Coco Martin and Sarah Geronimo appear on the big screen together for the first time in Maybe This Time. This latest Star Cinema offering tells the story of how a summer romance blossomed into forever love. Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng, Maybe This Time is a story about Steph “Teptep” Asuncion (Sarah Geronimo) and Tonio Bugayong (Coco Martin) who met during the summer of 2007 and fell in love. But their romance was cut short when Tonio chose to leave for reasons he could not tell Teptep. After seven long years, their paths cross again. But now that Tonio is already dating a new girl named Monica (Ruffa Guttierez), will they still give their love a chance or will they simply choose to move on? Sarah fully embodied the charming

Sarah Geronimo plays coy about a certain ‘first time’ experience

Coco Martin admitted that he felt overwhelmed when he learned that his movie Maybe This Time scored big at the box office on its first day of showing. The movie earned 20 million on its opening day. “Hindi ako makapaniwala, kahit kanina hanggang pag-uwi sa bahay halos hindi ako makatulog. Kaya nga sabi ko hindi lang nila alam kung gaano ako kaligaya na hindi ko inakala na makakagawa ako ng ganitong klaseng pelikula,” Coco said. When asked if what he thinks is the reason why people chose to watch their film, he commented, “Siyempre maganda ‘yung konsepto, siyempre baka na excite din sila sa unang tambalan namin ni Sarah (Geronimo) sa big screen at sabi ko nga hindi lang dahil ako ‘yung artista na umaarte dito at kasama ako sa pelikula, kundi talagang napakaganda ng pelikula.” He added, “Sabi ko nga kikiligin ka, papainlovin ka at paiiyakin ka, kumbaga kung gusto mo talaga ng parang bago at makakapagbigay ng inspirasyon sa buhay mo at sa puso mo itong pelikulang ‘to, saktong-sakto para sa ’yo.” On his favorite scene in the film, Coco relayed that he really likes the ending. “‘Yung dulo sobra akong kinilig. Sabi ko nga kahit ako nga artista sobrang kinilig. Pero sabi ko masaya eh, kikiligin ka at papaiyakin ka.” Coco shared that some of his and Sarah’s dialogue in the film, especially in the ending, were uttered spontaneously. “Yung mga dialogue namin, ‘yung adlib-adlib namin, kami na ‘yun eh. Kumbaga sabi ko nga basta si direk, inupo lang kami, [sabi niya] ‘Bahala na kayo ha,’ kumbaga ‘yun na tinatawag na chemistry,” he said.

Her delivery of lines was sharp, smart, and spot on. It was refreshing to see Coco Martin showing off his comical side in the movie. Coco suits his character well as the unassuming, uber confident and simpatico Tonio. More than anything else, Coco was brilliant in the movie’s dramatic scenes. Though this is their first big screen partnership, Coco and Sarah successfully established a palpable onscreen chemistry in the movie. Both were natural as onscreen lovers and were able sustain the romantic connection of their characters throughout the entire duration of the film.

It seems that Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo has culled a lot of knowledge these days when it comes to love and falling in love. This she displayed during the recently-concluded blogger’s conference of her newest rom-com film under Star Cinema and Viva Films titled Maybe This Time opposite award-winning actor Coco Martin. The actress openly and extensively talked about when would be the right time to fall in love. “Pag-ibig? Katulad ng sinabi ni Coco, walang makakasabi sa atin kung ano ang pag-ibig na talagang nakalaan para sa iyo. Kapag ikaw ay nagmamahal, siyempre gusto mo na mag-last forever,” she began. While she believes that a person should give “100%” of love for his/her partner, she underscored that “dapat alam mo kung paano rin aalagaan ang sarili mo.” The Voice Kids coach even went on cryptically opening up about a certain “first time” experience which many presumed to be about her love life. “Para sa akin nga wala pa naman ako sa posisyon pero kung anuman ang mga pinagdadaanan ko ngayon ay first time kong nae-experience sa buhay ko,” she added. “Magti-26 na ako pero first time kong nae-experience ang lahat ng ito. Basta ang importante lang siguro ay you seek guidance kay Lord, ‘di ba? Ipagdasal mo lang kung ano ang will Niya talaga.” According to Sarah, everything about her—even her own love life—she has subjected to the Lord’s will because “Kung tayo lang ay go lang tayo nang go, hindi ba? Kapag nagmahal tayo, talagang ipaglalaban mo. Pero kapag si Lord na ang nagbigay ng senyales na, ‘Anak, tuloy lang, anak... Tama na.’ Maniniwala tayo na si Lord ay in-charge din sa love life natin.” When asked to clarify about that first time experience that she was talking about, Sarah suddenly backpedaled and only shared “Siguro ang mga pinagdadaanan ko sa buhay ko, yung mga personal sa buhay ko na pinagdadaanan ko, ayun… Mahirap magbigay ng personal details, pero in time…” The question however remains, is she and Matteo Guidicelli a couple now? “Alam niyo po, bilang respeto sa pelikula at sa leading man ko, hindi tamang panahon para sagutin ang personal issues,” she said. The young diva has been relentlessly linked with athlete-actor Matteo Guidicelli after they were seen spending time together. While they have both stayed mum on the real score between them by saying that they would reveal what is there to reveal “in due time,” fans couldn’t help but presume that they are already an item especially since sometimes, the two are seen with Sarah’s parents, Mommy Divine and Daddy Delfin Geronimo. Meanwhile, the film, which tackled the botched love affair and the closure (or the lack thereof) between Coco and Sarah’s characters Tonio and TepTep, has taught her a thing or two about love. “Mamimili ka ng klase ng pagmamahal… kasi merong pagmamahal na mababaw. Hindi naman tayo nandito para manghusga ng pagmamahal na pinagdadaanan ng bawat tao, pero at the end of the day, we want to have the kind of love na buung-buo sa puso mo, na hindi lang dahil you want to please the other person, the other half. Dapat masayangmasaya ka rin dahil naging totoo ka sa sarili mo,” she explained.

