In an exclusive interview with PUSH. com.ph, she shared that it was the brand’s advocacy that made her say yes to the project. “First of all, the word, ‘mom’ kasi ‘yan talaga ang main purpose ko dito sa #ThisIsHowYouNanay eh, how to be a good mom. Basta all about being a mom, paano palakihin ‘yung anak sa maayos na paraan so noong sinabi nila sa’kin ‘yung gusto nilang ipagawa for the project, hindi na ako nagdalawang isip,” said Mommy Star who solely raised her only daughter who is turning 9 years old and is also a part of the commercial.

Hence, understanding that being a mother is a lifechanging experience, Mommy Star gives some tips on what will make life easier for mothers.

1. BUDGETING According to Mommy Star, there are certain products that need not be too expensive like cooking ingredients, “Sabi ko nga kanina, hindi kailangan lahat ‘yan mahal. As long as we trust the brand that we use…”

Nonetheless, she also said that she would not compromise quality, “Gano’n talaga ang mga nanay.

Kasi minsan, bibili nga tayo ng mura, ‘pag ka niluto mo or nalasahan mo, it’s not what you expected. So iba talaga ‘yung natrust mo na, na-proven mo na, nagamit mo na, ‘dun ka na magstick.”

2. HEALTHY LIVING Mommy Star said that she has a cheat when it comes to dieting. In the morning, she said, “When we wake up, drink 1 to 2 glasses of water before you have breakfast and then wait for 30 minutes para magpenetrate, maganda ‘yung digestion mo.”

During lunch time, she advised, “At saka isang

Mommy Star shares after doing this procedure, she now weighs 137 lbs from her former weight of 142lbs. She says she is targeting to lose more so she can have energy to move and be more active.

3. LIVING LIFE Revealing that her YouTube videos are now her focus aside from being a mother and daughter at the same time, Mommy Star said she currently has her hands full with all her responsibilities.

What can she advice mothers who are also busy with various activities?

“As far as I know, walang moms na hindi busy.

Lahat kami, we are super moms, we are all amazing moms in our own different ways. Ang masu-suggest ko lang, make every moment count,” she said, even sharing that she captured her daughter’s growing up years on video because of her channel.

Again, Baron Geisler, one of the best actors of his generation, makes headlines.

And, quite expectedly, it wasn’t about his artistic exploits, but another incident wherein his rather uncontrolled, vexing behavior took another turn for the worse.

This time, student filmmakers got the raw end of his wrath after they displeased him going to a set without a prepared script he was supposed to use for a project they were working on. Enraged over the inconvenience as they met on the set, Baron cursed and cussed the UP Fine Arts students producing the film despite their repeated apologies, to the point of pushing, shoving, and headlocking one of them, as shown in a viral video.

‘Doon ako pumitik’

As Baron explained to Push, “Doon ako pumitik” after arriving on time for the 9am call time after only two hours of sleep since packing up from another shooting in Laguna at 3am and not having the script he had asked from the students for five days.

But despite his explanation, most who watched the video saw his actions as uncalled for and excessive. This wide condemnation became Baron’s basis of a planned suit against the student director Khalil Verzosa, who he said intended to further besmirch his already damaged reputation by uploading the video on his Facebook account.

Baron claimed he was not drunk, nor high on illicit drugs. But indeed, sadly, that volcanic and volatile temper seemed more prominent and remembered than his noteworthy, award-winning performances as an actor. His detention three years ago for “physical injuries,” “malicious mischief,” and “child abuse,” took a toll on his otherwise remarkable career as an actor after he beat up a Quezon City neighbor in front of the latter’s wife and kids.

Bipolar disorder

He had admitted suffering from extreme bipolar disorder that leads him to have irrepressible bouts of anger. Baron had gone under rehab and medication to control this illness, among other addictions such as alcoholism.

Another result of his frenzied demeanor is his run-ins with female celebrities, such as Patricia Martinez and her mom Yayo Aguila, Cherry Pie Picache, Yasmin Kurdi, and Julia Clarete, over alleged sexual harassment and unjust vexation.

But who can forget his biggest heartbreak that he claimed started his downspiral—being dumped by his teen love interest Jodi Sta. Maria over his alcoholism.

Demons

Indeed, Baron faces a lot of “demons,” battling an unsettling urge to revive fits of notoriety despite his constant desire to control and overcome it.

This latest incident is yet another challenge for Baron to overcome and learn from. Controlling his anger is a paramount goal for him, even he justifies his actions to the end, and that going “beast mode” never solves anything but only complicates and worsens the problem.

As in previous altercations, Baron must overcome this by accepting and admitting his own transgressions and try to do something about it—maybe have his bipolar disorder further treated or undergo anger management classes—to emerge better off from such an incident and not get the brickbats.

Above all, we all really want to focus our attention on Baron, the renowned thespian, artist, actor and performer who deserves so much praise for his craft, not the “wild”, “berserk” brute who roughs up hapless people just because he lacked sleep or was inconvenienced by not having a ready script.

ANGELICA PANGANIBAN FIVE LESSONS FROM ‘HUGOT QUEEN’ HER JOURNEY TO MOVING ON After her appearance on Gandang Gabi Vice over the weekend, Hugot Queen Angelica Panganiban’s “hugots” seem to have a different meaning now. By now those following their hugot segment on their gag show Banana Sundae know that there is a grain of truth behind all her lines.

On GGV, Angelica pretty much laid down the “basic rules” of how a woman can rise from a debilitating breakup, which is pretty much what happened to her recently.

Happiness should come from within

Acknowledge where you are in the process Host Vice Ganda asked Angelica how she was moving on from her breakup with John Lloyd Cruz.

It gave a glimpse of the best first step in the entire moving on process.

It is always good to be able to identify at what stage you are in the process because it allows one to know how far you are from the “finish line” or how much “progress” you have made, so to speak.

