HARES WHY ‘EX WITH BENEFITS’ IS MORE DARING THAN ‘NO OTHER WOMAN’

In his current project with Star Cinema, Derek Ramsay hopes fans will see Ex With Benefits as more than just a show of flesh. “It's actually a very emotional movie more than the sexy stuff. Yes it's daring, but it's not what the movie is about. People are going to relate to the emotions that all the characters go through more than appreciating the movie because of the skin that they are going to see,” he said. Derek plays a successful doctor who still hasn't moved on from his college sweetheart. “Simple lang kasi yung character ko, we're do different in so many ways and we're so similar in one way which helped me portray the character which is hindi siya gumi-give up sa pagibig. Alam niyo na yan (laughs). Pag nagmahal siya binubuhos niya lahat and he gives everything. Makikita niyo sa pelikulang ito how Adam loves Arki, how he holds on to that love and then it all comes back to him in ten years time and he doesn't know what to do except fight for that love. Ganun din sa totoong buhay, ipaglalaban ko pero pag wala na wala na, pero hanggang meron pang konting pag-asa laban,” he explained. Being paired with two of the Kapamilya networks sexiest actresses Coleen Garcia and Meg Imperial is also a big honor for Derek. “It is every man's pride and dream to have a bed scene with Meg but the situation, the scene is every man's nightmare. They're both beautiful women, both very attractive and very sexy. I can't compare the two of them. The two of them are eye candy so I can't really compare,” he said. Despite the many intimate scenes in the film, Derek said he owes it to his co-stars not to get carried away. “Most definitely kailangan kasi kapag merong nangyari sa isang body part diyan, ayoko kasi may plaster masakit siya eh (laughs). I think you have to respect them and if something happens downstairs I think you're disrespecting the person you're doing the scene with kasi that means you’re not acting anymore. So you have to be professional. You have to shut down who you are, whatever you find physically attractive in that person and that makes things easier but you have to shut that down so that yung partner mo doesn't feel uncomfortable,” he added.

EREK RAMSAY REVEALS THE EXES THAT MADE THE MOST IMPACT ON THEIR LIVES

In an interview on The Bottomline with Boy Abunda, Ex with Benefits lead stars Derek Ramsay and Coleen Garcia talked about their exes who made the most impact on their lives. “For me, they all had an impact because it takes a lot for me to get into a relationship. And in every relationship that I’ve had, I’ve had a lot of great memories. Yeah, there’s some pain but the great memories outweigh [them],” a hesitant Derek answered at first but eventually revealed that it was model-actress Solenn Heussaff. “I would have to say it was Solenn. We were similar in so many ways, both half-Filipino, halfEuropean, we both love to travel,” he admitted. Revealing what ended their relationship, he said, “Majority of it was long distance and timing…” Moreover, he shared, “My niece is named after her so that says it all. “I’ve had to say it will be her. I think she brought out the best in me during the time we were together and she was very supportive of everything that I did,” Derek said about the actress.

