LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

“TechXtile Start-Up Challenge” – the concept where high tech, added value products and export targets meet As a prestigious world brand in almost all segments of the textile industry Turkish products are preferred for their added value and quality rather then their prices. Strengthened mainly in only the clothing and home textile industry 15 years ago, Turkey stepped forward with value added, smart and technical textile products to compete with cheap products arose notably from Far East. As a world brand in all these specific segments Turkey has been a country preferred to source products especially in the contract market. Investments in technical textiles grow exponentially in Turkey in recent years. Many companies in the field of technical textiles prove their global success by playing an important role in the international market. In parallel with the developments in the world markets, production of technical textiles and product diversity gradually increase in Turkey.

TechXtile Start-Up Challenge To increase added value in exports in the textile sector, to gain new technologies and methods to the industry, do design innovative products, to encourage new initiators and designers and to empower industry-academy cooperation, an important event is organized by UTIB titled “TechXtile Start-Up Challenge” for the 11th time in Bursa, 22-23 October 2019. The finalists will win a lot of advantages and awards including participation in Startup Incubators and Accelerators Program in Milan for 10 days, mentorship support for one year, opportunity to win TRL 200 thousand from TUBITAK in the framework of ULUKOZA Program, meeting expenses of establishing a com4

pany, one year accounting works support, and getting the benefits of the advantages of Incubation Center of Bursa Technical University. Applied as a first in the sector and forming an excellent example for whole industries by Uludag Textile Exporters’ Association (UTIB) with the support of Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA) and Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), the event “International R&D Project Market in Turkish Textile and Apparel Sector”, will be held at Merinos Atatürk Congress and Cultural Center this year with its new concept, 22-23 October 2019. We have recorded significant successes in realizing R&D activities supported by commercializing of project ideas and innovation in our event organized with the cooperation of university-industry for ten years. However, with an aim to push the exports and the textile and ready made garment industries of our country further, we will accept project applications focused on initiation-oriented, commercializing nature and directly applicable in the industry from our initiative nominees. During our preparation processes performed strictly and supported by field activities, we had a chance to know the industrialists better and to understand what they really expect from us. This way we formed the fields and focus of the projects directly with the expectations of the industrialists. We will continue as “TechXtile Start-Up Challenge” with our new concept where high tech, added value products and export targets will meet. We will train

project applicants from the first process of our organization and we will lead them to contribute to the export targets of our country. We have been offering contemporary services by supporting the promotion of our industry with events on the one hand we have been rendering efficient services with the media wing on the other. We have been carrying the messages of our exporters to the right addresses through the rich and professional contents of TFF and Contract Business magazines. We will be at Intertextile Shanghai, Heimtextil Russia and The Hotel Show Dubai fairs with this issue of CONTRACT BUSINESS. I wish success to all of our industrialists and business partners. serving the industry with activities on innovation, value added products and contemporary designs. August/2019

Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles emphasizes more on contract business Uludag Exporters’ Association (UTIB) organizes the Turkish national participation in Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Autumn edition with 22 exhibitors displaying a broad range of products including bedding & toweling, decorative fabrics (upholstery & curtain), sun protection systems, wall coverings, carpets & rugs, outdoor textile products and household products. Despite the fact that China’s economic development has been stabilizing in recent years, the ongoing ‘consumption upgrade’ and diversified market demand are still driving growth in the home textiles industry. In response to the ever-changing market environment, this Autumn’s Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles, 28 – 31 August, continues to enrich its show offerings, presenting more quality suppliers, contract business exhibitors and finished products for visitors. 20

Increased emphasis on contract business The Contract Business 360o concept received much recognition in the 2018 edition as around 16% of visitors reported interest in contract business products. In order to facilitate buyers’ sourcing process, contract business exhibitors will be highlighted this year at the fairground with clearer signage. There will also be a diverse range of events including a forum and display area that will help fairgoers to August/2019

understand different contract textile products and the derived business opportunities.

