Editor´s Note Aprovecho la pausa que me da el trabajo para conectarme a internet, y nunca faltan los comentarios entre amigos, colegas o el periódico emprendiendo la campaña “El impreso ha muerto”. Soy de las personas cuyo trabajo obliga a depender de un computador, ¿y quién en esta cultura está exento de ello? A veces me crea una ansiedad tal que termino agotada y con miles de ventanas abiertas, diciéndome que mañana terminaré de leer, pero los links a más información son infinitos, al punto de que tengo una hoja con direcciones de páginas web cuyo título es “pendiente por leer”.

Es una realidad, el auge de internet ha obligado a las revistas a ser creativas y eso hace que se respire en el medio un nuevo aire de optimismo. Soy de las personas que dice que más allá del medio por el cual la información viaja, lo que realmente determina su éxito es la calidad de sus artículos y la cantidad de gente que quiera llegar a ella.

Es un momento en el cual el papel es un formato amenazado, arriesgado y con aire de melancolía, pero su futuro solo se pondrá en entre dicho cuando muera la participación de los anunciantes, que son la clave para el funcionamiento y crecimiento del medio. ¡Atrapado y sin salida no lo creo! El Apocalipsis que han querido vendernos de que el impreso desaparecerá a corto plazo tiene muchas aristas que no las determina el medio online, más bien creo que ambos se complementan.

El poder de la impresión está en que es un objeto que la gente desea tocar, guardar y coleccionar, las sensaciones son del cielo a la tierra. Siempre estaremos los que adoramos sentarnos en un sofá con pantuflas, una bolsita de chocolates y una buena revista que nos deje con ganas de saber más. Pero al final de cuentas todo es cuestión de gustos. Nuestro reto es la creatividad, apostar por la credibilidad, los contenidos y la proximidad.

Yo mientras tanto los invito a ponerse cómodos y a disfrutar de las páginas que hemos preparado para ustedes, buen viaje.

I take the break from work to connect to the internet, and there are never miss commentaries of friends, colleagues or the newspaper with the campaign “Printed has die”. I’m one of the persons whose work makes them dependent of a computer, and who is exempt of it in this culture? Sometimes it gives me such an anxiety that I end exhausted and with a thousand of windows opened, telling myself that tomorrow I’ll finish reading, but the links to more information are infinites till the point that a I have a document with web directions which title is “pendent to read”.

It is a reality, the internet has forced the magazines to be creative and that makes the air optimistic. I think that beyond the medium where the information travels, what really makes it to succeed is the quality of their articles and the amount of people who wants to reach it.

It is a time when paper is a threatened format, risky, and melancholic, but its future will only depend on the participation of advertisers, who are the key for the function and growth of the media.

I don’t believe in being trapped and with no way out! The Apocalypses they’ve wanted to sell us that the printed will disappear in short term has many corners that are not determinate by the online media, I think they complement each other.

The power of printed is to be an object that people wants to touch, to keep, and to collect, the sensations are from heaven to earth. Muchos lectores de nuestra revista, entre los que se cuentan destacados empresarios, directores y gerentes, no se han atrevido a realizar un viaje al mítico Tepui Roraima, ubicado al sur del estado Bolívar, pensando que no tendrán un viaje confortable, bien atendido, esmeradamente guiado y con los transportes adecuados que garanticen prácticos y cómodos desplazamientos. Es un placer afirmar que hoy sí puede contar con todos esos requerimientos y mucho más, puesto que excelentes operadores turísticos venezolanos se han enfocado en ofrecer los mejores servicios para emprender aventuras que parecen complejas. Estos servicios están atrayendo un turismo internacional muy especial que pasa desapercibido: japoneses, alemanes, británicos, norteamericanos, brasileños y muchas nacionalidades más están recorriendo constantemente los caminos hacia la cima del Roraima, que puede incluir una caminata de 3 días hasta la cima o un vuelo directo en helicóptero que no sobrepasa los 15 minutos desde la población de Paraitepui, desde donde se suele salir a esta aventura.

Los niveles de glucosa descontrolados pueden dañar los nervios, los vasos sanguíneos pequeños y modificar la función normal de los órganos sexuales; es decir, la diabetes puede generar disfunción eréctil debido a que afecta tanto física (circulación sanguínea), como fisiológicamente (estímulos sexuales) a los hombres. Muchos hombres que comienzan con problemas de erección desconocen que padecen diabetes, por lo que este podría convertirse en un síntomaconsecuencia de la enfermedad.

