PAUL BOWDEN-BROWN THE CHAIRMAN

May I extend a warm and friendly welcome to the officials, players and supporters of Whyteleafe FC to Princes Park the club’s new home for the next five years on this cold Saturday afternoon, and after enjoyable game and some refreshments they all have a safe short journey home. I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone associated with the club whether they be a player, supporter new and old, the first-team management not forgetting my fellow Directors who we have a couple more since my last notes a very happy and prosperous New Year. Whilst writing I would once again like to thank all of our supporters new and old that have taken opportunity to support the club since our move from Thamesmead. As I walk around the ground I notice a number of old supporters that I am sure have taken the advantage of the community family season ticket offered to all those that live in the proximity of the ground, and a number of new faces that have become regulars so I would assume that the majority of these supporters are from our Landlords Dartford who

PAGE 04

THAMESMEAD TOWN V WHYTELEAFE

join us when they are unable to join their team on match day and hopefully they take advantage of our Mead Card initiative. It’s not a bad deal being able to gain entrance to our matches for £5 and over 65s for only £2-50, but although our gate is increasing we would always like to see more as I know the team like to play in front of a good size crowd, so please tell all your friends that they can join you enjoying an afternoon or evening watching TTFC be our 12th man and make playing in Princes Park a fortress. Well here we are at the time most chairman review where their team is positioned in the league, if their team is in the bottom half they may decide to reduce the cost of running a team, especially if they think your team is safe. Others will maybe decide to increase the budget to ensure that they will secure a play-off place or higher for the season.

Well I have not had discussions or made any decisions with regards to the agreed budget as I speak to my manager on a weekly basis maybe daily in some cases. Tommy knows what’s he wants and as and when help is needed from me it will be there without any hesitation, here we are in 10th position with 2 games in hand on a number of teams around us, playing well and Tommy has been able to bring a number of new players in to strengthen the squad, and more importantly a very happy changing room something you definitely need in a small club like ours. I personally believe in hands on management it may drive some of those around me mad, but I know what I want and I ensure I have the right people around me, and that is one of the reasons I have increased the number of Directors in the club, I welcome Mike Dyson to the club.

> THE CHAIRMAN

Mike is our Commercial Director, an area that all those that have been involved with the club will know it needs great attention and I believe Mike will get us moving in the right direction. I have other ideas and I’m in detailed discussions on many fronts that hopefully within January I will be able to announce a number of scenarios that will show those around us that this football club means business and is here to progress up the pyramid to where a club with a football management team and squad like ours should be. Talking about new positions, I am still looking for persons that could bring this club into the 21st century with regards to its website and social media streams and the videoing of our own matches. So if you are out there or know someone that you think would

like one of these roles a person that you feel could give the club some of their time to ensure this section of the club is updated and monitored for the benefit of the fans and its growing supporter base please make contact and discuss how you feel we could take this matter forward, my contact e-mail for both position is as follows .directorttfc@live.co.uk . Finally, our apprenticeship academy went back to work during this week, so Ian Docker the club’s general manager will have his hands full, the original 12-month course ended yesterday, but we have negotiated a number of 12 week add on that will hopefully be well accepted and the pupils gain that bit more about being a football player we have had some success 3 academy players. My only sincere regret that still haunts me greatly is allowing our old Landlords the Peabody Trust

to take our youth set-up away from the club, with promises that we now know they could not keep. Would it not be great if I could succeed in bringing a clubs youth set-up to the club making this club a true community club rather as we are now a one team club, what we need is a pyramid of young teams with a clear pathway to playing for the first-team, all wearing the colours of the club, being involved on matchdays. That is what I miss, seeing young players in the clubs colours being around the ground, it may be a dream, but hey stranger things have happened in nonleague football. Let’s enjoy a good game of football Paul Bowden-Brown Director and Owner

THE MANAGER <

TOMMY WARRILOW THE manager

Hello everyone and I’d like to welcome the players, supporters and officials from Whyteleafe to Princes Park. Good afternoon everyone as I’d like to send a warm to everyone from Whyteleafe to Princes Park this Saturday and in particular John Scarborough one of my old players as he takes his first steps into management along with Paul Dale. I wish Scarbs well in his job and if he needs any help or assistance – after today of course – he knows where to get hold of me and I hope he’s a success – again after today!

that I’ve used a lot with some of the results – but our overall performances and our play have been very positive.

we’re playing a side today who are in a very similar position to us and are aiming towards the play-off area.