Derek admitted his age difference with Coleen was a challenge in the film. “Maraming factors, one is nga her age, how we were going to make it work, number two is Billy’s (Crawford, Coleen’s boyfriend) one of my closest friends in the industry and there are a lot of factors pero ang nakatulong talaga sa amin is how professional she is and our director who made us feel comfortable. She trusted me. Nire-respeto ko siya. Kissing somebody younger is a lot harder especially for her kasi it’s also her first time to do something like this on the big screen so I really had to put more effort kapag hindi kami nag-te-take. Yung mga breaks in between, I really talk to her, make her feel comfortable para pag ginawa namin yung eksena may tiwala siya sa akin,” he shared. There were actually no jealousy issues between Derek and Coleen’s boyfriend. “Billy said the nicest thing to me. Before I did this movie, Billy was my friend and after we shot this movie, Billy is still my friend (laughs). I have another friend, Coleen. But Billy said the nicest thing to me, ‘You know what Derek this movie it’s tough for me to accept it, to watch it. You know I’m just very happy that you are the partner of Coleen in this movie.’ But he’s very supportive of his girlfriend Coleen,” he said. Being able to overcome their initial awkwardness helped make their intimate scenes easier to do. “May sex scenes na lasing kami, scenes where we just saw each other, scenes na fantasy, scenes na nandun na, nilabas na lahat ng emotions and we’re just so comfortable with each other. Nagkaroon ng eksena na binuhos na nila lahat ng gusto nilang masabi and then followed by another bed scene. So that is totally different from the seeing each other, the physical attraction ends up in the bed and on the wall (laughs),” he admitted. Derek said Coleen impressed him with her dedication to the craft. “Parang hindi ng niya first time na gumawa ng mabigat na eksena nun. I was expecting na medyo she’ll pull back. When we were going to do our first one, may pa-lifting lifting scenes pa. Sabi ko, ‘Coleen itodo na natin ito para one take lang.’ but in my head I was thinking, ‘Naku baka mag-back out ito.’ Kasi medyo rough yung una eh. So that was the hardest one and binubuhat buhat ko siya. Ang liit liit kasi niya. Hindi siya umaatras so I thought wow she’s such a professional and it came to a point na after every time we do scenes like that nandun na kami nag-kuwe-kuwentuhan na talking about the next scene, talking about food, talking about chocolates, talking about direk. We just became so comfortable with each other that when we came to the more emotional love scenes, it was just easy,” he recalled. When asked which of his films are the most daring, Derek admits that EX With Benefits has surpassed his blockbuster No Other Woman in that department. “This one. Kasi ibang level ito eh meron kaming bed scene nung bata ako, bed scenes na lasing kami, may bed scene kami na we’re making love. Ang dami. We have a few bed scenes then we have a scene na pader lang yung ginagamit namin na kahit na wala ng hubaran ang sexy at intense pa din. Talagang sobra. I didn’t expect na sa alleyway, adumi, may mga daga yata dun, ipis, and I was like, ‘Okay, this is different. This is new.’ And sabi ni direk ito yung gusto niya mangyari. And that’s the scene na talagang nag- register sa akin. Ang makikita niyo lang sa pelikula flashes yan ah. Pero for me that was my favorite scene in the movie. No Other Woman was legendary, that movie was amazing. I had a love scene with Meg once but with Coleen the entire movie (laughs). Ang ganda talaga ng love scenes namin dito. It’s hard to compare. I don’t want to compare. Mas malalim yung pinanggalingan ng characters namin,” he said.

DEREK RAMSAY ADMITS HE HAS AN EX HE DOESN’T WANT TO BUMP INTO WOULD DEREK RAMSAY GET BACK WITH AN EX? Derek Ramsay said that whenever he looks back on his past relationships, he’s not at all bitter since he is also reminded of the good memories. “Most definitely the benefit of having an ex is the good times that you two had, the memories that you had. Naging ex nga kayo but I always look at it that there’s always more good memories than bad memories but just two people that weren’t meant to be together. I always go look back down memory lane and when I remember a certain ex and she puts a smile on my face I think that’s the benefit,” he said. When asked if there is a chance that he would get back with an ex, he responded, “In my state right now no because I’m very happy now with my life so it would really be unfair to that person I’m in a relationship with and even to myself na I’m in a relationship and I’m thinking of my ex, ‘di ba?” With his experiences in love, Derek remarked that there is really no rule on how to make it last. “I don’t think that there is any rule, just like with love and finding that someone you want to have a relationship with. I don’t think there are rules. I think you try to set the rues, but I don’t think that you ever follow that rule.”

n Gandang Gabi Vice, Derek Ramsay talked about his exes. Derek said he has six exes and three of them are in showbiz. The three are Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes and Solenn Heusaff. He also admitted he has an ex whom he wishes not to cross paths with. He explained the reason for this is, “Sobra (niya) akong sinaktan intentionally.” He added that it would have been different if that ex didn’t hurt him intentionally. The ideal would be, he said, if they respected the relationship they had and they talked about the things they needed to talk about. Apparently, this didn’t happen. Asked if he is talking about Angelica, Derek stayed silent. Derek also said that there was a girl who, “I actually broke my own heart for.” He explained that they loved each other so much but there was “too much turmoil I had to get out kahit na alam ko na mahal na mahal ko siya.” Derek said that he was the one who broke up with this girl and he broke his heart by doing so. Derek eventually divulged that this girl he is talking about is Solenn.

