ISSUE 17 Welcome

Hello and welcome to what will be a tough afternoon here at Princes Park. Today we honour a young life that, in the last week, has been ended so cruelly early. KACEM MOKRANE was a student at out academy and in his column this week, Ian will pay tribute to the young man. The Mead will be wearing black armbands this afternoon in tribute and shortly before kick-off today you will be asked to show your respects in a moments silence… Elsewhere in today’s edition of THE MEAD? We’ve

more action shots of our match with Lewes; the Gaffer’s back after the midweek contribution from OB to reflect on recent games and of course we’ve all the latest club news in Mead Matters as well as our latest trip to the Chairman’s office… We’re back on the road next week with a Tuesday trip to Molesey and a Saturday trip to Ashford before we start a run of home games in “Daft December” here on WEDNESDAY 6th DECEMBER when we host Faversham Town with kick off 7:45pm – see you then… Cheers. PAUL BOWDEN-BROWN THE CHAIRMAN

May I extend a warm and friendly welcome to the officials, players and supporters of Carshalton Athletic to Princes Park the club’s new home for the next five years on this November Saturday afternoon and, after enjoyable game and some refreshments, they all have a safe short journey home. I would also like to once again thank all our supporters new and old that have taken the opportunity to support the club since our move from Thamesmead. As I walk around the ground I notice a number of old supporters that I am sure have taken the advantage of the community family season ticket offered to all those that live in the proximity of the ground, and a number of new faces that have become regulars. So I would assume that the majority of these supporters are from our landlords Dartford who join us when they are unable to join their team on matchdays and hopefully they take advantage of our Mead Card initiative. It’s not a bad deal being able to gain entrance to our matches for £5 and over 65s for only £2-50, but although our gate is increasing we would always like PAGE 04

to see more as I know the team like to play in front of a good size crowd, so please tell all your friends that they can join you enjoying an afternoon or evening watching TTFC be our 12th man and make Princes Park our fortress. At this time, sadly I must announce that Kacem Mokrane, an academy pupil of Thamesmead Town Football Club, died on Monday morning after an incident whilst away from the academy. I would, at this time, like to send the club’s and my own sincere personal condolences to Kacem’s family at this very sad time. Ian, my general manager and the gaffer that worked with Kacem will be saying more on this matter within his page, and today we will be holding a minute’s silence in remembrance of Kacem before kick-off, and you will see each member of our

THAMESMEAD TOWN V CARSHALTON ATHLETIC

squad wearing a black arm band this afternoon. On Wednesday evening we entertained a lively AFC Sudbury team in the Velocity Trophy. Tommy rested a number of players, but still put out a strong squad. The game was ruined by a very strong wind and a number of indecisive decisions made by a number of players. But in the end when it looked like it was going to penalties, we awoke and after a very decisive run by Ellis Green, Paul Vines thundered a header into the net giving us a 3-2 win and through to the last 16 at home against Corinthian Casuals at home a date to be arranged. Unfortunately, after the game it became very apparent that the queue for the medical room is growing with many key players being treated for injuries sustained.

and monitored. These, together with our current player suspensions, reduce dramatically the size of available squad for first-team selection by Tommy, but it might give the opportunity of some of the youngsters within the academy – who knows? At this time, I am looking too recruiting two people to join our friendly club firstly for a commercial person to join our small team at the club, it could be a full-time position or part time, but will totally depend on the type of person applying for this position.

They would be reporting directly to myself, it is a type of job that the right person can develop on their own merits for the benefit of all parties, so if you interested or know someone that would like to apply please make contact directly with myself and I will send a full job description. Secondly I am looking for a person that could bring the club into the 21st century with regard to its website and social media streams, so if you are a person that feel you could give the club some of your time to ensure this section of the club is updated

If you feel this could be of interest to you please make contact and discuss how you feel we could take this matter forward, my contact e-mail for both position is as follows: directorttfc@live.co.uk Let’s have a good game and see if we can climb the table, but it will certainly be a stern task this afternoon. THE MANAGER <

TOMMY WARRILOW THE manager

Good afternoon everyone and I’d like to welcome the players, supporters and officials from Carshalton who are here today. I’d like to start today by offering my condolences to the family of Kacem Mokrane, our apprentice who sadly died this week – all of the players and my management team would like to invite everyone who is here today to join us as we pay tribute to Kacem shortly before kick-off. It’s been a long time since OB and I as a management team have faced Carshalton – a couple of almost epic play-off games spring immediately to mind whilst we were at Tonbridge – and they’ve had a good start to the season, so we’re in for another tough ninety minutes today. And I wouldn’t expect anything else from a Carshalton team. We come into today with just one defeat in our past eight league games and are unbeaten in five which is a good run and during the week we continued the good sequence with a win that takes us into the next round of the League Cup. There’s an old saying about telling a good side when you don’t

PAGE 06

play well, and I think anyone who saw Wednesday night will agree that we didn’t match the performances that we’ve put in recently, but we were still able to edge out a very, very good AFC Sudbury side from the North.

demanding it!

