In love with Love
By Dusty Garon and Tim Graveline
There’s something magical happening at 2890 Griffin Road. Perhaps it’s the big green bus parked outside the yoga studio or the appearance of a numerologist named Merlin who shows up on occasion, like the Mary Poppins of the spiritual community-but something seems to draw people from all walks of life to the I Love Yoga studio and boutique. Created in 2004, by Hollywood resident Michael Kupferberg, known to the yoga community as Moses Love, this year marks the 10th anniversary of I Love Yoga, a Karmic Yoga Company. Much more than a yoga studio and clothing boutique, I Love Yoga’s business model is serving to bridge yogic love to the business world. In doing so, their vision is becoming more than a successful brand, it’s quickly becoming a movement.
THE I LOVE YOGA CLOTHING LINE The I Love Yoga brand is an opportunity for people to connect with each other through powerful visual symbols and patches such as the ‘Om’ symbol and ‘Namaste’ greeting. “We’re more than a clothing company. We sell our product in yoga studios all over the world. We adorn products with sacred
symbols, positive affirmations; things we feel awaken our consciousness on conscious or subconscious level. We’re pollinating good vibes and good energy,” explains Love. I Love Yoga’s vision is for clothing to empower people as they go into the stresses of their daily lives. What started off as one t-shirt design that said ‘iloveyoga’ quickly grew into so much more as resources became available and they were able to take more of their ideas and turn them into physical products. Now the company boasts a line of thousands of different t-shirts, hats and other outerwear. Shirts boast mantras and sayings like ‘Namaste,’ meaning ‘the light within me acknowledges the light within you’ and a ‘Flower of Life’, a symbol of consciousness found all over the world composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles. These sayings in the patches remind people what we’re up to and why we are here on this planet.” Early on, Moses wasn’t as quick to design. “What gives me the right to be creative or step into that space?,” he thought. “I don’t think I was necessarily too creative or artistic as a child. I visited Japan about seven years ago to teach and there was a big shift that took place in me. I really got the whole vision of doing the patches. When people think of I Love Yoga, they may notice the distinction.

They set off on a journey, staying connected back home to the team and office via Skype. “We would pull the bus up to a scheduled stop and provide food or healing workshops, yoga and meditation classes and Zeina would lead women’s healing circles.” They documented the experience through the use of social media. “People would stop and take pictures and tweet and post about us on Facebook, so we built a momentum of energy from city to city.” The context of the trip was, “How can we be really generous with everybody we connect with?,” explains Love. “In response, the universe was really generous with us.” For more information on the Green Bus Project visit www. greenbusproject.com.

This Valentine’s Day Zeina and Moses will celebrate six years after having met at a yoga studio.
DONATION-BASED YOGA
As soon as they arrived back home seven months ago, they rented the space next door to their boutique at 2980 Griffin Road and opened up a donationbased yoga studio. “When you base it as pay-what-you-can class, the doors are open to everybody,” explains Love. “Money getting in the way of people attending should never be an issue.” Having a thriving facility in the South Florida community for people to come and heal, connect and remember who they are is seen as absolutely vital to Moses and Zeina. “This is how we can work together to create surplus energy… if you never have the opportunity to meet people and walk through the door because you don’t have $15 or $20 to go to yoga class, then in our eyes, you’re missing out on a entire world that should be available. And through us, it is.” I Love Yoga has a long-term vision of helping as many people as possible. “We’re just doing our part and waking up humanity,” says Love, “being a space for people to believe in themselves and realize their own humanity and gifts, to truly love themselves and simply, to heal.”
The majority opinion is that I Love Yoga eases suffering and creates real joy, real happiness. In many people’s experience, such ancient tools, meditations and breathing techniques really can work. “In another time, another place, a donation based yoga studio wouldn’t be available. Those who can give more can balance out those who have less to give. We believe that we are exactly what the community needs… It’s what we’ve been called to do.” I Love Yoga offers Hot Yoga each week from Monday - Thursday from 6 -7:15 p.m. Additional classes include Vinyasa, Kundalini, and Gentle yoga as well as A Course in Miracles discussion groups. Visit their online store www.iloveyoga. com, Facebook ‘I Love Yoga Brand Apparel’ or email moses@iloveyoga.com to receive a newsletter which includes special events, festivals and full class schedules. I Love Yoga, A Karma Yoga Company Inc., is located at 2980 Griffin Road Suite A-5. For more information, call 954-889-6894.

