Unplug with a genuine Pacific escape. The coastline surrounding Port Vila is full of twists and turns. And some of the most beautiful are completely hidden from sight. As is this case with Dream Cove, a private, gated development tucked away on a picturesque headland just 15 minutes drive from downtown Port Vila.
Very few properties put you at ease like Villa 25. As soon as you walk down the tree-lined entrance any inkling of stress evaporates. Birdsong and the quiet rustling of trees is all you'll hear. And with only three villas on the property, seven or eight other guests is as crowded as it ever gets. If you want a genuine escape, this is the place to come.

Where tropical island dreams come true. Dream Cove is dotted with a handful of premium beach houses and among them is Villa 25 – an exceptional boutique property that is loved by visitors who treasure the peace and quiet of this private paradise. THREE PRIVATE VILLAS Although the name suggests just one accommodation option, Villa 25 is in fact, one property with three luxury two-bedroom villas. Although they sit next to each next to each other, they’ve been cleverly staggered so that guests can enjoy their own space. Having said that, Villa 25 creates a ‘community’ feel among guests – like everyone has been let in on a secret – which isn’t far from the truth.
SANCTUARY FOUND One of the first things you notice when you walk into Villa 25 is the lush, meticulously maintained gardens. The abundance of foliage adds to the peaceful ambience and with the resident gardener on-site every morning, there is barely a leaf out of place!
Being a boutique property there is no restaurant. But it’s not a problem as each villa has a full kitchen, and most guests stock up on supplies from the local supermarket. You pass by the supermarket on the way from the airport, which makes this easy.
PRIVATE CHEF ON CALL If you’d prefer to just turn up and have a bunch of supplies ready and waiting for you, Villa 25 has a handy provisions service. You can simply pre-order from a range of different food packages and voila there it is!
If you want to go one step further, Vila 25 can organise a private chef to come and cook for you. Or you can always just pop into Port Vila and enjoy a meal. ENTERTAIN YOURSELF Along with the three villas there is a beachfront lowana (shared area) that has a full entertainers kitchen, a big dining table and some comfy outdoor couches. During the day the shutters open, revealing the view and letting the breeze flow through.
Although you can cook in your own villa, our morning routine began in the lowana. It consisted of ‘dad made’ omelettes, Tanna coffee, fresh tropical fruit, and sitting back and taking in the panoramic views across the glassy waters of Mele Bay. If only you could start every day like this. CHILL TIME From there it is reading time in the morning sun. And depending on how energetic you felt - head off for either a paddleboard, kayak, snorkel off the beach or have a dip in the infinity pool.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN Staying in a boutique property was something of a novelty for our family. On most trips we tend to stay in resorts, but the kids loved the change and enjoyed the tranquil setting just as much as Mum and Dad. And of course, they loved swimming in the pool. As a family holiday alternative, I can highly recommend it. ESCAPE THE HUSTLE If you’re in need of a getaway, i.e. get away from the normal hustle, get away from people, get away from the world – Villa 25 is the ideal choice. Both couples and families will love every minute of the stay. And if you have a group of couples or families, you can hire all three villas and have the entire property to yourself. (Think special occasions such as weddings, important birthdays and milestone anniversaries). Regardless of your motivation, Villa 25 is that private paradise you’ll soon want to return to.
EXPLORING HIDDEN GEMS Vanuatu is home to a diverse, natural landscape that was made for exploration. Across the 82 islands you’ll find live volcanoes, sparkling sea caves, waterfalls and deserted white sands beaches the equal of any in the world. Even if you go no further than Efate, you’ll still have endless options to choose from.