I thought the lads were outstanding and dug in as I realise that we’ve been asking an awful lot of them lately especially from such a small squad of players that has been stretched by injuries and suspensions.

I can’t send Greenie off to sign players – we have to dig in deep and play through these knocks.

But as I keep reminding them, I’ve got to keep banging the drum to reach the levels that I know that we can achieve because I want the players and the football club at the end of the season to have something to be playing for – maybe in the play-offs to get out of this league. So, I know it’s hard, but it’s what I might call tough love – these boys are good players; they’re good lads and they give everything, and the demands are very, very high from all of the coaching staff. And I know that they can deliver so I haven’t got any problems about

THAMESMEAD TOWN V CARSHALTON ATHLETIC

I’m not sure of the teamsheet going into today, as we picked up a few bumps and bruises from Wednesday night, but again we’ve just to get on with it.

But on the other hand, the knocks are allowing some of the younger boy’s chances and a run in the team which is good for the club as we set the young boys targets to go for. I would, though, like to welcome Solomon Taiwo to the club – I know its early days now, but he could be a really, really good addition for us and I’m hoping that we can sit down over the next few days and sort out a good deal for all concerned. I was disappointed with the result at Lewes last Saturday, but as I said after we beat them in the FA Cup in early September, I still believe that they’re the best team that we’ve played this season

> THE MANAGER

and their form has proved that as since that September day, I think they’ve lost one game. Again, it’s the same scenario as Cray Wanderers – we’ve played them twice and only lost to a goal at the end of stoppage time. We know these clubs are bigger than us off the field and stronger financially, but it just goes to show you what a good close-knit unit we’ve become and are becoming! We’ll keep demanding so they keep performing and then we can sit in and around the play-offs getting players back and free of injury and suspension for the start of the New Year. That said, it’s not been a bad November for us – we know the circumstances we’ve been under putting in the performances competing to the level that we are with just a team if 16 to 18 players. So, for that, I take my hat off to all the lads – even though they don’t think it as I’m always moaning at them – but that’s what people must remember. We’re the only team in the league that are a team who are trying to be a club and that’s a process that will happen. In the meantime, we must all appreciate what these boys are doing for us. Get behind them as you always do, and we’ll see you in the bar after the game! Tommy Warrilow First-Team Manager

LEON SMITH THE CAPTAIN

Hello everyone and welcome to Princes Park, where we take on Carshalton Athletic in the Bostik League South. It was, I’m told, a cold cup game in store for us last Wednesday as AFC Sudbury travelled down and braved the M25 to us – and were caught by the Bridge en-route meaning a belated start! They went 1-0 up just before half-time, but we were level just after the break through Bode although I can only imagine what the conditions were like for the boys as the wind and the rain got increasingly worse! as someone who wasn’t at the game after being told to stay indoors with a heavy cold, something I hope will have cleared up in time for me to at least be able to attend today’s game with Carshalton which is another in the long line of big games for us and I’m gutted to be suspended again and missing out! I’ll be in among you today (cold permitting) and lets hope that with our backing the boys can continue the recent form and boost our points tally. Cheers Leon Smith First-Team Captain