HOLLYWOOD STARS
Hollywood couple gets a second chance at lasting love Many are familiar with the phrase, “love at first sight.” For two seniors in Hollywood that phrase took on a whole new meaning. Luis Mestre and Nohri Barragan both use Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center transportation and attend the recreation and lunch program. The two first met at a lecture at the Center in June 2012 and the Center became more than just a daily program. Both widowers, Luis approached Norhri and instantly discovered love. Luis, originally from Puerto Rico and Norhi, originally from Columbia, found similarities in each other. They were both orphans from a young age and were always dedicated to pursuing love. As with many older people, both were worried they would never find love again. Now they celebrate every day together. Luis said it’s hard to explain the feeling he gets every morning upon seeing Nohri. Most recently the two participated in the Christmas choir. The love birds expressed deep interest in continuing to get to know each other at the Center as well as out at a restaurant one day. “I pray to God every night to love again and be happy, God answered my prayers,” says Luis. The Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center on Taft St in Hollywood serves over 100 seniors with recreation, trips, enrichment lectures, transportation, and lunch on a daily basis. The Center is often called a “home away from home”.

The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers in Hollywood to join their Relay For Life of Hollywood. The organization is seeking volunteers– community leaders, cancer survivors, caregivers, anyone wanting to make a difference – who are interested in getting involved in the fight against cancer through fundraising in their signature event, the Relay For Life, April 19-20, ArtsPark at Young Circle. Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or other gathering area, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. The events are held overnight to honor and symbolize a cancer patient’s journey through treatment. A Relay Team is a group of 12 to 15 people, led by a Team Captain, who commit to raising at least $100 each by participating in the overnight fundraising event. All of the proceeds raised fund the mission of the American Cancer Society to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. While teams do the majority of their fundraising prior to the event, many teams also hold creative fundraisers at their camp sites during the event which creates an 18-hour festival-like atmosphere. “The Relay For Life is all about our
community uniting with the American Cancer Society and supporting its efforts to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays,” said Florida State Representative, Shevrin Jones, Honorary Chairman. “Volunteers and participants who are willing to give their time and energy to this exciting event are making a commitment to let Hollywood know that cancer can be defeated.” In 2012, Relay For Life events across the state of Florida raised over $20 million to help cancer patients and their families in local communities and to fund lifesaving cancer research. The Relay For Life of Hollywood raised an astounding $54,000 to help the American Cancer Society save more lives by helping people stay well, get well, by finding cures and by fighting back. To learn more about the Relay For Life of Hollywood and to sign up your team, attend the next Team Party. The next Team Party held on Wednesday, February 27, Hollywood Jaycee Hall, 2930 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. The Team Parties are an opportunity for all teams to come together and learn about fundraising and the mission of the American Cancer Society. Everyone is invited to attend. You can get involved by registering a team at www.relayforlife.org/hollywoodFL or call Marika Guyton, 954-549-8602.

By Tracey Carswell Hollywood resident Seymour “Sy” Shweky was 17 years old when he volunteered in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He served as a B-17 radio operator and door gunner. He is one of very few who flew and completed 35 missions over Europe, many of them over France and Germany from April through December 1944. In May 2012, Shweky was invited to be the guest speaker at a luncheon meeting of the Air Force Association 317th Miami-Homestead Chapter. Based upon his presentation, the chapter assisted Shweky in submitting a “Proposal Memory” with his military records to the French Consulat, in Miami, Florida. This resulted in the French Republic, through the President of France, recognizing Shweky as a hero of WWII who helped liberate France from Nazi Germany. The French Consul General recently decorated Shweky with France’s highest military medal, as a Chevalier de Legion d’Honneur [Knight of the Legion of Honor] at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. Shweky has spoken at several local schools about his WWII experiences, sharing artifacts and stories. Last month, Temple Sinai of Hollywood and the Foundation for Holocaust Education Projects also honored Shweky. Shweky is a well-known member of the community and has resided at the Townhouses of Emerald Hills for more than 20 years. He recently celebrated his 89th birthday together with family, friends and his wife Ali.