People from outside the club have commented on how well we’ve played and what a good side that we look, but unfortunately in a lot of games, we’ve been our own worst enemy at times and not got the results that we’ve deserved!

And so, we’ve got to focus on our own camp as the squad is now probably as strong as it has been throughout the season with everyone back from their injuries, suspensions, work commitments or short breaks.

We go into today again on another little run of five games I think – having won the two games that we managed to play over Christmas.

But the overall picture for me is a positive one for the club – I think the aura around the place even away from the football has higher expectations with the levels expected to come from Thamesmead Town Football Club increasing all the time.

And reflecting on the first half of the season to be perfectly honest, I do believe that it’s been a positive step for the club!

It’s a positive move forward and we’ve got to continue that into 2018 and push our way into the play-offs.

We’re all very frustrated – a word

The league is very tight and

PAGE 06

THAMESMEAD TOWN V WHYTELEAFE

I think for the first time this season we have genuine competition all over the pitch for places. As a manager that’s a hard thing to do as you’re going to leave people out but as a player it doesn’t do you any harm at all as it keeps you on your toes at all times and its part of growing up in football – for me it’s a learning curve to seeing how my players react to being left out and how they react to get back into the squad.

> THE MANAGER

We’ve changed teams through formations, but now looking at the squad a bit deeper there is a lot of competition in all areas to benefit us in what has become a very busy January! I’m delighted to have been able to agree terms with both Gabby and Williams this week who have come in and done a great job for us which again makes us stronger in those areas. Especially now that Jake McIntyre is back from his work commitments and with Richard Pacquette and Harvey Brand back from injury, it really looks like a positive start to the New Year, but we’ve got to take what we’ve learned from the first half of the season and make sure that the results match and warrant the performances we’ve been putting in and get rid of the word “frustration” once and for all! It’s all very positive for us as a club on the pitch and I know that off the pitch things are very, very busy looking to grow quickly and sooner rather than later as well. So, it’s been a busy first part to the season and let’s hope that the next stage matches up to it but its got to start now and give a good start to 2018! See you in Champs bar after the game, Cheers! LEON SMITH THE CAPTAIN

Hello everyone and welcome to Princes Park, where we take on Whyteleafe in the Bostik League South. Good afternoon everyone and I hope that you all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year! Having weather playing a big part in our festive programme we played just the once in the three scheduled games, but we were still able to take the three points against Molesey last weekend. It’s been a frustrating time for the boys in the last few weeks as we’ve kept conceding late goals or not taken our Proudly sponsored by... chances.

and OB tell us… We know that the Molesey game here last week wasn’t our best performance, but three points and a clean sheet is all that matters at the end of the day! Just like to say congrats to Max in goal last week for the clean sheet and an overall good – if at times an eye watering – performance! We all know that we go again today and as always, we thank you for your support and backing. Cheers, Leon Smith First-Team Captain

IAN DOCKER

THE Academy Good luck to Tom and the lads and here’s hoping for another well earned three points this afternoon. May I start my notes by wishing you all a happy and prosperous New Year and I hope everyone who celebrated it had a great Christmas, too. Academy life continues, and our lads returned to training and the education programme on Thursday, where we put them through their paces with high intensity interval training and small sided games.

Over the next coming weeks, our lads will be partaking in the FA Level 1 coaching badge under the watchful eye of FA coach STEVE QUASHIE, who until recently was their coach on our academy programme. Steve has been offered more work within the FA and the Chairman, the players and I would like to thank Steve for his tremendous hard-working efforts and his professionalism whilst working with us. We all wish him well in his new role.

It was encouraging to see the majority had maintained their fitness levels and we are all looking forward to the games between now and the end of the season.

On this note, the Chairman and I would also like to thank Linda King our tutor for her total commitment to the scheme and the lads. She has been a rock for these young scholars and continues to make the education fun and enjoyable. Many thanks.

This is an important time now for the academy lads because it’s their last part of the season to impress myself and the other members of staff.

Our next match is away to Millwall Lions next Wednesday – January 10th – and a match report by one of the players will be in the next programme notes.

Quite often, one or two of the lads who have been putting in steady performances, start to show improvement and force themselves into the frame of the watchful eye of Tom and Alex.