THE Academy It is with a heavy heart, that I bring you the sad news that KACEM MOKRANE one of our academy boys passed away on Monday morning after an incident in Walthamstow. Kacem was a larger than life character and had just turned eighteen. He will be sorely missed by the staff and players of the academy and all connected with our club. The chairman, the club and my thoughts and prayers go out to Kacem’s family at this sad time and I thank you in advance for respecting the minutes silence of a life lost so young prior to kick-off this afternoon. Rest in peace Kacem. Back to the football and 11 days ago the academy lads played Dartford at our home venue, Long Lane and I’m pleased to report the lads won well. Back to the football and 11 days ago the academy lads played Dartford at our home venue, Long Lane and I’m pleased to report the lads won well. Dartford’s first team keeper, Deren Ibrahim, took their team and as always, bought a well-run unit to tackle our lads. It was a hard-fought match and below, Myron Dixon gives us his view of the match. “The match kicked off with both teams trying to gain the advantage over one another as the tempo of the match was very high. We

played a 4-3-3 formation which we have been playing all season and have begun to understand the fundamentals of defensive and attacking shape. “However, because of an early error from our defensive line Dartford played a long ball over the top towards the right-hand side of the pitch which lead to a good finish, but we should have anticipated the tactics of Dartford. “We started of very slow, but as the game continued we began to keep possession of the football which created openings for us and we took it just before half time, a spectacular finish from Ryan Oduleye Walters. “The second half began, and we rocketed out of the blocks like a race horse scoring early from great team play leading to Ade Adeniran showing everyone why the first team managers showing an interest in him, as he slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. “From this point on we were in control of the match and through good game management we were able to score again through Dante’s great finish from just inside the box. Despite pressuring us offensively we were able to withstand it and break quickly which led to a mazy run from Dante again who passed the ball around the keeper showing his quality and reason for first team call-up. The match ended 4-1 and we will be hoping to go into the

next match in good spirit.” Finally, a special mention to Academy player Ade Adeniran for coming off the bench and making his debut for our first team against Phoenix Sports. CLUB HISTORY

thamesmead town Thamesmead F.C. was formed in 1969 as a community team for local youngsters. The club merged with Southlake FC in 1973, and by 1979 were fielding a Saturday team, playing on local park pitches. In 1980 the club entered the London Spartan League at the Intermediate Division Three level and dominated the divisions in the early 80s, but were couldn’t gain promotion to the Senior Division until they gained senior status. In 1985, the club changed its name to Thamesmead Town FC, and later that year they relocated to Bayliss Avenue, before finally gaining senior status during the summer of 1987 and were accepted into the London Spartan League Premier Division. The club moved to the Kent League in June 1990, where they remained until 2008, generally finishing amongst the top half dozen in the table. In 2002–03, the club missed the runner-up spot on goal difference, despite bizarrely having more points than Cray Wanderers, who won the League! Keith McMahon took the helm in the summer of 2006 and this would be the beginning of a new successful era for Thamesmead. In 2007–08, Thamesmead Town were champions of the Kent League, winning the title on the last day of the season. The title ensured promotion to the Isthmian League, where they were elected to play in Division One North in 2008–09. The summer of 2009 saw work begin to give Bayliss Avenue a massive transformation as work began on “Sportsman Club Thamesmead” The Project aimed to deliver first class facilities for the

local community as well as a stadium suitable for Conference South which was hoped to be completed for the start of the 2010/11 season. However, delays ensured and it was at this time around September 2012 that former Maidstone United Chairman Paul Bowden-Brown became involved in the club as a director, with the main aim of stabilizing the finances off the field and then during January 2015 became outright owner of the club as chairman. When Keith McMahon resigned in early 2015. Before in 2012-13, the Mead finished 3rd in this division and beat Maldon & Tiptree on penalties in the final to gain promotion to the Isthmian Premier Division for the first time in their history. The club’s stay in the Premier Division lasted just one season, and the club endured two turbulent seasons, after Keith McMahon resignation The Chairman appointed Terry Spillane as his replacement unfortunately his reign was terminated by the Chairman early 2016 although the team was in the play-off positions. In the summer of 2016 the Chairman appointed Tommy Warrilow as the first-team manager, and with a new man at the helm came fresh hopes for the season, as Warrilow alongside his number two former Leather and Dartford skipper Alex O’Brien looked to take the club back to the Bostik Premier League. Pre-season began with a completely new-look squad yet it proved to be a historic season in the FA Cup, when the club were the first to play a tie in the Channel Islands before reaching the Third Qualifying Round for the first time in the club’s history.

In March 2017, the Chairman announced that the Club due to unacceptable rising costs at Baylis Avenue the Chairman had reached agreement with the Directors of Dartford FC to enter into a five- year Ground share Agreement that would allow the Club to play their home games at Princes Park Stadium. Dduring the 17-18 close season this Groundshare was formally sanctioned by the new Bostik league directors, as well as confirming that for the first time, the Mead would be competing in the South Division for the 17-18 season. In August 2017, the club enjoyed a record 8-0 win in the FA Cup (away to East Preston) which was not only the Clubs biggest ever win in the competition but was also the first time, we have won a competitive game by eight clear goals!

