He become the talk-of-the-town with his reprisal of the iconic role of Eduardo Buenavista in Pangako Sa ’yo. Push lists five things that make the actor endearing to the public.

Ian entered show business at a young age and starred in movies like Mang Kepweng and Son alongside comedian Chiquito and Never Say Goodbye with Vilma Santos. He also did a sitcom with actor-host Joey De Leon entitled, Joey and Son.

Some of the action films he did included Zaldong Tisoy: Batang Gagalangin ng Tondo, Bukas… Tatakpan Ka Ng Dyaryo, and Ben Balasador: Akin Ang Huling Alas, among others.

Aside from being active outdoors, Ian is also in touch with his artistic side. He must have gotten his love for painting from his father, Roy Veneracion who is also a painter. Ian has held his own painting exhibits.

Ian loves outdoor activities. In his recent interview on Aquino and Abunda Tonight, Ian revealed that he jogs two miles a day and engages in boxing. Also, he mentioned on the show that he mountain climbs with Teen King Daniel Padilla. Aside from these, Ian also enjoys paragliding, motocross, basketball, scuba diving, and skydiving, among others.

Ian married Pam Gallardo in 1994 when he was 22 years old. They have two sons and a daughter. Ian has been vocal about not wanting his kids to enter show business because he said he wants them to have their own adventure and avoid the “padrino” culture.

s part of the current Primetime Bida hit Pangako Sa ‘Yo, Ian Veneracion admitted he feels blessed to be offered the role of Eduardo Buenavista in the remake of the popular series. “Thank you but wala akong special secret. I admit that I am 40 na so all the more I am thankful for being given this opportunity to work with the likes of Jodi Sta. Maria and Angelica Panganiban who are so much younger than me,” he told Push. com.ph. Having been happily married for over 18 years now to his non-showbiz wife, Ian admitted even his children were impressed with his youthful looks on-cam. “My 17-yearold kid, my panganay says, ‘Dad, you look so young there.’ Eh ang galing eh, it’s the whole team on the show, yung mga makeup artists, ang galing ng lighting directors namin. Mag-ka-college na yung panganay ko. My daughter is in high school and I also have an eight-year-old so tatlo sila,” he said. After first playing the father of Daniel Padilla in Got to Believe last year, Ian said being on the set with him again is much more comfortable now because of their closer relationship with each other. “This is the second time na anak ko si DJ and of course I’m happy to be working with them again kasi sobrang magkakasundo kami and especially on this show na napakalaki and I’m really proud of that,” he added. The Pangako Sa ‘Yo actor said he is happy DJ has been sharing his love for the outdoors during their excursions out-of-town. “We’re so close. He’s almost like a son to me and even outside work nagkakasama kami. Sinasama ko din siya pag may adventures ako na off-roading, pag umakyat

ng bundok magkakasama din kami so we’re very close. He’s like a son so I’m happy that maganda yung career path niya and as a person he’s matured and he’s choosing the right path,” he explained. Ian revealed that aside from good family genes, he also gets his youthful good looks by always trying to be active with different kinds of activities. “I really like to run. I run every other day before the show started and yun yung pinaka-exercise ko na. I cook so I like eating so imbis mag-diet I’ll just choose to do more exercises like boxing and running. I’m also a big fan of the great outdoors. I’m a paraglider pilot because that was my college course before. I hold a license. And then I went into skydiving and then mga four years ago I went into paragliding. Even my kids are solo flyers. I also love sailing, I love climbing Mt. Makulot and Mt. Banahaw. And I’m always with my kids,” he said. With the “Dad Bod” mentality in season now, Ian said he hopes not to let his body look too different from how it is now. “I don’t have a six-pack that’s for sure but I play basketball, I play tennis, I play football. Siguro your body is just a reflection of the things that you do and I’m not a big fan of the gym kasi I’m afraid to be vain. I don’t see myself carrying weights and looking in the mirror and posing. That’s just not me. So I’d rather do martial arts or boxing or something where may hinahabol kang na bola or may ka-spar ka na tao, yung ganun. Yung competitive nature in me likes yung mga ganun. Pero wala akong abs kahit kailan (laughs),” he said.