REGINE TOLENTINO

Fil-American Regine Tolentino immediately impressed audiences with her gift of gab and skill in dancing. She became an MTV Asia VJ and a celebrity judge on the show Keep On Dancing. She is currently the dance and fitness expert on GMA’s Unang Hirit. She also recently appeared on ABSCBN’s hit teleserye Be Careful With My Heart as Maya and Ser Chief’s wedding planner. Aside from managing her clothing businesses, Regine also teaches dance and Zumba.

Star Magic formerly known as ABS-CBN’s Talent Development and Management Center first launched their “new generation” of stars in November 1995. The seven young hopefuls were introduced to the public as Star Circle Batch 1. Members of the batch included Regine Tolentino, Victor Neri, Jacqui Manzano, Maricel Morales, Cholo Escaño, Trisha Salvador, and the late Rico Yan. Now on the occasion of Star Magic’s 22nd anniversary, Push takes a look back on some of the members of Batch 1 and tracks down where they are now.

VICTOR NERI

After his stint as a teen star on Ang TV, Victor Neri was groomed to be Star Cinema’s homegrown action star. Victor starred in various action films including Iskalawag: Batas ay Batas, Amanos (Patas ang Laban), Notoryus, Tigasin, Suspek , and Ex-con. In 2006, Victor took a hiatus from the showbiz world and pursued a career in the culinary arts and became a professional chef. Seven and a half years later, Victor now returns to his acting roots in the Cinemalaya film Separados, which will be shown in August.

CHOLO ESCAÑO

Cholo worked mostly as a film actor in the late nineties to 2004. He starred in movies such as Hataw Na, Magic Temple, Sagad sa Init, Laro sa Baga, Kailangan Kita, and Now That I Have You. Cholo also delved in music and he was last spotted doing gigs with his Voices Unlimited partner Nino Alejandro in 2013.

MARICEL MORALES Maricel became Mutya Ng Pilipinas and represented the Philippines in the Miss Asia-Pacific Beauty Pageant where she became one of the 12 finalists. She later became the representative to the Mrs. World Pageant in 2001, where she finished as first runner up. Maricel appeared in various films like Virgin Island and Tapatan ng Tapang. She last appeared on TV via the GMA soap Trudis Liit. The actress eventually pursued a career in politics and is currently a City Councilor in Angeles, Pampanga. She is also a single parent to her two children AJ and Miccho.

JOROSS GAMBOA Set to be married late this year to his longtime non-showbiz girlfriend, Joross recently obtained his Mass Communication degree from the Southville International School and Colleges, a course which took him almost 13 years to complete after shifting from Computer Applications to Nursing and finally to Mass Communications. Although he was part of many dramas, Joross has proven himself an effective comedian, as seen in the box office film Starting Over Again which starred Piolo Pascual, Toni Gonzaga, and Iza Calzado. He’s also part of the weekly sitcom Home Sweetie Home.

Neri was in a few shows before she “semi-retired” from the spotlight for some years. She made a few guest appearances and appeared in support roles over the years. Her last project with ABS-CBN was in the teleserye The Legal Wife, where she portrayed the role of the young Rio Locsin. More recently, Neri became embroiled in a scandal when her sex video with boyfriend Chito Miranda was leaked online. After weathering through the scandal, Neri is now on her way to her happy ever after as the Parokya ni Edgar front man finally popped the question to her. The video of Chito’s music-video-inspired wedding proposal went viral late last week with fans expressing happiness for the couple of over two years.

