As an Interior Designer working in Norfolk & Suffolk, I’m regularly involved in assisting and offering advice to clients. How best to make use of space available, or suggestions about how they might refurbish a new home. Listening carefully whilst working together is very important, after all, it’s all about what they want to achieve, and how I can help to make that happen. Everything from soft furnishings to a full design and build project, for either just one room or a whole house is regularly undertaken. Once confidence builds with clients and they become comfortable the smallest of projects can often grow, as opportunities elsewhere are discussed and investigated. Inspiration is one of the main areas I’m first asked to contribute towards, making a large selection of suppliers and samples essential. Collections of fabric, lighting, flooring and unusual cabinetry helps me to stand out from the crowd, and, as one of a select few distributors in Norfolk and Suffolk of Elitis wallpapers, I really can offer something different. The range varies from collections of mosaic style finishes to faux silk papers and bold geometric prints, both exciting and stylish. Heathfield Lighting, as shown, is another wonderful company I regularly use, so much so, I have several pieces in my own home. Individually commissioned bespoke sofas and chairs, no different in price to good quality pieces on the high street, and often much better quality, can make such a difference as we tailor them to fit a particularly tricky spot perfectly. Anything is possible with a little imagination and of course a lot of knowhow and organization. Working this way allows me to help clients choose just what’s right for them, making each room special, homely or WOW, if that’s what they want! Working from my shop on Norwich’s Unthank Road, I’m able to dedicate time to clients; showing them options and samples of products, and discussing every aspect of their home. This not only helps them to consider designs they may not have thought of otherwise, it also helps them enjoy the process, confident that they will achieve what they set out to do, and a whole lot more.