To Anne Curtis “Hindi ko alam bakit gandang ganda kayo kay Anne eh ang laki laki naman ng bibig ng babaeng yan!” Anne came to the event and had a catty off-stage EXCHANGE with Vice where they discussed the type of film and their favorite Disney Princesses which ended up with Anne belting a few lines of Frozen’s “Let It Go.”

To The Audience “Marami na akong nakilalang lalaki... mga minahal ko, mga lalaking pinakilig ang tumbong ko...” We don’t really want to assume here but perhaps a lot would agree that the last few words sound really familiar. One that involved Teen King Daniel Padilla and a leaked recording.

To The Audience “Hindi ko alam bakit kayo nagbayad ng halos P7,000 tapos itong mukhang ito lang ang gusto niyong makita niyo!” At the start of his concert, Vice thanked the thousands who trooped to his sold-out concert and opted to spend time with him instead of having a good Friday night out somewhere else.

To Jasmine Curtis “Ah single pala ah!” It was actually Jasmine’s Ate Anne who announced on the mic after her banter with Vice that her sister is single. It may be recalled that Jasmine’s breakup with boyfriend Sam Concepcion made headlines recently allegedly due to Anne’s disapproval of the latter.

To Karylle “Tignan mo ‘yung damit niya akala mo ang bait bait sa harap pero pagtingin mo likod ayun pokpok pala!” Despite being a “love team” one could almost always expect to hear a feisty comment from Vice about Karylle and the former’s concert wasn’t any different.

To Vhong Navarro “Tumestigo pa ako sayong hayop ka!” This was perhaps the line that first shocked the audience. This was in reference to Vhong’s controversial case last year after he was assaulted by businessman Cedric Lee’s group.

To Vhong Navarro “Ay oo mahilig ka naman talaga sa foods!” As if the previous line wasn’t enough, Vice once again poked fun at Vhong’s previous case and the line “foods” which was in reference to what model Deniece Cornejo supposedly texted him before he went to her condominium in Taguig.

To The Audience “Kahit matabang-mataba ka pa ay okay lang, basta siguraduhin mo na ang pinangkakain mo ay hindi galing sa pinaghirapan ng mga kababayan mo.” As part of his closing words for his audience, Vice, who’s very active in proclaiming his disgust for corruption, took a swipe at the corrupt officials who continue to serve their own INTERESTS and pocket the public’s money.

To Billy Crawford “Bakit si Coleen lang ba ang nakakahawak niyan?” In a totally funny segment, Vice gamely joked at touching the private parts of Vhong and Billy despite the two feeling awkward. While Billy didn’t budge when Vice tried to touch his, he reasoned out that his girlfriend Coleen was in the audience and could see what Vice was doing to him.

To James Reid “May mga gwapong bulol no pero yung pagkabulol nila kinakagwapo nila pero kapag si Ryan Bang kasi iba ang dating!” Being called by Vice himself “the star of the night” didn’t save the FilAustralian hunky actor from being poked fun of the Gandang Gabi Vice host. Vice even elicited laughs due to his many attempts to speak in straight English with James, who as it turns out, understands Filipino well.

Dito makikita na marami ng followers si Darren at sikat na sa ibat ibang bansa kaya malaki ang chance na dalhin sa ibang lugar ang kanyang Birthday concert. Sa opening song number naging futuristic ang tema at napanood si Darren na lumabas mula sa isang control room na nag segue na sa kanyang unang appearance sa stage na nagsigawan na ang mga tao sa audience. Back to back opening ang ipinamalas ni Darren at isa sa mga kanta dito ang "Domino" na trademark song na niya, at first time na napanood na humataw siya sa sayawan at nakisabay sa GForce. Sa kanyang opening spiels di maitago ang saya ni Darren dahil mainit ang suporta sa kanya ng fans. "This is the best birthday gift ever! Kagabi po di ako nakatulog sobra po ako excited at kinakabahan sa mga mangyayari ngayon." Nagpasalamat din si Darren sa mga importanteng tao sa buhay niya. "Thank you Mom and Dad for always supporting me, mga relatives namin from the province and abroad who flew in dito sa Manila para mapanood at maki birthday sa akin. Tonight this stage is mine!"