In Angelica’s case, she was honest enough to admit that she is “kinda, super okay” but that she has not fully recovered yet.

Never lose your self-respect Of the many things that Angelica said, it was probably the pivotal point in her journey to moving on that deserves to be highlighted. Not only was her anecdote moving and cinematic, it was also very enlightening as well.

At the end of the day, moving on starts with a decision. It could be a decision to finally stop crying or a decision to finally accept and forgive the person who hurt you. But the point is that the person who has been wallowing in sadness should first be firm enough to decide to snap out of her sorry state before she can actually start moving on.

“Kasi hindi ako nag-o-open up sa kaibigan ko, sa pamilya ko ganyan. So nung nakita ko yung sarili ko na ganun, (sabi ko sa sarili ko) huy girl tama na nakakaawa ka na, down na down ka na, bangon,” she recalled.

One of the primary reasons why people tend to lose it whenever they part ways with their significant others is because, once in a relationship, they tend to anchor their happiness to their partners.

According to Angelica, that was a big no-no because it leaves one hollow once that person, where their happiness rests, leaves.

As Angelica aptly puts it, “Hindi mo pwedeng idepend ang happiness mo sa ibang tao.”

Remember the good times more that the bad times Instead of allowing the bitterness and sadness to envelop you after a split, try to counter the feeling by opting to relive the brighter days. Sure, the breakup was heartbreaking, but, according to Angelica, such had been the case because there was a great love and great happiness in the relationship in the first place.

“Kasi kung babalikan niyo, bakit ka magiging bitter ‘di ba, kung mas maraming beses ka naman naging masaya dun sa taong ‘yun. Walang katumbas ‘yung sayang ‘yun sa nangyaring paghihiwalay ninyo,” she said.

Slowly detach from the past While she admitted that she deliberately opted not to visit the places where they previously spent time together, Angelica said she got advice that countered her style.

“May nagsabi kasi sa akin na dapat daw dahan-dahan puntahan ko yung mga yun kasi kung hindi wala akong mapupuntahan, kawawa naman ako,” she said jokingly.

But the key take away here is take it step by step. Sure it would be hard but you have to face the fact that all the places, things and memories that you had together will probably be there for eternity. Unless you decide to drop everything and leave for another country, there is always that chance that you would encounter something or someone that is related to your former significant other.

Sa Gandang Gabi Vice, sinabi ni Angelica Panganiban na siya ay “kinda super okay.” Taliwas ito sa mga hugot lines niya matapos ang breakup nila ng kanyang boyfriend for 4 years na si John Lloyd Cruz kung kaya’t nabansagan na rin siyang “Hugot Queen.”

Nang tanungin ng host na si Vice Ganda kung naka-recover na siya sagot naman ni Angelica ay, “No. Slight na lang.”

Pero dagdag niya, “Kasi ano e, mga 4 hours na akong hindi umiiyak. Ito yung pinakamatagal ko kaya iba yung look ko ngayon. Minsan kasi, e sikat ‘di ba, ang daming billboard, kaya pag nakita ko, anu ba yan maiiyak nanaman ako, ganun.”

Nagbiro pa si Angelica at sinabing, “Lesson learned talaga. Wag sikat.”

Sinabi rin ni Angelica kung ano ang natutunan niya sa breakup nila ni Lloydie.

“Pinakamagandang natutunan ko dito ay maging positive ka lang lagi. Siguro wala akong bitterness, wala akong ill feelings sa kahit na sino.”

Sinabi ni Vice na hindi nagsasalita ng kahit na anong masama si Angge tungkol kay John Lloyd, patunay na hindi ito galit sa ex.

“Hindi talaga. Kasi ‘di ba hindi niyo na nasave ang relationship niyo as a couple, why not i-save ang relationship niyo bilang magkaibigan?”

Aminado naman si Angelica na hindi niya naging kaibigan ang tatlong ex-boyfriends niya.

Dagdag pa niya lahat “bigo” ang kinahinantnan ng tatlong relationships na yun, pero, “Tinanggap ko, nagpatawad ako.”

Agree din si Angelica kay Vice na hindi naman talaga sila “bigo” sa pag-ibig.

“Totoo. Kasi kung babalikan niyo, bakit ka magiging bitter ‘di ba, kung mas maraming beses ka naman naging masaya dun sa taong ‘yun. Walang katumbas ‘yung sayang ‘yun sa nangyaring paghihiwalay ninyo.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Malungkot lang pero lagi mong iisipin kung bakit naging ganun kasakit kasi naging ganun ka kasaya. At dapat yun ang nagma-matter e, yung pinagsamahan niyo, yung saya, yung respeto na binigay ninyo sa isa’t isa and ‘yun hindi mo yun matutumbasan ng kahit na ano, para gawing katatawanan, yung pinagdaanan niyo ibulgar niyo sa mga tao kung ano naging problema ‘di ba?”

RECALLS LOWEST MOMENT AFTER BREAKUP WITH JOHN LLOYD CRUZ

Sa Gandang Gabi Vice, aminado si Angelica Panganiban na hindi pa siya totally recovered mula sa paghihiwalay nila ni John Lloyd Cruz. “Ako nga hindi pa nakakamove on. Konti na lang, malapit na.”

Hindi rin inalis ni Angge ang mga Instagram posts niya kasama si Lloydie.

Pag-amin pa niya, tinitingnan niya “minsan” ang mga pictures na magkasama sila. Tiningnan diumano ni Angge ang last picture nila ni Lloydie at nasa isip niya, “Ito yung last picture namin. Saya pa namin. Huwaw.”