Según estudios, la disfunción eréctil está asociada con un incremento en el estrés, provocado por la diabetes que daña los tejidos mediante la reducción de oxígeno, haciendo que los músculos tiendan a ser más fibrosos y menos extensibles, por lo tanto la erección es menos rígida y más fugaz.

La disfunción eréctil es un problema muy común en varones diabéticos y está asociada con neuropatía diabética y enfermedad vascular periférica. El 50% de los hombres con diabetes desarrolla esta patología dentro de los 10 años del diagnóstico.

La Diabetes Tambien Afecta La Sexualidad De Mujeres Un 35% de las mujeres con diabetes pueden experimentar una reducción o ausencia de la respuesta sexual. Esto es comprensible porque con la neuropatía diabética las células que recubren el interior de la vagina se dañan, por lo que se produce sequedad, que a su vez genera molestias durante la relación sexual (dispareunia) lo que acaba reduciendo la respuesta o el deseo sexual.

Si constantemente se tienen elevados niveles de glucosa en la sangre (hiperglucemia), la mujer es más propensa a las infecciones vaginales, las cuales pueden ocasionar incomodidad o malos olores, y en consecuencia fomentar la negación a la actividad sexual. En este caso, además de atender la infección vaginal, hay que promover un exhaustivo control de los niveles de azúcar.

No obstante, los especialistas explican que en gran medida todo esto se puede prevenir y, en algunos casos, reducir a través de tres sencillos pasos: dieta balanceada, ejercicio regular y constante monitoreo de los niveles de glucosa en la sangre.

Erectile dysfunction, sign for diabetes?

According to researchers of the National Diabetes Center of United States, men with risk of getting diabetes have from two to three times more chances of presenting erectile dysfunction, even those between 10 to 15 years earlier than non diabetics.

Unbalanced glucose levels can damage the nerves, blood vessels and to modify the regular function of reproductive organs; diabetes can cause erectile dysfunction because it affects physically (blood circulation), and physiologically (sexual stimulus) to men.

Many men who start with erectile dysfunction don’t know they have diabetes, so this could become a symptom-consequence of the disease.

According to studies, erectile dysfunction is associated with an increment of stress, caused by diabetes because it damages the tissues by oxygen reduction, making the muscles more fibrous and less extensible; therefore the erection is less rigid and more fugacious.

Erectile dysfunction is a common problem in diabetic males and is associated with diabetic neuropathy and peripheral vascular disease. A 50% of men with diabetes develop this pathology within the 10 years of diagnosis.

En esta edición les traemos esta receta de nuestro exquisito tiramisú vegano, para que aprovechen los beneficios del café, el tofu y el cacao en un postre saludable y delicioso. ¡Que lo disfruten!

Ingredientes Para el queso mascarpone: 1 taza de merey remojado 10 dátiles remojados sin carozo 4 cubos de tofu blando Para la galleta: 200gr manteca vegetal, margarina vegana o mantequilla de almendras 50ml aceite de coco 150gr xilitol 250gr harina multigranos y todo uso de Out Gluten (o la harina sin gluten de su preferencia)

DESSERT DATO CURIOSO 2 ¿Sabías que el tofu tiene un elevado contenido de proteínas y calcio, razón por la cual es un excelente sustituto para el queso de origen animal?

Procedimientos Para el queso mascarpone: Colocar el merey remojado sin agua en el procesador junto a los dátiles y el tofu. Procesar hasta obtener una mezcla homogénea y sedosa. Reservar.

Para las galletas: Acremar con los dedos la materia grasa junto al xilitol y agregar la mezcla de harinas. Hornear a 180ºC por 15 a 20 minutos. Dejar enfriar y reservar.

Para El Ensamblado Café Cacao en polvo Disponer el café en un bol con xilitol o stevia, remojar en el café las galletas y disponer en una fuente, colocando capas de galleta remojadas en café con el queso y espolvorear capas finas de cacao entre capa y capa; terminar con cacao y reservar en el refrigerador por 30 minutos antes de consumir.

Daniel Angulo is a maracayero with more than 20 years of experience in parachuting, he has made this activity his life style and big passion.

Para él es una rutina lanzarse de 13.000 pies de altura a una velocidad de 300 kilómetros por hora en caída libre.

“Es una explosión de adrenalina que experimentamos en medio de las alturas. Sin dudas, el paracaidismo es una de las disciplinas más atractivas dentro de los deportes extremos.

Asimismo, su pasión por este deporte le ha reportado numerosas satisfacciones. En 2010 fue pionero al llevar el nombre de su país a la Dubai Parachuting Championship.