Darren Espanto’s well-attended D Birthday Concert at the Mall of Asia Arena was in more ways than one a real testament of his pure talent. That more than anyone else he truly deserves and that he can live up to the title “The Total Performer.” But more than having a solo concert, Darren’s show became nostalgic as the boy with big dreams reminisced how he made it to where he was right now – how he’s now slowly ticking things off his bucket list all thanks to his foray at The Voice Kids last year. In a way, the concert revealed not only his brilliant entertaining skills but his true character as a person which makes him stand out as an ideal young performer of today.

The Voice Kids runner-up Darren Espanto sure had a memorable 14th birthday celebration as he made history as the youngest performer to stage a solo concert at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 29. Titled D Birthday Concert, the young Total Performer once again did not disappoint the thousands of Darrenatics who supported his third solo major concert. Darren obviously upped his performances for his MOA concert as he had futuristic effects, more detailed costumes, and more personal acts and stories for his audience. Although he had more special guests this time—namely Robi Domingo, Bimby Aquino-Yap, The Voice of the Philippines’ Alisah Bonaobra, Jason Dy, and Mitoy Yonting, and first Asia’s Got Talent winner El Gamma Penumbra—it was Darren’s performances that shone throughout the show. Though there are some others acts as well that are worth mentioning.

He never fails to acknowledge his fans, their support and his humble beginnings Darren, more than once during the concert and even during his previous interviews and appearances, recognized that he couldn’t be where he is today had it not for the unwavering support of his Darrenatics. The “In Love Ako Sa’Yo” singer whose debut album turned GOLD recently, even cited how his global fans are celebrating their first anniversary

He is very vocal in expressing gratitude to his parents for the sacrifices they made for him It’s no secret that their parents who are based in Canada had to sacrifice a lot, being away from each other for instance, since he auditioned on The Voice Kids last year and until today. During the concert, aside from serenading them with Diana Ross’ “Home,” Darren also thanked his parents through a heartfelt message about how they readily gave up being together just to support him in pursuing his dreams.

El Gamma Penumbra’s ‘Colors of the Wind’ Fresh from their Asia’s Got Talent WIN, El Gamma Penumbra sampled off a short performance of their signature shadow play for Darren’s fans.

Dance number with Robi Domingo Darren and Robi’s performance could very well be described as explosive. Although Robi is best known as a host, he more than proved he’s an equally competent dancer.

He continues to up his ante and competes only with himself

Whether he’s sharing the stage with someone his age or older than him, Darren is not one to just gobble up the spotlight all to himself. This was very much apparent during his performances on D Birthday Concert with his younger sister Lynelle, his Daddy Lyndon and even his ‘pseudo’ baby brother Bimby Aquino-Yap.

Instead of just singing hits that could make his audience sing or dance along with him, Darren made sure to display his faith when he included a solemn performance of “Tell The World of his Love” and “Allelujah.” That alone is a very uncommon act among young performers these days.

Although he’s been pitted against his co-The Voice Kids finalists many times, Darren has incessantly denied the existence of any competition among them. In fact, he just makes sure to top his own previous performances like when he perfectly sang Basil Valdez’s “Ngayon” in the concert, which happened to be his last song on The Voice Kids.

‘Stand Up for Love’ with Alisah and Jason Mic malfunction notwithstanding, it’s really no surprise that Darren was able to keep up with two adult singers in his production number with Alisah and Jason. In fact, Darren’s exceptional singing skills just soared during the latter part of the song.