Hollywood residents encouraged to nominate outstanding senior volunteers The search is on for Florida’s outstanding senior volunteer. The Salute to Senior Service program, sponsored by Home Instead, Inc., the franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network, honors the contributions of adults 65 and older who give at least 15 hours a month of volunteer service to their favorite causes. Nominations for outstanding senior volunteers will be accepted between Feb. 1 and March 31, 2013. State winners then will be selected by popular vote at SalutetoSeniorService.com. Online voting will take place from April 15 to April 30, 2013. From those state winners, a panel of senior care experts will pick the national Salute to Senior Service honoree. Home Instead, Inc. will donate $500 to each of the state winners’ favorite nonprofit organizations and their stories will be posted on the Salute to Senior Service Wall of Fame. In addition, $5,000 will be donated to the national winner’s nonprofit charity of choice. “We all know seniors who do so much for our community,” said Dinah Pickett, owner of
According to Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity, hunger is a reality for one in six people in the United States. To bring awareness to the issue and help find solutions, Olive Garden is asking students “How would you help end hunger in your community?” as part of the 17th-Annual Pasta Tales national essay writing contest. Olive Garden’s Pasta Tales essay contest provides students in local communities an outlet to creatively express the influences, experiences and stories that have shaped their lives. Now through Friday, March 22, students in first through 12th grade in the are invited to submit an essay of 50 to 250 words with their ideas for ending hunger in their local communities. The grand-prize winner of the contest will receive a three-day family trip to New York City that includes dinner at the Olive Garden in Times Square and a $2,500 savings bond. In addition, Olive Garden will provide a $5,000 grant to support hunger initiatives in the winner’s local community. The winners in each of the 12 grade categories will be awarded a $500 savings bond and a family dinner at their local Olive Garden restaurant. This year’s Pasta Tales question
reflects a long-term commitment to helping fight the battle against hunger in North America by Olive Garden and its parent company, Darden Restaurants. Olive Garden restaurants participate in the Darden Harvest program, which over the last nine years has donated more than 60 million pounds of food to local community food banks across the country, more than 25 million pounds of it from Olive Garden alone. Pasta Tales entry forms and complete rules are available on Olive Garden’s website at http://www.olivegarden.com/ About-Us/News-and-Media/Pasta-Tales/. All entries must include the writer’s first and last name, complete address, phone number with area code, grade, date of birth including year and a statement that the work is his or her own. Entries must be postmarked by March 22, 2013 and sent to Pasta Tales, PMB 2000, 6278 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308-1916. Submissions will be judged based on creativity, adherence to theme, organization, grammar, punctuation and spelling by the Quill and Scroll Society of the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Iowa, with winners selected by Olive Garden. For more information about Olive Garden’s Pasta Tales, contact Lauren Simo or Catie Jackson at (954) 776-1999 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST.