Kwento pa niya iniisip niya na minsan na nababaliw na siya dahil naamoy niya ang pabango ni Lloydie sa bahay niya. Dagdag pa niya, ini-spray din niya ang pabango ni LLoydie nang minsang makita niya ito habang namimili siya. Pag-uwi diumano ni Angge sa bahay nasabi niya sa sarili na “Bakit ganun? Ba’t ko inispray amuy na amoy ko tuloy…”

Bukod sa mga kwentong ito, hindi rin naging madali ang proseso ng pag-move on ni Angelica. Nang tanungin siya ni Vice kung “Nagpupunta ka pa sa mga lugar na napuntahan niyo?” sagot ni Angge ay, “Nung una hindi talaga. Kasi nag-Bali ako tapos may stopover na Hongkong… ‘Pag labas ko pa lang bigla akong parang nilamon ako, umiiyak talaga akong mag-isa, tapos natatawa ako, tapos umiiyak ako habang naglalakad. Tapos umupo na’ko, tapos tumatawa na ako, sabi ko grabe para akong tanga. Tama na, tama na.”

Tinanong muli ni Vice si Angelica, “Sadya mong iniiwasan ang mga lugar?” Sagot naman ng aktres, “Oo, pero may nagsabi kasi sa akin na dapat daw dahan-dahan puntahan ko yung mga yun kasi kung hindi wala akong mapupuntahan, kawawa naman ako.”

Biro pa niya kay Vice, “Muntik na akong lumipat ng network, pero sabi ko nga dahil may respect ako sa ABS-CBN, hindi na lang ako lilipat magre-retire na lang ako.”

Isang malaking rebelasyon din ang pagkuwento ni Angelica sa huling pagkikita nila ni John Lloyd sa Hong Kong. “Nagpunta ako ng Hong Kong, sabi kasi ng mga kaibigan ko halika na mag-Hong Kong na tayo ganyan nung Holy Week, sabi ko sige na nga, tapos pagpunta ko ng Hong Kong, nandun sila.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Oo nagkita naman kami, kasi nga tina-try naman namin yung best namin na maging magkaibigan naman kami.

Ang sakit nga ng panga ko parang buong gabi masakit yung panga mo, pinipigilan mong maiyak tapos tatawa ka.”

Si Lloydie diumano ang unang lumapit sa Hong Kong, pero sabi ni Angelica panay ang hanap niya ng charger dahil ayaw niyang mawalan ng battery ang kanyang cellphone. Ani niya, “Baka kasi may mag-text sa akin.”

Nang mag-text naman diumano si Lloydie hindi rin naman niya kaagad sinagot ito. “Kasi kunwari tulog ka na ganun,” natatawa nitong pag-alala. Nang tanungin ni Vice kung naghihintay pa siya ng text ng kanyang ex, sabi ni Angelica ng pabiro, “Minsan. Ay baka mapanuod niya to mahuli niya ang style ko.” Minsan daw ay sinasabi niyang kakagising niya lang.

Sa tanong kung magka-text pa din ba sila ni John Lloyd, sinabi ng Banana Sundae star na hindi na katulad ng dati ang kanilang communication. “Hindi naman madalas. Grabe naman yung madalas. Baka kung ano ang isipin ng mga tao. Hindi naman kami siyempre naglalandian sa text.”

Paglilinaw niya ang mga messages lang ni Lloydie sa kanya ay pangangamusta lamang.

Inamin din niyang nagkita na sila ulit ni John Lloyd. “Nagkikita.. Hindi. Nagkita lang. Get together lang.” Nilinaw din ni Angelica na, “mahirap minsan magkamustahan lang sa phone di ba. Minsan parang ano, pwede rin naman kayo magkita.”

Ibinuking din ni Angelica na si John Lloyd rin ang nauunang mag-text sa kanilang dalawa. Pero aminado siya na noong una nagte-text rin siya sa aktor. “Noong umpisa, noong talagang parang ano, parang broken na broken ka. Parang ang dami mo pang gustong sabihin ganyan …” Nang tanungin kung ano ang mga sinasabi niya noon, sagot ni Angge, “Ang sakit sakit naman nito. Tama ba yung desisyon natin….”

Nagseryoso naman si Angelica bigla at sinabi niyang, “Hindi alam mo seryoso, seryosong ano, baka nga maiyak pa ako e, nakita ko yung sarili ko na para bang sobra kang down….”

Naging emosyonal at halos maiyak si Angelica sa puntong ito ng interview. Pagpapatuloy niya, “Kasi hindi ako nag-o-open up sa kaibigan ko, sa pamilya ko ganyan. So nung nakita ko yung sarili ko na ganun, (sabi ko sa sarili ko) huy girl tama na nakakaawa ka na, down na down ka na, bangon.”

Bago matapos ang palabas, nagbigay din ng payo si Angelica sa mga ilang manonood ng GGV na may problema sa pagibig.

Sa Rated K, matapos umani ng simpatya at paghanga si Rita “Badjao Girl” Gabiola sa social media, nangako siya na hindi na muling mamalimos.

Paano nga ba nagsimula ang kwento ng pagsikat ni “Badjao Girl?”

Namataang namamalimos si Rita noong Piyesta ng Pahiyas sa Lucban, Quezon. Nagandahan sa kanya ang girlfriend ng photographer na si Topher Burgos kung kaya ayon kay Topher, “Kinunan ko ng magandang anggulo siya, and then in-upload ko sa Facebook. Hindi ko alam na magba-viral.”

Tubong Zambonga ang pamilya ni Rita at ayon sa nanay niyang si Marita, napadpad sila sa Maynila dahil mahirap ang buhay nila sa probinsya. Ang hanapbuhay ng pamilya ni Rita sa Mindanao ay pangingisda.

Hindi akalain ni Rita na sikat na pala siya at natuklasan lamang ito nang may mga lumalapit sa kanya. Hindi rin kasi niya namalayan na kinunan pala siya noon ng litrato ni Topher. Naiyak pa siya nang maalala niya, “Kasi ang pagkaalam ko huhulihin kaming mag-ina kasi namamalimos kami sa Lucban.”