Duet with Mitoy

Brothers dance prod with Bimby Their performance of famous dance hits like Rico J Puno’s “Macho Gwapito,” Vhong Navarro’s “Totoy Bibo,” Parokya ni Edgar’s “Mr. Suave” and Vice Ganda’s “Boom Panes” was one that the audience thoroughly enjoyed. Bimby, during his banter with Darren, even shared that he wants to have a concert at the MOA Arena in the FUTURE.

Duet with Daddy Lyndon Darren apparently got his singing skills from his father Lyndon with whom he performed “You Raise Me Up”. Although Daddy Lyndon was obviously nervous while performing he never allowed it to show in his singing as he performed with his only son. Acapella performance of ‘For God So Loved the World’ Early this year, Darren had the privilege of performing for visiting Pope Francis. In a very touching and solemn moment during the concert, Darren soulfully performed “For God So Loved the World” together with a bunch of different choir groups.

Darren’s version of Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ Darren made sure to do away from the well-known intense vocals of “Chandelier” as he offered some softness to his rendition by opening it accompanied by only a piano before going all out.

Darren’s fans consider him as a champion no matter what and this he was able to prove when he and the first The Voice of the Philippines winner Mitoy Yonting did a duet of Fantasia Barrino’s winning piece “I Believe.” The husky voice of Mitoy just BLENDED well with Darren’s smooth voice.

Futuristic opening act Laser lights and a futuristic outfit, Darren channeled his idol King of Pop Michael Jackson as he performed his hit “Slave to the Rhythm” complete with snappy dance moves and solid singing prowess.

Song and dance number with sister Lynelle Perhaps the cutest surprise performance that night was when Darren shared the stage with his baby sister Lynelle to the tune of “I Want You to Know.” Their banter afterwards also showed how close the two are as siblings.

Originally from the Abztract Dancers, Dino now dances along to UPDATED tunes along with his son, Joaquin. Dino’s intensity may have mellowed, but is nonetheless present, as is his hairy chest.

Already a dad to teenage son Andrei, Jomari may not be as buff as he was years ago, but there’s no denying that his dark and mysterious appeal still has the same effect as it had back then.

Eric’s boy-next-door appeal transitioned to tough guy roles in the latter years. A father of two, Eric has stepped into big boy shoes as he juggles acting with his construction business.

The tough guy is now a father of two and has pursued a new passion, one which would literally have women waiting in line for him. Chef Victor (a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in France, no less) specializes in French and Asian flavors, and who wouldn’t want a taste of that? JAPAN EDITION FREE

Jodi Sta Maria will be now portraying Amor Powers. Jodi also says being Amor is very different for her after her portrayal of the soft-spoken Maya in phenomenal daytime soap Be Careful With My Heart.

Claudia Buenavista Her political family helped saved the falling Buenavista empire, Claudia was thrust into a loveless marriage to Eduardo. Jean Garcia first portrayed the feisty Claudia and role has made her one of the established actresses of her generation. She was last seen on TV in the soap Half Sisters. Angelica Panganiban is now Claudia Buenavista, giving a new twist in the soap’s iconic character. The actress says the role fits her perfectly.

Diego Buenavista Diego is the eldest son of the Buenavistas but has always played second fiddle to his brother Eduardo. Diego Buenavista was played by actorpolitician Jestoni Alarcon in the original. He is still active in show business and was last seen in the series Nino. In the new Pangako Sa ‘Yo, Diego will be portrayed by Bernard Palanca.

Caloy Macaspac The eldest child of Belen and Isko, he makes Yna’s life a nightmare because he feels his parents’ cares more for their adoptive child. Caloy was first played by actor Jay Manalo. He is still active on TV and was last seen in the series Nino. Joem Bascon in his interview on Kapamilya Chat revealed that he will be taking on the role of Caloy in the remake.

eng Constantino just launched her new restaurant The Ostrich Farm recently. Aside from burgers made out of ostrich patties, the new resto also serves salads, fresh juices, and a whole lot more. Yeng enthusiastically shared with the media during the launch how they came up with the idea of building this unique restaurant.