More finished products to cater to market demand Being Asia’s leading trade platform, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles offers a comprehensive range of home textiles and accessories. Apart from abundant decoration fabrics, finished products are receiving much attention in recent editions. As per the fair’s visitor statistics, the interest towards finished home textile products has increased by around 10% in the past four years. “I am impressed that more exhibitors are using diverse finished products to present an overall impression. Compared to the companies showcasing fabrics alone, these suppliers are more attractive,” Ms Liu Yuan from Shenyan Space Design said at last Autumn fair. Given this growing demand, more suppliers have decided to take advantage of the fair to showcase their finished products. Naturtex, Jaspa Herington, Silkland and Weihai HengTai Woolen Blanket are just a few of the confirmed exhibitors to date. Visitors can expect to source more finished products this edition, ranging from bedding products and carpets & rugs to finished curtains and more. 21

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Investment opportunities in Mexico There’s not the slightest doubt that Mexico is a country of great opportunities for foreign investors in various industries. Mexico officially the United Mexican States is a country in the southern portion of North America. Mexican society is characterized by extremes of wealth and poverty, with a limited middle class wedged between an elite cadre of landowners and investors on the one hand and masses of rural and urban poor on the other. But in spite of the challenges it faces as a developing country, Mexico is one of the chief economic and political forces in Latin America. 32

The country has become a very attractive emerging market for foreign investors. As the Latin America’s third largest economy after Brail and Argentina with a $1.3 trillion GDP and with a population of approximately 120 million, placing it as the 13th largest in the world, Mexico ranks 13th in terms of purchasing power parity worldwide, and it is the 11th largest exporter worldwide.

August/2019

Why Mexico? Mexico is one of the most competitive countries in the world for productive investment due to its macroeconomic and political stability, low inflation, size and strength of its domestic market, economic growth rate and capacity to produce advanced manufacturing (high-tech products). Mexico is also an open economy that guarantees access to international¿ markets through a network of free trade agreements. The country boasts a strategic geographic location and competitive costs to service global markets, as well as a highly–skilled, young workforce.

33

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Compared to most developed countries, Mexico's economy is heavily export-based with 31.5% of its gross domestic product (GDP) from industry and 59.8% from services, as of 2015. Meanwhile, the OEDC and the WTO both rank Mexican workers as the hardest working in the world in terms of annual hours worked and profitability per man-hour. The economy is also making strides when it comes to increased private ownership and favorable business regulation. In 2012, President Enrique Pena Nieto was elected to office promising big changes to the way the country was run. Since then, Mr. Nieto reduced corporate taxes, broke up monopolies, and liberalized its energy industry. Foreign investments are mostly concentrated in towns neighboring the U.S border where many assembly factories are located, as well as in the capital. Thanks to its robust tourism industry, the Yucatan Peninsula also receives substantial foreign investment. Investment mostly comes from the United States and Spain (especially the banking sector).

34

Other sectors receiving significant foreign investment are finance, the automobile industry and the electronics and energy sectors. Mexico’s most promising sectors include: agriculture; agribusiness; auto parts and services; aerospace; education services; energy; environmental technology; franchising; housing and construction; packaging equipment; plastics and resins;

security and safety equipment and services; information technology; transportation infrastructure equipment and services; and travel and tourism services. Mexico’s standing as a leader in the global manufacturing market has been long established, even amidst increased global competition. A big number of Fortune 500 companies and other multi-national companies have turned to Mexico August/2019

in an attempt to cut manufacturing costs. The automotive industry in the country has boomed in recent decades, becoming the fourth largest auto exporter. It recently surpassed Japan as the second-largest US auto parts exporter. Some of the world’s largest automotive companies such as Volkswagen, Toyota, Daimler, General Motors, Nissan and BMW have decided to maintain or increase their production in Mexico recently, or have announced their intention to do so, regardless of the external factors surrounding the US market. The country has signed 32 Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments Agreements with 33 countries, 10 free trade agreements with 45 countries, nine partial scope and economic complementation agreements within the framework of the Latin-American Integration Association (ALADI), and is a member of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP). The country actively participates in multilateral and regional organizations and forums like the World Trade Organization (WTO), Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI).