En Venezuela participó en competencias como la Copa GoPro 2011 y la Copa Oakley 2012, obteniendo los primeros lugares en varias especialidades. En 2013 y 2014 estuvo presente en la USPA Canopy Piloting National Championship EEUU alcanzando el 4to y 5to lugar respectivamente, en su categoría (los primeros 8 puestos en la tabla entraron en la premiación). Ha formado parte como camarógrafo y fotógrafo de eventos como el récord mexicano de Freefly, récord mexicano de formación 40 way, y más de 300 exhibiciones nacionales e internacionales.

Recientemente, en su búsqueda por la excelencia, se formó para ejercer como juez de competencia, una tarea de gran responsabilidad y gran preparación.

De la mano de grandes expertos, este digno representante del tricolor nacional sigue sorprendiendo con su pasión, ímpetu, talento y sobre todo muchas ganas por hacerlo siempre mejor. Conozcamos un poco más de su personalidad, anécdotas y recuerdos, a través de una conversación que sostuvo con Xtrema Venezuela.

–¿Cuál fue la primera experiencia que te llevó a tener hoy esta relación tan estrecha con el paracaidismo?

Siempre me gustó la aviación. Mi papá era militar de la Fuerza Aérea y siempre me fascinaron los aviones. Yo quería ser piloto, pero siempre que veía algo relacionado con el paracaidismo me sentía realmente atraído.

–¿Dónde diste los primeros pasos?

En la escuela de paracaidismo de mi primo Sael fue donde me inicié. En Barquisimeto. Él tenía una escuela pequeña pero era la única a la que quería ir porque allí estaba mi primo y él era excelente paracaidista.

–Which was the first experience that took you to have this close relationship with parachuting?

I always liked aviation. My dad was an Air Force military and I always had a fascination for plains. I wanted to be a pilot, but every time I saw something related to parachuting I felt drawn to it.

–Where did you take your first steps?

On my cousin Sael parachuting school, in Barquisimeto. He had a small school but it was the only one I wanted to go because my cousin was there and he was an excellent skydiver.

–Es cierto que aún te queda camino por recorrer en el mundo del paracaidismo, pero, ¿cuál sería esa satisfacción que hasta ahora te ha dejado?

El paracaidismo es tan amplio que no creo que exista la posibilidad de acabar el camino y lo que yo busco en el paracaidismo no es llegar al final. Hasta ahora me ha dejado felicidad, tranquilidad y logros. El paracaidismo es mi jardín zen y cuando conectas de esa manera, conectas contigo mismo y con tu propósito de vida. Durante un fin de semana inolvidable de excelentes olas y buena vibra, el 14 y 15 de junio se organizó en Playa La Punta, Los Caracas, la sexta edición del Campeonato Nacional de Surf Universitario 2015 “Copa Nestea”, en esa cancha natural se brindó un gran espectáculo con los mejores surfistas universitarios del país, quienes aportaron toda su energía en cada maniobra radical ejecutada, con el propósito de abrir las puertas a esta disciplina en los Juegos Deportivos Universitarios.

En esta ocasión el ranking nacional por equipos fue ganado por el equipo de la Universidad Simón Bolívar, mientras que la joven atleta mirandina Rosanny “La Panterita” Álvarez de la UPEL, se llevó el premio mayor del “Atleta Integral” por su destacado desempeño académico y sobre las olas con promedio de 14,63 puntos.

Con un comportamiento intachable de atletas y público, así como la labor social realizada con una mega jornada ecológica, clases gratuitas de surf a la comunidad y premiación especial con “honor al mérito” a atletas discapacitados, se demostró que es posible hacer un evento de calidad, hecho por atletas para atletas. Lo que sirvió de carta de presentación de este movimiento ante las organizaciones deportivas que tienen el poder de decisión para incluir esta disciplina en el programa de los Juegos Deportivos Universitarios (Juvines).

After a tsunami of emotions product of the successful tour talks of Surf at the U in seven of the principal universities of the country, where a group of professionals of different areas promoted the annual classic of university surfing through art, photography and science applied to sport, such as the capacity of the uncontrolled strength of waves to transform surfing into an exchange agent and, with a lot of passion and mysticism, make a tribute to the Venezuela of possibilities.

During an unforgettable weekend of great waves and good vibes, on June 14 and 15 was organized in La Punta Beach, Los Caracas, the sixth edition of the National Championship of University Surf 2015 “Nestea Cup”, on that natural space was given a show with the best university surfers of the country, who brought all their energy in every radical trick made, with the intent to open the doors for this discipline in the University Sport Games.