“Nangyari ‘to after our wedding, ito na ‘yung bagong pinapasok naming dalawa ngayon bilang mag- asawa. Ang business partners namin dito ang family nila may ostrich farm sa Cotabato lang, South Cotabato so ayon naisip nila ang concept na ganito na gumawa ng restaurant. Tapos wala namang… parang ito ‘yung first ever na makarinig ng ostrich na ganito na nagbebenta, ng ganito so ayun. Business partners ko na sila for Garage 88 (Yeng’s first restaurant) so don nag-start. Tapos nag-uusap na kami. Sabi ko sa kanya meron kaming interest ni Yan (Asuncion, her husband) na to go into business even noon engaged pa kami tapos sinabi niya meron pa kaming isa kung gusto mag-partners. Tapos ‘yung in-open nila ‘yung opportunity nag- jump in na kami,” she relayed.

Yeng further relayed that their business partners were actually the ones who sponsored their wedding cocktails and they received great feedback. “Pero before non nag-sponsor muna sila sa cocktails and drinks for our wedding at ang ganda ng feedback ng lahat ng tao sabi tapos sobrang sarap ng burger don sa cocktail pa lang.” The Pop Rock Princess said that she did not have any hesitations when they were initially planning the business. “Wala naman kasi pareho kasi kam ni Yan, kami sobrang adventurous kami, kung may bago, parang tara sabayan natin ‘yung ganon. Kasi siya ‘yung klaseng person na parang if challenging siya it’s not something na magpapa-back out sa amin kasi we know na magbubunga ‘to in the future, na hindi lang for us, pati na ‘yung sa vision namin for the family.” Yeng believes that this just the start of their entrepreneurial adventures since she wants to create more businesses in the future. “Feeling namin ni Yan starting point pa lang ‘to eh kasi magga-gather pa kami ng wisdom, knowledge about this. The 34-year-old singer shared how she lost the WEIGHT. “I had a pictorial kasi so I’m running pa rin, I also do kickboxing, yoga and swimming. But I love to eat. I can’t stop. I have switched to brown rice,” she admitted. Karylle said she is not choosy about having a girl or boy or even twins. “You know what I’m never really picky like that. So now I’m trying to be a storyteller if that makes sense,” she shared. Karylle said she and Yael have become closer because of the lifestyle they lead because of music. “My single ‘Can’t Shut Up’ is out now. It’s on iTunes and that was an anniversary gift to Yael. What do you give to a musician? What would make him happiest? Siyempre pag naka-buo ka ng song. I’ve recorded a couple of songs. We’re down to our last four with some remixes here and there. It’s also been fun traveling with him. So we went to Abu Dhabi, Qatar and we went to Bulacan for the Northern Lights festival. ormer PBA Player and comedian Bonel Balingit is now happily settled in Cebu City. In an interview with Push.com.ph, Bonel shared that he is currently active with charity work and presently working on his business in Cebu.

“Nasa Cebu ako merong konting hanapbuhay, active ako sa humanitarian service. Don umiikot ang time ko dahil masaya ako pag nagagawa ko ang ganyang bagay. Wala naman akong anak na binubuhay dahil wala naman tayong lahi.” Bonel is married, but has no children. He starred in various hit comedy movies before and he shared that even until now, people still recognize him more as a comedian more than a PBA player. “Yung mga kabataan na ‘yun sa probinsya hindi nila ako natandaan as basketball player. Edgar Allan or EA, on the other hand, said that his impersonation of Daniel Padilla was the easiest. “Ako po nadalian ako kay Daniel Padilla kasi sobrang sarap niya lang i-impersonate eh. At saka feeling ko, ang pogi pogi ko kasi ‘yung mga audience tumitili so nakaka-ano rin ng energy. Tapos sobrang ginaganahan ako ‘pag tumitili sila so feeling ko, ako si Daniel Padilla.” Melai said, “Ako pinakanadalian talaga ako dun kay Ms. Elizabeth Ramsey nga kasi nga kuwan kami, parang pareho kaming Bisaya ba… Nadalian ako sa salita, sa mga diction, sa kanta ng ‘Waray Waray’. Sobrang pagkadali sa akin at nanalo pa ako ng P100,000.” Moreover, she later added that it was also her husband Jason Francisco’s favorite performance.