Sleeping under the stars watching the sky at ‘Wadi Rum Desert’ in Jordan! Among others there are two flash points and incredible experience values in Jordan. They are the country’s two biggest tourist draws: Petra, one of the 7 wonders of the world, and the nearby desert of Wadi Rum.

36

August/2019

Apparently untouched by humanity, Wadi Rum desert is a place of tranquil isolation and simplicity. It must be a unique and thrilling experience sleeping in the desert, Bedouin-style, surrounded by thousands of twinkling stars untainted by artificial light pollution. This area of Jordan is quite isolated and largely inhospitable to settled life. The only permanent inhabitants are several thousand Bedouin nomads and villagers. There is no real infrastructure, leaving the area quite unspoilt. Apart from the Bedouin goat hair tents, the only structures are a few concrete shops and houses and the fort headquarters of the Desert Patrol Corps. British spy Lawrence spent a significant amount of time here during the course of the British-inspired Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire during the First World War (19141918).

Wadi Rum is a short detour from the Desert Highway between Amman and Aqaba. A side road leads to the entrance where you will find the Wadi Rum Visitors Centre, a police office and a lot of potential guides offering camel and 4x4 treks. There are several options for exploring Wadi Rum, and visitors should head for the Visitors’ Centre where they can gather information about the tour operators that would best suit their needs. The genuine attraction of Wadi Rum is the desert itself, best seen by fourwheel drive, pick-up truck or on a camel. Some visitors only spend a few hours in the Wadi, but it's definitely worth taking a guided trip of several days duration, staying overnight in Bedouin camps in the desert.

valley in Jordan, is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan, 60km to the east of Aqaba. It has been inhabited by many human cultures since prehistoric times, such as the Nabateans, who left their mark in the form of rock paintings, graffiti, and temples. Khaz’ali Canyon is one popular spot to visit, with petroglyphs etched into the cave walls depicting humans and antelopes dating back to the Thamudic times. The Wadi’s 74,000 hectares of primeval landscape were designated a Unesco World Heritage site in July 2011. There are several options for exploring Wadi Rum, and visitors should head for the Visitors’ Centre 38

where they can gather information about the tour operators that would best suit their needs. Campsites are the order of the day around Wadi Rum. Camping can range from a goat-hair blanket under the stars at an isolated Bedouin camp to a luxury air-conditioned pod. You can even pitch your own tent in designated areas (enquire about locations at the visitor center). The camping locations are selected according to the time of year, the weather, and the hiking tour type chosen. Despite the online marketing literature, the camps all offer a very similar experience with a similar level of comfort and activities. The Bedouin camps all conform to

certain standards and are checked regularly. There are two types of camps – permanent (which usually have toilet-shower blocks and operate year-round) and temporary (used only occasionally by Bedouin groups or tourists). The Wadi Rum camps are best booked through the visitor center or through local guide operators, either in advance (especially if you want to stay at a particular camp) or on arrival. You can enjoy an overnight stay in inflated bubbles which are very comfortable and cozy, and the view is simply breathtaking. There is an outside patio – relax area, an entrance with a double door (to avoid

the lost of pressure of the bubble), a main bubble with a comfy huge bed and a small bubble with the bathroom (toilet and shower). It is the ideal combination of comfort and immersion in the nature. Enjoy watching stars! There shouldn’t be any parallel to this unmatched fun at any modern premises or rich amenities. When visiting Wadi Rum, remember to bring something warm to wear at night as temperatures can vary from a daytime average of 32°C down to 4°C at night. The meals at the camp are very delicious and satisfying. Made by the camp's private chef, traditional Jordanian food, mostly including meat and vegetables, is cooked in a charcoal-filled pit dug deep into the desert sand. Then it is