Grade 6 na sa pasukan si Rita. Nang tanungin kung bakit siya namamalimos, ang sagot niya ay, “Kasi bakasyon na kaya naglilimos po ako.”

Simula nang mag-viral sa social media, malaki na nga ang pinagbago ng buhay ni Rita. Sa tulong ng Rated K, nangako ang pamahalaan ng Lucban na bibigyan ng trabaho ang mga magulang ni Rita.

Binigyan rin si Rita ng scholarship ng Rated K, para makatapos siya ng pag-aaral at matupad ang kanyang pangarap. Ayon kay Rita gusto niyang maging guro dahil, “Gusto ko pong matulungan yung mga bata, isa na rin po dun yung mga magulang ko, hindi po nakapag-aral. At saka po ang mga Tita ko .”

Bumuhos ang luha ni Rita dahil sa lubos na kasiyahan sa mga natanggap niyang biyaya. Pangako rin ni Rita, “Gagawin ko po ang lahat para sa mga magulang ko.”

Kwento ni Jaclyn tungkol sa kanyang pagkapanalo, “The way they say it ‘Jaq-lyn’ (French pronunciation of her name) nung dumugtong lang yung ‘Jose’ (dyo-say) saka lang (nag-sink in) oh my God ako yun.

Siyempre ang layo talaga sa isip ko kasi ang bibigat ng kalaban, 21 good veteran actors and actresses… ang gaganda ng sinabi nila lahat sa film and parang majority talaga likes the film and chose me.”

Very proud din ang kanyang anak na si Andi Eigenmann, na kasama niya sa pelikula, pati na rin ang apo na si Ellie, na sumalubong agad sa kanya sa airport.

Jaclyn Jose thankful for warm welcome home

Isang homecoming dinner ang ibinigay ng ilang malalapit na kaibigan at katrabaho ng aktres na si Jaclyn Jose kaugnay ng kanyang tagumpay bilang best actress sa 2016 Cannes International Film Festival para sa pelikulang Ma’ Rosa. Kasama ang direktor niya sa pelikula na si Brillante Mendoza, nakausap natin ang dalawa tungkol sa kanilang latest na tagumpay para sa ating bansa.

Para kay Jaclyn, malaki ang naiambag ng kanilang pelikulang Ma’ Rosa para mas makilala ang husay at talino ng mga Pilipino sa sining ng pelikula.

“Yung appreciation na kilalanin ang kultura natin at the same time malaman ang problema

and they’re hoping magkaisa natin na magtapos at magwakas yung awareness basically.”

Ramdam ni Jaclyn ang init ng pagtanggap ng ating mga kababayan sa kanyang tagumpay.

Marami daw ang bumabati sa kanya at nagpapapicture kapag nakita siya. Hanggang sa trapik daw ay excited ang mga kababayan natin na makita siya.

“Kanina sa car nag roll down ako ng window at nag roll down din ng window yung family, parang mas marami ako nakikita na congratulations congratulations. Naramdaman ko talaga ang kasama natin sila kasama ang lahat ng Pilipino sa journey.”

Sa kanyang personal na buhay, single si Jaclyn at naging pabiro ang sagot sa detalye.

“Hindi ko alam ang ganda ko naman di ba?

(Laughs) baka ang katabaan ko feeling ko ang ganda ko naman may humor naman ako!”

Marami daw ang oportunidad sa ibang bansa ang tiyak na dadating dahil sa kanyang pagkakapanalo pero mas pipiliin niya mag trabaho sa Pilipinas dahil kuntento na daw siya sa kanyang narating bilang artista.

Ipinagmalaki ni Jaclyn na hindi lang ang kanyang pagkakaganap sa pelikula ang napansin ng mga nakapanood nito kundi ang kabuuan ng pelikula at ang mensahe na gusto nito iparating sa manonood.

“After winning this, I am sure a lot of people want to see my performance.

But they will get surprised because it’s not only my performance that they’re gonna see. They’re gonna see themselves in the movie,” paliwanag niya.

Ang pagbibigay halaga sa pamilya ang isa sa magagandang mensahe ng Ma ‘Rosa. Dagdag pa ni Jaclyn na kahit maraming pagsubok ang ating bansa, hindi nawawala ang pagmamahal sa pamilya.

“The main objective of Mr. Brillante [Mendoza] in doing the film is to tell the whole world how intimate our family is in my country, and how a mother like Ma Rosa takes care of her family. I can vividly remember those endless, meshed cables, dirty floors, and that bewitching director who can’t seem to get one teleserye’s taping day going in one scorching summer afternoon, given that most of his lead stars were hours late.

It was oven hot everywhere in a Corinthian Gardens mansion in Quezon City, and this “inconvenience” has pushed the afternoon grind onto the wee hours of the morning in taping scene after scene to beat the deadline for the series’ premiere. And faced with all the stress on set, we still waited for our star interviewee.

But as we waited, and the other cast members were still on their way to the set, one widely admired and multi-awarded actress, always the early bird in filming, was already there on one far side of the set, mumbling, banging a nearby table and gritting her teeth as if she had encountered a vicious adversary who just ruined her day.

And, as we tried to get near this celebrated actress to have a chat, she made one stern look at my face, giving me that “don’t-you-dare” pleasantry as if she was about to utter one villainous diatribe. I still smiled at her, the actress I had held in high esteem since breaking out as a riveting actress in Chito Roño’s Itanong Mo Sa Buwan and Joel Lamangan’s The Flor Contemplacion Story; she gave that cold smirk, with the same chilling gaze and left.

Dedication

“Sorry po, in-character po siya,” an assistant told me, noticing the “incident.” “Alam ko,” I uttered, knowing very well that Jaclyn Jose, or Mary Jane Guck in real life, was “not acting” but “becoming” the intense character she was to portray that day, transforming to its quirks and eccentricities for even this unwitting set visitor to experience. This was her way of doing her job the best way possible, using a method she knows would bring out her best.