Meanwhile, his hardest was his portrayal of Toni Gonzaga because, “Naka-heels ako, at the same time, kumakanta tapos yung shoulders ko po napakalaki, ang hirap pong dalhin.” Nyoy revealed his easiest portrayal. “Kung madali sa madali po, pinakamadali kong ginawa ‘yung nag-Aegis kami ni Jolina (Magdangal). Tapos naka-tangga pa. Parang panty na ‘yung ano ko (suot).”

Melai wowed the audience during the grand showdown with her performance of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball.” Nyoy Volante, who impersonated Whitney Houston got the second spot in the competition with 24.52 percent of votes.

Third place went to Jay-R, who in the grand showdown did an exemplary impersonation of Frank Sinatra. Jay-R

garnered 16.1 percent of votes. The final spot went to Edgar Allan Guzman, who impersonated his idol Chris Brown for the grand showdown. Edgar got 7.47 percent of votes. Melai was emotional when she was announced the winner because she says, “Hindi naman talaga ako magaling.” The former Pinoy Big Brother Big Winner added, “God works in mysterious ways.” Melai won 2 million pesos but half of it will go to her chosen charity, Alay Kapwa Desk of the Social Action Center of the Diocese of Marbel. Jason Francisco joined Melai onstage and the couple was giddy with excitement for Melai’s WIN. Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil opened the finale episode of YFSF and the viewers noticed how Liza’s tube loosened because of a wardrobe malfunction. Liza’s wardrobe malfunction became a trending topic on Twitter. Your Face Sounds Familiar will be returning to television soon as Billy Crawford announced last Saturday the show has been renewed for a second season.