Petra: walking back in time tunnel Petra, a Jordanian wonder, is also listed among the “seven wonders of the world”. It has immense archaeological, historical, and architectural value that makes it a jaw-dropping tourist attraction. The water conduit system and the rockcut architecture are the two most notable features of this ancient city. Petra is also nicknamed as the “Rose City” due to the stone color from which it is carved. Petra is not only one seven wonders of the world but is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also listed as one of the "28 Places to See Before You Die” by the Smithsonian magazine. The entrance to Petra awes visitors today, as it has for centuries. Your path might curve through the Siq, a cleft in the rock lined with ancient water channels and dotted with prayer niches, Roman paving stones underfoot. The clop of horses’ hooves echo until suddenly, the intricately carved facade of the Treasury sliced through the shadows, rearing more than 40m up. In the sandy plaza, vendors hawked their wares in a cacophony of English, German, Spanish and Russian. A throbbing generator announces modern civilization: lights, refrigerators, restaurants... Donkeys bray, camels snort and contemplation give way to commerce. From the Petra Church, with its floor of Byzantine mosaics, the city’s layers of Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Nabatean influences are clearly visible. The marble columns of the recently unearthed Blue Church seem incongruous in a cityscape of russet and ochre. Everywhere there are locals with something to sell: Petra of old is a business center, and Bdoul Bedouins have kept the tradition alive. 40

SIX THOUSANDS OF FILES ARE EXPECTED TO BE FINALIZED IN JULY: There are serious uncertainties and difficulties regarding the liquidation /transfer /extension arrangements for the contractors whose works have come to a standstill due to high cost increases. Unlike previous practices, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance is required

to evaluate the applications made to employer administrations. Within this framework, it is expected that the applications of approximately 6 thousand files submitted to the Ministry of Treasury and Finance will be finalized. In addition, in order to avoid similar problems for the coming period; determining a realistic price difference calculation method that will not only aggravate 45

STRUCTURAL REFORMS SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED: With the completion of the elections and the developments in the US on the S-400 issue, political uncertainties were partially left behind; it is time for decisive steps to be taken to solve the problems in the economy. Medium and long-term structural reforms aiming to make the economy efficient and resistant to shocks need to be implemented. TURKISH BANKS SHOULD BE EFFICIENTLY PROMOTED: Letters of guarantee and counter-guarantee problems of our contractors have increased in many markets abroad in the recent period. For the solution, it is important that the Turkish banking system and Turkish banks are promoted effectively and steps are taken to ensure that the letters of guarantee to be received from our banks are accepted directly in these markets and that the issue is brought to the agenda in official contacts. 46

AFRICAN MARKET OF 2.5 TRILLION: With the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement entered into force on July 7, the world's largest commercial market, with an economic size of US $ 2.5 trillion, with 1.2 billion people, has become a good opportunity. This development will facilitate the circulation and expansion of Turkish products in the continent, which the construction sector is closely monitoring as a potential market for the last period, and support our contractors undertaking projects in the region in the input flow. COOPERATION IN THIRD COUNTRIES WITH JAPAN: In the recent cooperation initiatives in the third countries, it is aimed to bring together the entrepreneurial ability of Turkish companies, especially African and Eurasian companies, and local market knowledge with Japan's financing opportunities and technology. this purpose, various activities have been carried out by TMB together with Japanese Ministry, institutions and companies. REAL ESTATE PRICES ARE FALLING: Real estate prices and liquidation of stocks are down in Turkey, in general. Despite the extended tax incentive by the end of 2019, housing sales declined in the first half of the year, and the uncertainty in the economy made

the picture that supply and demand could not meet. While sales are still present in this case the need for housing in Turkey, due to the high interest rates of deposits, it is described as a result of concerns about falling purchasing power in the future. We care that Loda has a “language” that consumers from all walks of life want to use to express themselves. This not only makes us a high quality

60

and accessible brand in the sense of the target, but also a pioneer of a style. The most important aspect of our concept, which draws attention among the leading brands of its own lane with its minimalist and modern style, stems from its authenticity. Therefore, we develop the “Loda design concept” in all our stores and present this concept to the appreciation of our users.