And yet, their contributions often make a difference not only to the organizations they serve, but in changing how the public views growing older.” Senior care professionals and those who work at hospitals, senior care facilities and other places where seniors volunteer are encouraged to nominate older adults. So, too, are family caregivers and the adult children of aging parents. Older adults also may selfnominate. MEET YOUR DOCTOR With a family full of Physicians and Surgeons you could say Joel Aronowicz, M.D. is of a pedigree. A second generation Ophthalmologist, Dr. Aronowicz began learning from his father at an early age. After graduating from medical school in
2000, Dr. Aronowicz assisted his father’s Ophthalmology practice before spending 5 years conducting post doctorate ophthalmic research specializing in corneal conditions and dry eye. He later completed his Ophthalmology residency at the prestigious UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Texas, graduating in 2010. Dr. Aronowicz and the staff of Ocean Drive Ophthalmology make every effort to ensure your visit is as joyful as possible. “I hear complaints from patients who have gone to other doctors and sit in the waiting room for four hours before they are seen, then don’t get their questions answered. That needs to change”, says Dr. Aronowicz,” for the patient, we try to make the visit as quick and painless as possible while thoroughly addressing each of their questions and concerns.” Staff describes
Dr. Aronowicz as a jovial, helpful person who takes great pride in improving the patient’s quality of life. “I aim to give the best care possible,” says Dr. Aronowicz, “If a patient has a problem that I am unable to solve, I make sure to get the patient to the right person who can.” Ocean Drive Ophthalmology is located at 3800 South Ocean Drive suite 203 Hollywood, FL 33019; Open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5 pm. The Tipsy Boar offers brew, burgers and unique international fare
Hollywood restaurateur Fulvio Sardelli has expanded his ventures in Downtown Hollywood with the recent opening of The Tipsy Boar, a gastropub at 1906 Harrison St. The Tipsy Boar is ideally situated between Sardelli’s other family-run downtown establishments: Fulvio’s 1900, a popular Italian eatery that opened in 1999 at 1900 Harrison St., and Vino, a wine boutique and restaurant that opened five years ago at 1910 Harrison St. The Tipsy Boar offers a selection of 40 craft beers on tap, as well as liquor and wine in an upscale neighborhood pub ambiance. The Tipsy Boar, whose name is fun and as much a nod to the pork dishes on the menu as the full bar service, serves up dangerously delicious bar snacks and heartier fare, including pizza, burgers, paninis, sliders, macaroni and cheese, and specialty meatballs. Must-try bites include crispy shrimp tacos, corn reuben
springrolls and short rib with porcini mushroom croquets served with a roasted garlic truffle aioli. The Tipsy Boar opened January 7 and already has attracted a loyal following. “Business is good,” Sardelli said. “We’ve been very busy.” Adam Russell, The Tipsy Boar’s general manager, said many customers alternate their evenings out among the adjacent Sardelli family establishments. Patrons can enjoy wine and cheese at Vino with its impressive wine cellar and state-of-the-art Enomatic selfservice dispenser, fine dining at Fulvio’s 1900 and now the gastropub experience at The Tipsy Boar. “They all complement each other very, very well. The Sardelli family has a long history of providing a high-quality food product and dining experience,” Russell said. Sardelli said the historic downtown arts, music and
entertainment district has served his businesses well. “I’ve been living in Hollywood for 36 years and been in business here since 1999,” said Sardelli, who also owns Sardelli Italian Steakhouse on Hollywood Beach. “I wouldn’t even think of going anywhere else.” The Tipsy Boar currently is open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. The gastropub will start opening at 11 a.m. in the coming weeks. For more information, call 954-920-2627. There is no charge for on-street downtown parking between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. Free on-street parking is available in three-hour increments between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Garage parking is available for $1 per hour at the Municipal Garages located at 251 S. 20th Avenue (between Harrison Street and Van Buren Street) and 250 N. 19th Avenue (between Tyler Street and Polk Street).

Cinquecento Pizza Gelato & Cafe serves up Italian Fare in Downtown Hollywood When Mariano Passamonte launched Cinquecento Pizza Gelato & Cafe in Downtown Hollywood in November, the Argentina native realized the American dream. A chef for the past 10 years, Passamonte “wanted to open his own business all his life,” said his wife Silvina Rodriguez. “He just wanted to start a new business, cook for himself and be his own boss.” Passamonte, a chef who moved from South America to South Florida 12 years ago, opened Cinquecento Pizza Gelato & Cafe at 1931 Hollywood Blvd., the former site of Dolce Vita Gelato Café. Passamonte previously served as the chef and manager at Dolce Vita’s sister business, Bertoni Brick Oven Pizza & Lounge in North Miami. Cinquecento, which means “five hundred” in Italian, serves a variety of pizzas baked in a wood-fired brick oven, as well as pasta dishes, salads, burgers, paninis, empanadas, calzones, entrées, appetizers, breakfast items, specialty coffees, beer and wine. Homemade desserts include flan, tiramisu, chocolate soufflé, panqueque (a South American crepe topped with caramel) and about three dozen flavors of gelato, a popular Italian treat that is much denser than traditional ice cream and has a richer, creamier, more intense flavor. “It’s a little bit of everything,” Rodriguez said of Cinquecento’s extensive menu. The café provides both indoor and outdoor seating, with a unique décor highlighted by three dining stations that offer patrons the use of Internet tablets and feature Vespa scooter-style seats. When it came time for the couple to choose the best location for their new business, they didn’t look beyond Downtown Hollywood. Cinquecento Pizza Gelato & Cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday and Monday, 11 a.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday. For more information, call 954-927-1814 or visit the Cinquecento Pizza Gelato & Cafe page on Facebook.