ppointed as a National Ambassador Against Hunger, KC Concepcion held a photo exhibit on Nepal with photographer Mark Nicdao with shots taken from their trip to Nepal two years ago. For KC, this was her CHANCEto collaborate with Mark who has also been a close friend to her for over a decade. “I’ve been with the United Nations World Food Programme for seven years now and for the first time nagtanong ako sa U.N kung puwede ako magdala ng kaibigan or somebody na alam ko ma-a-appreciate yung experience at meron din siyang makukuha from that experience na hindi lang yung basta nag-enjoy, parang ganun. So who else but a really good friend of mine who has been my official photographer for ten years now. For ten years we’ve been a tandem, we’ve done shoots in fashion, for advertising and for the first time we did something for the soul. Mark is one of the Philippines’ top photographers and I’ve seen him grow through the years and he’s seen me grow as an artist. Yung friendship namin goes beyond fashion and advertising,” she shared during the exhibit opening held at the SM Megamall Atrium last June 1. The 30-year-old actress said this is their way of helping raise FUNDS for the country which was recently hit by devastating earthquakes. “Yung mga pictures ng Nepal, yung mga children and then the mothers. A lot of the shots are mother and child and kids because we went to a school feeding. We decided na we would keep the photos for a personal collection but of course when the earthquake happened, nung tayo nagka-Yolanda yung buong mundo came together to help us and sabi namin this is the best time for the Philippines naman to do something for yung mga bansang pinagdadaanan din yung tulad ng pinagdaanan nating calamities. Tingin ko bilang Pilipino it’s our turn to help,” she explained. In fact even before the exhibit opened, her family has already pledged their support for the exhibit and despite recent news that she and her mom Sharon Cuneta are not on good terms. “I’ve asked her. I’ve actually texted my family. My step dad and my sisters are coming tomorrow. Tapos si papa (Gabby Concepcion) nasa States. Siyempre supportive naman yung mommy ko. You know we’re mother and daughter. I will love my mom. My mom is my mom forever so I will love her forever,” she said. Even though KC hints at a longstanding rift between them, she chooses not to go into detail about the issue. “As any mother and daughter we’re not perfect but I feel na to protect her ayoko na magsalita at palakihin yung issue. And because I love my family I feel na I’m very hopeful na whatever we’ve been going through for a long time now will be fixed,” she added. For the first time since news of him getting sick and losing his voice made rounds early this year, Your Face Sounds Familiar judge Jed Madela opens up about his fears when he learned about his acute laryngitis. Acute laryngitis in simple terms is the inflammation of the larynx also known as the voice box. Among the possible reasons why a person contracts it was due to vocal misuse, exposure to poisonous agents or infectious agents that could sometimes lead to upper respiratory tract infections. In an interview with Jed during the recent launch of his album Iconic, he shared that although it was serious he knew that it was treatable especially when diagnosed on its early stages. “Naano lang talaga, I pushed myself too hard during the last few months of 2014. So ‘yun I lost my voice for more than a month. As in totally walang boses. I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t sing. I wrote everything on paper,” he said. According to Jed, he learned about his condition in the middle of recording his album and while working at the same time. Jed admitted that he got scared that his voice might not return. “I became very paranoid sabi ko baka hindi na bumalik. Sabi ko ‘Babalik paba ang boses ko? This is the only thing I can do that I know I do really well. ‘Pag kinuha pa sakin ang boses na ito ano nalang ang gagawin ko?’ Hindi naman ako businessman, hindi naman ako business-oriented na tao and you know how can I survive?” he revealed. The world champion says he owes a lot to his strong support system who stayed by his side during the entire time that he was recuperating from his condition. “There was a lot of paranoia buti nalang I was surrounded by people who really supported me like my family, my friends. They guided me. Ayun, they assured me na ‘No matter what happens you’ll be fine.’ And of course, constant prayer. Talagang ‘yun ang maging strength ko,” he shared. Thankfully though, Jed happily shared that it didn’t affect his pitch saying that, “At first, during the first few months earlier this year hindi ko siya pinu-push kasi baka magkaroon ng permanent damage. I noticed I’d get tired easily, mapapaos ako agad or mauubo ako kaagad, siguro it takes time to heal talaga. Just like any sickness kailangan talaga ng pahinga, so that’s what I did. Based on sa lumabas naman sa album, the voice is back naman.” What he learned now that he’s fully recovered according to Jed is to listen more to his body. “I already realized na tao lang ako, hindi pwedeng go lang ng go lagi. Eh medyo nagkaka-edad narin tayo and I saw that I have to slow down a bit and learn how to say no,” he said. Yung showbiz, kapag may free time lang talaga. PCR (Police Community Relation) officer na kasi ako ngayon, parang PR ng PNP. Bale sa office na lang ako, hindi na ako nagtatrabaho sa field,” he said in an interview. Filipino-American a cappella group Filharmonic bagged a major gig as part of the global smash hit movie Pitch Perfect 2. The group was featured as one of the competitors of Barden Bellas (Pitch Perfect’s main stars) in the world championships in the movie. Before landing a gig in the film, the group was able to work with various international artists. Filharmonic is based in Los Angeles, California and is composed of VJ Rosales, Joe Caigoy, Trace Gaynor, Barry Fortgang, Jules Cruz and Niko Del Rey.

Another Filipina reigned supreme in an international singing competition. Marlisa Punzalan won X-Factor Australia. Marlisa was the youngest contestant in the show and was mentored by Ronan Keating. Marlisa started singing at the age of three. She recently visited the Philippines, performing in various Kapamilya shows, and showcasing her mad vocal skills. She recently released her self-titled album Marlisa which has been certified gold.