Could you tell us about your investments and new projects for the future? The basis of our investment plans is to expand the store network, to increase production capacity and raise the share of exports. In this context, we moved to our new factory last year in order to built a production-oriented ecosystem with high added value. We aim to increase our production capacity by 300% with our new

factory which has turned into an important production center with its modernized infrastructure. As Loda Furniture, we know that technological breakthroughs that add intelligence to production processes will affect and will pave the way for further changes not only our brand but also the sector. Another issue we are sensitive to is the opening of new stores. Lastly, we opened our store in Izmir and Izmit and in Ramallah. We also continue our growth with getting more dealers for our products.

Would you tell us about your innovative products that you have recently developed? As a result of our R & D activities, as Loda Furniture, we have achieved a significant innovation in the field of furniture. We integrated charging technologies with furniture by integrating the technologies

directly with their target audience and to promote their goods and services at close contact points. The fairs, which are centered on the needs of the consumers and producers has become the most important meeting points of modern times, bringing together both sides and by offering an advantageous platform for more business. As Loda Furniture, we find fairs to be very valuable both for the development of the furniture sector and to provide suitable conditions to generate a high level of business volume. Within this scope, we recently took part in the Furniture Istanbul Fair in Turkey and brought our new collection together for the first time. We are also planning to attend the Isaloni Fair soon.

that shape the future into the new generation furniture. With its wireless charging capability, the Powerboard can be incorporated into many furniture groups from the nightstand to the seat. This wireless technology, enables people to charge their phones on wooden panels without the need for a plug.

What are the trends you observe in your sector? Loft apartments with simple, modern and convenient living spaces have recently become a trend in luxury apartments in our country. These apartments, which generally arise from the transformation of industrial areas, garages or hangars into living space, have started to be included in luxury projects as demand increases. These areas, which are usually located in the lofts, come to the fore with minimum wall usage, longer periods for daylight and mezzanine floors. Loft apartments have a large area and wooden furniture comes to the fore in the decoration. New York, London, Paris and Stockholm are prominent cities in loft architecture. Especially in historically old and crowded cities, the loft is at the forefront of architecture in Europe. The decoration of these apartments is dominated by a liberal view. Don't forget that the furniture

Finally, what do you want to add?

chosen for Loft home decoration can be industrial furniture mixed with wood. It will add a pleasant atmosphere to your place. One of the most important elements in Loft decoration is lighting. In a good loft style, large and pleasing lighting is required. In order to achieve a masculine structure in this style, it is necessary to include vintage retro fabrics and leather upholstery. The Chester effects that were applied to the arm portions of the seats will add a very characteristic look to the decoration.

What are the fairs you have participated at home and abroad? Do you have an upcoming fair to attend? Because of the increasing competition in the 21st century, producing only quality goods and services is not an adequate way to achieve success. In this case, it becomes an important marketing strategy for brands to connect

Steady demand and sales are the sine qua non of a company's ability to survive or maintain its profitability at the desired level. In this case, doing business in the current countries are not enough. There is an obligation to make the business international. This situation also reduces the heavy burden on our state and our businesses. We have taken the power of our state behind us in the world, we have not to left any door of opportunity un-knocked everywhere in the world and to empower the image of Turkish furniture, we give great importance to promote our quality products. In this context, both the Ministry of Economy, the Istanbul Exporters Union and the sector representatives are striving to perform their duties in the best and most efficient manner. The purpose of the sector; is to bring both quality raw material and quality work force together and to combine these two indispensable factor in our designs. With this discipline and perspective, the sector continues to grow by maintaining its profitability day by day. The share and contribution of exports in making this growth lasting is enormous. 61

Innovative products from environmentally friendly production facility‌

Production of polyester yarn with RECYCLED materials

In the fair, colorful polyester yarns produced by using DOPE DYED technology, which ensures color continuity in long-term technical textile projects such as automotive textiles, were also displayed. Yarns that dyed with DOPE DYED technology, which consumes 50 times less electricity and 1500 times less water than bobbin dyed production and is produced under Oeko-tex Standard 100.

resources. The Pet Bottle polyester yarn project, which Korteks launched with an environmentally friendly production approach, supports recycling as well as contributing to a sustainable future.