He stressed that when it comes to love, getting hurt is part of it all. “Those rules are set because I think that they are afraid to get hurt, but that’s the thing about love right? It’s a great feeling but that can also bring a lot of pain. You set the rules as a defense mechanism, you fall in love and you end up breaking the rules so [it’s like] let’s just put the rules there to avoid getting hurt, but it’s inevitable.”

Coleen Garcia admits she didn’t want Billy Crawford to watch ‘Ex with Benefits’

On Aquino and Abunda Tonight, EX with Benefits stars Derek Ramsay and Coleen Garcia revealed how they did their kissing scenes. Derek said they didn’t actually talk about the kissing scenes and how they were going to go about it because doing so would make the scenes appear technical. Rather, they talked about other stuff, basically getting to know each other so that they would be more comfortable with each other when they need to do kissing scenes. Derek told Coleen, “I’m trying to gain your trust.” Coleen also said they talked about the execution of the kissing scenes up to a point but the rest is “surrendering” and “allowing it to happen.” The two said kissing scenes can’t be faked because as Derek says “kitang-kita kapag daya.” In EXwith Benefits, Derek and Coleen had the most difficult kissing scenes because there are “levels.” There’s that youthful kiss when they were in College, or that romantic kiss when they were falling in love. Asked if it is the kind of movie they can show their partners, Coleen admitted that she didn’t want beau Billy Crawford to see it at first. But being “supportive, pinilit niya.” Derek, for his part, said his girlfriend is “really good to watch it.” Derek added that it’s a brilliant film and she’s just as excited as him to watch it.

It really shaped to be the person I am now and it taught me to be strong and to put myself first sometimes.”

Does she want to follow in the footsteps of Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes? After being paired with Derek Ramsay in Ex With Benefits, Coleen Garcia was asked whether or not she wants to pattern her movie career after Anne Curtis’s and Cristine Reyes’s. Both actresses were previously paired with Derek in blockbuster films. According to Coleen, she wants to make her own mark in the industry, saying, “Right now kasi I’m really experimenting so much so I don’t know kung saan ako papunta, kung ano ‘yung mga projects na susunod so right now I’m just taking everything that comes and I’m taking everything step by step.” She continued, “ I’m feeling everybody naman in the industry leaves their own mark in a different way, hindi ‘yung ‘the next ganito’, ‘the next ganyan.’ Everybody’s different in their own way. They do their own part, their own signature, their own way.” Coleen admitted that playing her role in the movie Ex With Benefits was such a challenge since she needs to be emotionally vulnerable which is far from who she is as a person. “In real life bato ako eh. I have to be strong for so many times so ako in real life hindi ako ‘yung tipong umiiyak sa harap ng tao, hindi ako ‘yung tipong nagsasabi ng feelings ko because I taught myself to be strong [despite] everything so that’s something that was hard for me because I have a big wall.” She relayed that she needed to really focus on her character in order to produce the required emotions for the scenes. “So it’s hard because I need to break down those walls. For this project I have to be vulnerable so hindi nagwo-work sa akin ‘yung nagfo-focus ako sa mga sarili kong problema. So iniisip ko na lang ‘yung mga instances, ‘yung mga situations if I’m this kind of person. I have to really focus on my character itself.” Was there a particular scene in the movie which she found really difficult? “I was challenged in a lot of scenes and I feel like all the scenes that we do were necessary to the film so ayun kasi my character has so many stages in he life. There were times that she was so vulnerable, there was a time na parang naging ganito din siya, so everything that we did was necessary.”

