their culture to life by featuring vibrant hues of red, orange and soft pink florals representing both sunrise and sunset. The party continued with dinner, dancing and a cocktail hour magic show by Deep’s favorite magician at the Milwaukee Art Museum. NATALIE & GARRETT

Married & Celebrated: PRIVATE RESIDENCE, LAKE GENEVA

Date: OCTOBER 28,

2023

With a shared affinity for fine dining, romantic date nights, fall colors and Lake Geneva, Natalie Schutz and Garrett Schultz created a cozy, black-tie affair at the bride’s family’s lakeside estate. Crisp October air and autumn foliage set a welcoming tone as Natalie and Garrett’s ceremony in the grand tent began. The bride opted for a sleek Vera Wang gown complete with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, complementing her bridesmaids’ assortment of black dresses and the groom and groomsmen’s timeless tuxes. Featuring a monochromatic white floral design, hanging bloom installations decorated the ceiling while the aisle lined with flower boxes evoked a feeling of opulence. Dramatic black curtains, glowing chandeliers and lit candles achieved the cozy ambience the bride and groom were aiming for. Framed by bright orange trees and the glistening waters of Lake Geneva, Natalie and Garrett became husband and wife. The sophisticated cocktail hour began with hand-crafted libations, a violist and exquisite food to reflect Natalie’s family’s passion for their high-end meat and seafood distribution business. On the menu? A raw bar, sushi, soup shooters and an exceptional dinner featuring top-notch, locally sourced ingredients. A magnificent fireworks show was a catalyst for celebration as guests gathered in the tent for a one-of-a-kind reception under a sea of twinkling lights. — Sydney Stevens

AMANDA & SAMSON

Married & Celebrated: NORTHERN HAUS, SISTER BAY

Date: JULY 6, 2024

Bringing California cool to the Midwest, Amanda Johnson and Samson Ghaffari wanted to incorporate the airy style of their new LA residence into their Door County wedding while providing a true Wisconsin experience for their guests. Under the heat of a balmy Fourth of July weekend, Samson teared up in his beige suit and matching cowboy hat while his sons walked him down the aisle. The bridesmaids wore shades that matched the clear summer sky, and Amanda beamed gleefully in her lace gown, ready to marry the man of her dreams. The reception featured breezy blues and pops of yellow florals against the neutral modern venue. Cherry spritzes and Wisconsin old fashioneds were sipped throughout the evening as the bride and groom’s signature cocktails, and cowboy motifs were featured tastefully throughout the stationery. The lively reception kicked off with a wall of glowing cowboy hats for the guests to wear while dancing the night away, providing a fun-loving detail to the elegantly understated evening. — Ryley Hoff

QUENTIN & TONY

Married & Celebrated: THE FACTORY ON BARCLAY, MILWAUKEE

Date: APRIL 6, 2024

A classic aesthetic to reflect their everlasting love, Quentin Segovia and Tony Rutzinski celebrated their show-stopping wedding day in style surrounded by their loved ones. Quentin and Tony brought their laughter- and adventure-filled love story to life with a timeless black and white wedding accented with crystals and bedecked with white roses and orchids. Quentin was a vision in sparkling white, and his custom suit featuring a flowing cape paired with a sparkling veil brought the drama to complement Tony’s modern black-and-white suit jacket. The whole evening glittered with the pair exchanging “I do’s” in front of a crystal backdrop, their bridal party shimmering in black sequins, and an abundance of tears reflecting as they rolled down all 250 guests’ cheeks at the heartfelt ceremony. An ideal balance of elegance and roaring fun, the reception kicked off with an electrifying performance from three local drag queens. Quentin changed into his second look—a custom lace suit—and he and Tony hit the dance floor, their twirling first dance to “Can I Have This Dance” from “High School Musical 3” framed perfectly by towering cold sparks. Tony lifted Quentin up high “Dirty Dancing” style, sparking a lively dance party to celebrate the start of forever. — Ryley Hoff

JILLIAN & EVAN

Married: OLD ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, DE PERE

Celebrated: ROUND LAKE FARMS, BRILLION

Date: FEBRUARY 24, 2024

Jillian Reynolds was introduced to Evan Soderlund through their work at AriensCo Hospitality, so it was only fitting that this introduction led to a wedding at the company’s beautiful venue Round Lake Farms. Married on a near-freezing February day, the couple was a picture of classic elegance. Jillian was glowing in a satin off-the-shoulder gown and pearled veil and Evan was striking in a sleek black tux, both accented with the bright pinks and purples of the bride’s custom bouquet. Both bride and groom laughed joyously through their ceremony, aiming to savor every bit of their wedding day. Working in the wedding industry, Jillian and Evan were aware of how fast the celebration would fly by, so they made sure to carve time out of their day to slow down with each other over old fashioneds and relish in their love before meeting their guests for the reception. Adorned with an array of deep pinks, the reception space was warm and welcoming, featuring modern displays of candlelight and an abundance of scabiosa and ranunculus—the bride’s favorite flowers. Jillian made sure to pay special tribute to her mother and the women in her life by dancing to a childhood favorite song, “Somebody to Call My Lover” by Janet Jackson. Jillian’s parents would often use the phrase “it takes a village,” in reference to raising children, and the Soderlunds felt lucky to look around on their wedding day and see the village they had created celebrating their love alongside them. — Ryley Hoff