After returning to Korea and becoming part of the girl group 2NE1, Sandara, or Dara, became well known all throughout Asia and countries with a K-pop following. The group recently marked their fifth year anniversary with their All Or Nothing concert at the Mall of Asia Arena last May 17. Fans got to see her on local television when she made guest appearances on various Kapamilya shows such as Aquino and Abunda Tonight, It’s Showtime, and Gandang Gabi Vice. She also made a return visit to the Pinoy Big Brother house and mingled with the PBB All In housemates.

ROXANNE GUINOO Roxanne became a part of several Kapamilya shows like Palos, Florinda, Sineserye presents: Natutulog Ba Ang Diyos and Ligaw na Bulaklak before she eventually settled down to marry businessman Elton Yap in 2011. Their then four-month-old daughter Rain Eliana served as one of their flower girls. Although she still became active in showbiz, Roxanne left ABS-CBN in 2010 and moved to another network.

MICHELLE MADRIGAL The morena beauty had a few roles on ABS-CBN shows before she moved networks. She also joined another reality show where she became quite the controversial character. Apart from acting, Michelle has also delved into the real estate sector as an International Marketing and Sales Officer for Century Properties. When she’s not busy with work, Michelle works out or cooks healthy dishes.

After emerging as the Grand Teen Questor of Star Circle Quest, Hero became active at the Kapamilya network through youth oriented programs SCQ Reload and ASAP Fanatic and as part of the fantasy series Krystala led by Judy Ann Santos. His team-up with Sandara Park was so popular that their movies Bcuz Of U and Can This Be Love were certified box office hits. In 2005 though, Hero abruptly ended his contract with ABSCBN and transferred to another the Favola Shirts, a project of the Pagnetwork. It was during this time asa Social Center Foundation, Inc. that Hero pursued a Fine Arts Hero recently participated in the Young degree at the University of the People’s Business event in Italy, a project Philippines and is now making aiming to create a network of different good use of it as the endorser of civil society associations worldwide that Philippine Tourism shirts called work with young entrepreneurs.

JOSEPH BITANGCOL After doing a string of ABS-CBN shows and a movie, Joseph became a freelance artist who appeared on other networks. He keeps himself busy doing indie films, theater plays, and out-of-town shows.

Melissa is probably the most visible one of the batch on local television. She had lead roles in shows like Pedro Penduko, Kambal sa Uma, and Nasaan Ka Elisa? She was also part of the phenomenally successful teleserye Walang Hanggan, where she played the sometimes good, oftentimes conflicted Johanna. Melissa was last seen in the feel-good series Honesto which starred her fellow Walang Hanggan cast member Paulo Avelino. She’ll soon be seen on TV again in an installment of the legal drama Ipaglaban Mo.

The youngest in the SCQ batch 1 was in a few shows before he concentrated on his schooling instead. With a degree in Accounting, Errol is now part of the finance department of an upscale hotel. According to Errol, only a few people in his current circle of friends know that he was once part of show business. That changed when he along with his fellow SCQ questors made a guest appearance on Gandang Gabi Vice.

RAPHAEL MARTINEZ Raphael thrived outside of showbiz by pursuing a Marketing Management course in San Beda. He’s now part of the marketing team of a fire protection company.

elebrity couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez have recently been the rumored subject of a blind item pertaining to a married couple who have supposedly parted ways due to a third party. But the couple, albeit refusing to comment on the issue, seemingly belied the issue through their posts on their respective social media accounts, according to The Buzz's Sunday report. Muhlach and Gonzalez celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary last May 28 and on the same day, the former matinee idol took to his Facebook account to post the surprise that his wife and kids made for him. Shown on his video post was a wooden pathway in their Batangas home littered with flower petals and