I realized growing up that there’s no perfect family

At such a young age, Liza Soberano had already faced the harsh realities of life especially when it comes to her family. In an interview in Metro Magazine’s September 2015 issue, Liza shared how her parents went their separate ways while she was still very young. “I think my dad moved back to the Philippines when I was like, [age] one and my mom was pregnant with my brother Justin. So I was just with my mom for a while.” When her mom was put in a position where she could not take care of them, she was out under her grandmother’s care. However, her grandmother developed a health condition so they needed someone to take good care of them. She was then left in the care of her dad’s (John) parents who were still living in California at that time. “I don’t have the perfect life. I don’t have a complete family, I’ve never had the perfect Christmas nor the perfect birthday because my family is never complete. But even though I didn’t have the perfect life, I was always kind of used to it,” she remarked. She stressed that all the while, she became very accepting about the situation her family. “Like, I never looked for anything more. I accepted the fact that it’s never going to be the way I want it to be. RECEIVES GREAT FEEDBACK ONLINE he fantasy-drama series All of Me starring Albert Martinez, Yen Santos, and JM de Guzman premiered on Kapamilya Gold last Monday, August 31. The heart-warming show started with a middle-aged man named Manuel (played by Albert Martinez) being shot in the middle of a forest one stormy night. He then falls into a magical lake and regains his youth. Perplexed about what happened, a young Manuel (played by JM de Guzman) pleaded with the fairy who appeared before him, to return him to his old self. However, the fairy cannot do that and instead, asked him who he is. Manuel then began narrating his life story to the mystical creature. He returned to 1965 and recalled a kindhearted boy who dreamt of becoming a doctor. He lived with his mother and got close to a doctor named Vicente. Circumstances led Manuel to separate with his friend while his mother eventually died. Consequently, Manuel became a successful doctor. He even established a hospital in memory of his mother. He met his wife and brought her to his island. Unfortunately, his wife succumbed to cancer. Heartbroken, Manuel entrusted his hospital to Henry (played by Arron Villaflor) and decided to stay on the island where he met Lena (played by Yen Santos). At first, Manuel was irritated at Lena’s talkativeness but because she got stranded in the island, he was forced to live with her. Manuel and Lena’s relationship did not go well as they kept on arguing until Lena got to leave the island. One morning while Manuel was buying his supplies at the market, he encountered a woman who fainted. Because there was no doctor around, he decided to practice his profession again. Unknown to him, the woman was Lena’s mother. This marked the beginning of their friendship as Manuel decided to become a doctor again in their community clinic.

On Kris TV, host Kris Aquino, who is known to be very close with her Etiquette for Mistresses co-star Kim Chiu spilled the beans and shared Kim’s sweet moments off-cam with her on-screen partner and rumored boyfriend Xian Lim. “Naghihintay si Xi na matapos siya [Kim] that was pa-four in the morning naghihintay sa phone na sabihin niyang ano, dahil ayaw matulog kasi daw it’s unfair na matutulog siya na si Kim was still working,” Kris revealed. popularly known as “Pastillas Girl” caught the attention of the people when she shared her story on It’s Showtime’s segment “adVice Ganda.” She got the name “Pastillas Girl” when she uploaded a video sharing a recipe of Filipino delicacy pastillas with some hugot lines. In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph, she shared that the video was made merely for entertainment and that she was already healed from her heartbreak when she filmed it. “Oo, actually ano siya katuwaan lang. Nung time na in-upload yun, actually tinatanong nga nila kung bakit ko daw yun in-upload ang sabi ko it is for fun lang siya talaga. Tinatanong nila kasi bakit daw may hugot so parang ako, yes kung sa hugot at sa hugot meron akong huhugutin but at the time na ginawa ko yung video, I was really okay na,” she said. Pastillas Girl also shared that she was really affected with her last relationship because it involved a friend. After their break up, her ex-boyfriend is now in a relationship with Ms. Pastillas’ friend. “I had five boyfriends so every relationship really has a heartbreak ngayon yung latest one it was really hard kasi she was my friend. Sakit ‘di ba? Totoo hindi naman lahat ng tao yung boyfriend mo magiging jowa siya nung friend mo and naniniwala kasi ako sa ‘bro code’ and alam mo yun even if I were in the position nung friend ko I won’t do that.” She also didn’t expect that the video she made would be an instant hit on the Internet. RICHARD GUTIERREZ AND SARAH LAHBATI SAY THEY HAVE PLANS TO WED SOON