And thus I discovered, her passion and dedication to her craft was something else. Jaclyn lives and breathes her character—bringing the complex, eccentric incongruity even off the camera and lives it in all realistic splendor. It all appeared to me so natural that I felt it was splendidly real—like I was in the actual filmed scene itself.

A “style” so evidently prominent in her now glittering, shining moment as the first Filipino to win Best Actress in the Cannes Film Festival, beating such names as Academy Award winners Charlize Theron and Marion Cotillard, multi-awarded French actress Isabelle Huppert, acclaimed thespians Sonia Braga, Ruth Negga, Sandra Huller, and Sasha Lane, and the famous Twilight star Kristen Stewart.

World renowned director and Cannes regular, Brillante Mendoza, who won the festival’s Best Director in 2009 for Kinatay, is one who truly recognizes this incredible talent, closely putting the spotlight on her in his acclaimed works of mostly graphic, sordid depiction of society’s ills. Jaclyn in Serbis was as poignant as it was one of her defining performances in the world stage being one of the first noted Filipino entries, despite protests for its depiction “misery porn,” in Cannes in 2008 being nominated for the Palm d’Or.

“Naturalistic grace”

Eight years later, direk Dante called on Jaclyn for that perfect, milestone role—a mother forced to peddle illegal drugs to support her family and eventually falls prey to corrupt policemen—in his new masterpiece, Ma’ Rosa. With his instructions to Jaclyn “not to act,” she proceeded with a portrayal again so real, riveting and remarkable.

Again, her knack at being so genuine and natural brought her brilliance out in the open—in the world’s most celebrated and glitziest film festival. Critics hailed her for her “naturalistic grace,” notes Variety and being “resilient yet understated,” as seen by Hollywood Reporter.

Some critics, however, saw this style as “underacting” for a “supporting role” and that she lacked proper merit to win the prestigious award. Cannes jury members defended their choice of Jaclyn as the festival’s best. Mads Mikkelsen says Jaclyn is a “master of her skills” and a “wonderful leading actress” while Donald Sutherland made it quite clear that Jaclyn’s character was a “big-time leading role” fit for the triumph.

While Jaclyn herself elicited her own surprise at her unexpected victory, no one can deny or take that glory away from her. She has emerged from what she described as “loud and campy characters” through the years and has become a force to reckon with in international cinema.

A Cannes Best Actress? It’s definitely natural for one Jaclyn Jose, now primed for greatness in big screens around the world.

Filipina celebrity Solenn Heussaff cried tears of joy as she and husband Nico Bolzico exchanged vows during their wedding last May 21 at the Eglise Notre Dame in Combourg, France.

The moment was captured and uploaded on YouTube by celebrated wedding videographer Jason Magbanua.

“From the start, I’ve always been the one to make the wrong decisions, meet the wrong guys. And, I’ve always thought that it wasn’t my destiny to end up with someone that needed fixing when in fact, I was the one that needs (it). And I met you and things just went amazing,” Solenn said in between tears.

Nico, for his part, told his bride, “I won’t tell you anything new I haven’t told you in the past 5 years we’ve spent together but there’s one (main) lesson I learned from you and it’s that love is not platonic, it’s nothing romantic, it’s something that you work for it everyday (sic). That’s why I promise not just to love you forever but to also love you everyday.” He also promised to be there for Solenn and that he will support her in whatever she does, whatever happens. Nico ended his vow with promising Solenn that, “Forever will make sense.”

Solenn, on the other hand, said, “I cannot promise you that I won’t hate you at times but I know I will love you harder even when it hurts” Aside from the exchange of vows, the video also briefly showed the different moments that took place in what was referred to as #SosBolz wedding such as the celebrity guests, the priest’s homily, a testimonial from someone close to Nico, who witnessed how much Solenn makes him happy, as well as the reception party.

Just like his sister Cheska Garcia-Kramer, Patrick Garcia’s still part of showbiz. He already has three children. Patrick has a son named Alex Jazz with actress Jennylyn Mercado and two daughters named Chelsea and Nicola Patrice with his wife Nikka Martinez.

Paolo Contis was part of the first season (1992-1994) of the show and he’s still active in show business.

Paolo has two daughters named Xonia, 6, and Xalene, 5, with his ex-wife Lian Paz. Paolo is currently linked to actress LJ Reyes.

Jolina Magdangal is currently one of the hosts of the Kapamilya morning show Magandang Buhay.

Aside from her career in showbiz, she is also an entrepreneur. Jolina is happily married to Mark Escueta. They have a son named Pele Iñigo.

Cheska Garcia-Kramer was also part of the first season of Ang TV. She is still active in showbiz and is happily married to PBA athlete Doug Kramer. They have three kids named Clair Kendra, Scarlette Louvelle, and Gavin Phoenix. Their family is known as “Team Kramer” on social media, with their Facebook page earning 7.5 million likes.

John Prats is currently part of Banana Sundae.

He recently appeared in the primetime series Ang Probinsyano. He is happily married to actress Isabel Oli. Their firstborn, named Lilly Feather or “LiFe” for short, was born last April 18.

Claudine Barretto made a major comeback in the big screen through the 2015 movie Etiquette for Mistresses. Claudine has an adopted daughter named Sabina and has a son named Rodrigo Santino with estranged husband Raymart Santiago.

Known as Igi Boy Muhlach during his showbiz stint, Luigi is now a chef and now owns a restaurant located in BF Homes, Parañaque City. Luigi married his wife Patricia Petil in a civil ceremony at Hacienda Ysabel in Tagaytay last October 24, 2009. They now have two children named Alejandro Miguel and Adrianna Isabel.

Vandolph Quizon shifted his career from showbiz to politics.

He was recently proclaimed as Parañaque City councilor. He is married to Jennifer Salimao, a dancer and a Barangay kagawad in Tambo, Parañaque. The couple has a son named Vito Quizon.