In this occasion the national ranking by teams was won by the Simón Bolivar University, while the young athlete from Miranda, Rosanny “little panther” Álvarez, from the UPEL, took the major

prize of “Integral Athlete” due to her outstanding academic and on the waves performance with an average of 14,63 points.

With a remarkable behavior of the athletes and audience, along with the social labor, a big ecological workday, free surfing classes to the community and a special “meritorious” award for handicap athletes, it was shown that it is possible to make an event of quality, made by athletes for athletes.

This was a presentation letter for this movement before the sport organization with the power to include this discipline into the program of the University Sport Games (Juvines).

Tras un tsunami de emociones producto de la exitosa gira de charlas Surf en la U en siete de las principales universidades a escala nacional, en donde un grupo de profesionales de diferentes áreas promovimos el clásico anual del surf universitario a través del arte, la fotografía y la ciencia aplicada al deporte, así como la capacidad que tiene la fuerza indomable de las olas para hacer del surf un agente de cambio y, con mucha pasión y mística, hacer tributo a la Venezuela de lo posible

Como balance de la actividad destacó la buena dinámica desarrollada durante el evento, en el que un importante grupo de estudiantes universitarios se integró con el equipo organizador para hacer de la “Copa Nestea” su gran actividad extracurricular. Lo más importante fue sentir la atención que se le prestó a los participantes, que esta vez contaron no solo con la estructura técnica del torneo, sino también con un lugar especialmente acondicionado para ellos, que incluía una zona VIP con hidratación permanente y un equipo de fisioterapeutas y especialistas en acondicionamiento físico de Medex, quienes ofrecieron su atención permanente a los competidores.

Las condiciones climáticas y del mar colaboraron en que el torneo luciera aún mejor, con olas de 3 a 4 pies con fuerza. Algo que rescatar es que el nivel deportivo se ha mantenido abriéndole las puertas a una nueva generación, aun cuando muchos de los que se destacaron en ediciones anteriores ya se graduaron.

A los efectos del plan de incluir al surf en los Juegos Deportivos Universitarios, ya se hizo entrega de toda la documentación solicitada por el Director de Deporte Universitario del IND, Marcos Manzano, y se espera que para 2016 sea una realidad el solicitar cupo por

Méritos Deportivos en las distintas instituciones de educación superior del país. Si se logra el ingreso a los Juegos Universitarios desde 2016, tenemos proyectado organizar el séptimo Campeonato Universitario en el primer semestre del año entrante, para que los equipos de cada universidad puedan ir midiéndose de cara a los Juvines que se hacen a finales de año.

En el 6to Campeonato Universitario de Surf “Copa Nestea” presentado por Alves Surfboards, el equipo de la Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) se coronó campeón al acumular 5.212 puntos frente a 4.981 de los muchachos y muchachas de la Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV), institución que lo había ganado consecutivamente en los primeros cuatro años. La competencia contó con estudiantes de 23 universidades de diferentes partes del país.

La sexta edición de Surf en la U fue posible gracias al respaldo económico de Nestea, Alves Surfboards, ZonaRadical.com, HPS, Medex, Meridiano TV, Sesha, Samoa, Acqua Bikinis, La Mega, Revista Xtrema, En Extremo, Fundación Pro Surf y Cayena Community, con el apoyo y aval de los clubes universitarios de surf, Asociación de Surf del Estado Vargas, INCRET, Ministerio para el Poder Popular para el Deporte y la Federación Venezolana de Surfing.

Nuestras áreas constan de almacén, producción de mezclas, cocina para la elaboración de galletas que acompañan los helados, el área del mantecado que es la formación del helado, la de las frutas naturales que son seleccionadas, limpiadas y procesadas para poderse envasar, etiquetar y refrigerar. Cuidamos cada detalle hasta que llega al cliente.

–En la naturaleza. Las recomendaciones de mi equipo de trabajo y de mis seguidores también juegan un papel preponderante.

–Es el libro que quiero escribir pero por ahora estamos enfocados en abarcar totalmente el territorio nacional y expandirnos al exterior.

–¿Qué significa ser una referencia de postres sanos que ha hecho cambiar estilos de vida?

–Ha sido satisfactorio, me buscan para dar asesorías y eso me complace. Ser una fuente de inspiración para mí es haber cumplido mi misión. No solo el mensaje que doy con mi producto sino el que doy como emprendedora.