Enjoy today’s first-team game and if anyone is interested in sponsoring the lads until the end of the season please feel free to contact me on academy_thamesmeadtownfc@ outlook.com where I can discuss further. I look forward to hearing from you…

Let’s hope that this is the case and I’m hoping that Lennie Laker, Ade Adeniran and Dante McIntosh push themselves into first-team training on a regular basis after appearing for them this season.

CLUB HISTORY

thamesmead town Thamesmead F.C. was formed in 1969 as a community team for local youngsters. The club merged with Southlake FC in 1973, and by 1979 were fielding a Saturday team, playing on local park pitches. In 1980 the club entered the London Spartan League at the Intermediate Division Three level and dominated the divisions in the early 80s, but were couldn’t gain promotion to the Senior Division until they gained senior status. In 1985, the club changed its name to Thamesmead Town FC, and later that year they relocated to Bayliss Avenue, before finally gaining senior status during the summer of 1987 and were accepted into the London Spartan League Premier Division. The club moved to the Kent League in June 1990, where they remained until 2008, generally finishing amongst the top half dozen in the table. In 2002–03, the club missed the runner-up spot on goal difference, despite bizarrely having more points than Cray Wanderers, who won the League! Keith McMahon took the helm in the summer of 2006 and this would be the beginning of a new successful era for Thamesmead. In 2007–08, Thamesmead Town were champions of the Kent League, winning the title on the last day of the season. The title ensured promotion to the Isthmian League, where they were elected to play in Division One North in 2008–09. The summer of 2009 saw work begin to give Bayliss Avenue a massive transformation as work began on “Sportsman Club Thamesmead” The Project aimed to deliver first class facilities for the

local community as well as a stadium suitable for Conference South which was hoped to be completed for the start of the 2010/11 season. However, delays ensured and it was at this time around September 2012 that former Maidstone United Chairman Paul Bowden-Brown became involved in the club as a director, with the main aim of stabilizing the finances off the field and then during January 2015 became outright owner of the club as chairman. When Keith McMahon resigned in early 2015. Before in 2012-13, the Mead finished 3rd in this division and beat Maldon & Tiptree on penalties in the final to gain promotion to the Isthmian Premier Division for the first time in their history. The club’s stay in the Premier Division lasted just one season, and the club endured two turbulent seasons, after Keith McMahon resignation The Chairman appointed Terry Spillane as his replacement unfortunately his reign was terminated by the Chairman early 2016 although the team was in the play-off positions. In the summer of 2016 the Chairman appointed Tommy Warrilow as the first-team manager, and with a new man at the helm came fresh hopes for the season, as Warrilow alongside his number two former Leather and Dartford skipper Alex O’Brien looked to take the club back to the Bostik Premier League. Pre-season began with a completely new-look squad yet it proved to be a historic season in the FA Cup, when the club were the first to play a tie in the Channel Islands before reaching the Third Qualifying Round for the first time in the club’s history.

In March 2017, the Chairman announced that the Club due to unacceptable rising costs at Baylis Avenue the Chairman had reached agreement with the Directors of Dartford FC to enter into a five- year Ground share Agreement that would allow the Club to play their home games at Princes Park Stadium. Dduring the 17-18 close season this Groundshare was formally sanctioned by the new Bostik league directors, as well as confirming that for the first time, the Mead would be competing in the South Division for the 17-18 season. In August 2017, the club enjoyed a record 8-0 win in the FA Cup (away to East Preston) which was not only the Clubs biggest ever win in the competition but was also the first time, we have won a competitive game by eight clear goals!

WHYTELEAFE Its tenth against eleventh at Princes Park this afternoon as Whyteleafe have made the trip around the M25 this afternoon from their Church Road base in Surrey looking to kick start their away campaign after just a solitary away league win in their thirteen away trips. That said, a home record that has seen just under thirty points added to the tally has kept the side jointly managed by John Scarborough and Paul Dale in contention PAGE 16

tucked in just behind the Mead in the table at the turn of the year and looking to push on from a Christmas programme that saw them beat both Chipstead and Sittingbourne at Church Road after beginning the Festive fixtures with a 0-3 set-back at South Park. Since their return to this level in 2015, the Leafe have made the play-offs on one occasion, but that must be the aim of Scarborough and Dale as this season enters its second half.