Vandolph also has a 15-year old daughter named Gabrielle Avante from a previous relationship.

Jan Marini is now a happy wife to actor Gerard Pizarras. The two married in 2000 and two years after Jan gave birth to their eldest child Rian and their second child Rain in 2007.

Angelu de Leon is still active in showbiz. She has three children; Nicole her daughter with ex-beau Joko Diaz; Louise her daughter with businessman Jojo Manlongat.; and Rafael her son with husband Lorenzo “Wowie” Rivera.

Guila Alvarez retreated from the spotlight and is enjoying her life with family. Happily married to Pinggoy Bautista, they now have four children named Talee, Elli, Milo, and four-month old Pablo.

Rica Peralejo is still in showbiz but enjoys more time with her husband Pastor Joseph “Joe” Bonifacio. They ghave a son named Philip Nathaniel. Rica unfortunately had a miscarriage last March. OLEEN ARCIA On Tonight with Boy Abunda, Love Me Tomorrow star Coleen Garcia reacted to being labeled “millennial Lolita.” Coleen said, “I haven’t read the book. I’ve seen the movie. I’ve seen the Stanley Kubrick film and I love the character, although the story I really don't relate to that. Although the character I like her.” Coleen said she knows being called thus means she’s the generation’s “sex symbol” and she said, “nakakapressure kasi bawal na ako tumaba.”

Coleen answers, “it was worth it, that's all I can think of. It was worth it kasi imagine if I didn't… I can’t even imagine what it would have been like if I didn't fight for him. I don't think I’d be doing as well as I am right now if I wasn't with him.”

SHE IS SET to star in an action comedy film next

After the success of her movie with Piolo Pascual and Dawn Zulueta titled Love Me Tomorrow, Coleen Garcia is off to take on her next big screen project.

It was Love Me Tomorrow’s creative manager Kriz Gazmen who announced the details of Coleen’s next project during a blogger’s conference held on Tuesday, May 31.

“We’ve proven kasi that Coleen is such a versatile actress and ang dami talaga niyang kayang gawin. So ang next project ni Coleen, she will do an action-comedy-sexy movie with us with two other actresses na surprise pa po,” he said.

Chris Martinez is set to direct the film, which would be titled Extra Service.

“Excited! It’s my first film na hindi si Gino [Santos] ang director and I’m looking forward to it because I’m also a fan of Direk Chris Martinez’s work,” she revealed when asked about how she feels about the new project.

Coleen shared that she was especially impressed by how the director helmed comedy films Kimmy Dora and The Gifted.

“Also I’m excited kasi iba na siya. Instead of a love angle, it’s with two other ladies. So it’s something different also for me,” Coleen added.

Meanwhile, Coleen’s fans who are missing her on TV might need to wait a little longer as she revealed that she has no TV project offer as of the moment. But Coleen shared that she is not closing her doors to returning on TV. But will she be returning to Showtime at least?

“Hindi na because I don’t know, I want to keep up the momentum of what’s happening right now. I feel like I’m finally on the right track,” said Coleen.

While she recognizes the fact that her inclusion on Showtime propelled her to where she is right now, Coleen feels that she wants to keep moving forward at this point.

“But I’ll be visiting. Naka-visit naman ako twice during that time,” assured Coleen.

As of June 1, Star Cinema announced that Love Me Tomorrow is on its way to earning P100 million at the box office.

PAUL JAKE CASTILLO TO KAYE ABAD: ‘I PROMISE THAT YOU WILL HAVE A HAPPY FAMILY’ Kaye Abad is still on cloud nine after her boyfriend Paul Jake Castillo proposed to her on her birthday last May 17. Kaye shared on Magandang Buhay today, May 30 that it still feels surreal for she didn’t expect Paul Jake to propose.

The presidential son Baste Duterte also attended the event and gave a speech, where he urged the people to ‘build a better tomorrow for our children.’ He also thanked those who supported his father during the election period.

The President-elect also made the time to give his

message for his supporters during the thanksgiving party, saying he will prioritize health spending and education once he assumes office on June 30.

He added that he is truly fortunate to have her in his life. “She’s beautiful inside and out. I still get goosebumps every time I call her mine. It’s been half a year and I’m still so blessed to have you, @gabcurrent.”

When it comes to her married life, Yeng Constantino shared that she is very happy and content at the moment.

Yeng also shared her experience as a new mentor in the hit show We Love OPM which she describe as very fun. “Masarap i-mentor si Krissha, Ylona, Alexa kasi sobrang babait nilang bata and though may challenges siyempre bata sila I have to make the song very young pero okay lang basta happy sila, happy ‘yung mga nakikinig, naaaliw sila, ‘yun naman ang nagma-matter.”

The singer is also now gearing up for her upcoming digital concert on June 19, 2016. “Excited and medyo kinakabahan kasi first digital concert dito sa Philippines under OneMusic. ph. YENG CONSTANTINO SINGS FOR ‘ANGRY BIRDS’ MOVIE SOUNDTRACK Pop Rock Princess Yeng Constantino was tapped to sing a version of upcoming movie The Angry Birds official theme song.

Yeng recorded the “Wonderful Life – Mi Oh My” together with Norwegian Superstar DJ Matoma.

According to a release, Yeng “was recommended for the project as part of ABS-CBN’s efforts to open up opportunities for artists to reach a broader audience.”

Apart from Yeng, the soundtrack also includes songs from other international singers like Demi Lovato, Steve Aoki, and Charli XCX.

The Broadway star wrote about her experience working with the new The Voice coach in the Philippine Daily Inquirer last May 26.

In Lea’s article, she recounted the times she has worked with the Megastar when they were younger.

“As for my own history with her, we have seen each other in television studios and concert venues since the early ’80s, when I started making records, and thus would be a guest on TV shows including hers (the first one, “C.U.T.E.,” with her aunt Helen Gamboa, and “The Sharon Cuneta Show” on IBC 13 and later on ABS-CBN).