Tour tickets are $25 per person, with proceeds benefiting the historical programs and collections of the Hollywood Historical Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the city’s past for future generations. The 2013 official event poster and those from previous years will be available for purchase at the event, along with Hollywood Historical Society T-shirts and books on Hollywood’s history. “We got almost 300 people last year. society’s president. “It is our biggest fundraising event of the year.” The Hollywood Historical Society also offers free tours of the Hammerstein House, which was designed by Hollywood architect Bayard Lukens in the Tropical Modern architectural style in 1935, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month from October through May. At the rear of the house is the society’s Research Center, which features a collection of more than 20,000 historical items, including photographs, maps, pamphlets and the entire former Hollywood Sun-Tattler newspaper library, as well as books and historical postcards, photos, maps and posters that are available for purchase. The Research Center is open to the public Friday mornings. “People can really see what a valuable resource it is,” said Sarsfield. The Hollywood Historical Society Road Show, a 20- to 60-minute slideshow presentation on Hollywood’s creation, is also available at no charge to local schools, organizations and homeowners or condo associations. “We’re also starting a program to reach out to schools. We want to get younger people involved,” Sarsfield said. “Ultimately, I would love it if every student before graduating could actually tour our Research Center and learn about local history.” The mission of the Hollywood Historical Society is “to educate people on the history of Hollywood and to help preserve the architecture,” Sarsfield said. The society recently took up the cause of one local landmark in jeopardy, the Hollywood Playhouse. The 18,000-square-foot, 265-seat playhouse at 2640 Washington St. was completed in 1958 and had a long and successful run before TransCapital Bank acquired ownership of the abandoned facility through foreclosure. The future of the property—which had a 1949 deed restriction requiring that it remain a theater or be returned to the city, the original landowner—was uncertain. The city filed a lawsuit against the bank in 2011, saying the property was not being utilized as required, and TransCapital countersued, saying the deed restriction blocked a pending $1.2 million sale to a church. In October, the Hollywood City Commission voted against a settlement agreement that would have lifted the deed restriction. On December 19, commissioners authorized a settlement with the bank, and the property was subsequently
Confectionery shop owner finds her “Sweet Spot” on Hollywood Beach
By Caron Conway
For anyone seeking to satisfy their sweet tooth, whether it’s a craving for creamy fudge, fine chocolates or frozen treats, Concetta’s Sweet Spot, a new business on Hollywood Beach, is sure to hit the spot. Even grownups will feel like a kid in a candy store at Concetta’s Sweet Spot, which opened December 1 at 707 N. Broadwalk #4. Proprietor Concetta Iacovone has filled her shop with a veritable treasure trove of goodies, including homemade fudge, brownies and chocolate chip cookies; Italian water ices and ice cream; chocolate-covered and caramel popcorn; chocolate-dipped pretzels; candy apples and caramel apples; and chocolate truffles, saltwater taffy, Gummi bears, candy necklaces and jelly beans. Most of the sweet treats are made on site by Iacovone, who “grew up baking,” she recalled. “I lived in the kitchen. I’m
Italian.” After reaching her milestone 50th birthday last January, Iacovone decided to make a switch from bartending at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Hollywood to starting her own business. “I thought it was time for a change in my life, time to do something for myself,” she said. “So here I am, making fudge.” Initially, Iacovone was looking for a little sandwich shop to take over. One day last June, she was walking along the Broadwalk and happened upon a “cute little place” that sold Italian ices, and she asked the owner if his business was for sale. Iacovone signed the lease with property owner People’s Jewelers in Miami on November 1st and opened Concetta’s Sweet Spot one month later. Since then, she has hit the ground running with her homemade confections that include more than a dozen varieties of fudge such as peanut butter, rocky road, rum raisin, maple walnut, mint
chocolate swirl and key lime pie; and creamy Italian water ices in 11 flavors that include cotton candy, watermelon, sour apple, coconut cream and mango. Concetta’s Sweet Spot also offers 20 different ice cream flavors, including a sugar-free selection. As a 20-year resident of Hollywood, Iacovone wanted to open her own business close to home. She said she appreciates Hollywood’s beautiful beach and the extensive renovations to the Broadwalk in recent years that make it a true destination. “Honestly, I never dreamed that I would be working right on the beach. But here I am, and I love it,” Iacovone said. “I found my niche.” Concetta’s Sweet Spot is located at 707 N. Broadwalk #4 at Fillmore Street. Hours are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. For additional information, call 954-9204526.