> THE OPPOSITION

WHYTELEAFE

Recent CLUB HISTORY Prior to the Second World War there were several teams that competed locally using the Whyteleafe name notably Whyteleafe Junior FC and Whyteleafe Albion. Whyteleafe Albion competed for many years, but the club folded several years before the Second World War. A new club, simply called Whyteleafe FC, was formed in 1946. The new club commenced Junior football as members of the Caterham and Edenbridge, the Thornton Heath & District and the Croydon Leagues. Of these early years season 1951/52, was the most successful, with a strong ‘Leafe line-up becoming Thornton Heath League champions, winners of two local charity cups and runners-up in both the Surrey County Junior Cup and the League Cup. Two years later they progressed to the Surrey County Intermediate League (Eastern Division) and were Division 1 champions in 1955/6. 1958 saw the significant transition from ‘Junior’ to ‘Senior’ status and entry into the Surrey Senior League. This change required the club to move from the New Barn Lane School ground which was inadequate for senior football. Play commenced on the new ground in season 1959/60, and in the early sixties the club gained minor rewards. The next success came as the 1960s drew to a close which saw ‘Leafe as Surrey Senior League Champions and runners in the League Cup. In the 1970s the floodlight training area and stand were built and in 1975 the club moved into the London Spartan League before joined the Athenian League in 1981. In the 1984/85 season, a league reorganisation saw the club enter Division Two South of the Isthmian League. In November 1986 Steve Kember joined the club as Manager having been associated with the club for some years previously when with Crystal Palace with whom he had won considerable success.

A highly successful in 1988/89 saw the club win promotion as runners-up in Division Two South to Division One. Steve Kember resigned in July 1993 and returned to Crystal Palace as a coach and after several successful and well-publicised stints as Caretaker Manager. Paul Hinshelwood briefly held the reins following Steve’s departure and, following the resignation of his assistant Keith Wilkinson in October 1993, Lee Richardson became assistant manager. August 1994 saw Richardson appointed manager. This was a very popular appointment, as Lee had been associated with the club on and off since 1975 playing 400+ games. Season 1998/99 proved to be very mixed, with a season of chronic injury saw ‘Leafe struggle to survive in the league and avoided relegation by winning the last game of the season. The years that followed never lived up to 1999 and the club went into a slow but steady decline in fortunes. In 2002 the team hit a low ebb at Bracknell at Christmas where they suffered a heavy defeat that prompted Richardson’s resignation. Stuart Massey held the reins until October 2006 and after a spell with chairman Mark Coote picking the team. The team did reasonably well under Swindlehurst, he led them to a comfortable mid-table position and the club’s first cup final in 20 years. Stuart Massey was re-appointed Whyteleafe manager ahead of the 2008/09 season but only for a relatively short spell. The winter of 2009/10 was hard one and bad weather hit hard on the club’s finances. Massey resigned former AFC Wimbledon and Chipstead manager Nicky English took over in the summer of 2010. Despite the dire financial position the club found itself in English’s team had a purple patch after Christmas 2010, which included a remarkable 5-4 victory at eventual champions Met Police, and steered themselves away from relegation. Nicky’s hard work and commitment

was never in doubt but things just didn’t work in the following year and he left the club in January 2012 with Steve Griffin given the tough job of catching up 20th placed side Burgess Hill Town when 12 point adrift. The appointment coincided with a change in club constitution which saw Mark Coote become owner-chairman (as opposed to elected-chairman). The change gives the Club renewed hope of future development and progression yet the 2011/12 season ended in bitter disappointment and the club’s first relegation in its history. After a season of moderate success in the Kent League being badly injured in a car accident the summer of 2013 Griffin stood down and former Whyteleafe player and Croydon manager John Fowler joined the club. Fowler build a completely new team in a very short time and one that made an immediate impact. In a memorable season for the club, the team went on to win the newly named Southern Counties East League by a clear 11 points and amongst much celebration the team rejoined the Isthmian League of which they had been members for 28 of the preceding 30 years. The first year back in the Ryman League was also momentous and the team belied expectation finishing in fifth place only to lose out in a play-off match at Folkestone. Leafe struggled to repeat this achievement the following year and in 2016, John Fowler decided he had taken the team as far as he could and stood down. Former Farnborough assistant manager Leigh Dynan took over in October and began a period of major squad reconstruction. At the start of 2017/18 Whyteleafe topped the division and the future looked bright, but Dynan went on to leave the Leafe in October 2017 to join Kingstonian FC. John Scarborough was put in charge as Acting Manager and in November 2017 was joined by Paul Dale, former assistant manager at Tooting & Mitcham United, and the two were appointed Joint Managers.