“I must’ve been around 10; she was about 15. We would sometimes sing together, and she would interview me. And I would also be the occasional observer watching her star rise,” the singer said.

She also commended Sharon’s ‘old-school professionalism’ and revealed she is very happy to work with her on the talent search program.

Bianca says her sister Kate hopes to get them recognized for being national beauty queen titleholders.

Actor Jericho Rosales admitted to the media during a gathering for the #TrueWanderer Philippines adventure race organized by Wrangler that he used to be a drug user when he was a teenager.

He resorted to drugs to divert his attention from family problems and he was thankful that he was surrounded by ‘good friends’ who helped him to quit the habit.

In an article written by Marinel Cruz of the Philippine Daily Inquirer last June 3, Jericho said, “The battle with drugs usually starts when you’re a teenager; make an effort to surround yourself with the right people. Be strong; don’t be pressured to do something just because other people are doing it.”

He added, “I don’t want to sound preachy, but I want to tell kids that it isn’t cool to take drugs.”

Jericho also suggested that an effective alternative would be going to church.

“Churches are cool. Churches are not baduy,” he commented.

His revelation is timely with the incoming administration’s primary goal to get rid of illegal drugs in the country.

Jericho supports President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s intention but he also stressed that he’s ‘not saying we should kill people’ but rather ‘tell Filipinos to be more responsible, and law enforcers to be stricter.’

CEDRIC LEE DENIES DETAINING HIS DAUGHTER CEANA

Businessman Cedric Lee vehemently denied the claims of his ex-girlfriend Vina Morales. The actress filed a complaint against Cedric for ‘forcibly detaining’ their daughter Ceana for nine days while she was on vacation in Switzerland.

“It is also not in my nature to say negative things about the mother of my child to protect my child’s reputation. I, however, find her statements damaging,” Cedric said in a statement sent to PEP. Vina also said Cedric failed to follow the court approved visitation agreement. Cedric is only allowed to visit Ceana on Saturdays but he explained this was not always followed by his ex.

“There was a signed agreement between us regarding visitation, holidays and spending a few nights with me during summer holidays. This was agreed upon in 2013.

“There has been violations the court has recorded regarding times when I wasn’t able to see my daughter. Prior to me spending time with Ceana, the court has noted that Vina owes me 10 days,” Cedric stated.

Cedric also claimed that their daughter was not traumatized when they were together and that his lawyers were in constant communication with Vina’s lawyer and family.

“They knew when I was going to take my daughter home…

My daughter is not aware of the court case we have. This may have traumatized her as she did not know what was going on, “I have never bullied Vina and have gone through the right avenue. I believe my child has a right to have both her father and mother in her life. I did not say anything in media when I was not able to see my daughter for a year.”

Vina and Cedric are set to attend a hearing at the San Juan Prosecutor’s Office.

CHARO SANTOS-CONCIO RECOUNTS HOW ‘MAALAALA MO KAYA’ STARTED

On Tonight with Boy Abunda, ABS-CBN Chief Content Officer Charo Santos-Concio recounted how Maalaala Mo Kaya, the longest running drama anthology in Asia, started.

Apparently, the idea behind MMK started from a “paper clip.” She recalled how she was asked by then ABS-CBN Executive Freddie M. Garcia, “If you were to cancel this program what will you replace it with?” Charo answered, “Sir, let me get back to you in two weeks.” And then FMG told her, “Ano, wala ka talagang alam sa telebisyon. Television is instant.

When I say I want a concept now, you have to give it now.”

Charo continued her story, “I saw a paper clip on top of a table. Sa nerbyos ko napahawak ako, (and then I told FMG) ito paper clip, simpleng bagay sa karamihan sa atin pero sa isang tao maaring mahalaga ito, dahil maaring may kwento sa likod ng paper clip. Sabi niya, hmmm. And then sabi ko, we can ask our viewers to send in their stories behind any ordinary object.”

Asked for a title for what she just pitched, Charo said she would name the program “Among My Souvenirs.” But FMG said, “Dapat tagalog at dapat kundiman.” Charo continued, “So he was the one who gave the title Maalaala Mo Kaya.”

During Fast Talk, Charo said her favorite dish is “sinigang na liempo.” He favorite flower is “Sampaguita,” and Charo’s favorite song is “An Affair To Remember.”

Asked what makes her laugh, Charo said, “my granddaughters.” Last time she cried was “on the set of a Lav Diaz film.” Her hidden talent is being a “good

nurse.” Her biggest insecurity is “having to face big crowds.” One thing she’s not good at is “swimming” and the title she will give her life story is “Maria Rosario.”

Hardest question she has been asked was, “’Can you handle the job’ and then as I went through the years, ‘Can you fire a friend.’”

Sexiest man in the Philippines for her is, “it’s a tie (between) Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz.”

ABBY ASISTIO RECOUNTS HOW SHE CAME TO MEET MARK ZUCKERBERG Singer Abby Asistio shared how she met chairman and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg.

She recounted how a woman from California named Rachel Regal was touched by her story. Abby has a condition called Alopecia and she has been blogging and creating awareness about it. And then, “Meron po pala siyang kakilala sa Facebook and there’s this woman in the Philippines that touched my life.”

Asked what real beauty is, Abby says, “being able to embrace who you are, the good and the bad as well as the beautiful things in your life.”

Singer, songwriter, host, and alopecia awareness advocate Abby Asistio was the only Filipina among 20 hand-picked Facebook users from Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Germany, the U. S. A., and the Philippines who had the privilege of meeting and sharing stories with American computer programmer, Internet entrepreneur, philanthropist, and chairman, chief executive and co-founder of the social networking website Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, last February 2.

Mark shared the purpose, mission, and desire of the organization to use Facebook to connect people and make this world a better place.