n Rated K, Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati recounted how they met and fell in love.

The two met while doing a teleserye and they quickly hit it off because as Sarah puts it, “We have so much in common.” At first they kept things private but later on they revealed their relationship by posting pictures on social media. Sarah said that at first her parents were “aloof” towards Richard, but they warmed up to him after they got more acquainted with each other. Sarah said that she was also scared the first time she met Richard’s mom, Annabelle Rama. However, when Sarah got to know Annabelle better, she changed her mind about Richard’s mom’s ‘mataray’ reputation. “She’s such a different person from what we see on TV,” she explained. She was in Paris with Richard when they confirmed that she was pregnant. Sarah then decided to leave showbiz, “take a break to just focus on my pregnancy.” She also decided to stay in Geneva, Switzerland while awaiting the birth of their baby. Sarah admitted that they did not plan on having a baby yet but at the same time baby Zion has been their greatest blessing and something that she doesn’t regret. Richard and Sarah then carried on a “long distance parental affair.” Richard admitted it being one of the toughest times in his life because, “Alam kong mag-isa siya sa Switzerland.” Richard also says that the highlight of his days that time was when Sarah would update him about the prenatal developments of baby Zion. When Sarah was almost full term into her pregnancy, Richard had a chance to take a leave from work and visit Sarah. “Wala akong ginagawa kundi bilangin ang araw ng pagdating niya at antayin ang paglabas ni Zion,” Sarah shared. Richard was so happy seeing Sarah big and pregnant. “I was so happy na makita siya. Sobrang laki na niya nun. Sobrang cute para sa akin.” Richard also enjoyed his time in Switzerland, where he is not a star and he could roam free just like a regular citizen. “I would ride the train alone, buy her food, and come back to her.” Luckily, Sarah gave birth when Richard was with her in Switzerland. “I was so happy I was there during the birth. Ako ang unang nakahawak kay baby Zion.” Sarah gave birth to cute baby Zion on May 17, 2013. The two kept mum about baby Zion for a year until Richard announced Baby Zion’s existence on June 2014. Now Zion is a toddler and Richard shared their plans for him. “We want him to finish his studies, then he can do what he wants after that.” Richard and Sarah also clasped each other’s hands tightly during the interview as they announced, “We have plans for soon,” referring to their wedding. DIRECTOR ANTOINETTE JADAONE REVEALS SECRET BEHIND SUCCESS OF ‘ON THE WINGS OF LOVE’