3 THAMESMEAD TOWN Anidugbe (29), Avery (56), Vines (89)

Saturday 30th December Princes Park Attendance: 68 Bostik League South

0 MOLESEY The Mead ended 2017 with a comfortable home win over Molesey. Goals either side of halftime from Bode Anidugbe and Richard Avery with a late third from Paul Vines means the Mead finish the old year well placed in the table. After the reverse fixture had finished in a 3-3 draw that could have been anything up to 9-9, this was a more cagey affair that the Mead bossed from start to end, and gave the home side the points that took them into the divisions top 10 going into 2018. The chances came and went early on for the home side – Vinesy could keep down a header from Gabby Adelowo’s great cross; Bode blazed over after Laurent Mendy had been denied by Molesey keeper Allen, before Ellis Green went close with a low drive that fizzed into the side netting. Molesey then caused the home side a real scare as Andrew missed the chance of the half as he drove through the home defence only for Max Ovenden to stand big and bold to deny the midfielder from point blank range – even if the keeper did require a spell of treatment in his

lower regions before continuing. It literally proved to be the wake up the home side needed as Laurent, Bode and Tom O’Connor combined brilliantly before Laurent shot fractionally too high. Williams Danquah then created Ellis some great room down the left – room that Ellis was so very nearly able to exploit the space to the maximum only for Allen to save magnificently away to his right. The goal that the home side had been threatening however finally arrived on 29 minutes as Bode found himself some space and drilled in a terrific shot that flew low beyond the despairing Allen and into the bottom corner. The home side could have doubled their lead before the break, but Laurent had a header tipped over the bar in the halves closing stages before Allen made another great save to deny Vinesy’s curler and from that resulting corner Vinesy again just couldn’t force the ball home. The Mead needed a good start to the second half and duly got it as Avo doubled the lead nine minutes in – sub Danny

Parish (who had replaced Tom O’Connor at the break) nodded the ball back into the danger zone and Avo was on hand to head home into the empty net. Bossing the game brilliantly with Bode and Solomon Taiwo dominating in midfield, Molesey weren’t allowed anywhere near the time or the space that they were in the first game, but the best chance the Mead created Vinesy will probably be asking himself if he should have fed in Danny rather than shooting when well placed. The visitors nearly got an unlikely foot hold back in the game late on when substitute Sobowale hit the outside of Max’s right post late on from free kick before the Mead finally sealed the points in the last minute when Williams sprinted away down the left and his fabulous centre to the back post was powered home by Vinesy to complete the 3-0 win and the three points. NON-LEAGUE PAPER COLUMN <

IT really doesn’t seem all that long ago I was watching Dulwich Hamlet and Wingate & Finchley play out a 1-1 draw on New Year’s Eve along with 2,000 other people. So to say the last 12 months have flown by is an understatement but once again it’s been a year of real highs and lows. Let’s focus on the good times though – here are some of my own personal favourites. Lincoln City’s FA Cup run They called it the Impvasion – and that was just the trip to Ipswich Town for the third round. It’s fair to say none of the 4,000+ Lincoln supporters in Suffolk that day would have imagined their side would be in the FA Cup quarter-final against Arsenal a couple of months later. I saw first-hand how the romance of the cup helped a city fall in love with its team again and gave Danny Cowley’s men the platform for promotion. They got a 2-2 draw against the Tractor Boys that afternoon, before taking them back to Sincil Bank and winning in front of the live TV cameras. Brighton & Hove Albion were dismissed next before Burnley came out of the hat in round five. You sensed the disappointment among the fans that they hadn’t been handed a Premier League giant but that was still to come. Sean Raggett was immense all season for Lincoln and his late goal at Turf Moor catapulted the story of the year to even greater heights. I’ve watched Non-League football my whole life, to cover a team at Arsenal in the last eight of the FA Cup was a fantastic experience. Sutton’s FA Cup run