Production concept that protects the nature Korteks fulfills its responsibility towards the environment while producing innovative products. In order to prevent losses as much as possible in 95% of the yarns produced and to reduce the negative impacts on the environment, it gives additional features such as color and flammability to the yarns during production. A brand new technological solution to the health hazards of polluted air: Sercair! People living in the city spend about 22 hours of their days indoor spaces in their offices, homes, schools and traffic. In these indoor spaces, materials of high insulation value are used to save energy. While the materials used prevent the natural air passage between the indoor and outdoor spaces to a great extent, the materials used in building construction and object production, cleaning chemicals, human factor and many other factors deteriorate the air quality in indoor environments day by day.

In indoor environments, we are exposed to up to 55 times more harmful compounds than open spaces! (ASHRAE) According to the research conducted, in indoor environments, we are exposed to up to 55 times more harmful compounds than open spaces. As a result of these harmful compounds, only air pollution in the houses causes 3.8 million deaths per year. Polluted weather conditions, which cause a significant increase in mortality rates day by day brings along many health problems such as asthma, headache, cardiovascular failures, lung disorders, respiratory problems, depression and shortness of breath. Sercair, the software infrastructure of which is developed in America to provide a better quality, healthier standard of living in indoor areas, conducts analyzes of temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, VOC (volatile organic compound), carbon monoxide and 74

particle amount at the same time and makes the interior air clean without any intervention.

A first in Turkish market and world market Today, various devices such as dehumidifier, humidifier, ionizer, air purifier, ozone generators and UVC lamp are used to regulate indoor air quality. For a healthy fresh air outcome, it is necessary to manage all devices at the same time, constantly monitor the air quality monitors and open the window. Although the process is very difficult to follow, the costs for maintaining the ambient temperature increase. Sercair, a system that eliminates all these difficulties and improves air quality by analyzing the air quality 24 hours a day, combines the tasks of all different air purification devices

in a single device. Sercair, which has been a pioneer in the world market and in the Turkish market with these features it offers to users, also aims to minimize health problems caused by indoor air pollution due to usage.

Sercair improves the quality of life of its users! Turkey Brand Sales Director and Board Member Burak OnkardeĹ&#x;ler, who states that Sercair detects the humidity level of the interior space with smart humidity sensors and regulates it in a fully automatic manner with the humidity units inside the device and keeps it at the ideal level, says that thanks to this feature, the product provides a comfortable sleep for both babies and adults and improves the quality of life of its users. OnkardeĹ&#x;ler who conveys that Sercair that August/2019

traps harmful components with air purification filters prevents breathing polluted air, adds that the product captures dust, pet hair, oil smell, perfume and detergent odors, pollen, mold and bacteria that cannot be seen indoors. Sercair product features; • Analysis of temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, VOCs and particle content by means of specially designed sensors • Cleans the room air with activated carbon, pollen and hybrid filters and filters small particles, pollen, dust, odor particles, animal hair and bacteria in the air. • Makes a summary of all indoor and outdoor air sensor values on a weekly basis by making a retrospective evaluation and analysis • Low power consumption and very low noise level • Timely and easy filter replacement by warning thanks to Sercair.App application • Many mode options. Security, comfort and privacy take shape in the tourism sector Touristic towns and city hotels have more comprehensive security by using less human resources with new generation smart security technologies. Sensormatic offers an end-to-end solution to the specific security needs of the hospitality industry, providing guests with a comfortable and safe accommodation experience While the traffic of the guests in the hospitality sector increases with the summer period, the basic need does not change both in touristic residences and city hotels throughout the year: Providing a more comfortable and safe accommodation experience with less human intervention. To meet this need, Sensormatic's 25 years of experience and industry expertise in end-to-end service is offered through intelligent security technologies. The fact that the comments on the internet and social media have become the determining factor in the choice of accommodation causes the customer experience gain more importance in hotels and touristic facilities. Moreover, while ensuring the satisfaction of the guests, legal regulations regarding tourism sector should be fully implemented and all security measures within the residences should be strictly enforced.