CARSHALTON CASUALS

Recent CLUB HISTORY Carshalton Athletic traces its roots to two separate teams playing in the area of Wrythe Green in Carshalton in the early twentieth century. Carshalton St Andrews was formed in 1897 by the vicar of St Andrews, Revd. C W Cleaver, and the club began playing in the Surrey County Herald League. In 1902 it was promoted into the Southern Suburban League Division Two West, but it agreed to fold and amalgamate with Mill Lane Mission in 1906. Mill Lane Mission registered the name change with the Surrey FA and played its first ever match as Carshalton Athletic on 7 September 1907 at home on the Wrythe Green recreation ground in a friendly against Westbrook (Thornton Heath). The original club colours were red jerseys and white shorts and its nickname is the Robins. Following the reformation of the club in March 1919, after the First World War, Carshalton moved into its still current home at Colston Avenue. The ground was built as a memorial to those club members that lost their lives in the war. Carshalton has most recently spent its time in the

Isthmian Premier League, along with a two-season spell in the Conference South from 2004. In 2007/08 the club avoided relegation on the last game of the season when other extraordinary League results kept it up. Then, the following year, the Robins just missed promotion to the Conference South, losing in the play-off final against Staines Town. The club ran into financial trouble by the end of 2008 but it was bought by local businessman Paul Dipre and, over the past five years, it has transformed. It is now one of the biggest community-based clubs in the south of England boasting two senior male teams, seven ladies/girls teams, 35 youth/ junior teams, two male and one female academy teams and two u18 teams. The club also has around 2,000 members, a thriving social side and Carshalton’s efforts have been recognised by the highest football authorities. The club won the ‘Surrey FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year Award’, the ‘South-East FA Regional Charter Standard Community Club of the Year Award’ and then the ultimate accolade of ‘FA National Charter Standard Community Club of the Year’

all in 2012. In May 2013 it was announced the club had won the silver medal at the UEFA ‘Best Grassroots Club’ awards. On the playing field, Carshalton progressed to the third round proper of the FA Trophy in 2011/12, recording convincing victories over higher League teams along the way: a 5-0 thrashing of Bishops Stortford and a tremendous 3-1 home win against Lincoln City saw the Robins eventually succumb in Wales against Newport County. Carshalton suffered relegation to the Ryman Division One South at the end of 2013/14. Last season (2015/16) saw some progress for the first time since relegation, under the guidance of firstly Matt Howard and then Chris Mc Ginn the club finished in a respectable tenth position . During the close season Chris McGinn unexpectedly resigned and the club took the opportunity to promote midfield player Peter Adeniyi to player Manager. In his first season the club finished sixth just missing out on a play-off position. Going into season 2017-18 the club is aiming that much higher.

2 LEWES J Smith (57, 90)

Saturday 18th November The Dripping Pan Attendance: 546 Bostik League South

2 THAMESMEAD TOWN Pacquette (10), Parrish (42)

A terrific point gained or two lost at the end of a titanic battle in Sussex with the BOSTIK South pace setters? That’s the bottom line of the Mead’s Saturday afternoon by the sea… A cold bleak damp Saturday didn’t help the mood as the Mead were undone by the leaders super sub Jonte Smith who scored with almost his first touch and then deep into stoppage time to grab the leaders a point that on the balance of play they probably deserved. But that should take nothing away from a fantastic Mead performance and hugely deserved point which extends the recent league run to just one defeat in eight games. Yet after taking a fully deserved two goal lead through Richard Pacquette and Danny Parish, to concede an equaliser so late in the contest was tough to take. But the point that the Mead did return home with means that it’s now just four points away from the play-off places still with games in hand… The two sides of course have met already this season, with Tommy leading the boys to a 3-0 win in the FA Cup in August. Since then though Lewes