New TV director Antonette Jadaone unabashedly confessed that she had no idea that her first TV soap On The Wings of Love would be as successful as it is today. During a recent sit-down interview with the hugot director she poked fun at how tense she was days before they aired their pilot episode. “Kinakabahan rin ako kasi kung makapag-promote itong ABS (CBN) akala mo lunas sa AIDS itong On The Wings,” she said with a laugh, adding that she wanted to tell the public, “Guys relax lang po. TV show lang po ito. Ano ba ito lahat nalang. Parang hindi naman po kami ang sasagot sa korupsyon sa Pilipinas.” She shared that all the intense promotion somewhat added to the mounting pressure that she felt at that time “Pero nagtiwala ako doon sa Dreamscape tsaka nagtiwala ako sa project.” But when they started airing and with their hashtags ranked among the top ones on social media every night, Direk Tonet, as she was fondly, revealed that she was relieved by the public’s warm reception of OTWOL. “Sobrang parang akong nabunutan ng tinik kasi bago ‘yung style eh. Kasi rom-com siya, eh sinabi sakin na ang history ng third slot sa primetime it’s usually not very light. Usually it’s hardcore drama, ‘yung talagang epic, sexy. Kaya doon nanggagaling ang kaba namin,” explained Direk Tonet. But what does she think is the reason behind the soap’s success? “Unang-una talaga si JaDine talaga. Feeling ko ‘yung love team talaga ‘yung unang-unang nagdadala kasi feeling ko kung ibang love team ‘yun hindi ganon kalakas ‘yung magiging effect,” declared Direk Tonet pertaining to the pairing of the soap’s lead stars James Reid and Nadine Lustre known as JaDine. For the box office director, it was a blessing that the love team was previously not that visible in the Kapamilya network. “Kasi first nakatulong na hindi sila nagt-TV, pelikula lang sila. So fresh face itong dalawang ito. Wala silang regular thing sa TV na parang aabangan mo. So feeling ko nakatulong ‘yun nung lumabas sila sa TV ‘yung mga tao ‘Sino itong dalawang ito? Bakit sila binigyan ng show?’” she added. But another reason behind their show’s success, for Direk Tonet, is really the love team’s “built-in” chemistry. “Hindi mo sila kailangang i-direct sa kilig. Kailangan mo lang sabihin kung ano ang gusto mong mangyari. Ang maganda rin sakanila galing sila ng pelikula so ‘yung timing nila sa mga kilig nakukuha nila,” she said. Personally, Direk Tonet takes pride in the fact that she herself is getting affected by JaDine’s chemistry. “Ewan ko feeling ko talaga malaking part ng On The Wings ay JaDine. Feeling ko ‘yung kilig na ‘yun, ako kasi as a director kapag dini-direct ko sila kinikilig ako eh. Kapag nag-e-edit ako kinikilig ako sa kanila. MARLO MORTEL AND JANELLA SALVADOR TALK ABOUT WORKING ON ‘HAUNTED MANSION’ Although they have been sorely missed by their fans since their morning soap OH My G! ended last July, love team Marlo Mortel and Janella Salvador promised that they would be seen together soon as the release of the trailer of their first movie draws near. MarNella, as their love team is often called, will be headlining their debut movie titled Haunted Mansion. Directed by Jun Lana, the horror flick is also set to be a Metro Manila Film Festival entry this year. In an exclusive interview with Push.com.ph at the recently-concluded Melai Mo May Concert where Marlo was a guest, the two revealed that they are almost done shooting the flick. “We’re almost done actually. Apart from MarNella, their Be Careful With My Heart co-star Jerome Ponce is also part of the upcoming movie. VICE GANDA SPEAKS UP ABOUT IT’S SHOWTIME’S CURRENT RATINGS

Hindi kasi talaga sinasabi ng management. Kahit minsan, tinatanong namin, hindi naman kami sinasagot. “Eh minsan, sa Twitter, lumalabas ang ratings, pero hindi naman regular. AI-AI DELAS ALAS NOT ABLE TO SEE JIRO MANIO’S FATHER IN JAPAN

