MANAGER’S COLUMN
STEVE
HOUSHAM
May I welcome the officials, players and supporters of Bromley FC to our home this afternoon, and I hope after an enjoyable game everyone has a safe journey home. Welcome to the Eon Visual Media Stadium as we take on Bromley in the National League. We have had two away games in a quick turnaround since our last home game. Firstly Boreham Wood, who have been doing well and not conceding many goals, so we knew it was going to be another test for us, but yet again luck was not on our side.
ourselves up for an away game at Tranmere Rovers, the biggest club in the league, and what a night for the players to go and give it there all and try a pull off a shock result! A shock they so nearly did, to a man they were like warriors on the night and really wore their hearts on there sleeves and then in the 94th minute, hearts were broken. I was gutted for the lads I stood there
need to keep and I’m confident the bad luck we have been getting will turn and the lads will get the rewards their performances deserve. Today sees us host Bromley, and also a run of 4 games against teams in the bottom half of the table, this is were we need to show the desire to stay in this league by performing like we have against the sides from the top half of the table. This week a special mention to you the fans, what a great turnout at Boreham Wood last Saturday! A massive thanks from me and the players. Then at Tranmere 13 of you in that stand on a Tuesday night, you was fantastic you was the winners that night. Some actions from their fans have no right to be called supporters, but you 13 were not just a credit to North Ferriby United, but to the footballing world thank you!
We had four penalty shouts turned down and also hit the bar, then lost to a stunning strike just after half-time. We had to try and quickly pick
on the touchline and felt sick for the boys, but was so proud of their efforts. After Tuesday’s performance I’ve told the lads that’s the standards you

BROMLEY
North Ferriby United make a welcome return to home soil hoping to end a run of seven straight losses in the league against Bromley... The transition to National League football was always going to be a tough ask for North Ferriby United, even more so given the amount of upheaval in the summer, but a number of things have gone against the club in recent weeks.
one and maintain the fantastic support against Bromley this afternoon.
Steve Housham can’t ask for much more from his troops, with five of their seven losses by a single-goal margin. Having conceded late on in a number of matches will also be a bitter pill to swallow for the Villagers.
The Ravens, themselves have had mixed form of late picking up losses against Wrexham and the in-form Dover Athletic, before a credible draw with Lincoln City.
But this is the time when the club must come together as

Their opponents sit in 18thplace in the table and today presents a real opportunity for Ferriby to end their poor run of results.
The club will want to end their three-game losing run in all competitions this afternoon.

Who are the key men from Bromley to keep your eye on this afternoon? We introduce them to you here.
THE TEAM GOALKEEPERS Alan Julian
DEFENDERS Joe Howe Dan Johnson Ben Chorley Rob Swaine Jack Holland Lee Minshull Joe Anderson Ugo Udoji Michak Stanic-Stewart
ALAN JULIAN
JACK HOLLAND
Bromley’s number one, Alan Julian signed from Sutton back in 2015 midway through the National League South promotion season. Known for his acrobatic saves and distinct voice he kept 9 clean-sheets in Bromley’s inaugural campaign in the National League. Has a number of clubs on his CV from Stevenage, Newport County, Dartford, Sutton United to Brentford.
Supporters player of the Season last term, Jack Holland has become a huge part of Bromley FC since his move back in 2013. . In his time at Bromley Jack has played in almost every position you can name. Predominantly being considered as a centre-half, Jack has played at full back and also had a spell up-front last season which proved to be a huge success scoring 6 times.

ROB SWAINE
JOE ANDERSON
An essential part of the success of the 2013/14 season, Rob Swaine made the switch to Bromley from Billericay Town. Since his move Rob has gone on to gain captaincy in his first two seasons. He guided Bromley to a play-off finish in his first season and was then part of the Conference South winning side back in 2014/15. Injury hampered his previous two seasons but he’s a fans favourite.
Picking up two accolades at the end of season dinner (Committee Player of the Season and Players Player of the Season) Joe Anderson has been an ever present force in Bromley’s defence over the past three seasons. Calm on the ball and known for putting away free-kicks, Anderson continues to be one of the first names on the team sheet come match-day.
THE OPPOSITION
THE RISING STAR
BLAIR TURGOTT DAVE MARTIN The 31 year-old, Erith born winger has had an impressive career spanning over 12 years. Working his way up the leagues. The experienced winger has since played for the likes of Derby County, Southend United, Luton Town, Bristol Rovers and Whitehawk. Martin was the third signing during pre-season and has already put in impressive performances.
REECE PRESTEDGE Never afraid to get stuck in, Reece Prestedge is the epitome of a hard-in-the-tackle midfielder. The 30 year-old signed for The Ravens in 2014 after a lengthy spell as club captain at Bishop Stortford. Dominant in his first season, Reece netted 6 times in the champions season but fell down the pecking order following promotion.
TOBY SHO-SILVA
ADAM CUNNINGTON
The 21 year-old forward impressed throughout pre-season and has worked his way through the Charlton academy. Two loan spells at Welling United came in 2014 before a season long move to Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Coming into the Bromley squad during pre-season, Tobi was one of a number of trialists that has taken the eye of supporters and will certainly provide a test for defences.
Widely travelled Adam Cunnington joined The Ravens from Ebbsfleet halfway through last season. He signed for Ebbsfleet in 2015 and amongst 26 appearances and 9 goals he made a loan move to Woking before his permanent switch to Bromley. Throughout Preseason Adam has spearheaded the attack and will no doubt be vital in any success this season.
With a youth career at West Ham spanning 10 years Turgott has had an illustrious football upbringing. Turgott has represented England at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances. Turgott’s contract at Orient ended this summer and he signed for The Ravens prior to the start of the new season.
THE GAFFER
NEIL SMITH Club legend John Askey was appointed caretaker manager of the club last season after the departure of Steve King. The position was made permanent in the summer giving him the reigns for his second stint in the Moss Rose hot seat. Now approaching 30 years with the club, as a player he was approaching his 700th appearance as a player.