have been almost unbeatable – winning 12 and drawing three of their 16 games since – which highlighted just how good a start the Mead made on the day as the visitors duly surprised the home side when Pacquette drilled home on ten minutes and took the game to the leaders to such an extent that it took Lewes 27 minutes to have a shot that threatened Lewis Carey in the visitors goal. Pacquette was then denied a second after a great run from Raph Duyile which saw Duyile’s shot cannon off the keeper and the Mead’s number ten saw the rebound scrambled off the line. It delayed the inevitable though just a couple of minutes as Bode Anidugbe powered through, aided by a terrific advantage from the match official – one of his “better” moments on the day – and via a great ball from Tom O’Connor, the ball fell to Parish who doubled the lead with a drive into the corner. The Mead almost expected a comeback from the home side and to be fair that’s exactly what they got, but it was inspired by substitute Smith who pulled one back almost immediately after coming on. Medlock was then denied by a fabulous block from Carey before the Mead keeper reacted smartly to tip over Smith’s diving header and then shortly after Coppola

fired wise with the goal at his mercy. The Mead then came agonisingly close to sealing the game when substitute Paul Vines brilliantly worked half a yard for himself only to be denied by a desperate last-gasp challenge, before Jake McIntyre pulled off arguably the tackle of the day just as Smith looked as though he’d worked room for himself as the 90 minutes expired. Sadly, though for the Mead, Smith was to have the last laugh as from the resulting corner, he beat Lewis with a low shot into the net to spark wild scenes amongst the home fans. For the Mead, it was tough to take yes; but to get that close to beating the League leaders at kick off for a second time this season – remember the Mead dumped Lewes out of the FA Cup in August – really illustrates the strides that this group of players (today dressed in blue and white stripes) have taken as they move to within four points of the top six still with a game in hand. Wednesday 22nd November Princes Park Attendance: 67 Velocity Trophy

The Mead progressed into the last sixteen of the Velocity Trophy with a hard-earned triumph over BOSTIK North side AFC Sudbury. It was a cold wet night at Princes Park that didn’t start well as the visitors were held up on the M25 and didn’t arrive at the ground until twenty-five minutes before the scheduled kick off. With the Mead showing a number of changes for various reasons from the side that drew at Lewes, the delayed start seemed to unsettle both sides as both struggled to get going and it was on the stroke of half-time that Booth gave Sudbury the lead. A low drive from Bode Anidugbe then pulled the Mead level just after the break only for Sudbury half-time sub Mundawarara restoring the visitors’ advantage within minutes. The home-side’s progress was sealed with two Paul Vines goals in the closing twenty minutes – the first a scrambled effort before a stunning header from an Ellis Green cross six minutes from time – to send the Mead into the last sixteen. The Mead naturally enough created the better chances as Sudbury recovered from their trip as Vinesy just didn’t get enough on an early header to trouble Sudbury

visitors the half-time advantage.

Ellis then drilled a chance over the bar before Danny Parish rounded the keeper only to run out of room as he tried to pull the ball back.

The home side responded well and Bode drove home the equaliser from the edge of the box only three minutes after the break.

Sudbury then had their best chance when central defender French headed over when well placed at a corner, before Tom O’Connor did remarkably well, but couldn’t just steer his shot inside the far post. The visitors then took the lead in slightly fortuitous circumstances. Collins raced in behind the Mead defence looking suspiciously offside, but as the flag stayed down, he was denied by a great save from Max Ovenden. Sadly for Max and the Mead, the ball ran to Booth who gave the

The Mead though were only level for two minutes as Mundawarara pounced at the far post to sweep Sudbury back into the lead. It was a lead that began to look as though it would be enough but then almost out of nothing Vinesy pounced in a goal mouth scramble to prod the Mead level, before six minutes from time before any potential penalty shoot-out, the Mead’s top scorer powered home his ninth goal of the season as he headed Ellis’ cross powerfully into the net to send the Mead into the last sixteen and a home tie with Corinthian Casuals. by Mike Green

FEATURE INTERVIEW:

JOE DENNY

In the latest of our player features, the spotlight falls on the youngest member of Tommy’s squad who already has made a big impression in Mead colours – this week Greenies been talking to JOE DENNY...

PAGE 26

THAMESMEAD TOWN V CARSHALTON ATHLETIC

> PLAYER HEADLINE INTERVIEW OF PAGE IN

When he first arrived at the SCT last season, Joe was very much finding his way at this level of the game as he explained: “From day one I didn’t have much experience in men’s football, and I was not that confident in my own ability as a player,” he said. “At youth level at Ebbsfleet United I learned the nice pretty stuff the ball on the floor and how to be a good player on the deck. To be a better player I have to add the ugly side of the game which wins your personal battles in the aspects of tackles and headers for being a centre back. “Now being here at Princes Park, the facilities are one of the best in the league and we have all the capabilities to go onto the next level now.” So many people have commented about having to play two games a week almost every week from the start of the season – we wondered how the “youngster” felt about it. Joe told us: “We don’t have a big squad, but the quality of our squad has shown with our recent results we have been getting.