Intelligent imaging technologies and video analysis In accordance with legal regulations, entry and exit records are kept in 80

all hotels meticulously. However, especially in holiday resorts, since X-ray inspection or other security measures at the entrance and exits that interfere with the accommodation experience will adversely affect the comfort of guests, security processes in the tourism sector is largely conducted through monitoring systems. It is vital to correctly perceive and read the detected data in video surveillance systems and to detect the possible negativity at an early stage and to process security scenarios. Providing the safety of the people staying in the hotel for business or holiday purposes as well as providing privacy for them are among the primary duties of the hotel management. The rooms where the images recorded in the residences and stored should be well protected and the authorization of the people who will reach these images should be done correctly. Privacy, which is essential for hotel guests to feel safe, is ensured through Sensormatic's advanced authorization and access control systems. Artificial intelligence-assisted video analysis technologies can detect people or objects by quickly scanning

hours of images recorded in hotels or tourist sites. Avigilon Appearance Search is able to quickly detect forgotten bags or a child who is separated from his or her family as a result of its deep analysis of the images recorded at key points such as a lobby, restaurant and elevator where human traffic is intense, and then alert security teams. In the video analysis system used up until today, it was possible to see when the selected object, the sample bag, was left there. Thanks to this solution, it is possible to search the images taken by different cameras in the same area and see where the person leaving the bag came from, when he/she left it and where he/she went afterwards.

It is possible to have keyless, even cardless access to hotel rooms Especially in city hotels, card access control systems are used for safe entrance and exit to rooms and offices. In some hotels, access security starts from elevators. The room cards of the guests are matched with the floor number of the rooms. In this way, the person can only go up to the floor where his / her room is located and the malicious people August/2019

are prevented from travelling on different floors. However, thanks to mobile access control systems, the room number is identified on the guest's mobile device. This way, the guest does not need to carry a card or key to enter his / her room.

It is a must to take the necessary precautions against fire risk The hotel management is obliged to intervene in the slightest incident occuring in the residences where the guest traffic cycle is very intense and customer training is not possible for fire and similar risks. Thanks to the continuous operation of the security systems and the creation of smart warnings, the negative incidents occurring in the building can be detected on a room basis and necessary security scenarios can be operated. Sensormatic's Remote Fire Monitoring Service provides higher performance detection and reduces maintenance and management costs. Remote monitoring helps to monitor, maintain and service fire detection equipment safely and efficiently. With the technology that reaches the systems via remote internet connection, the fire system data of the facility can be monitored live and system maintenance can be performed. In order to ensure security and solve maintenance needs, the relevant units can receive instant SMS and e-mail notifications from fire systems. Thus, service calls become at least 25% more efficient. Customer satisfaction increases as it is intervened more quickly and in a timely manner.

Sensormatic's integrated solutions exclusive for the tourism sector Sensormatic offers end-to-end security solutions and services as well as providing hotels with exclusive solutions thanks to its 25 years of

experience. Sensormatic, designing the most effective security system that needs to be built according to the guest profile, average stay duration and guest volume, provides installation and integration of cost-effective, remotely controllable, sustainable technologies that will minimize all kinds of negativity and risks.

PLURAL exalts the concept of color mixing and the non-whiteness of bathrooms, proclaiming that yes, it’s OK TO MIX THINGS UP. The furniture feeling of its design insures a homey and domestic environment in your new bathroom; a vintage ’salotto’ is more the feeling. New technology feels at home here too: there are 3 innovative ’syphon systems’ which enable PLURAL to be so free.

KLEO MiniBar, which has been exporting to nearly 50 countries since its establishment, and increasing its brand value and strong position with the new product features that are introduced to the market every year, continues its R&D and P&D activities at its fast pace. "We can make a big surprise at any moment," says KLEO MiniBar Sales Manager Ozgur Yegin. We talked about his company's targets in domestic and foreign market.