After comedienne Ai-Ai delas Alas took Jiro Manio in to a facility for his recuperation after being found loitering in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3,her next mission for her foster son Jiro is to make his dream come true. In Ai-Ai’s previous interviews, she said that Jiro’s wish is to meet his biological father, who is a Japanese national named Yusuke Katakura and that she has located Mr. Katakura through the help of her friends in Japan. She recently went to Japan to be able to talk to Mr. Katakura personally regarding his son Jiro. Vic Sotto revealed that shooting for his Metro Manila Film Festival movie titled Romcom-in Mo Ako is about to start on September 18. Vic will topbill the film with commediane Ai-Ai delas Alas. “On September 18 hopefully we will be able to break the ice and kaunting revisions na lang sa script,” Vic said in an interview at the Citiglobal event. The TV host added that they are now finalizing the casting. “As of now, ayos na ayos na ‘yung script, ‘yung casting na lang ‘yung inaayos namin,” he stated. Vic relayed that this movie is very different from the previous MMFF movies he has done. The suspense thriller film Honor Thy Father which stars actor John Lloyd Cruz and is directed by Erik Matti has earned positive comments from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). It was recently announced that this movie would go international after having failed to enter in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). In John Lloyd’s previous interviews, he stated that he’s not expecting anything regarding the possible inclusion of the film if ever a movie backs out from the MMFF but he said that all he knows is that the movie is beautiful. “Honor Thy Father is many things: a suspenseful story of betrayal and retribution, a drama about familial reconciliation, and a commentary on the tenuous nature of newfound wealth,” says Steve Gravestock of TIFF. HEART EVANGELISTA: ‘WE’RE VERY HOPEFUL THAT THIS ELECTION WILL BE DIFFERENT’

“Kasi po nong kinausap po kami ni Ma’am Charo (Santos-Concio) at sinabi po kasi niya ‘Bigyan natin ng halaga at ng panahon ang ating mga kapulisan naman na maibalik ang pagmamahal at respeto.’ At nong nag-iisip po kami ano kaya ang magandang kwento ng kapulisan na bago nating maiihain sa ating mga manonood, isip po kami ng isip kung ano po, tapos bigla na lang po na may pumasok sa isip ko na bakit kaya hindi natin gawin ang isa sa mga pelikula ni FPJ,” he shared. Ryan Rems has been keeping audiences entertained after winning on It’s Showtime. Here are some fun facts about the comedian who wants to rock and roll the world. On life before comedy Ryan admitted that he was actually quiet in school. “Tahimik talaga ako eh. High school, college, tahimik talaga ako pero maganda lang talaga ang timing ko.” He shared that he used to be a teacher before he became a comedian. “Iba’t ibang trabaho [ang ginawa ko] pero pinakamatagal kong raket ‘yung online English teaching at ‘yung informal English teaching. Informal kasi wala akong lisensya so maliit lang siya na classroom. Minsan [kaunti] lang siyang estudyante, apat, mga Asians, mga Chinese, Koreans ‘yung clients namin madalas.” He acquired a degree in Communication Arts. “[Nag-aral ako] sa CEU, namili ako ng course na walang board exam, cute lang,” he said. After rising to fame upon being hailed as the grand champion of It’s Showtime’s “Funny One”, Ryan relayed that his family is still not used to his popularity. “Mas matagal mag-sink in sa kanila. Kahapon nag-family dinner kami [tapos] biglang may tumabi sa akin. Para sa kanila kalurky lang. [Pero] na-orient naman ako ng lifestyle nina Elvis Presley noon so sinasakyan ko na [lang ang mga fans].”

On Love Life Ryan is currently single. His last relationship was three years ago which lasted for four years. “Three years ago na ‘yun eh. Na-meet ko lang siya sa Ortigas palakad-lakad lang non tapos booking-booking. Four years naman may mga pag-ibig na nagsimula sa booking eh,” he stated. When asked why he is still single, the comedian responded, “Andiyan sila Jose Rizal, si Mr. President, why not me?” He added that he is still not that eager to settle down. During his interview in Funny One’s grand presscon, he relayed why he is still single. “Kasi bago ako sumalang dito, so-sweldo, gogood time, so-sweldo, go-good time tapos nakalimutan kong 36 na pala ako tapos parang okay lang wala naman akong hinahanap kasi pag may pumatol na chicks tinitingnan ko lang pagpumasa siya sa audition ko,” he said. On what he is looking for a girl, he quipped, “’Yung mura lang yung table charge.” On his rock band history Before he became a comedian, Ryan Rems was an active band member. “Dati kasi mahilig ako sa banda tapos ‘yung mga nasasalihan kong banda parang waley naman. Nagbanda naman ako dati from age 16-30 years old.