Otro detalle importante es la hidratación. Se debe mantener una hidratación normal sin abusar del agua y electrolitos, y, por supuesto, evitar la deshidratación pre-competencia.

El día de la competencia es fundamental desayunar con carbohidratos rápidos, preferiblemente sin fibra, con algo de proteína y pocas grasas. La mejor recomendación en este sentido es buscar la asesoría de un nutricionista deportivo.

Los días previos a la competición es importante disminuir todo aquello que pueda ser un factor estresante o de distracción. El atleta debe ir buscando concentración, pensar que todo lo que ha hecho lo vuelve un mejor competidor, que recuerde todo el plan de entrenamiento, que se focalice en la prueba y sus características, que haga visualizaciones positivas (ejemplo: verse a sí mismo ganando). Se debe evitar jornadas laborales intensas, reuniones de trabajo pesadas, viajes largos, muchas horas de pie y todo aquello que lo saque de su concentración. Debe evitar conflictos y discusiones, y no debe hacer cosas que no se proba-

ron en el período de entrenamiento, como cambiar drásticamente la alimentación, las horas de sueño o usar implementos que no se experimentaron antes (ropa o zapatos nuevos).

¿Qué hay en relación al sexo?

Hay muchas referencias de especialistas que sostienen que el acto sexual no tiene un consumo calórico que pueda poner en riesgo las reservas de glucógeno muscular o que genere un cansancio exagerado. Por el contrario, las relaciones de intimidad de pareja generan relajación y un efecto anti estrés.

De esta manera, las relaciones de pareja, preferiblemente realizadas antes de las últimas 12 horas previas a la competencia, pueden tener un efecto positivo en el atleta. Sin embargo, las relaciones con parejas casuales podrían generar algo de estrés y deberían evitarse en las últimas 18 a 24 horas. Hay que tomar en cuenta la importancia del evento competitivo, si se trata de un evento de clasificación donde el atleta tiene chance de ganar o eventos internacionales de alto nivel vale la pena hacer el “sacrificio” de abstenerse las 24 horas antes de la prueba para lograr la máxima concentración en el logro. Definitivamente luego habrá bastante tiempo para celebrar en pareja.

Entre las bebidas destiladas encontramos algunos cócteles con zumos de frutas naturales o refrescos que, en poco tiempo llevan a una embriaguez extrema debido a la cantidad de azúcar que contienen, que eleva potencialmente el grado de alcohol. Es mejor elegir bebidas con menos alcohol y azúcar. Y si tomas el alcohol mezclado con otras bebidas escoge una que no tenga azúcar, por ejemplo: refrescos gaseosos dietéticos, agua con gas, soda, sifón o agua mineral. Esto ayudará a que sus niveles de glucemia se mantengan dentro de sus límites normales.

Beber una sola copa puede no ser dañino, pero tomar en exceso será perjudicial. La resaca que provoca puede ser un buen indicio. Al margen hay bebidas que por los efectos que producen perjudican el funcionamiento de nuestros órganos y la salud en general, ya sea debido a sus ingredientes o a su forma de elaboración. ¡ENTIENDE A TU PLACER CULPOSO! Un profesor de la Universidad de Yale, llamado Ravi Dhar, se inspiró para investigar la emoción después de ver a un colega comer una barra de chocolate y expresar placer y desagrado al mismo tiempo.

“En todos los casos se encontró que los que se sentían culpables experimentaron más placer”, dice Dhar. Los autores atribuyen sus hallazgos a una conexión cognitiva entre la culpa y el placer, que se destaca por la frase “placer culpable” que se aplica a todo, desde ver televisión hasta la alimentación.

UNDERSTAND YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE! A professor of Yale University, Ravi Dhar, inspired to investigate the emotion after seeing a colleague eating a bar of chocolate and express pleasure and disgust at the same time.

Dhar and his colleagues decided to study the pleasure that people experienced in presence and absence of guilt. In a series of tests that included eating sweets, watching online dating profiles and watching videos, the participants who were prepare to feel or think guilt reported bigger pleasure that those who were not prepare for guilt.

“In every case was found that those who felt guilt experienced more pleasure”, says Dhar.

The writers attribute their findings to a cognitive connection between guilt and pleasure that stands out for the phrase “guilty pleasure” which applies to everything, since watching T. V., till eating habits.

According to Yale Insights, guilt and pleasure are often united in people’s minds, and the activation of one of these concepts attracts the other.

In other words, feeling guilty by eat that dessert or listen to that horrible song actually increases the satisfaction that you are getting from the experience.