letters which eventually made up the line "Happy 13th wedding anniversary." "Good morning, guys! I woke up to this," Muhlach said in the video, referring to his wife's early morning surprise, "Man, oh man! She always does this to me." Gonzalez for her part posted a photo of the flowers she received from her husband on her Instagram account with the caption, "Flowers always put a smile on girl's face. Thank you bb. 13 years, happy anniversary." A separate post of the beauty queen-actress revealed that they had a dinner date. n her exclusive one-on-one interview on The Buzz’s Sunday episode, Jackie Forster revealed to Boy Abunda that her daughter Caleigh’s Leukemia is currently on remission. “Medically speaking, she’s in remission and she still needs to go through two years of chemotherapy. But when we look at her we pray, when we talk about her, she’s cured.” According to Jackie, Caleigh had fever that would not go away so she took her to the hospital for a check-up. “Nung una nilalagnat siya. It was on and off so we thought better to bring her to a specialist, someone who knows exactly, like a pediatrician. I was scared it would be dengue. So I took her to the pediatrician Monday. So the doctor told me, because she had her blood drawn, of course he knew the symptoms, feeling niya she might have Leukemia. I was even thinking ano yung Leukemia? Like, I’ve heard of it, it’s a sickness, oh it’s dengue right? In denial pa nga ako, so I have to have him explain to me and everything just started to unfold one by one after that,” the former actress explained. Jackie also said that Caleigh is awared of her condition and that she prays with the family about her illness. “Yes. Siya pa nga ang nagdadasal para sa amin. Keep us safe, keep us healthy. She’s aware. She only learned of the word cancer recently, through her brother, but she doesn’t use it. But she calls what she has, ang tawag niya dun aliens.” Jackie, who was involved in a

controversy with her sons with exhusband Benjie Paras, says people have judged her because of that and some even blamed her for her daughter’s sickness. “No matter what happens, I’m gonna fight this through with my head held high. Because I know people are gonna say, ‘ayan, ayan kasi.’ And when I pray about it, can’t the people keep bringing me down.’” She even said the people have been posting hurtful things on her Instagram account. “On my Instagram, I’ve had people say, it is my fault… because it’s karma.” As a mother, Jackie’s only wish is for Caleigh to live a long, meaningful life. “That she just enjoy her life, a long and healthy life. I pray that she forgets all the pain. I don’t want her to remember…” To share in her daughter’s hardship, Jackie also had her hair cut short when Caleigh’s hair started to fall out because

of her chemotherapy sessions. “She was scared. Natatakot siya magtanong. Pero when she goes to the hospital, nakikita niya lahat sila magkakamukha. So she needed to eventually. So we did it medyo gradual. She mentioned she misses her long hair, when is my hair going to grow long? I thought that it was time for me to tell her.” Jackie’s advice to those who are sick and families who are going through the same thing as her is to stay positive despite the hardship they are going through. She added that her daughter is returning that positiveness to her. “They just have to focus on the good. Do what you need to do so the person gets well. Most important is the person is happy, so make that person’s life happy. Caleigh, she’ll have chemo, any procedure, she’ll ask me the next day, she’ll have me open the windows and she’ll tell me to look out and see how beautiful the sunrise is. She paints for me, she’ll paint a boat with water, and the sky pink. ‘Caleigh, the sky is supposed to be blue.’ ‘No mom it’s pink and orange.’ I’ll say ok. Then days later, she said, ‘Mom, look out. See I told you so. She’s an angel.”

Actually she keeps talking about her kids and you can see how much she really loves them. The model, who has also been dabbling in hosting, acting, and more recently, business, said he is enjoying trying different things. “I’m a big, big fan of acting. I like portraying different roles. I love action, but lately I’m trying to do more dramatic roles. I want to maybe change my image a little bit and prove to the people that I can do drama so I am looking for new opportunities to do drama. I just have to study more Tagalog,” he said. Handling a business is also a new challenge for Fabio. “Ever since I became part-owner of Gramercy, when I’m there on Wednesday nights I’m not just partying I’m working. I’m in charge of the models night. I do more acting and hosting now instead of modeling. I have two shows on TV. Right now we have a lot of gigs in the province. And since I became an entrepreneur so I’m learning a lot about business. It’s good. It’s something different than just being showbiz. There’s something new to learn everyday, from my partners, from the staff and everyone who works with me,” he added. Aside from being active in soccer, the Blue Water Day spa endorser said he has always been sporty because of his genes. “Yung tatay ko basketball player sa Brazil so a lot of people ask if I’m a basketball player because of my dad. He plays for the national team. When I came here, we started to promote football instead

But ever since even when I was in Brazil I love surfing so I always try to go to Zambales, Baler, La Union, everywhere that are places that try to make me happy. In an interview at the recently-concluded pocket press conference of their upcoming series titled Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon, Paulo shared that they shot a titillating scene the first time that he and Bea went in front of the camera and he confessed that it wasn’t that easy. But after having finished a couple of scenes, Paulo was able to prove home much of a brilliant actress Bea is. “She’s very organic,” described the actor who even highlighted Bea’s best trait as a colleague. “Nirerespeto niya rin ‘yung fact na kahit sabihin mo na bago rin ako. While he admitted that he’s not very learned when it comes to being on the court, Manny said that this wouldn’t hinder him in leading the team for he intends to focus on being a coach. Manny is raring to build a championship team in the next two to three years. While many are scoffing at his new role, Manny shared that prior to