“We always go to the final whistle which shows we have very good fitness levels which was put into us through a hard pre-season. We also have a very good warm down after the game and for me personally, I always look after myself after the games finished with a lot of stretches.” With a manger who himself was a central defender of some note, what is the gaffer like to play for. Joe replied: “In Tommy I have a manager who believes in me as a player and aspects a good performance from me every week which is good because this makes me perform better as a player. “Tommy being a centre back when he was playing always gives me little reminders of what to do and how to defend properly. Being with experienced defender like Avo, who has played at a high level for many years, helps me understand the game better and get better as a player with the tips he gives me when on and off the field.” The recent results that Joe mentioned have taken the Mead to within touching distance of the play-off

pack. But nearly half way through the season, who does Joe thin will be there come April? “The top teams in our league our not too distant from us if we are being honest. I think Cray Wanderers are a good team the way they move the ball about and will be up there along with Lewes and we’ve heard good things about Carshalton and will have to be on our game today. Also I thought the Walton Casuals front three was very lively and we did well to get a clean sheet against them.” Finally, five “footballing first” questions that we’re asking everyone... First football kit bought (either for you or by you? A Manchester United kit with David Beckham on the back. First album or CD bought? Now 63. First football match attended? Charlton vs Manchester United at The Valley. First car owned? A Fiat Punto. First foreign holiday? Ibiza.

CRAIG’S CORNER <

CRAIG GIBSON THE coach

Welcome to Princes Park our new home - Jamie and Greenie have finally let me write some words for the programme, so here goes! Hello again and welcome to another Thamesmead Town extravaganza. The past four league games have seen us take eight points from a possible 12, firstly a rather drab 0-0 draw at Walton Casuals with a stuttering performance, which is still I believe a game we would have lost last season.

For a time, it looked as if the light bulb had switched on all over the park and, while the gaffer is hard to please, I am sure deep down he was delighted as we threatened to run riot.

We then travelled to Herne Bay and, for me, we put in the best 45 minutes I have seen from the team in a long while.

Harvey had to have smelling salts at half-time, he was so far up the pitch! He scored two goals and there was even talk of a hat-trick – yes, the words “Harvey Brand” and “hat-trick” being used in the same sentence, UNBELIEVABLE! Sorry Harv!!!

The first half was nearly a complete performance with EVERY single player doing their job, working hard allowing their skill to shine through.

Hopefully this gave the travelling Mead fans something to cheer about and, for us, to see 17 fans at Herne Bay on a cold November night was brilliant.

PAGE 28

THAMESMEAD TOWN V CARSHALTON ATHLETIC

Not many compared to most clubs, but nonetheless appreciated by every-one of us! The journey back was just as bad as the journey home from Hastings a couple of weeks ago – this time a tour of north Kent after they shut the M2, so we arrived back at Princess Park after midnight! Yet another joy of nonleague football! We travelling to Lewes last weekend the then league leaders, who have only two defeats – one of course the 3-0 victory we enjoyed over the Rooks in the FA Cup back in August. Would we have settled for a point

prior to the game? Probably yes; were we happy with a point after the game? NO! To be leading 2-0 at half-time we have to learn to manage a game and finish the job rather than settle for the point at 2-2.

> CRAIG’S CORNER

It was the second time it has happened and this cannot happen again and the gaffer made his feelings well known to the players, harsh but unless we learn in these situations we will not get where we want to be as a team or as Individual players. We’re still involved in the Velocity Trophy giving Greenie another fixture headache after Wednesday night’s rather uninspiring 3-2 victory over AFC Sudbury. I say uninspiring, however I still take the positive; another victory and in many of these type of games we would have lost last season. Was pleased to see Max get 90 minutes and Lewi get a rest, and you know, I for one enjoy ANY cup we are Involved in, who would not want to get to a cup final? It’s another big game for us today – said that a lot recently haven’t we – as we welcome Carshalton Athletic and I hope we can continue our good league form and secure three more points in our quest to cement our place amongst the play off positions, before two more bus trips next week this side of the river to Molesey and Ashford – I cant wait!!! Enjoy the game today. Craig Gibson First-team Coach