LEAGUE ROUND-UP
LEAGUE REVIEW Guiseley AFC moved off the foot of the table after a 1-1 draw at Nethermoor against a Gateshead side who equalised late on. Southport achieved their first league win beating a York City side who haven`t won since the beginning of September. It was goalless at the break, notable only for the visitors to have to change goalkeepers after an injury to Kyle Letheren, but just 3 minutes into the second period, Jamie Allen gave Port the lead from the spot when he beat replacement keeper Scott Flinders, couldn’t prevent Allen from doubling the hosts’ lead in stoppage time. Braintree Town added to Woking`s woes when they moved level on points with the Cards in fourthbottom spot after beating them by the odd goal in five at Kingfield. At the other end of the table, Forest Green Rovers maintained their fourpoint lead at the top after grinding out a 1-0 win at the Automated Technology Group Stadium against Solihull Moors. The home side gave as good as they got in the opening 45 minutes without managing to break through. And when Rovers did manage to break the deadlock on the hour-mark, it was a Moors` player who 12
NORTH FERRIBY UNITED The Official Matchday Programme
did it for them when Liam Daly could only knock a Dan Wishart cross past his own keeper Dan Lewis. Dagenham & Redbridge kept the pressure on Forest Green by edging out an Aldershot Town side who came to East London having lost just once in eleven games. Lincoln City remain in third spot, two points adrift of the Daggers, after winning 2-0 at Sincil Bank against a Boreham Wood side who came into the game on a run of three successive wins. Barrow AFC complete the top five after they shared a 2-2 draw at the Racecourse Ground against a Wrexham side who had Dean Keates in permanent charge for the first time. Dover Athletic remain level on points with Barrow after a 2-0 win at Hayes Lane against a Bromley side who were beaten by Wrexham last Saturday. Ultimately, it was two goals in 3 minutes midway through the first half that sealed Dover`s win against a home side who finished with tenmen. Top scorer Ricky Miller made it 15 for the season to date when he gave the Whites a 25th minute lead that Ross Lafayette quickly added to 3 minutes later.
Eastleigh and Macclesfield Town are both just a point behind Dover, but only Ronnie Moore`s Spitfires managed a win on Tuesday after the Silkmen were held to a goalless draw at the Moss Rose by neighbours Chester FC, who maintained their good run with the aid of the woodwork on two occasions – it denying sub Danny Rowe on both occasions. Eastleigh had a comfortable 3-0 win at the Silverlake Stadium against a Torquay United side who have managed just one goal in the last five games and are falling back towards trouble. In the battle of the clubs with artificial pitches, visiting Maidstone United halted a run of four successive league defeats by coming back from 2-0 down to earn a point at Sutton United. Headers from Dan Fitchett after 17 minutes and Nick Bailey after 23 minutes gave the U`s their lead. Crucially though, the Stones reduced the deficit just 2 minutes later when Bobby-Joe Taylor converted from the spot. And then right on the stroke of half-time, recent recruit Jamar Loza pulled the visitors back on level terms.

GUEST COLUMN
View From The
STANDS Sam Shepherd talks us through a frustrating few games of football for North Ferriby United... It’s fair to say October has been a month to forget for North Ferriby United. The Villagers have now played 6 and lost 6 games going into today’s final game of the month against Bromley. Since my last column there have been three very different types of defeats for Steve Housham’s side. Despite taking the lead inside the first minute in the FA Cup clash with Macclesfield, the home faithful saw their team implode and they went
was a vast improvement on the week before, despite recording a 1-0 loss. The team looked very well organised and frustrated the home side throughout the first half. They could have taken the lead just before the break when Connor Oliver struck a fierce drive from 25-yards that the goalkeeper did brilliantly to tip the ball onto the crossbar. This was massively frustrating for
home defence, but they were unable to find the elusive goal. The Villagers didn’t have much time to dwell on this latest defeat as they had a trip to Prenton Park to face Tranmere Rovers. This was another occasion where Ferriby fans will have been pinching themselves at the prospect of travelling to such a massive ground against a team with so much history but that is the level we have reached this season. Again Housham’s side were solid throughout and looked to have gained a valuable point, but they were left heartbroken when former Barrow player Andy Cook scored in the 93rd minute, so yet again, after a fantastic effort the Ferriby players left the pitch with the all too sickening feeling of defeat hanging over them.