Abby shared her own story among six others, who were given the chance to speak during the special whole day event. From over 1.64 billion subscribers, Abby was chosen as one of about 20 invitees to FB’s “Friends’ Day” in celebration of its 12th anniversary. The chosen Facebook friends were treated to a special sharing session with the FB founder as well as COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Abby was flown in from the Philippines by Facebook because of her compelling journey with the auto-immune disease, Alopecia Areata.

A fellow advocate, Rachel Regal, of Faith, U. S. A., sent her story to the Facebook team. Rachel was so depressed, but the story of Abby, which she found online, and the song “Beautiful” inspired her to start a friendship with Abby. Their friendship was sealed and Facebook documented their first meeting in July 2015, created a story and posted it on their Facebook Stories page in October of the same year.

Manila Genesis Entertainment and Management, Inc., Abby’s representative, has been given clearance to release her exclusive photo with Mark Zuckerberg and Rachel which was taken last February 2 (Manila time) at the Facebook compound in Northern California, U. S. A. Mark, Rachel and Abby made the Alopecia Aerata hand sign which Abby created for the #alopeciaawarenesscampaign in September 2012.

Abby was featured in the Elements Camp in 2011, on ABS-CBN’s The Voice Philippines in 2014 and was chosen as one of Mega Magazine’s Most Beautiful

Ayon sa payahag ni Bib Gunnell sa NBC news ‘After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The three-time World Heavyweight Champion boxer died this evening.’

Si Muhammad Ali ay ipinanganak as Cassuis Marcellus Clay Jr. noong January 17, 1942, nagsimula ang kanyang boxing career sa murang edad na 12, kung saan napagwagian niya ang ilang Golden Gloves titles sa America.

Noong 1960 nakamit nya ang gold medal sa light heavyweight division sa Olympics na ginanap sa Rome, Italy.

“I appreciate both” On Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap

Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and Ian Veneracion are set to star in an upcoming Star Cinema romantic-comedy movie this year. “Well this is going to be an exciting project with Star Cinema, siyempre makakasama ko si Richard at si Ian and of course directed by direk Antoinette (Jadaone). This is a story about love pero may twist tsaka unexpected ending so ‘yun muna masasabi ko,” Jodi said during the story conference of the movie.

Jodi was able to work with Richard Yap in the hit serye Be Careful With My Heart.

Meanwhile, Ian was her onscreen partner in the primetime serye Pangako Sa’yo.

She stressed that has high regard for her two leading men. “I’m really very excited to be working with the both of them kasi una [si Richard] muna and after a while si Ian naman sa Pangako Sa’yo and now kasama ko na sila pareho. I respect them both and I appreciate both din naman.”

What did she miss working with her former two onscreen partners? “[Kay Richard] madami at tsaka inaabangan ko na ‘yung pang-aasar niya sa akin. Parang kapag single ka ng ganong age para kang may sakit na nakakahawa na dapat agapan so ito ‘yung tina-tackle sa movie,” director Tonette relayed.

Two men will come into Chinggay’s life that will cause confusion of her heart.

“Ang nangyari single siya for the longest time pero pinatutuhanan niya ‘yung ‘When it rains, it pours.’ Dumating si Frank played by Richard Yap na ex niya for five year na nagkita ulit sila. Tapos si Ian plays Ryan na meron siyang ex na ni-reject siya sa proposal na tinulungan siya ni Jodi. Itong dalawang lalaking ito nagpahaba ng hair ni Chinggay at hindi niya alam kung sino ang pipiliin dahil magkaibang love ang ibinibigay ng dalawang lalaki,” direk Tonette added.

Jodi Sta. Maria, Richard Yap, and Ian Veneracion’s upcoming movie has now a title. Star Cinema recently announced that the film would be called The Achy Breaky Hearts. In an interview during the promo shoot of the movie, director Antoinette Jadaone explained why they chose the title.

“Kasi it’s a story of Chinggay (played by Jodi Sta. Maria) who is desperate to find love. Nasaktan siya dati sa love at mame-meet niya ‘yung dalawang lalaki na may issue din tungkol sa pag-ibig so may tatlong achy breaky hearts na magme-meet sa movie,” direk Tonette said.

Is she team Ian or team Richard? “Kung titingnan mo ang story madali lang malaman kung ano ‘yung dapat maging ending nong story ni Chinggay kasi actually story to ni Chinggay who found two men. In the end don ako kung saan si Chinggay tamang maging masaya. Hindi ako team Richard o team Ian pero don ako sa team Chinggay kasi siya ‘yung central character ko,” she said.

Now that the fandoms are beginning to place their bets on whether Jodi’s character will end up with Ian’s or Richard’s character in the movie, direk Tonette is elated about the news.

“Very excited kasi ngayon pa lang inaabangan nila ‘yung pagsasama nilang tatlo para sa movie so we’re using that excitement para maging happy sa ginagawa naming story.”

“It’s nice that the fans have bonded together to form teams pero I hope it doesn’t go beyond, ‘yung ano lang, kulitan lang.” Richard added.

Jodi was all praises for her co-actors in the movie and for the story line. “Masaya siya especially pagkasama ko silang tatlo, si direk, si Richard, tsaka si Ian medyo pagmagkakasama na pala kaming apat riot na ‘yun, magaan ang set. Good vibes lang,” she said.

When asked if how she feels to be working with two of the most bankable leading men in the industry, Jodi responded, “Siyempre I’m very thankful di ba na nabigyan tayo ng pagkakataon na gumawa ng film and na blessed ako na kasama ko ang dalawng nag-gwagwapohang lalaki at tsaka ano din trabaho lang, work lang talaga.”

Ian also commended the story line of the movie. “It’s not my first time to work with direk Tonette and of course with Jodi. First time namin ni Richard mag-work together. We have solid scripts and ang ganda ganda ng istorya.”