PAGE 24

THAMESMEAD TOWN V WHYTELEAFE

It can’t be forgotten that the team Arsenal played before Lincoln was Sutton United. Their cup story was wonderful too as they beat Leeds United and showed off why they are a unique Non-League club. It’s funny how some clubs write FA Cup history more than once. It’s as if the stories inspire the current generation of players, even if they have no other direct link. I remember being at Altrincham a couple of years ago when they knocked out Barnsley. In the makeshift media room underneath their home stand pictures of previous giantkillers were mounted all over the walls. Perhaps there’s something in it. Sutton are always seen on the FA Cup montages before the big games and for them to have the likes of Alexis Sanchez in their own back yard was something special. The money helped the club improve their homely ground too – one of the players tells me the new dressing rooms are like Wembley! Non-League Finals Day Cards on the table, I was unsure if hosting the FA Vase and FA Trophy final on the same day would work but, two years in, it feels like a permanent fixture in the calendar. The combined attendance for the two games in 2017 was 38,224 – with Step 5 South Shields followed down from the north-east by 13,000. With former Premier League star Julio Arca rolling back the years in the centre of the park, the Northern League champions proved too strong for Cleethorpes Town. And then we were served up a thriller between York City and Macclesfield as York ran out winners 3-2. The FA are determined to make

NLFD bigger and better every year. Some of that is out of their hands when it comes to who makes the final and the fanbase they can mobilise, but it’s a great opportunity for Non-League fans in general to support this level of the game. Players fulfilling their dreams A privilege of my job is seeing young Non-League footballers achieve their goals. I have so much admiration for the ones who get into the Football League, often overcoming the disappointment of earlier rejection. Of course, not everyone playing has that desire and there’s nothing wrong with that. But for those who do, Non-League is a perfect grounding. We’re really seeing the ripple effect of the success Jamie Vardy, Andre Gray and Sam Clucas have had in the Premier League with clubs making sure they’re not missing any gems. More and more have moved on in 2017, players like Jamal Lowe and Nicke Kabamba who moved from Hampton & Richmond to Portsmouth and the Rolls Royce of a defender Ethan Pinnock, currently thriving at Barnsley after joining from Forest Green Rovers. Then there’s Stevenage striker Danny Newton at Stevenage, who really felt the full impact of being selected for Vardy’s V9 Academy in the summer. The former Tamworth man has 11 goals so far this season. But there’s also talent further down the Pyramid as Alfie May is showing. He moved from Step 4 Hythe Town to Doncaster Rovers last January. Speaking to his Hythe manager Clive Cook at the time, you could tell how proud everyone was to have played a part in it. Matt Badcock NLP Writer

CRAIG’S CORNER <

CRAIG GIBSON THE coach

Welcome to Princes Park our new home - Jamie and Greenie have finally let me write some words for the programme, so here goes! First of all a Happy New Year to ALL and I personally wish everybody a happy & healthy 2018.

absolutely love telling people “ well it’s your own fault”, sensible? No not a bit of it just “sweet” revenge for all my years of suffering LOL

I am sure many of you saw in 2018 with a hangover & a bucket LOL!

The Christmas period was a little disappointing from our point of view with two games off due to the weather, while the home game versus Molesey saw us return to winning ways with a comfortable three nil victory.

Oh the memories, Ouch! I have missed many a 1st of January and after many many years I learnt my lesson, how boring I hear you say, not really as I now love watching others stagger all over the place &

PAGE 28

THAMESMEAD TOWN V WHYTELEAFE

I was particularly pleased for our

goalkeeper Max Ovenden who came in for Lewis who is away on holiday at the minute. Max works incredibly hard in training & you will often find the two of us out on the pitch both before & after games where we are able to work that little bit extra in our efforts to keep him sharp and ready when needed. He has had a couple of games out on loan recently and reports have

come back that he has done very well.

> CRAIG’S CORNER

Indeed I was pleased with his performance against Molesey. Whilst he did not have a great deal to do he did what was required and earned a clean sheet. His positioning was very good allowing a couple of sweeping up interceptions outside his box, his all-round game has improved and this shows with Tom having faith in him whenever he is called upon. As we move towards the business end of the season we can now see the contenders for promotion and the play-offs. If you have a look at the table you can see Lewes & Cray Wanderers setting the pace at the top & I think they will probably finish in those two top places. The race for the play-offs is still open and from now until the end of the season consistency will be key. We are still within touching distance, despite our indifferent form through December, so now is the time for us to grab that consistency baton and run with it to the finishing line, we have the capability, do we have the desire, the heart, the team spirit etc. If you ask the players they will tell you yes so now it is time for the talk to end and the action to start, come on boys let us ALL stand up to be counted and make 2018 special. Let us not reflect on 2017 I always prefer to look forward and I look forward to 2018 being a very successful year for us at Thamesmead Town. Craig Gibson First-team Coach