DAVID & ALLIE

Married & Celebrated: ST. JAMES 1868, MILWAUKEE

Date: MARCH 16, 2024

When a wedding professional ties the knot, you know it’s going to be magical. For David Hackbarth, owner of David Charles Productions, and Allie Cabreza’s Milwaukee wedding, his team and Renee Tantillo of Renee Breanne Design + Co went above and beyond to create a day that exuded elegance and style. St. James 1868 proved to be the ideal locale, matching the couple’s timeless vision to a tee. Botanical elements and candlelight played a significant role in the design; rich clusters of crisp white blooms and candles at varying heights added an aura of romance while flourishing greenery provided texture and depth to the historic space. “The design strikes the perfect balance between classic elegance and luxury, creating a serene and lush atmosphere that feels both timeless and naturally beautiful,” Tantillo says. With a goal to showcase their refined taste while remaining deeply personal, the pair incorporated meaningful elements throughout the day. Bespoke details were on full display, from the numerous backdrops, glam seating chart display and the striking dance floor. A mariachi band gave a lively performance to honor the bride’s heritage, and a character artist drew portraits of guests. According to Tantillo, their nuptials were a perfect blend of celebration and connection. — Sydney Stevens

Their love story began with an unexpected twist when, after meeting online and planning a date at a rooftop restaurant in Green Bay, they both arrived early and serendipitously first met in the elevator, instantly feeling a spark. An engagement came three years later when Kaylee found Nick on one knee surrounded by candles and flower petals with “Crazy Love” by Van Morrison playing softly in the background of their home. An English garden theme sprinkled with vintage charm was on full display for their June wedding day at The LedgeCrest Reserve. To showcase her playful personality, bride Kaylee opted for a blue gown accessorized with jewelry from her grandmother and a diamond necklace from her groom-to-be. The reception was the ideal blend of the bride’s and groom’s respective styles, with old books acting as table numbers and brass candle sticks adding a romantic element while the cigar and bourbon bar added a masculine touch. Kaylee showcased her Old Hollywood-inspired second look as a night of heartfelt toasts, live music and dancing ensued. — Allexa Whitehouse

SAMANTHA & CHADD

Married: BASILICA OF SAINT JOSAPHAT, MILWAUKEE

Celebrated: THE GARAGE AT HARLEY-DAVIDSON MUSEUM

Date: JUNE 21, 2024

After a picture-perfect engagement on a Hawaiian mountain ridge, Samantha Torchalski and Chadd Mech continued their love story by having a tropical-inspired party in the heart of Milwaukee. On their June wedding day, the pair honored their families' Polish heritage with a beautiful ceremony at the Basilica of Saint Josaphat, showcasing its breathtaking architecture and regal ambience. The celebration moved to The Garage at the Harley-Davidson Museum, where the groom showcased his cherry red 1972 Ford Torino during the cocktail hour and they featured a dazzling champagne tower. Guests were transported to a lush oasis with an abundance of palm leaves and greenery gracing every corner of the reception space. It was important for Samantha and Chadd to include their loved ones in multiple details throughout the day: custom maple cookies featuring their friend’s maple syrup were served, invitation illustrations were drawn by the bride’s mother and custom cocktails named after their pets were served all night long. Cold sparkers set a fun tone as the couple and their guests danced the night away before the newlyweds made a memorable exit with a sparkler send-off. — Allexa Whitehouse

Celebrated:

THE AISLING AT TROY BURNE GOLF CLUB, HUDSON

Date: JUNE 14, 2024

Madeline Smith and Brendon Poland’s wedding at The Aisling at Troy Burne Golf Club was the perfect blend of elegance and fun. On a sunny June afternoon, the venue’s airy, light-filled spaces complemented the couple’s classic color palette of rose quartz, pinks, ivory and black. Brendon and the groomsmen enjoyed the golf simulator in the groom’s suite while Madeline had a sweet, emotional morning with her mother, mother-in-law and bridesmaids, receiving a surprise scrapbook of memories. Their first look was an intimate moment in which they exchanged personal vows before the outdoor ceremony beneath a stunning floating floral arch. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt touches, including readings from their siblings. The reception kicked off with touching speeches, including a sentimental toast from the bride’s father that brought many to tears. As guests mingled, the couple snuck away for golden hour photos, capturing the beautiful contrast of cotton candy skies and the lush landscape. After dancing the night away, the couple—still in their wedding attire—ended their night with a spontaneous walk to Taco Bell and Kwik Trip where Madeline traded her heels for fuzzy slippers after breaking her toe that morning. It was a day filled with love, laughter and little moments of joy, capping their celebration of a lifetime surrounded by family and friends. — Lizzie Parish