purchased by Santa Lucia Properties LLC. The new owner plans to present theater productions and children’s programming after the playhouse, which suffered damage from Hurricane Wilma in 2005, has been renovated. Although it is not a designated historical property, the Hollywood Playhouse was one of the oldest established theatres in South Florida, presenting an array of professional entertainment for a half-century. The Little Theater of Hollywood group bought the land from the city for $10 in 1949. Famed movie star Gloria
Swanson attended the dedication ceremony in January 1953, and for the next five years productions were presented on the playhouse’s foundation with the audience sitting on blankets and lawn chairs, sometimes in 45 degree temperatures, until construction was completed. “It was such an active theater community,” Sarfield said. “We want to preserve the treasures of Hollywood, because we’ve lost so many.” For more information on the Hollywood Historical Society, to become a member or to make

Free parking will be available at the neighboring Hollywood Beach Golf Resort, 1650 Johnson St. Refreshments will be included in the tour. The last tour will get underway at 3:30 p.m.

LOCAL BUSINESS PROFILE
Aikido of South Florida Celebrating 20 Years in Downtown Hollywood!! Aikido of South Florida is a Traditional Japanese Martial Art School in Downtown Hollywood that has been established for over 25 years and is recognized as one of the oldest Aikido schools in South Florida. Founded and instructed by Stephanie Yap Sensei, she believes that the training of Aikido extends beyond the study of techniques for self-defense, but rather unifying our physical and mental prowess through diligent practice. According to Yap Sensei, “ASF is not only about the martial arts, but also stress relief, healthy minds and healthy bodies, building friendships and strengthening families. The dojo highly emphasizes etiquette and discipline in a traditional inviting environment in hopes of integrating these skills into the practitioner’s everyday life.” What is Aikido? Conflict Resolution and Mental Resilience. Aikido is often translated as “the Way of Harmony”. The Founder’s, Morihei Ueshiba, goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while simultaneously protecting their attacker from injury. He envisioned aikido not only as the synthesis of his martial training, but also an expression of his personal philosophy of universal peace and reconciliation, an art which holds the concept of non-conflict, rather than the defeat of an adversary, as the ideal. The goal of Aikido is to blend and redirect the momentum of your opponent in order to
neutralize the attack, regardless of the size of the assailant. The essence of Aikido is the unbalancing of your partner, which is achieved through the precise use of leverage, inertia, gravity, centrifugal and centripetal forces, which ultimately defuses and counters the energy of an attack. The techniques themselves are not dependent on strength or agility in order to be effective, which makes this art conducive for men, women and children of all ages.

Through these humanitarian efforts she has realized, first hand, the power of using Aikido as a tool to reconcile the world. Aikido for Kids ages 6-15 Aikido of South Florida’s philosophy for teaching children is to develop each child’s own natural sense of self-worth through diligent training and discipline. Yap Sensei believes “Children are naturally active and full of energy. Our responsibility is to provide traditional instruction in order to develop all aspects of their character, enhancing their abilities to interact with others and learn to resolve differences peacefully in a manner that will evolve into something far more important and necessary as they mature, and begin to make choices on their own.” In addition to regular scheduled kids classes, ASF also offers Aikido Camps For Kids, an exclusive Intensive Japanese Cultural Exchange program available to children ages 6-15 during their Spring, Summer and Winter breaks. It’s a great program to keep your kids mentally and physically active during the school breaks.