Can you tell us about your activities and product range by introducing KLEO MiniBar? Which equipment network do you serve to the HoReCa sector?

Kleo has been exporting nearly to 50 countries since its inception. Since we take place in very serious projects, our international market share is increasing day by day. It maintains its brand value and its strong position in the country.

KLEO MiniBar has become one of the best-known brands. Our company, working with all national and international firms, is constantly updating its products and services by taking pre-sales and post-sales feedbacks instead of giving priceoriented services at the sales stage. Our product portfolio includes products such as minibars, kettles, wooden presentation trays and luggage stands. We are one of the few companies in the market that specializes only in in-room equipment. Which sectors and regions do you address mainly in Turkey? What is your competitive power and market share in your sector? KLEO takes part in many special projects such as hotels, dormitories, guesthouses and hospital rooms, 92

such as offices, vehicles, life support containers, military projects that require personal use. It is possible to see a Kleo product at almost every hotel. We take part in most of the room investments not only in health tourism but also in transportation and public investments as well as in private institutions such as banks, factories and trade unions.

to the fact that the rooms are more convenient and they are designed for easy use of room equipment. While hotels often prefer room equipment for competition at global standards, in recent years they have started to focus on green, secure, easy to clean and hygienic products. Products that are healthy and easy to clean, that provide ventilation, sound insulation, electrical and fire

The feedbacks we get from our suppliers constitute our most important R&D resource. What is important is the evaluation of our products, services and innovations. In this respect, we are among the rare companies in the sector, which maintains the highest level of bilateral relations with corporate buyers. Therefore, in light of the information received, our R&D and P&D activities are progressing very rapidly. For example, in 2016, we added RTC (Real Time Clock) to our Ekovat (Mini Compressor) System Mini Bar, which has energy class A +++, in line with the returns from ANFAS Fair 2015. Our Ekovat System Mini Bar has 2.5 times better cooling power compared to our Absorbed System Mini Bar and consumes 6 times less energy. Thus, we are proud to be the first and the only company to produce A +++ products in energy class in the sector.

Function is more important that investment costs. Considering the costs, by having long-lasting products serious savings are obtained. In line with our targets, we increase our production capacity and number of personnel. We started to produce Turkey's first 20-liter minibar at the request of an international hotel chain. The Kleo MiniBar is recognized every year as a company launching new product or a new offering. Our R & D and P & D activities continue to last. We can make a big surprise every moment.

In recent years, including some major brands, the main product groups, in order to accelerate the entry of the market, imported icecold mini refrigerator products from China designed for personal retail users, and offer them as a minibars in the sector. Made carpets. Unlike other domestic brands, our brand is the first in its class in Turkey by producing from natural materials such as Tencel, viscon, bamboo, wool for the luxury segment of the jet, yachts, hotels and houses in the special patterns and special sizes.

How much investment did you make for your new brand? What’s in Dolce Vita collections of 2019? We’ve made the highest investment Massimo to compose a global brand in Turkey and worldwide. You are an active company in online sales and social media usage. How much of your sales in the domestic market are made online? Today, social media is the most important channel for expressing themselves of brands. Being aware of this fact, we do product promotions for young, social responsibility projects and occasional gift draws. We also transfer most of our advertising to the social media. We use online sales in the domestic market to improve our brand awareness, not for profit. Our first priority in this issue is to protect our dealers from the low price danger on the internet.

Anything else you’d like to add? We make a great investment in branding and exports to contribute to the national economy at a time when our country is currently in economic trouble. We promise to work harder for our country with the awareness that our salvation as a country passes through composing Turkish brands in the world.

What are the features for kids’ vulnerability in Dolce Vita Kids collection? Our main priority in Dolce Vita Kids collection is to produce carpets that do not affect children’s health and do not contain carcinogens. Our products have very important features for example they are lint-free because fluffs damage children and patients with asthma. 95
